So sorry to hear about yesterday spotty, such a horrid thing. glad its sounding like you're all ok and getting it sorted.

Aw hugs Stacey, any friends around to see you this evening? Enjoy nesting!

CODwidow · 22/09/2012 08:50

Glad everything's ok spotty

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 22/09/2012 08:50

clarella well mums down but sleeping at my brothers (down the road) as I don't have a spare room. She's helping with the decorating today. And I've got some mates watching the boxing later so if we've finished the walls and ceiling (mural to be done tomo) then I'll prob head over and watch that. Hate being home alone. But kids back tomo so I shall survive!

EggsMichelle · 22/09/2012 09:06

Spotty get lots of rest, I've only been in a little accident, but I ached a lot after! Stacey I'm having a decorating day as well, just the bathroom but its one less room to annoy me with its horrible crap paint job!

PrunellaDeVille · 22/09/2012 09:18

glad all's well spotty, you've got me welling up at the idea of your DP shielding you

Secondsop · 22/09/2012 13:33

spotty really glad to hear all is well.

clarella the annabel Karmel book arrived from my friend and I must say it looks really good - loads of ideas and nutrition advice.

Mummycox · 22/09/2012 14:02

spotty glad you're ok, take it easy over the next few days.

clarella hope decorating isn't too awful.

Quick question, LO has been doing funny shivers over the last couple of days.. Does anyone else's?

Walnut8 · 22/09/2012 14:32

I'm getting some very strange movements too ... sort of small, manic type movements. Bit worrying, I can't remember this from last time?

Clarella · 22/09/2012 14:56

Ah thanks mummycox, decorating is at least a bit better than builders hell! I think it just must be a strain with any mil and fil for any length of time, mine are really lovely but it can be tense as mil is extremely nervous (I accidently took her side plate away and she asked for it back, I gave it back with a merry oh sorry then after lunch she came up to me and apologised for fussing about a plate?! Unless I was more snappy than I thought?!? And I now know where DH gets his ridiculous spaniel like hunger from. I constantly feel like I should have offered fil tea and food 20 mins earlier from his reactions.)

I thought it looked good secondsop, on my wish list!

Spotty you may feel more bruised and more shaken over the next couple of days. My dad was in an accident, he was ok for a couple of days but it really hit a few days later both bruising and psychologically and sent his heart all haywire.

Glad there's peeps about Stacey. How long is he away for?

Yes to the shivers and manic movements but I think now there's not much space and he's definitely calming down and staying put - Hiccups are consistently where scan showed his chest to be and the bulge of his knees are always now upper right with feet in ribs (ouch!)

ISpyPlumPie · 22/09/2012 15:24

Hi everyone,

Glad to hear that scans/tests over the last couple of days have gone well and also that you are ok Spotty.

Had a letter telling me I need to contact mw about my bloods. Doesn't say what for, but almost certain it will be about iron like last time. Can't actually check until Monday, so even though it does say "don't be alarmed by this standard letter" still having a tiny irrational panic it could be something more serious.

Am feeling a bit Sad as had been really careful to get loads of iron this time - carried on taking suplements, had bucket loads of spinnach and have even been eating red meat for the first time in years. I know it's a daft to be upset about something so easily sorted but just feel I've let LO down - damn hormones making me over-react!

SpottyTeacakes · 22/09/2012 17:12

The baby shuddering is pretty common, feels very odd though! I haven't had it with this one yet

ellliebelle · 22/09/2012 17:31

I havent had any baby shuddering yet bit lots of big movements some which take me by surprise :)

This is the baby led weaning book which i have which is a lot of the theory behind how/why it works

Secondsop · 22/09/2012 17:47

Is it about now that we can expect to feel less vivid movements because the baby has less room to move?

HoneyMum21 · 22/09/2012 18:37

I'm so confused about the movement thing. Everyone told me that they don't expect to have regular patterns of movement till 28 weeks but now at 29 weeks we're expecting baby to move less?!! I'm confused!

Also a bit worried as, looking back, I still don't think I ever had man really strong movements. Can babies in there just be lazy or should I be worried that there may be something wrong with him? (sorry, paranoia getting better of me today)

monsterchild · 22/09/2012 18:47

I was told baby will move most between 27 and 32 weeks, then the room starts getting too small. If that's any help!

Mine is wobbling all over the place. Last night I was lying on the bed, and when I started sitting up, I could see where kidlet was lying because of my deformed abdomen! it was cool!

Secondsop · 22/09/2012 18:50

Honey I'm confused for exactly the same reason! Maybe the pattern we're meant to be seeing is the pattern of reduced movement from weeks 29/32? I am finding that the movement has become much less kicky (am 28+2) but is still there in a different way. They do say every baby is different so I'm sure there are many who don't feel strong movements but maybe contact your midwife if you're worried, and try the lying down and counting for 10 movements thing with a cold drink and/or a sweet snack.

I had some quite strong movement in the last few weeks, and I still get the occasional big lurchy kick but I used to get quite a few of them at the time. I also wonder whether it's the baby's position as he grows that's changing what I feel, as I don't feel him kicking my bladder anymore.

Secondsop · 22/09/2012 18:58

Hmm, monsterchild I've now worried myself because it seems like my movement has reduced/changed when it should be peaking. I'll ring up tomorrow and see what they say; I'll monitor kicks for the rest of the evening to see if it's just that i've got used to the movement and am not noticing it as much. I do seem to remember a fair amount of activity last night and this morning.

emilyeggs · 22/09/2012 20:28

I'm 26 weeks and have noticed what feels like more turning movements. My bump is so uncomfortable now, it's hard getting to sleep and staying asleep. Every morning my organs hurt and I feel like my lungs are squashed after eating and when I lay down. DH is going to get sick of me moaning soon but just feeling really sorry for myself. I don't think he's gonna be to happy when I get to the stage where I can't put my socks on and need help Sad. Also starting to get fed up of every one telling me I'm having a boy. Not that I'd mind, I just find it irritating..... If I wanted to know I would have found out (I'm being totally unreasonable). sorry ladies

EggsMichelle · 22/09/2012 21:16

Emily I must admit I am relieved I know I am having a boy cause I'm all at the front and high, which people like to point out (as if I hadn't noticed) and would be guessing he was a girl, stupid old wives crap! I know it's not ideal, but I was so uncomfortable yesterday with back ache I got in the bath and it was amazing. Plus Shrimpy's movement sent ripples across the water, very cool!

mwahmwah · 22/09/2012 21:21

Poor u Emily Sad just think, 14 weeks and u'll have a healthy brand new little human being to hold and then this bit will all be forgotten. It is uncomfortable, it is hard, bit focus onnthat end result... And tell ur hubby to f off if its inconvenient for him to help with ur socks! Hugs

Clarella · 22/09/2012 21:22

I'm a little further on and have to say each week since about 22 wks has been different. Last Monday when 30 wks I noticed he wasn't doing the usual jabs and wriggles he does at yoga, and up to about 27/28 wks I would see/feel my whole belly lurch over as I assume he turned. I had every jiggly shivery week around 28 weeks too, to the point I actually saw my belly heave out of the corner of my eye as I was driving. It's really calmed down this week so that I'm only noticing small squirms when very still lying down. I'm reassured as I felt very little on Friday yet the scan showed all was well. The sonographer said the fluid varies from person to person and also from time to time, so maybe more fluid, more space to swing? Believe me I can worry with the best of them though! I was told any movement is still movement so good to notice it but not panic. Dunno if that helps?

My god it is actually getting hard to get to toes, simply that I just don't fold in the middle anymore! I don't think I look much bigger its just more restrictive

Emily that would annoy me. "well its definately not a goat" or "im having a baby" might work?

emilyeggs · 22/09/2012 21:31

Thanks ladies, I know people are going to guess, it's normal, it's just some people say it so matter of factly "it's a boy" like they couldn't possibly be wrong! Angry

SpottyTeacakes · 22/09/2012 21:33

I got the rage when I found out we're having a boy and people said 'Oh I knew it' 'I told such and such I bet it's a boy' etc etc Grrrr they have got 50% chance of guessing it right!

Secondsop · 22/09/2012 21:36

Yes thanks ladies for all your comments about movements. emily I hope you're not in too much discomfort for the rest of it - not too many weeks to go now.

monsterchild · 22/09/2012 21:36

secondsop, my kidlet goes through "calm" periods where I feel nothing, or just little tickles. Then later it will feel like a mosh pit in there.

I was told less than 4 movements per hour, or 8 per 2 hours is worth a phone call. I guess babies start to sleep longer now. (Please, please let this one be a sleeper!)
