Thanks :) on me or the baby? I haven't updated my iphone for about a year because it has my labour playlist from dd on it and my itunes was wiped when I last plugged my ipod in, that got sorted but I haven't got round to writing down my playlist (I want dd to have it when she's older). In fact I think I'll do that now and then I can update my phone. I tend to put things off you see.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/09/2012 10:56

On the baby :) Yes good thing to do on this miserable rainy day. I'm going to have homemade soup for lunch then sit in waiting for our hire car, joy! Dd is not enjoying being stuck indoors today but even if we had a car I don't think I'd want to go out...

StrawberrytallCAKE · 24/09/2012 11:03

I think it's just the light and dark, dd was born with a tiny bit of hair I think...I'm wondering if she'll have bright blonde hair and blue eyes like dh when he was born or dark hair and eyes like me and dd.

dd at pre-school all day which is good as I think she'd be going a bit crazy staying in the house too. I've got a plumber here sorting out a leaky shower otherwise I would be in bed! mmm homemade soup, what are you making?

SpottyTeacakes · 24/09/2012 11:11

Just veg, that way we get our five a day in one bowl Grin

FriendofDorothy · 24/09/2012 11:28

Hi everyone, hope you are all hanging in there.

I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday when I worked out that we are unlikely to be in our house before the baby comes. We will have to stay living with my parents. I am sure it will be fine but I am a bit sad that we can't start our family life in our house :(

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 24/09/2012 11:50

Oh friend that's crappy but it's better to get it all done and nice before you move in!

28 wk appointment this afternoon!

kate2boysandabump · 24/09/2012 14:15

Have only been able to read recently as have been very busy.

Friend That's completely reasonable, I'm sure I'd be disappointed too.

Coffee Welcome

Strawberry Lovely pics

Clarella Please stop being so hard on yourself. I was off school for most of my last pregnancy and I did feel guilty to begin with, but by the end I didn't even care!!

When I had DS1 DH massaged my perineum, I still remember him doing it with the instructions in his hand Blush I had no stitches with him and I didn't do the massage with ds2, but still had no stitches. I'm hoping to maintain this record Grin

I was 28 weeks on Saturday so now officially in my last trimester, so I really think I need to pull my finger out. The nursery is still in chaos, although I did paint it today, so I guess that's a start. I've also bought a rocking chair, one of my life's ambitions realised and I'm totally in love with it, as is ds2, who has spent a lot of time rocking in it with me. Lovely snuggly times Smile Can't wait to rock my baby in it.

kate2boysandabump · 24/09/2012 14:16

Is everyone else drowning in rain? This morning on the school run, my jeans were wet to the knee! Wellies this afternoon I think.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/09/2012 14:34

Oh Friend I completely understand how you must feel, dd was 4 months when we moved into this house. On the plus side you will have recovered and settled into parenthood so be much more able to do all the things you want to with the new house :)

kate we've got rivers for roads round here but the sun has just come out!

Garage just called and the car is a write off, hire car has been dropped off but they ran over a nail on the way in so are sending a replacement car..... nightmare!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 24/09/2012 14:48

28 wk check went well, measuring spot on, baby heartbeat good and strong, urine clear and bloods taken. She wouldn't tell me which way the baby was laying Hmm but it says in my notes ceph which I'm pretty sure is head down. And I have booked a docs appt just under 2 weeks before our holiday to get my fit to fly note!

Nursery nearly finished, just green and purple to go now (and some raindrops but need to borrow a small paintbrush from the school this afternoon for those)

spotty that sounds like a nightmare! So glad you and baby are ok though, whatever else happens if it's just a written off car it can be replaced. Huge hugs to you though!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 24/09/2012 15:05

Yes it's raining raining raining here. Just got to hospital scan waiting room, people were getting road rage in the car park, some woman was shouting at me....all I did was indicate for a space. There aren't many at this hospital so it does get tight but how much of a horrible person do you have to be to get road rage in a hospital car park??

utopian99 · 24/09/2012 15:05

stacey am so jealous of your mural painting - i have half the house still to do in trade white and going faintly mad!

Looking forward to making laser-cut butterflies for the nursery wall at home though, once I'm done here. Grin

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 24/09/2012 16:11

utopian I am ignoring the fact I bought paint to do the hallway right at the beginning of the pregnancy and still haven't done it. The mural is only getting done because my mum is awesome! If it were me we might have just white walls lol

Clarella · 24/09/2012 16:15

thanks for the kind words peeps, I sort of sometimes seem to grieve for my job if that makes sense? whilst ultimately being off has been the best thing all round i've felt pretty isolated. and I too nutella am a little guilty of not telling people cos was so worried up to about 22 weeks and then so low I just didn't see anyone who didn't know. One of my oldest friends has no idea till recently and people at capoeira were almost put out when they found out last weekend when I finally saw them! Another girl in our group announced it on facebook at about 14 weeks and is about 1 week behind me, they all knew about her despite not seeing her. I must add that now I know I have nothing to worry about, just still dealing with them trying to bring my thyroid medication down slowly cos it can make me feel like utter crap. (and the main physiological cause of my anxiety/ low mood)

Friend, so sorry to hear that, I can empathise as I dont think we will get certain quite major things done in the house on time and that's difficult enough let alone not having your own home. I dont feel i've had a home for ages due to sharing with random builders and just want/need my space back.

the bloody rain!

I found the mumsnet advice on packing your hospital bag, quite amusing as well as useful :)

ellliebelle · 24/09/2012 16:15

strawb im very jealous that you are 30 weeks. Im 27 today and 30 still feels like ages away :( i have a friend who is 38 tomorrow im even more jealous of her.

stacey your mural sounds lovely would love to see a pic. My poor baby doesnt even have a cot never mind a nursery :)

The rain hasnt stopped here all day and ive had 3 school runs to do im feeling very sorry for myself. Got the central heating on now and going to snuggle with my dd's infront of the tv while our jacket potato's cook :)

itsMYNutella · 24/09/2012 16:26

Don't worry ellie we are making a corner of our flat (stupid layout with massive, giant, huge hallway) into baby corner and we don't have a cot (or loads of other stuff) ... but mostly worrying is DP's job and I stay chilled and do searches on Ebay and places for deals :)

But what I meant to say is if you saw the state that corner is in right now you wouldn't want your baby kipping there anytime soon... but we have stripped it bare and the next stage can commence... I'm just not sure when, or what exactly the next stage is Hmm

PurplePidjin · 24/09/2012 16:30

Clarella, there's a much deeper attachment to "our" kids than in mainstream - I've done both and SN environments are the ones I've found both most draining and most rewarding. I still feel guilty for leaving my first job 4 years ago, even though i was bullied out by a member of the SMT and it was leave or have a breakdown. I let those kids down by not seeing them through.

Just ate 2 mini pork pies and 110g mint aero. Oops Blush

7 months today! Well, measured from lmp, anyway. That's one thing i really don't miss :o

Clarella · 24/09/2012 16:51

Purple, You hit the nail on the head (and briefly made me cry till i clicked that link ;) )

... that made me think; Fabulous, LOL and Shiiiiiitttttt!!!!!! potentially 6 weeks to go!!!!!

very apt song, cos our chosen name has cosmic connections what with the landing in mars, transit of venus and it being a dragon year an all plus a few other major events involving very fit people and the queen. (daniel craig in particular) will have to go on the ipod for labour ;)

no nursery here either, nor a functional bathroom :)

Stacey, will you put a pic up? you too utopian - do you have a tool for that? might get DH to get one for their work so I can pinch it.

Clarella · 24/09/2012 16:53

Meant to add Purple, utter shite that happened, it never ceases to amaze me how some people who work in what should be extremely caring roles can be utter pigs.

PurplePidjin · 24/09/2012 16:57

You'll be back for yours. My teeny year 7s are now facing the big bad world of adult services Sad

Dp is in charge of my labour play list. We only argue when we're in the middle of a crisis, so "DJ" is one of a list of jobs i'm compiling to keep him out of trouble! I want lots of his reggae, and we've got lots of chill out stuff, plus a few to make me giggle at inopportune moments :o

PurplePidjin · 24/09/2012 17:00

Decent frontline staff are two a penny. Decent managers are hens teeth!

Clarella · 24/09/2012 17:15

Ime, decent frontline staff are treated as 2 a penny but are worth their weight in gold.

Clarella · 24/09/2012 17:16

"Wild Thing" might need to be on there?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 24/09/2012 17:21

clarella I will try my best with a pic, mums done an amazing job and in really pleased. Dd and ds never had a nursery do I'm feeling all lovely this one has it's own space specially decorated (not that it did the other 2 any harm, it's more about me than the baby! Lol)

Off to Zumba in a min, I can't bounce anymore coz it makes me think I need a wee when I don't! Lol pregnancy joys!
