Look forward to hearing for you soon Smile

Hi all,

Can I join you? I'm due Dec 17th!

Twirly

lennied · 09/05/2006 10:39

Hi twirlygirl and congratulations. Thanks for everyones advice on my Mum - have still not told her, but planning on telling her soon, just need to find the right moment.

Have had a bit of MS this week, not dreadful, but feel queasy most of the time. Also am having to shop for food practically every other day since can't stomach most of my favourite foods. Just going with what I can manage and trying to have loads of fruit and veg. Last night I had a vegetable spring roll with broccoli, mashed swede and brussel sprouts!! A bit of a strange combination.

Spinamum - my hair seems to have taken on a life of its own too. One minute it looks all clean and freshly washed and then an hour later I look like I've stuck my head in a fryer (well not quite that bad but YKWIM). Hormones fault I think.

Hope everyone is ok and only a few more weeks to go until some of us reach 12 weeks.

Carameli · 09/05/2006 16:17

Hi all, popping in to say hi and hope everyone is well here. I am very busy with a very active 2.5yr dd and also trying to keep our flat looking lovely and tidy as we have put it on the market last week and are having so many viewings, which is great but hard work keeping it looking perfect with a toddler so baby einstein dvds have been used quite a bit recently.

Still getting ms and really a bit fed up that I am going off some of my fav foods like sun dried tomatoes or sweet chilli dipping sauce with lime.

Lennied: hope it goes well with you mum when you tell her. I am sure she will be pleased for you.

Carameli · 09/05/2006 16:19

oops sorry Hi Twirlygirl and welcome. I am due 18th Dec.

yomellamoHelly · 09/05/2006 19:01

Just found this and would like to join in - am pg with 2nd due on 19th (I reckon). Ds is 2.5 and whilst he doesn't sleep any more has rediscovered "quiet time" (SO tired some days!). Can't believe no-one's spotted I'm pg to tell the truth. Have already put on half a stone and definitely have that shape. Took 15 months to get here so everyone knows I've been ttc too! Grin

spinamum · 09/05/2006 20:20

Welcome to the gang!

Have you told many peeps, yomellamoHelly? I've been ttc for a yr and now am pratically avoiding pals so i don't have to lie or tell them before i get to the magic 12.

I also have lost any sense of non pg shape. Almost put away my skinny tops yesterday( which I havn't worn for months anyway!) but thought I might be tempting fate.

yomellamoHelly · 09/05/2006 20:36

Hi spinamum - thanks for the welcome.
Haven't exactly told anyone, but a couple of people have asked how we're getting on to which I've replied that "I'm sure it'll happen before long". If they've read anything into it they've not probed me any further thank goodness.
Having ds already makes me feel so aware of who this one could become and so afraid of losing them.
Dh is convinced it'll all be fine and can't wait to shout from the rooftops.

jabberwocky · 09/05/2006 20:41

Hi caramaelli and yomellamoHelly. I've got a 2.7 year old and it's definitely more tiring this time around! We're waiting until after the amnio to tell him the news, but I'm pretty sure he knows something is different. I'm much queasier this time around, which doesn't help matters. Drinking ginger tea atm.

Debbsy · 10/05/2006 01:55

welcome to twirly and yomello.
Up again today ms started at 12am this morn.
Scan on monday.

Carameli · 10/05/2006 12:58

Hi jabberwocky, I agree its much more tiring this time round. I guess the last time we only had to worry about ourselves. I am just counting my blessings that my dd(2.5) still loves sleeping in the day.
I ahven't put on that much weight yet as really been off my food but my shape is still changing quite a bit. Have to say I did not expect too look quite so pregnant at this early stage. Do you think its because its a 2nd pregnancy?
I keep thinking oh gosh what if its twins, but they don't run in either side of the family.

jabberwocky · 10/05/2006 13:04

I was getting a little concerned as I have already gained 5 or 6 pounds and felt soooo incredibly tired all the time. I look like I have a big beer gut Sad. But, the doc called yesterday and my thyroid levels are really low already, so they upped my synthroid and that should improve things. I'm so glad now that I chose an OB who brings you in early. I got my blood work done at 8 weeks instead of 10-12 like last time. Can't imagine going another month like this.

Of course, there is still the issue of chasing around after a 2 year old, so I'm not expecting miracle Grin

Carameli · 10/05/2006 13:11

Debsy, hope you are feeling a bit better.
Also just seen your other thread in the pregnancy area.(hope its the same person). Is this your 1st?
You are bound to be temperamental at times right now, blame it on the hormones.
I remember when I was pregnant with my dd, I really became irritated by a guy I worked with and was supervising. I felt awful about it but could help myelf snapping sometimes. It was great when I could tell them I was pregnant and apologise for being so horrid.

Now I am at home I tend to have evenings when I am snappy and dh just knows I am in a bad mood so to just let things go a bit in these first months. Its gets better I promise.

calsworld · 10/05/2006 13:57

Carameli - nice to hear from someone who's been here before that I'm not pregnant with the devil incarnate who is trying to turn me into the most evil witch on the planet....does this fade at 12 weeks like the MS? I want to be me again!

Carameli · 10/05/2006 14:47

calsworld, I remember getting upset about silly things later on but definitely don't think I was quite as moody and snappy with people.
I think dh would probably agree and holding is also holding out hope that it goes away with the magical 12week point.

cupcakes · 10/05/2006 14:47

I've got a scan at epau on Fri because of my slight spotting. The mw didn't seem worried but said she'd book me in to reassure me. Having said I didn't want an early scan I'm now really glad.

I've also put on about 5/6 pounds - my weight always goes on my tummy so I really do look a bit pg now. Am having to wear v loose tops. Can't wait to tell friends the truth of it.

lennied · 10/05/2006 16:07

Hi everyone,

Just stopping in to say hi - glad (not the right word I know, but it'll have to do, no offence intended) that everyone is starting to notice a bit of weight gain, I have already put on 4 pounds and this is my first!! According to everything I read I shouldn't be showing for months yet, but I guess that is just another reason to throw the pregnancy book out the window.

All these scans!! I am at the hospital a week today to see the consultant as I have a pre-existing medical condition. I have no idea what to expect but am kind of hoping for some kind of definate indication that I am not imagining this. I also hope that it isn't going to be an intrusive consultation as (TMI) I will have been at work all day by then and in this weather seem to be sweating profusely now that I'm pg. Ha Ha!! Hope you are all well, and welcome to all the new people.

Also I am kind of thinking we need a new thread - this one is getting a bit cumbersome on my dial-up internet.

Debbsy · 10/05/2006 17:53

hi carmeli yes it was me on the other thread, thanks for the advice feel a bit better today, and yes it is our very long awaited first we tried for 2 years. Grin

yomellamoHelly · 10/05/2006 20:45

Hi everyone!
Anyone else been enjoying the sun today? Invested in a sandpit for the garden and ds is just obsessed with sandcastles. Started to feel nostalgic about the last of our one on one time together today!
Have also just scoffed a small chips from the chippy that's a few doors down on the basis that since I was fantasising about having some (you can smell it in the air if the wind's in the right direction from about 12:30 on) my pg body must need them. Dh also out at the mo so no conscience around to talk me into something healthier!

Devongirl · 11/05/2006 12:47

I am worried because I don't feel sick and my breasts don't hurt - should I be worried? I felt awful up til about 2 days ago. I hope it's not a bad sign. This is my first pregnancy and I think I am neurotic now but I don't know. Help?

Carameli · 11/05/2006 13:02

Hi Devongirl, don't panic yet. you might just be having a good couple of days. I couple of weeks ago my symptoms vanished and I got worried but they came back even worse a few days later.
I think we all worry about things like this. I am a second timer and am still calling my gp about the silliest of worries.

If you are still worried in a couple of days why not go and see your gp or phone them and ask. Your hormones are raging around your body right now so I think its more likely a case of having some good days and some bad days.

I was in a painick today as I have hardly put any weight on compared to when I had my daughter but my gp told me that some women don't put much on at all in the 1st trimester and some even loose it. made me feel a bit more reassured.

Carameli · 11/05/2006 13:03

oops bad typos there Grin

Carameli · 11/05/2006 13:04

off to cut the grass while my dd(2.5yrs) is asleep and not running around me Grin

Olihan · 11/05/2006 14:46

Hello everyone, can't believe how many of us there are now. Do you think there will be more joining after the 12 week mark?

I had a consultant appointment today as I have hypothyroidism (low thyroid) and I had a scan - it was so lovely to see my little bean! It's 1.05cm so the picture is pretty much life size. It's so amazing! I'm officially 7 weeks and 2 days so my due date is now Boxing Day!

How is everyone feeling at the moment? I've had a few better days of not feeling so sick but vv tired now. It's not helped by dd's teething and ds being a stresshead in the night. Still, can hog all the lie ins over the weekend Grin
