coffee I am buried in bed under the duvet, horrible headaches today and I've been doing too much. Dd loves supernanny! The way she does the naughty step has always worked for me so I think she's great.

Pleased you're back in again spotty.

I've not asked dh for anything this whole pregnancy so I have tonight decided to act like a diva, I'm staying in bed while he looks after dd and after that I'm sending him to pick up a takeaway wagamamas.

Secondsop · 25/09/2012 18:41

emilyseggs your post made me laugh!

coffeeandcream I've booked onto NCT classes in November - 4 Friday afternoons. My health authority only offers one evening birth preparation class and as first-time parents we would really like something more.

Flumpy2012 · 25/09/2012 18:43

Hello again.

Still driven to distraction with boredom on bed rest here.

Hope anyone in flooded areas are ok!

belly button on its way out here!

Super nanny is great - especially from a nanny point of view, her techniques are great and she's surprisingly good considering she has no children of her own.

NCT classes first week in nov although I'm tempted not to go, I'm worried they by then I'll feel huge and ugly and it'll be all couples and I'll just melt down Sad
I haven't broached ex-p about coming but perhaps he would? He plans to be at the birth.

If anyone fancies a good uplifting pregnancy book full of laughs I can thoroughly recommend 'pregnancy and birth' by caz Cooke.

Feeling thoroughly emotional and hormonal tonight Sad I hate being trapped indoors and worse still in bed! Too much time to think

coffeeandcream · 25/09/2012 18:59

strawberry Grin for being a diva, why not?!

second Our local area had very little in terms of antenatal classes, I definitely wanted more information and preparation so signed up for a six session NCT course. Am really loking forward to it!

flumpy, I'm sure NCT classes will be ok, you surely won't be the first person to have gone by themselves. Plus, if LOs daddy is going to be at the birth, it could be really helpful for him to come if he wants to, plus you don't want him to be at the birth and be no help at all!

MaMaPo · 25/09/2012 19:06

My NCT classes start next week (the next round isn't until
The week before my due date, so could be completely terrible timing. It's quite intense - 4 evening classes and a Sunday over a week and a half! Trial by fire. Have been stern with my husban about getting off work on time - his job is hectic but I know he wants/needs to be there.

No idea if it'll feel all new or same old - Im also really looking forward to meeting people, as I don't know a soul near where I live, let alone any expecting parents.

Got a wedding this weekend I totally forgot about (never met the people - work colleagues of my husband) so its time to see if I can still squeeze into anything appropriate. Uh oh...

coffeeandcream · 25/09/2012 20:07

Hi mamapo, your NCT arrangement sounds intense! I'm looking forward to it as we are the first of our friends to start a family, we don't know anyone with children.

I sympathise with you about finding a wedding outfit. I have a small family wedding a month before I'm due, but I managed to pick up a Dorothy Perkins maternity dress at an NCT nearly new sale which is just perfect.

Barbeasty · 25/09/2012 20:24

I have my first NCT class on Friday evening, then a full day on Saturday (then Sunday am the following weekend and a final all-day Saturday).

DH absolutely refuses to come. He wouldn't go last time, so I didn't do the NCT classes. But I'm braving it alone this time.

I want to meet some people with babies around the same age, and last time most people I came across already had their NCT group and no need to make other friends- not nasty, but not terribly inclusive. Then other people I met later locally don't work so I'm sort of out on the periphery there too.

After all that, this Sunday we have DD's swimming lesson and then have to head straight to Oxford for a birthday party for 2 of her cousins. I'll be shattered!

Hope all the duvet-smugglers feel better soon.

Flumpy2012 · 25/09/2012 20:43

Hello bar,

How far from Oxford do you live? I'm about 30 mins away. Where are you planning on giving birth?

Stupid excitement that someone on here might live close by! Grin x

olliebob · 25/09/2012 21:10

Hi i know i dont post much on here but i do read it regularly. I am sorry but this is a post bout wanting the sobbing sofa just finding the whole thing difficult at the mo. Feel too tired to do fun things with my 2 dc and having to cope that my dh has been diagnosed with depression. I am angry with dh as well cos partly feel let down by him cos every pregnancy i have i end up stressin out over him instead of just enjoying it. He is also not helping himself completely as he is on anti depressants but still not eating regularly, trying to sleep enough and will still have a drink. In fact he has gone out tonight and i have told him not to come home if he drinks cos i am so shattered and fed up of trying to be strong for him when all i want to do is scream. Sorry if i abu. And sorrry for the moan.

Mummycox · 25/09/2012 21:40

Ollie I was about to place myself on the sofa but instead am going to bake you some blondies and leave them within reach.

Hope he comes home sober and realises how lucky he is to have a wonderful family and finally gets the medical support he needs.

Flumpy2012 · 25/09/2012 21:52

Ollie,

Sending you big hugs, hope he comes home sober and apologises too.
I'm not in your situation but my ex-p was v depressed and it is so hard when you're pregnant and try to focus on keeping up
With everything and the little life inside you and someone else is pulling you down. Remember there is only so much support you can give him, he needs to help himself.

Try to take a half hour by yourself and just unwind. Don't feel bad about DC, cbeebies is very fun for them Smile

I hope you sleep well and things look brighter in the morning x

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 25/09/2012 22:48

Right I have pics of the finished nursery but can't work out how to get them on here, might have to wait until DH is home next mon.

Persuaded mum to stay until fri now so only have to be alone from then until mon night. :)

Sorry to hear of those having a hard time! Pregnancy is rubbish enough without added worries!

I have an awful toothache today which is odd as I had a check up the week before last and they reckoned all was fine! Made an regency appointment for tomo do hopefully they sort it, toothache is bad enough normally but with only paracetamol as pain relief it is ridiculous!

pmgkt · 25/09/2012 23:31

Ds1 moved to his new room today so tonight I have unpacked all the newborn and 0-3 clothes, and I seem to have loads. Moses basket in the room and baby bath out of the loft. I think it is a little ott really bearing in mind I have 14 weeks left but wanted to do it. Tomorrow I will dye the rocker cover so it matches the Moses basket which I did a few weeks ago. Dh is away on a stag do this weekend, looking forward to having the bed to myself.

Barbeasty · 26/09/2012 05:51

Flumpy- I live about 60 miles away! I'm in Gloucestershire, but the swimming lesson is in Cheltenham and slightly closer than us. I guess it depends which direction you live from Oxford!

olliebob · 26/09/2012 05:59

Thanks for the kind msgs just think last night it all got on top of me. He came in bout 12 and made him sleep downstairs he says he only had 2 pints but really dont believe him. Had another bad sleep so wondering if that is why this is getting to me more normally i just shrug it all off and can carry on. I have just sent him to work he was talkin bout going in late but as he had a discplinary over attendance and another issue i was not having it. The 2 previous pregnancies he has lost his jobs so told him if that happens this time he is out. Sorry for the ranting, but really think i need to get this all off my chest so thanks.

emilyeggs · 26/09/2012 08:57

Another shit night for me Sad feel like crap and have had a stitch like pain on the left side of my pelvis since yesterday Sad sorry to moan

Secondsop · 26/09/2012 09:39

Hello. Olliebobs sorry to hear about everything you're going through. Really hope things start looking up.

emilyeggs, Is it SPD? Hope it gets better.

Another bad night/morning for me too. Really bad back/hip pain is back - couldn't stand up long enough to shower and I needed help with dressing. Was meant to be back at work today - am going spare at home! - am going to the doctor this afternoon to see what he says. I did have a few days of feeling better last week, without the constant pain, but I've either clicked something out of place or it's all downhill from here until the end of the pregnancy.

emilyeggs · 26/09/2012 12:27

Don't know what SPD is but will look it up Smile have taken some paracetamol but only taken the edge off it slightly

SpottyTeacakes · 26/09/2012 13:28

Had to go to the bank and post office. Got completely drenched Sad glad to be indoors now though! Hope no one is suffering from the floods

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 26/09/2012 13:47

I have another course of antibiotics because of an abscess! Not happy! Then the bloody pharmacist was throwing a strip at giving me 1% thrush cream as the antibiotics will invariably cause thrush. And said I should have made a docs appointment! Really?! Angry

Today is not a good day!

I hope everyone's ok and no flooding!

monsterchild · 26/09/2012 14:10

This will be my first child who else feels like a science experiment?

very fascinating (yes, I did mean to say that!) GI event last night after too much juice, very interesting to feel the bubbles and such moving about. Stopped kidlet from moving for a while too! And he's been very active!

mwahmwah · 26/09/2012 15:31

Just caught up with four pgs of blethering on here after absence due to sick bug, thus is a fast moving thread! Welcome all newbies :)
Whoever was asking bout support belt for spd I was given one last time but didn't use it after reading they can cause the baby's head to be mis-shapen... Don't know if its true or not but scared me enuf to say no chance!

brooke89 · 26/09/2012 16:09

Emily-I've had similar pain, does it feel like burning inside? My doc referred me up to the hospital for physio and found out yesterday my pelvis is tilted which is the cause. Maybe see if you can get it looked at?

emilyeggs · 26/09/2012 17:36

Not burning, more like a constant stitch. I will ask at 28 wk app or go to docs if it gets worse, thanks brook

SpottyTeacakes · 26/09/2012 18:19

I've found a car I like, please can everyone cross their fingers that it doesn't sell before I can get to see it on Saturday!!
