Good luck for tomorrow lisbeth not that you need it! I like alexa as a name too but can see what you mean....
I never had any special clothes for breastfeeding, just relatively loose stuff thwt I could pull up. Didn't worry tooooo much about being discreet to be honest, once you've got baby attached they cover up most of what needs covering - but a lot of it probably depends on what you feel comfortable doing....
Names..... Still thoroughly undecided. Like Elizabeth and Francesca for a girl it dh not so certain. He likes Natalie for a girl but I'm not so sure about that. Thinking we may have to wait and see what the baby looks like but can imagine us getting to him / her being 6 weeks old and having no name!
Can understand the feeling of being a bit vulnerable posting somewhere which is public especially when we are sharing quite private and personal feelings - I sometimes get that a bit - but also I don't logically feel like I need to worry too much.
Take care everyone xxx

hufflepuffle · 23/09/2012 17:37

Cwest that is a lovely name!! Aaaaargh!! 1 day.......! Look forward to your news!!!!

Lisbeth not even vaguely patronising!! Just good to hear someone knows vaguely what we mean, it is pathetic!! And u know, I did not know the Steven Stephen comparison.... But makes sense! Stuff and nonsense!!!!!! Has my skimming reading made me totally useless at absorbing.......??? Is your induction tmrw???? Well very very best for tomorrow!! Xx

Yomping how annoying on jeans!! Grrrrrr! I was just gonna say that I will totally miss all these maternity clothes as I have gone for over the bump every time!! Bit annoying in early days but now I fill them, loving!! I struggle to fit trousers at best if times and usually waist is so low. All these high cuddly waists r lovely!! My pain in bum long legs mean I have total of 4 lower layers: 2 leggings, 1 jeans and 1 skinny trousers. They are wearing thin!! Actually bought a new pair of the jeans from next sale the other day cos it was a miracle that they fit and should I ever get upduffed again I will be glad of them!! And under no illusions of instant figure return either.......!

But bless you pulling boots on and off in shops..... I have been traumatised by the change from slip in shoes to socks...... So hard!! And only wearing long pull on boots, no way I can do any zip up ones. So you are not alone!

Just in from one very productive very gratifying day at work. SOOO on top of things, well chuffed. And DH has made some lovely spiced roast sweet potato soup for dinner. Good day! And off tmrw!!

Sorry not to post more, mostly all seeming bit more upbeat today, keep it up! According to diary, yesterday was Autumn equinox (I think....) and I love this time of year!

Off to slurp some lovely soup!!!!

Xx

hufflepuffle · 23/09/2012 17:40

Oh and I never even thought about BF clothes past first few days in PJs...... And I am such a bloody prude.......... So caught up in the will it work or not dilemma....!! Will work something out!!!

Cherrychopsticks · 23/09/2012 18:02

I'm really overdue a proper catch up, but it's way past my bed time and I'm back at work tomorrow after my week off...
Also got a bit of a dodgy Internet connection at the mo, so want to post this before I lose it all!
Sorry I haven't posted for a while, I have been reading and thinking of you all though.
So just want to say good luck and best wishes to all those whose lives are changing tomorrow and on Tuesday (in case I don't manage to write tomorrow)! Thanks
It's so exciting but must be very scary and overwhelming too, hope you all manage to get some rest and enjoy your last pregnant moments.
Will be waiting impatiently for updates!
Take care all Grin

crazypaving · 23/09/2012 18:57

Yes, good luck everyone tomorrow and Tuesday! Yikes!!!

MrsConfusion · 23/09/2012 19:01

Good luck to the first arrivals, can't believe it's nearly here! Will be thinking of you all v much tomorrow and Tues.

Two quick questions for all of you who've done lots of research - any thoughts on good baby monitors (we don't want a video one, just sound) or on baby-carriers? We're trying to sort out those bits and I'm sure you ladies had lots of experience but can't find the right bits of the past threads!

Hugs to all of you, so proud of everyone and so love hearing all your thoughts and news and feelings. Such a supportive group of bean-bakers!

Smorgs · 23/09/2012 19:11

Just a quick post from me as I'm about to put supper on the table - good luck to all of you who will be finally meeting your little beans tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you all. I hope your experiences are everything you want them to be. 'See' you on the other side!

LoopyLa · 23/09/2012 19:15

Good luck for tomorrow & Tuesday ladies!! Smile

Waiting impatiently to hear how everything went Smile

firstbubba · 23/09/2012 19:51

hufflepuffle · 23/09/2012 20:10

mrsconfusion we did buy a video monitor by BT but trailed thru lots first. Amazon was def the best for multiple reviews and good prices, regardless of video or sound or movement types. Baby carrier we bought on eBay, a baby bjorn air one as I am not very strong and DH gets v warm so thought a lightweight one would be good. Not totally sure how much we will use so didn't want to spend the fortune that baby bjorn are new!! Bit smelly, despite the sellers description.... But washed beautifully and really is like new. Loads out there of all brands tho, we did not explore other brands.

Kyyria · 23/09/2012 20:22

Good luck to all those who will be meeting their beans over the next few days. Hope all goes to plan and is calm and serene.

Look forward to hearing your news once you are settled x

MickeyTheShortOne · 23/09/2012 20:39

Good luck to those meeting babbas in the next couple of days- I will be thinking of you all and being insanely jealous, still have one frigging month to go. hope you are all ok and not worrying too much. Drink lots of tea and enjoy lots of post-natal treats- I CANNOT WAIT FOR A DECENT GLASS OF WINE!!

Angelico · 23/09/2012 20:40

Quick post ladies - making soup and it is nearly ready nom nom! :o We have ordered this Angelcare Monitor - has sensor mat and sound but no video (the one with all 3 is about 200 quid!). Gets good reviews and girl in work had it and was delighted with it. Had an Amazon voucher I was able to use up for it...

Squeeeeeeeeee for Lisbeth :o Thanks

crazypaving · 23/09/2012 20:41

mrsconfusion if you're planning to use a baby carrier a lot, I'd recommend an Ergo with newborn insert over the babybjorn. More supportive and versatile. Moby wraps are great for new babies.

And fwiw we have a BT 150 for DS, it's great. And have just got the newest BT (250?) for DC2, so there's no interference!

ShellWeDance · 23/09/2012 20:42

Will do a proper catch up soon but wanted to add my good luck and thoughts to everyone meeting their babies in the next few days. So exciting and can't wait to hear all the news and stories xxx

firstbubba · 23/09/2012 20:47

mrsconfusion i would agree with the Ergo carrier but watch out there are a lot of fakes out there

londonlivvy · 23/09/2012 21:03

Good luck to all those meeting their babies in next few days. Hope all goes well.

xx

Running in to give Lisbeth the big bean baking thumbs up, good to go, signal. Can't believe the first one of us is so nearly there. Come back and report as soon as you are up to it. Will be sending you 'shell it like a pea' vibes tomorrow. I am still toying with induction vs ELCS so also very selfishly interested in hearing how you get on.

Just in case I don't get back before Tuesday also sending big thumps on the back to Angelico and Cwest. Also can't wait to hear how you rated the ELCS as an option to help be in my eternal dilemma on birthing options. I will be back to give more timely good luck pats to Elpis

Bella I am also still working and our DD are at about the same time. I has intended to do at least 2 weeks more but if my sweep at 37 weeks is successful I will need to revisit this. (Or give birth in the workplace). I didn't want to hang about being bored but now I think I may have swung too wildly the other way as my consultant has made it clear that this pregnancy will not go beyond 39 weeks so god darn it I do want some time off. Official finish date 19/10 and this is also likely to be the absolute last date for delivery of this baby. Need to sort this out!

Wading in on some topics since I last visited... Angelico I also didn't have much in the way of special BF clothes. Easy access is the key so buttons good and like someone else said vests under things with buttons very good. Pulling tops up can be a little embarrassing if you are concerned about exposing mumtum which can be a bit wobbly and jelly like at first so this combo means you can cover you belly and your boobs. Glad you are feeling better after a good cry. Don't worry about the name - there is no hurry and it will come to you when you meet them - honest it will.

Monitors - I will go and look at mine. To be honest unless you live in a mansion I have now realised they are not really necessary but I got a pretty cheap one which has done me and a couple of friends proud so I will dig it out and check the make.

I also totally get the sharing too much on threads to be outed in real life. Not with the ladies on here who I would gladly share (and do share way TMI) but this is an open forum, so I get the not wanting to share names or posting pictures. I would never post too traceable info or a picture of my face on a site where I talked about my fanjo. not that any of us are weirdos but there are plenty of them about

Crazy nothing to labour and Smiley I have been getting so many tightenings and I am also ignoring them. Glad to hear this is normal second timer occurrences. Sometimes they are pretty full on and they all seem to register on the CTG machine when I am strapped up - maybe I won't need that induction though after all? Cwest glad you are enjoying a well deserved rest and ignore the scales - it is but a number.

On the me me me front - still don't know if I will be induced or ELCS but know that my date will be anywhere from 37 (induction) - 39 weeks (ELCS) depending on delivery type. Still not packed my bag, still haven't painted the nursery or got the carpets down, still working, still doing lots of things. Totally knackered, took DD swimming, took her to a big lunch with lots of my friends. Drove round London delivering people home afterwards and now it is time to crash and burn...

Will be checking in even if no time to post to see what tomorrow brings. x

FjordMor · 23/09/2012 22:41

Been reading as often as poss over the weekend although I've been mostly out, doing last minute shopping for baby & hospital bag & visiting MIL & SIL.

Had NO sleep last night (DP snoring & general discomfort) so I've been dozy & mostly inert all day but wanted to get on here at least to wish lisbeth well for tomorrow. I hope to be on again tomorrow but if somehow I don't manage, CWest & Angelico you are also very much in my thoughts with your elective CSs & I look forward to hearing all about all your new arrivals and experiences as soon as you find your way back online.

Brain too befuddled for a proper catch up (and on my phone) but did see some discussion of monitors & carriers. We've gone for a BabyBjørn Active - with the extra back support and the Angelcare monitor which several of my friends with kids rave about (& it was on offer by Amazon at £69.99, which I understand is a very good price). londonlivvy I had also heard great things about the Prince Lionheart bear & nearly ordered one but they wouldn't ship to Norway for some reason. I've decided to go with several iPhone apps with similar sounds instead & see how we go. Some of them have similar features, including (apparently) a movement sensor. I will investigate further.

I haven't given any thought to long term/post hospital breastfeeding wear but then I'm 'not a proper girl' & rarely think about clothes so thanks all for the reality check! I will meed to address this...Names wise - I've yet to discuss it with DP but I basically want to give her a Norwegianised version of my grandmother's name that is also his great grandmother's name so I hope he says yes (might have this conversation tonight actually Shock). Now...must get that hospital bag packed, if I can heave my heavy, itchy cankles off the sofa...

bella2012 · 23/09/2012 23:12

just checking in to say a huge good luck to lisbeth. Will be thinking of you tomorrow and praying that all goes smoothly for you. So excited that it all gets going for real tomorrow after all we have gone throug together! As always, I echo the sentiments already expressed- this thread has been an invaluable source of comfort and support to me.

I have a meeting with my HOD tomorrow period 1 and still haven't made up my mind about stopping work early or not. Can i blame pregnancy for being this indecisive? Pros for leaving: It is so demanding and stressful when there so could live without it. I get a bit of time to get into baby mode before it all kicks off. Get a couple of extra days with my wee man before I become a mummy to his bro or sis. Cons: Lose a weeks wages at a time when we are really skint. I won't actually get to rest next week as will be looking after ds. I may end up doing the work i need to do at home, i.e. For free. Thanks midget and others for your comments. I don't know how you are managing all of that midget-you are juggling so much! Are you ok?

Big love to all. Can't wait to hear the craic tomorrow! X

bella2012 · 23/09/2012 23:14

sorry I always miss the h's off words! Am always on my phone and that key sticks!

CWest30 · 24/09/2012 03:54

Midgetm · 24/09/2012 07:09

I'm with you on the cant sleep front - at least 2 hours staring at the clock thinking holy crap I have too much to do!
