Which also arrived from seraphine (they had 20% off) and I might wear the PJ's I got in the sale tonight too. This weekend I will be packing away my clothes and just leave out what fits.

Sheldonella · 19/09/2012 16:38

Great idea sundae I keep meaning to get around to that. Better than having to search through loads of things every morning.

theTramp · 19/09/2012 17:51

I've done that - my wardrobe is terribly bear. Lots of empty hangers.

Seraphine had 20% off?! When? And why did no-one tell me?!

mandasand · 19/09/2012 17:51

Hello everyone! This is first time writing from phone so will keep it short! Just to say have had fab day in London today. Colleagues laughed at my designer wheelie ladies briefcase thing but I don't care! My back was so happy and the pain-ache in my left hip ( only when I walk more than half a mile?) was a lot better without big rucksack. Oh and I got two baby on board badges! Wasn't sure where to put them as wasn't wearing a coat! DH is getting on my train at reading and hopefully can be persuaded to eat out :-) Sorry not to namecheck but is v tricky on phone!

theTramp · 19/09/2012 17:56

So saw consultant this pm. Was REALLY upset with MrM because on teh way there he managed to get pulled over by the police for talking on his mobile phone. I have been having a go at him for 4 years about this and we'd already been delayed by traffic and I am exhausted and nauseous. So by the time we got to hospital, 15 mins late, I was ready to just find a corner, curl up and ask everyone to go away.

Anyway, consultant has set a GTT scan date, said all seems well and asked me why I wasn't on any drugs for the PCOS. That would be because no one ever suggested there were any to assist. Fcks sake. Two years ago I had a year of tests for every bloody horror under the sun and not once did anyone think to say - well heck maybe its just her pcos making her feel rubbish lets give her something to help with that.

Anyway, I'm now in bed with two cats sleepily seething (me not the cats)

backwardpossom · 19/09/2012 18:50

Ah Tramp sounds like a shitty day all round. DH needs to bring you something nice in bed (hot choc?) to make up for things, methinks.

manda I ended up with an outie last time around and it's never been the same since, sorry to tell you. It did go back in, but never looked as cute as before! DS has a proper outie which is quite funny. I have noticed my belly button coming further forward again this time, so I don't think it'll be too long before it pops out. I have a very hairy belly (did last time too - apparently it's a sign of a boy?) but there's no sign of a linea negra yet. I'm sure it's not far away. As if pregnancy wasn't glamorous enough...

15+5... Feeling very tired today. Zzz - probably just work and crappy meetings and the like. Oh and I have my OU exam on Monday to look forward to. Eek!

OodHousekeeping · 19/09/2012 19:12

Felt like a really long day at work today and still haven't caught up!
Currently breastfeeding a wriggling toddler (clutching a paint pallet Hmm) then once she's settled I can have tea!

lannyshrops · 19/09/2012 20:01

sarah a boy! Amazing! Are you the first in our group to find out for definite? I so can't wait to find out! I'm secretly jealous!

I have taken all my normal clothes out of the wardrobe, its very bear but I feel much more organised now! Speaking of organised I have beans name down for our local nursery! To be honest, I didn't even give it a thought but SIL recommended we do it so we did! I'm surprising myself with my organisational skills recently, this is much more like my old self, hooray for second trimester! (but sorry to all of you who are struggling today :-( )

IWantAChipButty · 19/09/2012 20:39

Sarah a boy how exciting! I can't wait until everyone starts finding out. I don't even have a date for my 20 week scan yet, I'm too impatient I want to know now!

I can't remember who said it but I did the laughing then hysterical crying thing the other night, I get like that sometimes with pmt anyway so luckily Dh is used to me.

JoJo I think in your situation I would be worried about the cyst bursting if its grow quite a bit already. I have a cyst on each ovary but have been told they are not the fluid filled kind and have probably been there for years so I can have them out after the baby is born. Plus if yours causing you pain already then it might hurt more once the baby grows and squashes it?

I thought I had avoided the cold going round the office but woke up feeling rotten today, urgh. Has anyone got any magic remedies for being ill when pregnant? I can't have lemsip can I?

lannyshrops · 19/09/2012 20:53

Sorry chip no lemsip, I don't use it but from what I remember it had decongestant in it and that's a no no I think. I've has a cold all week and just taken some paracetamol and been using Vicks. Feel better soon xxx

tedmundo · 19/09/2012 21:25

Congrats sarah .. How lovely to start thinking about your boy and buying a few bits?!

I bought a lovely jumper dress in Mothercare today, dark grey cable knit, I will try to link to it.

Then purchased some lush new turquoise accessories and then (my billy bargain) snapped up some Pretty Polly cable knit dark red tights to go with my knee high boots!

I can't wait to get it all on. BUT, you fashion conscious ladies.... To belt or not to belt??!! And if so, thick or thin? And a co-ordinating red yes?

sundaesundae · 19/09/2012 21:34

Ooh Ted, I have been coveting that dress, what is the fit like? Does it feel like there is room for growth? Your bits and pieces sound lovely :o)

How much stuff are people buying clothes wise?

I have

2 dresses (work for office and home)
1 pair black work trousers
2 jeans (both way too long and a bit disasterous)
1 denim skirt
1 cord skirt
2 pair leggings

I think I want some tops and jumpers, the grey jumper dress and a couple of work bits.

Chip feel better, seems like several of us are sickening at the moment.

OOD I hope you got some tea!

tedmundo · 19/09/2012 21:48

sundae .. It is roomy, I pulled it out a bit to mimic bigger bump and it was fine. I am still in normal stuff on the bottom (all my jeans are hipsters so sit under bump) and have 4 maternity tops to go with normal stuff that still fits. I am SAHM though so no need for smart day to day.

Managed to get a midwife app for tomorrow now. Yay.

backwardpossom · 19/09/2012 21:54

Nice dress ted! I ordered myself some bits and pieces in the Next sale earlier (I had a VIP slot, spent a fortune on DS so decided to treat myself too!) so hopefully it'll all be nice so I don't have to put anything back.

theTramp · 19/09/2012 22:00

Sarah - v exciting. Are you already wittling down names?

If say the cable would be better without a belt. But if you did have one thin wouldn't show up against the cable so go thick and I it's charcoal then black, purple or red would work.

MrM got home late from drumming lesson so plans for a mini roast and vaguely healthy dinner scuppered. Instead he popped to chippy for me. He woke me up to eat and now I'm back in bed again. I'm properally fed up with meh days and being this tired. I felt like my era were burning it was such an effort to keep them open. (grumble, grumble, grumble).

Breakfast meet at 8am tomorrow - unsociable hour - so hoping fo sleep tonight. 3 nights of bad sleep would surely be too cruel?!

Sorry I'm being a right moaning min.

theTramp · 19/09/2012 22:01

Or even I'd say.. If say?! Bah.

mandasand · 19/09/2012 22:36

Right, have had a chance for a good catch up with everyone's news!

Emus I sent an email re NCT and am on a class starting Nov (they wanted me in soon as it's twins who may come early). Just give them a call and see - bet it's not too late! Glad you got the FB email - is lovely on there if you can be tempted!

Tramp did you mean to say 'great brutish bake-off' or was it a predictive text-typo?! Thought it was so funny - 'ooh they were so brutish about those strudels'! Grin Glad you've got close-by mates with one on the way! How lovely. Sorry about the bad day. As your MrM one of those handsfree kits or does he not like them? What's a GTT scan? Are you def. getting meds for the PCOS now then? Hope you sleep well.

Yay for your boy Sarah!

backward ohhhh v. sad re belly button! It's kind of poetic, as that is how we came into the world and then it all changes when we become mums ourselves Smile How are you feeling about the exam? Is it the oral? You're going to do just fine, don't worry!

Sheldon usually one coffee is enough to get me through all day, especially now I'm off the sleepy antihistamines and have got 2nd trimester burst of energy! If I have a second, as occasionally I do, I just feel ragged and yuk at the end of the day so I try to avoid it, but I don't think it will do any harm.

ted nice jumper-dress!

Lanny that's organised re nursery! Would you advise doing it now? Crikey. There is a lovely Montesorri (sp) nursery ½ a mile away but it's private and with two ? there's no way! Had a quick look at schools in the area on the council website recently and got a bit depressed as all the primaries are big on their Christian ethos right on first page of websites. I'm atheist/humanist (I went to v. religion-focused Catholics convents-nursery/primary schools/ex-priests' training college big school/plus Polish school on Saturdays (!) but the indoctrination never stuck even as a kid) and DH is firmly agnostic/verging on atheist). He wonders whether they are bigging up their religious affiliation as there's a common perception that CoE schools are academically good? There is one primary which says they are welcoming to all faiths and none, which sounds perfectly acceptable to me and DH but it's v.v. popular and we're not quite in the catchment area. Ah well, I guess it's too early to be too worried about schools tho!

I so need to sort my wardrobe and chest of drawers out! They were close to bursting before I bought the maternity clothes and undies and now stuff is everywhere, grr! Just need a good afternoon to do it.

Had a lovely evening. Went to a lovely microbrewery pub in town and I had the best cheese and leek pie with baby pots and the most amazing piccalilli. Then DH cleaned the bath, ran the bath and then got me a hot choc afterwards. I actually cried cos I felt to well looked after. So, to all those who are crying a lot ? me too! Anything can set me off - sad things, happy things, hilarious things, you name it!

mandasand · 19/09/2012 22:37

I meant, I actually cried cos I felt so well looked after (d'oh!)

ThreeForTea · 19/09/2012 22:57

Hello, quick one as its past my bedtime due to my 6.30 am start. Have had to have a break for a couple of days, have been doing some vigurous housework. Not sure if its early nesting or just the shame of not being able to do anything for the last two months kicking in! Seriously was just looking at all the grubbiness and thinking ewww, does dh not see this?? My mil who was meant to come at the weekend ended up cancelling, bless the Lord so didn't have to put up with her at least.

Congratulations on your boy Sarah! How exciting. I need to wait until the 23rd of October to find out which is ages.

Very impressed with the name down for nursery btw lanny!

Manda belly button changes are the weirdest, mine has popped so my piercing looks stupid but not painful yet so will keep it in as a stretched pierce hole looks even more dreadful. Why was I not thinking about this when I had it done aged 19?? :)

Ted clothes sound lovely!

theTramp · 20/09/2012 07:22

3fortea I want that burst of energy! Place is a tip and presently haven't the energy to tackle it.

Mand - bless your OH for looking after you so well and cheese & leek pie sounds fantastic. Sadly no on the PCOS meds BUT I do now know to ask for them post pregnancy should problems rearise. And brutish was indeed a typo - it's a good one though!

Early start this morning which I'll pay for later I think.

Lanny - nursery already, impressive!

Manda - yes to theplaying it up for academic reasons I think. Best schools round here seemto be church school. This has meant religion being discussed for first time. Im CoE but basically I'm a Christian with no great fondness for bigotry in any faith and stopped going to church when I was 18 because I had issues with some of the pov expressed. MrM is catholic, albeit not that bothered, but also a Belfast boy.. So no stepping foot in a Protestant church etc (sigh). On one level I get it, on the other - give me strength. This is politics not faith.

Right must away. Hope you all slept well and are doing ok today ladies.

OodHousekeeping · 20/09/2012 09:17

Am exhausted still ( and getting worse Hmm), just phoned GPs to get bloods from booking in appointment in case I was anaemic and no one contacted me and they don't have them 'check with your MW' ' but I don't have one' 'phone path lab rhen' do have to wait until later as they are really busy in the mornings .

Sheldonella · 20/09/2012 09:37

Hospital today! Is it bad that I'm looking forward to it so I can get out of work for a bit? Still no idea what the appointment is about but the mystery will be solved soon enough.
ted That is a lovely dress. I keep meaning to order from mothercare as I tried on a lovely one in the shop. The tights sound nice, where did you find them?
sundae That is a good amount of clothes, about what I was planning to get. So far I have 1 pear of wearable jeans, 2 dresses, 4 pairs of tights and 2 pairs of leggings. I'm planning to get a denim skirt, coat, at least 1 more dress and some tops. I think that should do for me.
lanny I have been thinking about nurseries too. There is a montessori nursery opposite my office that I like the look of but I don't know what sort of working hours I will go back to. How much do they want to know at this stage?
manda Sounds like you had a lovely evening. I've been thinking about schools too. Luckily we have two good schools near us but no idea what the catchment areas are.
Well done on the housework three. I have been leaving it all to DH so it is about time I did some again.

sundaesundae · 20/09/2012 09:54

I am wearing my denim skirt today, it isn't quite as short as I thought as it is under bump, looked in mirror and shitting hell, I loook VERY obviously pregnant. When did that happen? 14 weeks now, so I suppose things are just beginning to pop. Belly feels very different, it used to be quite wobbly (was a 14/16 before preggo) and now is really quite firm all over.

Off sick again today, my eye infection seems to have knocked me for six, so decided it is best just to look after myself and relax. I have managed to get a load of washing on, so did something!

Sheld - not bad at all, I am being the same, any excuse to be out of work at the mo!

Ood - me too! Could sleep for england, but not anaemic, just waiting for the surge!

sundaesundae · 20/09/2012 10:06

Next VIP sale had a good lot of maternity things in! All I need now is a coat. Have spent £140 on 13 items, but will probably send some things back, worth a look though!
