Oh dear oh dear oh dear Londonmrss!! I do apologise!! I wish I could express in text tho how much I am laughing right now!!!! Blush

Sorry pet, you are disturbed, I should not be laughing!!

Oh that beats mine hands down!! And I'm sure your baba will love your milk......! She certainly won't be able to reach the fridge for ages anyhow!
X

crazypaving · 19/09/2012 11:04

Londonmrs you must be feeling very disturbed after that dream, but written down it is pretty funny!! Poor you!

I have disturbing dreams at night but can just remember a sort of unsettling sense of them, which leaves me feeling a bit "off" all day, rather than actual detail. Not too fab.

Not much to report here. My SPD has flared up hideously and I'm struggling to do really basic things. One week til I see the osteo again - counting down the days.

But last night was DH's night away, and NO BABY!! So all is good. AND I finally have my homevisit booked in, the midwife's coming this afternoon. Not my usual one (she's on holiday), and the one who's coming sounds absolutely lovely. So I'm happy today.

But I'd bought a pack of biscuits for the mw's visit and I ate half of them yesterday. Fat cow emoticon required. God, that was fat. Oops.

velo yikes - good luck at work!!

loopy glad the midwife led unit is good! Sounds perfect.

angelico well done on managing your GD so amazingly well! Glad the endocrinologist was so lovely (totally clueless as to what one actually is, but delighted nevertheless!) and you can tuck into what you want once the baby's here! Result!

All those suffering with bad sleep - lots and lots of sympathy Sad This last stretch is tough isn't it.

CWest sorry your DH is being a nobber - again. Hope he gets it and comes with you in the end Sad Your parents sound amazing!!

Londonmrss · 19/09/2012 11:17

Yomping great work on the shagging! I'm pretty jealous, although to be honest I'd take a good poo over a shag these days...

WantAnOrange · 19/09/2012 11:36

I posted on here this morning and it's vanished! I know I posted......

OctoberOctober · 19/09/2012 11:37

Hi Oct ladies

I've not been posting on these pages much since early pregnancy but recognize lots of names here and have kept a little eye on everyone's progress.

I finished work last week and have really loved having a bit of time to chill and relax. Planning on going swimming later and perhaps doing a bit of cooking for the freezer.

If I ever put down this book that is! Have just discovered kindle on iPad and it's given me whole new reading spree. Thinking of getting actual kindle but may just be kidding myself that I'll have time for such luxuries when baby comes!

LoopyLa · 19/09/2012 12:20

I'm pretty jealous, although to be honest I'd take a good poo over a shag these days...

HAHAHA!!! Grin

Crikey, what has become of us that it's come to this?!! Wink

hufflepuffle · 19/09/2012 12:47

So my baba has obviously been asleep all morning and now that I am going to work it has awoken and is going boogaloo!! And yesterday it had me panicking that not moving til about lunchtime too. Sad fact is that til now, so busy at work, not nec noticing it is asleep for most of day!! But believe me, from dinner time til the wee hours it is v awake......

Something tells me i'm not getting one of those sleep thru the night babies!!!!!!!

Loads more washing done. Cannot wait to have coloured baby clothes!! This house has been like an art installation for shades of white!!!! Roll on the colours!!!

Bloody cold today. Wish I knew what size this kiddo would be. Really love to have a wee cosy snowsuit type thingy waiting on it but if we get a 10lb er the newborn ones will all be small!! Lots of cuddly blankets it is!!

Cannot wait to see my bubba.......

GO TO WORK HUFFLE

MickeyTheShortOne · 19/09/2012 12:54

For fecks sake, just written the longest post ever and Mumsnet logged me out. Angry

Hooray- I've caught up with you all!!! I cannot believe two of us will definately have babies by next week!!! How exciting!! Good luck to you Squid as I know your due date is fast approaching too!!!

So Envy at those who have finished work already :( I still have 6 and a half weeks to go, olympic medals to those who are still at work, the end is in sight!!!

Congratulations to those who have had successful flat sales, moves and championing through weddings and various engagements at the same time. Squid You are like superwoman. The idea of a two hour walk and 30 lengths in a pool every day makes me want to faint. Thats just thinking about it!!!
We are in our new house, finally, and I am actually loving it. Loving being in a smoke free zone and feeling able to invite people round without worrying about them leaving stinking of smoke, much better. yomping I totally feel for you. I would have loved to have been allowed to have a homebirth but because of ancient medical history I am not :( I would feel more comfortable at home, I know that much.

Londonmrss I am totally with you on wanting the baby to engage. I am so annoyed at feeling sick all the time. I can't bend down without feeling all my stomach acid rising to my throat and wanting to throw. I feel this is payback for my lack of morning sickness at the beginning of this wonderful journey. I want to be able to breathe properly too. Also laughing at your dream- sorry love!! Thats so funny when written down.. Lol. My dream was actually a horrendous nightmare last night so I won't be writing that one down. It had me up for an hour as it scared me so much.

Who was it having palpitations? I think I'm getting them too. Feels like my heart is beating out of sync with the rest of my body- not nice at all. Luckily they don't last for very long but its really unsettling when they come on.

Kyyria I hope the headache has worn off now. It sounds like a virus- I've had it a few times before. It's hard to do anything with that kind of headache, I had to take nearly a week off work last time I had it.

Well I have a new midwife that I met last week and she is really lovely. My other one was always in a rush and it never felt like she had any time for me. This one explains everything, I finally know what I'm measuring (31), and she is really caring. She was very worried about my blood pressure last week and told me that I shouldn't still be working and I should be taking it easy.. maybe I should be listening to this also. (As my manager is a complete and utter NOBBER.) I am also in the low iron camp- I am cooking a lamb and spinach curry tonight though- the midwife would be proud!!!! I shall be like Popeye :O

Also not appreciating the bump comments. Everyone tells me I look huge, and when I respond "well actually I'm measuring a week behind", they just go "are you sure?!" "Corrr well it looks like it might come early then". OH JOG ON. Go take your unsolicited advice and comments somewhere else, to someone that wants to hear them!!

Anyway. I must be off now but I am so glad I caught up, I'm sorry for everyone I've missed. My poor doggy is begging me to go for a walk and I have my second and last ante-natal class in an hour which is apparently only on breast-feeding. Starting to wish I had done NCT classes. But oh well.

Mickey, 21 (I'm the baby I think?), DC1, 32+6

Kyyria · 19/09/2012 13:28

Well have had my last scan this morning. All is well and little one measuring at the top end of normal for most things. Estimated weight today was 6lb0oz - so if that's 0.5lb a week for next 5 weeks that will make him somewhere between 8-9lbs.

On the headache front it's still lingering. Sore throat has now kicked in with force and possibly getting rash on face so figuring it probably is slapped cheek. Off to the Drs for bloods this afternoon so they can check my immunity. Not certain what they can do considering it's viral, but at least given he's 34wks he should be safe enough.

Also joined you on the weird death dreams last night...yuck!

32, 34+3, #1

FjordMor · 19/09/2012 14:34

Just returned from my 36 week growth scan/hospital polyclinic visit. To cut a long boring story short, I have an induction date booked for 1st October! So it seems that my 'gut feeling' and lisbeth's guesstimate are bang on. Today I'm 36.3 and baby's estimate weight today is 8lbs 6oz (!) hence the scheduled date when I'll be 38.1 (that might be moved forward to end of next week, I've been informed...). Quite relieved I won't be one of the 1st after all and hoping they don't bring it forward! Thought I'd repost the list as I haven't seen it for pages! Please jump in and correct if there's a more updated version that I've missed. Will catch up with you all later when I've finished spreading the news, trying not to panic about finishing nesting and other more boring tasks.

Lalala browsing Internet... Love that an October baby means Christmas outfits like this

Oh and Yomping - nuff respect sister.

lisbethsopposite · 19/09/2012 15:20

Fjordmor Similar story here - I have an induction DATE for next Monday Sept. 24th ShockShock

I feel like I am trying to skip a queue here.

I saw the ObGyn today. The appt always starts with peeing on a stick (meGrin) and it has always been the colours at the bottom of the chart, today it was all yellow/greens, no orange. Chatting with Dr. during the scan I asked if all was well, he said there's the placenta, 'you know what, we'll book you in for next Monday'. He said don't worry but at your age I don't want to look back in a few weeks time and wonder if we should have acted sooner. My experience of him and his reputation is not to rush to interventions, but I understand about controlled risk - part of me of course wants this baby out, but part of me wants to let nature run it's course so I would not look for early induction. I have put my trust in this service however, and I am not going to start second guessing the experts.

Rang DH at work and we went for coffee - it was all I could do not to cry. I feel weak kneed!! I came home and cleared up paperwork, the stuff that still wasn't done after 6 weeks off work. Blush

I am still in shock!

FjordMor · 19/09/2012 15:30

lisbeth !!! Wow! I'm not surprised you're in shock! There but for the grace of god go I...(as they say - I was warned it was my earliest possible date!). Have no idea how I'd feel if they'd suggested this coming Monday to me. It's not much readjusting time.

How are you feeling about induction in general? (or are you just shocked at the soonness of it all?).

Liege07 · 19/09/2012 15:32

Wow.. exciting/scary news Fjord! I hope you're feeling ok about it and taking it in your stride.. I am sure you are!

velo are you still with us? or are you on the other side with a newborn!? or are you in labour...?! I am mega impressed you went to work what a dedicated employee! Hope all is well..

yomping impressive stuff... I think those days are over for me :) I'm ashamed to admit I am sort of with Londonmrs re the poos...

Sorry to hear about the slapped cheek kyrria sounds pretty nasty well done for remaining so calm though... hope all is well.

Man the sugar cravings are driving me mad... I have to make do with the occasional apple... I swear the first thing I'll eat after the birth is a warm waffle with chocolate inside! I have to take the long way around to avoid the vending machine it is that bad! Before I was pregnant I hardly thought about sweet things and would easily pass on a dessert or piece of chocolate now I salivate at the thought of the vending machine! (I wonder if I will go back to normal after the birth)

Anyone got any advice where to buy a good birthing ball (and what exactly constitutes a "good birthing ball") size? material etc...? got a bit confused on ebay earlier..

oh and I added myself to the list:

Wow Lisbeth and Fjord! How exciting! Ugh, still feel like I've got bloody ages to go in comparison. Please don't all jump onto the post-natal thread too quickly! I would miss you too much.
God, I just can't believe we're nearly there and some of you are only a few days away from meeting your babies. Seems to have gone so quickly (although I definitely wasn't saying that a couple of months ago- and probably won't be saying that 4 weeks from now...)
I'm very happy to have met you all on here and I'm really looking forward to continuing our journey together.
My last day at work tomorrow GrinGrinGrin. No more rush hour tubes! I'm going to sleep late, go for swims and walks, clean the flat, listen to natal hypno, do lots of cooking and spend a lot of time on the sofa. Technically the first 3 weeks aren't maternity leave, but I saved up all my holiday so I could take it now (nearly killed me not having any time off throughout pregnancy, but hopefully will be worth it). Mmmmm. Thanks to those who still have a way to go at work.

Cherrychopsticks · 19/09/2012 16:14

All go on here as usual!

I'll have to do a proper catch up at a later date (when there'll be even MORE to catch up on Confused), as it's nearly my bed time.

Just wanted to say, bloody hell Fjord and Lisbeth!!! Not surprised you're in shock! I can't help thinking it must be nice to have a definite date though!

Good luck to all you last-few-dayers, will be thinking of you Thanks

crazypaving · 19/09/2012 16:21

liege the size of a birthing ball depends on how tall you are. Might need to google it or something! I got mine on Amazon, it's called 66fit anti burst gymball by physio supplies and I'm vair happy with it...!? I'm 5'10" and was told to get a 65cm one. It's just about big enough.

lisbeth OMG!!!! I'm amazed you didn't weep all over your DH, I would've!! Wow, how exciting...it's fab you trust this guy so you feel safe. Goodness...am a bit lost for words!

fjord excellent instincts you have! And it must be a relief to have the date-wait over.

smorgs haha, excellent Christmas outfit! I've been hankering after a very gorgeous red stripy sleepsuit with penguins on it, but it costs £the earth from JoJo Maman Bebe. Hoping someone might buy it for me...

Midwife's just left, my goodness she was luffly (why can't she be mine), got drugs in the fridge Shock and all set! Very, very excited, and it all seems suddenly very very real

YompingJo · 19/09/2012 17:27

Lisbeth, I am missing my due date buddy, we already lost Angelico and now you've buggered off and left me all on my own Grin.

LondonMrs, big congrats on finishing work tomorrow, bet you can't wait. I completely attribute the 2 shags in 2 days to no longer being at work, I feel more relaxed and suddenly feel horny again! Although I am also finding myself swaying from side to side when I stand up, so maybe this is all hormonal "let's start to get this baby out of there" stuff - moving it into a good position and hitting the cervix with a load of prostaglandins from semen to get things going? Or maybe I'm just horny Grin.

Thought I'd share that I have found the most comfortable pants in the whole world, in Tesco of all places: pants! . 2 pairs for a fiver, you get a blue pair and a white pair or a pink pair and a white pair.

Had a lovely day wandering round a National Trust place with DH, we have decided to join as it is a good day out for a family, and a cheap one if you get in for free (having joined for a year) and take a picnic lunch, and there are toilets and baby-changing facilities which will be good for the early days while we work out WTF we are doing!

Freaky dreams, girls! I'm either not having any or not remembering them, feel quite grateful for that having read about yours! Slept terribly last night but entirely my own doing, DH went out with his astronomy club to do some observing and one of his irritating female friends invited herself along - I couldn't go as it involves a lot of standing around then bending down to look through telescope eyepieces which is not comfortable at the moment - so I sulked my way to the local shop and drowned my petty jealousy in a tub of Phish Food, and was then so wired I couldn't sleep properly. Doh, nobber Yomping.

Have a good night lovely ladies Smile

squidkid · 19/09/2012 17:31

Wow lisbeth and Fjordmor - so close and must be so strange and overwhelming having a date to work towards... thinking of Cwest and Angelico too with date so close now.

I am... not myself today. Not quite sure why. Had a normal night's sleep (ie a bit shit, but nothing different from the last few weeks) but could barely keep my eyes open over breakfast and felt nauseous and got boyfriend to put me back in bed before he went to work. Slept till 11. Got up and made myself go to the market or it wouldn't happen. They told me off for being out and about still, as usual. Bought some fruit and veg and walked home v slowly.

Had some very plain lunch. Went back to bed. Been there ever since, sleeping a bit, or just resting. Lots of periody pains but no pattern to them or anything. Bump going very tight a lot, this does not seem to coordinate with the period pain.

I don't feel ill as such, just... totally totally wiped out.

It's odd because yesterday I was as energetic as I've been all year, had a fab day and didn't even feel pregnant at all, let alone 39 weeks. Saw a friend yesterday who had a really fast, relatively easy birth a couple of years ago so that was encouraging, went vintage-antique shopping with her, went to yoga which was good too.

But today I feel... very hungry and very sick and am going to the toilet a lot and very very very tired. Like first trimester, basically! (Anyone remember that joy?!) Huge wees today after months of teeny tiny wees. I feel odd and different. I don't know if this is early pre-labour, or just normal late-pregnancy fatigue which I have mostly been spared, or I have got a bit of a virus. I have been doing pretty well on the activity recently I think so I have had a day in bed guilt-free which I think is good - listening to my body and all that.

Having a friend over in a bit, but will probably send her home early. Boyfriend is going out to watch football, he's not allowed more than 2 drinks, hah. I don't really know if anything is significant but I am sure my body is doing something. I don't know. Any 2nd timers had anything like this?

hufflepuffle · 19/09/2012 17:37

Oh flip Fjord & Lisbeth !!!!!!!!!! Dates indeed!!! Brilliant to know, holy feck coming v quickly........... Reading that made my heart flip! V pleased and v Shock for you!!

Xx xx

squidkid · 19/09/2012 17:38

--- And Elpis, sorry looking at the list again didn't mean to miss you.

And Planktonette's not had a baby has she? Haven't heard from her in a bit!!

CWest30 · 19/09/2012 17:52

londonmrs I'm still smiling about your dream and I read that post this morning!

fjordmor glad you have a date, are you pleased its a little way off or would you have preferred to join the next week club?

Which brings me to.....lisbeth Wow!! How are YOU feeling?! I know its only the day before me and angelico so judging by that you must be all over the place, I sure as hell am! I keep going between wishing it wasn't quite so soon, to wishing it would hurry up and be over and done with.

Had my pre op, DH came in the end, although to be fair to him I actually didn't need him. They gave me some leaflets about the procedure and anaesthesia (still not been finalised, I have to tackle the anaesthetist on Tuesday morning) some anti sickness and anti blood clot drugs for Mon night/tues am and I had to sign the consent form. Oh and I've also got to have some bloods done on Monday so they can have blood on standby in the case of a transfusion.
Think that was about it, now its just a case of waiting and..... Waiting. It's the final countdown........deh deh deh deh.....
Gulp.

CWest30 · 19/09/2012 17:55

So how many babies so far next week?

Velo · 19/09/2012 18:48

Er squidkid your symptoms sound a lot like mine...... are you sure you not.......

I'm still here - funny day at work with running a meeting and taking note of 'increasing period type pains' during the day without drawing attention to myself! Frequency is still pretty erratic put this evening they are def. getting more painful. Get home and mention to DH that he'd better get his head around the fact that the little one may be here soon - and all I get from him is 'I'm so stressed.' Seriously!? I spend the day at work, find myself in increasing amounts of pain and he's a stressed!! Could be looking at a long night (at least he's making dinner).

ShellWeDance · 19/09/2012 18:50

Hi all,

I wonder if my nesting instinct is starting up because I did some baking today which NEVER happens! I made some apple scones which are delicious. And that led on to a chilli for the freezer and packing my hospital bag too so am feeling very virtuous after being incredibly lazy for weeks

Wow Lisbeth, that is quite a shock but you seem to be coping brilliantly. Am glad you're feeling confident in your consultant.

Glad you're happy with your date too Fjord. It's seems so cool to know your baby's birthday now!

Cwest Good that the hospital visit went well and DH came. Hope he did it with good grace.

Squid Have no experience but sounds like it might be the start of something, hope you're not feeling too rubbish though.

Crazy What kind of drugs have you got in the fridge??? Sounds very exciting!

Londonmrs Yay for finishing work and start maternity leave, boo to crazy dreams.

Liege I am terrible for the sugar too, have always had a sweet tooth but is crazy at the moment. And am not very good at denying it either.

Smorgs LOVE that outfit. Am totally going to go crazy on the Christmas outfits when the time comes.

Bravo on the two shags Yomping, the closest I'm getting at the moment is getting DP to do a bit of perineal massage. Funnily enough we're not really in the mood after that...

Baby is under my ribs which is incredibly uncomfortable, would really like it to engage but think that will be just as uncomfortable! Can't really work out which position it's in, but my tummy has gone a bit flat at the front and am worrying that means it's gone back to back. Seeing the MW on Friday so hoping she can let me know.
