Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
pmgkt · 11/09/2012 22:13

I watched one born, I loved watching the normal one when I was pregnant last time. I'm pleased little Freddy made it. But 7 kids, brave woman.

HoneyMum21 · 11/09/2012 22:46

Does the regularity/strength of braxton hicks mean anything? I've had then really strong all day today and panicking slightly that it means something is going to happen...

emilyeggs · 11/09/2012 22:59

Had my 24 week app with doctor today, all good, heard bubba's hart got my bump measured (27cm) don't know what that means. Have ever so slightly low blood pressure but not concerned. All good really Smile hears wishing everyone (including me) a good nights sleep for once

Clarella · 11/09/2012 23:00

Potentially stupid question alert - are the tummy muscles supposed to separate, is that what always happens? If not what does happen?

Do all nipples leak during pregnancy? Mine were extremely painful till about 24 weeks and occasionally smell a little dairy like (old dairy Blush) but no leaking that I'm aware of. Getting bigger though...

I think I've got a hairy tummy, and now got that very faint line thing but noticed my 'tash' has completely disappeared :)

Clarella · 11/09/2012 23:01

And ditto honeymums q too!

EggsMichelle · 12/09/2012 03:50

You ladies talk far too much, although it has given me something to ready at this stupid time. No clue why I'm awake, Shrimpy asleep and bladder wasn't full, odd!

Spotty sorry to hear about your DDs result, but at least you were prepared and you sound like you know how you are going to deal with it.

Utopian i recommend you make use of some of that lovely maternity rage and kick your boss in the balls/pubic bone, give them a proper excuse to suspend you!!!

Ellie I did a mentoring in nursing practice degree module, and really enjoyed it! When iv got a few more spare pennies I'm going to look at doing a full degree or masters through OU.

Daydream iv not got my GTT until next Tuesday, but I presume it's a whole vial as the pin prick is not entirely accurate, plus my MW isn't taking any blood at my 28wk scan as she said they will just test the blood they take at the GTT.

Still think constipation is the worse symptom that know one warned me about, but currently the extreme leaky nipples leaving crust in my bra is grossing me out (sorry TMI)

MyDaydream · 12/09/2012 07:05

Purple I don't have Sainsburys reward points or I would have.

cherry I was thinking more of lying about moving, but discussed it with the midwife yesterday and she said to get registered now to book my 28 week appointment, but if they can't fit me in then she'll still see me until my new one can, I just need to call her direct.
Mummy very jealous, hope you've had a nice time.
Eggs thank you. We're planning to see if DP needed to come with and hold my hand. I don't give up blood easily, I like a distraction from the digging.
Went to bed feeling really sick, woke up to heartburn. Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 12/09/2012 07:33

MyDaydream hope your heartburn goes soon, I was kept up with it last night :(

It is normal for stomach muscles to separate in pregnancy, usually in the second half. Mine have been gone for a while but as it's dc2 I suppose it would happen sooner. It's when they down't go back afterwards that it's a problem....

I haven't had any nipple leakage yet and didn't get it last time either, but it is normal for some people.

emily I think they say 1cm for each weeks so you're measuring a few weeks ahead but this isn't an exact science :)

Honey is it just the tightening's you're getting or is it painful? If it's just the tightening's then I wouldn't think it was anything, you could be dehydrated that makes it worse or you could just need to rest! I get days when I have them constantly, it's a pain especially when trying to eat! If they are painful I would go and get it checked as it could well be some kind of UTI or other infection.

I watched OBEM too and I don't think I could cope with twins or anything!

Mummycox Envy hope you're enjoying your holiday!

Cherry I'm only 24+6 and yea, it's going sooo slow. I think once you hit 28 weeks it starts to speed up a little bit what with increased appointments (bigger bump Wink) etc

Phew that was long..... I'm feeling Christmassy today Hmm must be the cold morning SQUEEEEE so excited!

Secondsop · 12/09/2012 07:40

Hey ladies, I am really suffering with this hip pain. I can barely move even a few feet between bed and toilet, and even the slightest movement triggers intense pain that makes me shout out. Am trying to get to the doctor today. I've ordered one of those big c-shaped pillows and last night slept with a pillow between my legs and one under my tummy but the pain was still just as bad (even worse) this morning. I can't just stay immobile - what about work? Even if i use crutches i still can't sit in a chair without constant pain. I really hope there's something the doctor can do. If I'm told it's just a normal pregnancy thing that must be endured I will cry (again) because I feel so incapacitated at present.

knottyhair · 12/09/2012 08:13

Second, that sounds really horrible & painful, hope you get to see the doctor today.

I think I must be in the minority with the wind thing, I'm normally very windy Blush but I've rarely "blown the big brown horn" since being pregnant Confused. Also haven't had constipation. Have however got heartburn everytime I eat, whether it's chilli or a banana. Back is hurting this morning - not looking forward to doing a food shop and dragging my old lady shopping trolley back home.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 12/09/2012 08:15

clarella I never had leaky nipples with the other 2 but I have with this one so I assume both having/not having leakage is normal!

And as for BH I think as long as they aren't painful then it's not a worry. Midwife was slightly concerned with me when I was getting them accompanied with back pain but in the end all was fine. Try to drink lots of water and have a relaxing bath, see of they calm down.

Well last night I went to bil and sil's house with children and got home at 9pm as we were helping to decorate with them before a new carpet is put in today. Poor ds was shattered and fell asleep on the way home. I was asleep by half 9! Thankfully slept most the night too! Oh I love to sleep!

I hope everyone has a good day today. Dentist for me later, really don't wanna go!

emilyeggs · 12/09/2012 08:39

So sorry to hear your in so much pain seconds, I hope you can get some help with it from the doctor

JoJoB77 · 12/09/2012 09:00

Morning Smile

Sorry to hear about your DDs results Spotty & also about your job situation Utopian

Re leaky nips, mine didnt leak last time & havent so far this time, suppose thats just normal for me.

I havent noticed my tummy muscles have separated yet, dont remember it happening last time & dont really like the sound of it Confused

All good here, am 26+2 today & feeling good after a full nights sleep after the previous unsettled night with DD. I think we will be mostly chilling today. Oh how i love working just the two days Grin

I am booked in for a swab at 36 weeks to test for Group B Strep as i had it while pg with DD & had to deliver on consultant ward. If clear this time i can go to the MLU which is literally 10 mins away. Would be much more suitable but am feeling really nervous that if something went wrong ud have to be bluelighted to hosp an hour away Confused. Need to keep thinking positive thoughts instead.

Hope ypu get to see your doc today Second & he offers some form of pain relief.

Sorry if ive missed anyone, have a good day all.

JoJoB77 · 12/09/2012 09:02

Oops forgot

Gpod luck for today Daydream

Congratulations Gils lovely news!

WeeJo08 · 12/09/2012 10:11

Uuuggghhh. So tired. Really didn't sleep well as my back was so sore in bed - how come it is more painful in bed than when I'm doing anything else?? Had to get a few times to wee too and had a really bad dream right before I woke up so that really didn't help.

Had yoga last night which I enjoyed - antenatal aquafit is on tonight but not sure if I'm going to go as I'm out tomorrow night too, so maybe a night in would be better.

Daydream Good luck today!

Seconds I hope you get some relief/useful advice today. My back/hips sound nowhere near as sore as yours and they're making me plenty miserable so can't imagine how you feel :(

Saw the photos from the Strictly launch! So excited about it! It's on on Saturday Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 12/09/2012 11:26

I'm tired too, will be going to bed with dd shortly, although I haven't been having any luck sleeping at nap time either!

Secondsop let us know what the doctor says, sounds horrible

CODwidow · 12/09/2012 12:29

Phew feeling a little better today, had a much better nights sleep last night and dh woke this morning and announced he's going to quit smoking so really hoping he keeps it up. I know he can do it as he did it after our last ds but then started again 2 yrs later due to stress at work and social reasons Sad

I also need a swab at 36wks as had strep b in 2nd pregnancy so hoping that'll be clear as I'd really like to go to the birth centre but ours is joined to the hospital.

PurplePidjin · 12/09/2012 12:35

Hope they're helpful, Seconds

Just had my 28 week appt - bloods, heart beat (although i have that done weekly because of the syncopation), blood pressure and measuring spot on for dates. Had a lovely and clearly very new student nurse sit in, mw showed us where PidjChick's head is and she was so chuffed to feel it :o I'm now all booked in to antenatal classes too; we get 3 for couples plus a bf session for mums only. With such good provision, i see no need to pay for nct (and have heard they're quite cliquey round here) I've also had a letter saying the hv will be visiting next month it's all starting to get very real!

PurplePidjin · 12/09/2012 12:42

Fwiw, my local birth centre is a good half hour from the hospital by car, more in rush hour. In an ambulance with the blues and twos going it's more like 12 minutes...

JoJoB77 · 12/09/2012 12:50

Ah thanks Pidj i now realise that an ambulance journey would probably take not much more than half an hour, which doesnt seem so bad now.

Secondsop · 12/09/2012 13:56

Hey y'all, thank you for all your comments. I've been signed off work for a bit as the doctor said it wasn't going to get better any time soon, and he's doing an urgent referral to the physio. He said it's the ligaments etc getting misaligned as everything expands for the baby. He was v good. I'm also having my urine tested to eliminate infection but he doesn't think it's that. I can take paracetamol and deep heat. The baby seems fine, which is the main thing - kicking away.

knottyhair · 12/09/2012 14:26

Good news Second, hope the physio appt comes through quickly and you start to feel better.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/09/2012 14:42

Sounds like you have a lovely GP seconds hope the rest helps you feel better

MyDaydream · 12/09/2012 14:57

Thank you to everyone who's wished me luck. Setting off soon to go hoping my heartburn holds off until I can grab some gaviscon but it's not likely.
Good luck to your DH COD I quit just before I got pregnant and am so thankful ive had baby to think of when it's all been a bit much!
seconds sounds like you've got a brilliant doctor there, hopefully the physio will be as good.

Bubbless · 12/09/2012 15:42

nutella you see, its gone today.. but im scared it will come back! so will make sure i make a point of saying something at my 25w appt whcih ive had to book with the doc as the mw is fully booked :/

daydream our matalan stock a very poor selection of maternity clothes, including about 4 teeshirts, one pair of trousers (which are really joggers) and a skirt... thats about it.. if it makes you feel any better!! hope your interview went well?!

i got cramp for the first time in my leg during the night last night, i forgot how horrible it was!

hope everyones doing okay, sorry to hear about your hips seconds sounds horrific :(
