Sooo groupon offer of £99 for 4d scan with 15 min DVD and 8 snaps... Do I bite the bullet and grab it while it's on? I got a 4d pic of ds at my 20 wk scan last time and was awe-struck but a hundred quid's a hundred quid I should probably be spending on something else... Hmmmm???

emilyeggs · 22/09/2012 22:27

mwah I would go for it! You'll have one to show both of them then Grin

Mummycox · 22/09/2012 23:00

Thank you for the reassurance ladies. Shivers are normal, hiccups are little flicks and kicks are twangs, which may reduce after about 32 weeks.

Just scared DH by saying 37 weeks is considered full term. Ha. Nursery may get started now.

I'd go for the 4d scan again, anytime.

Secondsop · 23/09/2012 00:21

Sometimes I think my baby is psychic - I was lying in bed worrying about how he wasn't as lively as normal and then, 3 kicks to belly button area, 2 on my left side, and he's still moving around now.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/09/2012 01:21

Can't sleep Sad I'm really stressed and when I do fall asleep I just wake up sweating after having nightmares about bloody car insurance Hmm

pmgkt · 23/09/2012 07:37

Oh spotty I do things like that, and in your head you know its such a silly thing to worry about cos you can do anything about it, and especially at that time of night.

HoneyMum21 · 23/09/2012 07:39

Oh dear spotty. Hope you managed to get some sleep.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/09/2012 07:43

Did get some sleep thanks and going to have chocolate pancakes for breakfast Grin then to call the legal cover people

brooke89 · 23/09/2012 08:19

ladies, Braxton Hicks.... Is it too early for them? I'm 28+3 and feel like I have horrific cramp in my right side only?! Trying not to freak out :S should I call someone?

SpottyTeacakes · 23/09/2012 08:29

Hmm doesn't sound like braxton hicks to me. Front or back side? Could be bladder or kidney infection? How is baby moving? Could it be more of a trapped nerve?

brooke89 · 23/09/2012 08:53

Front right quite low - it feels like I've got a really bad stitch? No movement this morning Sad I'll ring the doctor else I'm going to make myself sick with worry!

SpottyTeacakes · 23/09/2012 09:04

I would just call labour ward. They will have an OB there and will be able to give you better advice than a GP (who would probably just send you there anyway). In sure it's all fine best to be checked. Do the old having a cold drink etc to see if that gets you movement Smile

knottyhair · 23/09/2012 09:08

Brooke, hope you get some reassurance soon my love, I'm sure it's fine, I seem to get all sorts of odd pains. But best get it checked out. Spotty, sorry you had such a crap night but not surprising given what happened. Hope you get some joy with the legal cover people.

HoneyMum21 · 23/09/2012 09:09

Hmmm, I'm having braxton hicks like tightening and lower back pain... Should I be worried? Lots of movement this morning and had about 3 of these in the past hour.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/09/2012 09:20

I wouldn't worry Honey but that's just me! In my limited experience it's normal Smile

HoneyMum21 · 23/09/2012 09:23

Thanks! Just haven't had ones which come with pain before! Baby still feels quite high up so am (totally by guesswork) assuming that's a good sign that he's not planning on making an appearance just yet!

PrunellaDeVille · 23/09/2012 09:29

MW told me Braxton Hicks completely fine and dandy but if they're accompanied by pain each time then get yourself checked out

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 23/09/2012 09:35

Honey my braxton hicks are occasionally accompanied by back pain. It's normally if I've been over doing it during the day. But the midwife said as long as its not accompanied by bleeding/becomes regular/waters break etc it's not a problem.

spotty I can't imagine how horrible it is, my brain wakes me up worrying about random stuff that doesn't matter and that's bad enough!

Ok so is it bad to admit that I'm sleeping better without DH here? I don't know if it's because I've just exhausted myself both days but last night I slept so soundly. It was amazing!

Got to put the mural on the babies walls today (well mums has, sinshines and rainbows and clouds are far far beyond what I can manage with a paintbrush! Then just to gloss the door frame and the skirting and then it's finished!!

I went to an nct nearly new yest and picked up a few more bits. My SIL is 17 weeks and came too but said shes not buying until after 20 weeks. But I now have a swaddle blanket (only had swaddle pod before) some baby towels (£3 for 4!!) some extra Muslins (50p for 4!) and a breastfeeding coverup thingy (which was all I really needed!) this poor child is spoilt already and it's not born yet!!

mwahmwah · 23/09/2012 11:09

4d scan booked for next Sunday, pee my pants excited (but I have nothing on 6yr old dd who is bouncing around the room!) super bargain price of £190 reduced to £74 wow Grin xxx

Clarella · 23/09/2012 13:32

Sorry you had a worried night spotty hope you're getting sorted.

honey it could be because you've been so poorly and a little dehydrated cos you're body has been multitasking trying to grow a human and battle an infection. If it keeps happening i'd call someone just to double check?

Excited for you mwah we're not doing one but I'm very nosey about other peoples!

Just sorted through piles of old clothes to decide if charity shop or patching/upcycling potential (where they'll stay for another 15 years cos I bet I never do anything) but seem to have developed a fetish for making cushions :/ must try and plan my idea for a mobile but nothing's especially bright enough for that plus let's face it gotta million other things to plan for!

Secondsop · 23/09/2012 13:34

brooke I have been getting Braxton hicks from about 25-26 weeks so I don't think yours are too early. (Mine are completely painless - just a tightening / hardening of my whole tummy).

Stacey my husband is away for work and although I badly miss him, it is nice having the bed to myself (well apart from the cat). Good work in the nearly new sale -there was one near me yesterday too (we may be in the same area) but I'm planning to go to the one in November.

Clarella · 23/09/2012 13:36

Movement today is biiiig slooow stretches, using my right ribs to push against. Feels like when a dog does those big sleepy leg stretches in their basket. Or he's trying some sun salutations.

utopian99 · 23/09/2012 14:09

Hope everyone's having a good weekend? Was down seeing old school friends, one of which was also my bridesmaid and is pg as well (16 weeks,) which is ace. Grin only bummer is we live in cities a good 2.5 hours apart, but imagine once I've pulled myself together after club's born I'll be able to potter down for visits..

Fell over yesterday like an idiot, managed to catch myself on hands and knees only but bump went super hard for the next 20 minutes. Have been feeling movement since then though, so assuming all is now well?

Secondsop · 23/09/2012 14:14

Hi utopian, if you're in any doubt I'd say ring the midwife who will tell you if you need to come in to be assessed.

mwahmwah · 23/09/2012 14:31

All the braxton Hicks chat has got me thinking, yep mine come pretty regularly too but are totally painless. I never experienced them with either of my other children so they are a bit off-putting. Its a weird sensation isn't it?
