winnie I still can't get over the part that says 2 hrs. Grin congrats again. Grin

Sorry to those that are experiencing stop start labours. Thinking of you and sending lots of labour vibes your way.

I can't sleep again. Feeling really sick, just like morning sickness all over again.

Thinking of you all. Feeling large and cumbersome is not nice and I will be glad when babies are in our arms and we can enjoy our bodies again x

MakeTeaNotWar · 25/09/2012 04:48

Amazing news winnie congrats! Will you post the detail of your birth story when you can? Ie how much time did you have to spare at hospital??

I've been awake since 3, should I just get up and watch TV? Brain in overdrive. It's my due date tomorrow (Wed)!

LoopyLa · 25/09/2012 05:59

Oh my god Winnie that appeared out of nowhere, lol!!!

Massive congratulations!!! Grin

How are you feeling, how did the birth go?

Sorry to hear your labour has slowed down Bear, hope you're resting x

Thumbwitch · 25/09/2012 06:08

Thunderbolt - the doc didn't want me to go much over 39w anyway just because of my age and the risk of placental disintegration and so on; but the whole induction thingy, they want me to be in hospital as soon as they start "interfering" to get things going, prior to full induction, because if things do kick off and baby is still unstable then I need to be in hospital just in case. TBH, I'm just letting him deal with it now because he's right - what I don't want is to go into spontaneous labour while baby is still transverse, that would be bad. So it's to control as much as possible, I think (although I'm still holding out for the acupuncture/moxibustion working tomorrow):)

Congratulations winnie - that was a bit sudden! GrinThanks

Pheebs24 · 25/09/2012 06:23

So much baby-producing stuff going on!! Congratulations winnie but to everyone else having a rough time with things stopping and starting and moving around, you are getting closer to baby cuddles with every contraction so I'm keeping fingers crossed for you all.

At 36+2 I'm also thinking a lot about what I'm looking forward to after the birth, which so far includes; wearing my wedding and engagement rings again, reaching my feet, getting some of the coloured jeans everyone seems to be wearing, going to the gym again, not needing 4 hours sleep whenever I try and tidy up, seeing my foof without a mirror (whilst avoiding looking at the newly saggy and wrinkly bit above), proper tasting tea!!!!!

I don't know about coffee, but has anyone else found that decaf tea just doesn't taste right?!?!?!

I got up after a few hours of tossing and turning, thinking I'd have some breakfast and promptly went to the loo forgetting I'd promised the MW a morning sample because she keeps finding traces of glucose - so now I'm gulping water to try and make myself go (oh the irony) so I can eat something and stop the tummy grumbles sigh

CaptainHetty · 25/09/2012 06:33

I'm looking forward to being able to wear my skinny jeans and nice t shirts again. And getting another lip piercing. Vain, me? Never :o

I also really, really want to eat a brie and bacon sandwich.

And to be able to see my feet. And to be able to get my socks on (I just got up. Got dressed and promptly burst into tears because I can't get my socks on properly and my legs ache Hmm)

Being able to walk without looking like a cowboy who's lost his horse will also be quite novel.

Pheebs24 · 25/09/2012 06:42

Mmmm Hetty brie and bacon... and prosciutto... and a dippy egg all over hot buttered toast...

DH's self esteem would go through the floor if he knew how appealing those things are right now Grin

elvislives2012 · 25/09/2012 07:45

Congrats Winnie!! She's gorgeous :)
I REALLY, REALLY can't wait to be able to get up out of bed with no pain and no huffing and puffing. Am sore today :( think its from the baby's head being engaged so every cloud....

newtonupontheheath · 25/09/2012 08:08

winnie Huge congratulations!!! GrinGrin

Where do I order one of those births please ?! Wink

Can't wait to hear all about it!

I think we need to re-group here ladies.... We all can't wait to have our babies and eat cheese and drink wine BUT as we're getting inpatient now, I thought I'd remind everybody how nice these last few days/weeks of pregnancy are. Life will never be the same again! Especially those of you on your first babies....

Have lots of sitting time, do what you want, spend time with your friends/DP in un-child-friendly places, go out with a small bag.... There are lots of things to enjoy!!

I'm going to focus on that for the next few days and then this baby will drop out quicker than winnie's! Wink

Bear1984 · 25/09/2012 08:49

Congrats again winnie, so happy for you :)

I could have murdered DP when his alarm went off this morning and there was no need for it to be on... I can't go back to sleep so have just given up and come and had breakfast. My sister is bringing me her birthing ball later so gonna have a bounce about on that lol. I was walking up and down the road at 2am willing the contractions to come back lol!

I am also looking forward to runny eggs, and medium steaks, and being able to hold my bladder til morning lol. I really missed being pregnant after I had DD, but I feel I won't feel the same this time round lol.

goodsenseofdirection · 25/09/2012 09:16

Winnie huge congratulations to you! That's amazing news - I'd to order up one of those labours too please! GrinGrin

thumb it's not rented but is leasehold so the freeholder 'looks after' the exterior. We pay for 50% of the work. We have money set aside to improve the roof, as when we bought the survey said it was in poor condition although not leaking! but I know the freeholder won't want to spend his share of the money... Ah well, we'll manage!
All the best for your induction- hope the baby stays nice and comfy until then- or turns quickly and makes a natural appearance.

Will catch up properly with all the news later Smile

GizzyBoo · 25/09/2012 09:31

weesooty I'm booked in at PRM in Glasgow. I'm very much hoping that it doesn't come to that though. I suppose due to lack of hospital back up and monitoring here they are only thinking safety. And with a 3-4 hour emergency transfer time then they would want me as close to help as possible at that time. It still gives me the fear though Sad

i must be really bad as I have had dippy/runny eggs all through this pregnancy. I have also had pate on a couple of occasions and the odd glass of wine. I certainly haven't banned anything.

newton you are right and we should be enjoying these last few days/weeks but I am just far too impatient Blush

Bear I hope you get some rest today. I understand that you want the contractions back but if you tire yourself out trying to get in to labour then that will do you no good at all. Try and relax and keep your energy up for when you need it most xx

Just back from antenatal. Baby is in a much better position though still ROA. So I was right about all the squirming over the weekend. Least its moved from OP.

BP/HB etc all still fine so no worries there.

MW recons she will see me same time next week Hmm cow

Bear1984 · 25/09/2012 13:28

Lol gizzy. Glad baby has moved a bit for you! Don't worry, I am resting up. Have tried to catch up on sleep though DP's phone kept going off which wasn't helping Hmm so now I'm sat on sofa wondering what takeaway I'll order tonight cos clearly I won't be cooking. My mum's picking DD up for me, and hopefully giving her some dinner at hers before bringing her home to me. DP is going to work soon, though I know he'd rather not leave me, but I'm quite looking forward to some peace on my own for a bit.

Beeblebear · 25/09/2012 14:36

Winnie, Congratulations!!!!! She is a cutie. Is this your first? Second? I can.t remember can't wait to hear more.

Well it.s official, I have caught dh's cold. Super sore throat and nose getting all stuffy. Calledd in sick to work today. May work online a bit later to do a couple very important orders .

What I will miss about pregnancy.. Oddly enough, the conversation starter, i'm rubbish at making small talk and it's been easy covo lately. Also the little squirms and hiccups the big ones I could totally do without

What I look forward to after: my thighs shrinking back down to fit in my early maternity pants please tell me they WILL shrink meeting our little one and seeing what he looks like.. Having some time iff work

What i'm petrified of after: bringing baby home to meet the dogs. Breastfeeding not working, mil is an lc but even with the help I'll really feel like a failure if things don't work as she is heavily breast is best. Lot of pressure there. Worried of having a baby with special needs, autism, etc. brother has sn child and was very very stressfull on their marriage. And finally... And probably silly of me but....

Everything my dh has been doing lately has been irritating! Probably my hormones, but I don't think he is trying hsrd.enough especially with the house work. Buying expensive new toys, not listening to what I say... And then I think OMG WE ARE HAVING A BOY.... I CAN'T HANDLE TWO OF THEM, WHAT IF HE IS JUST LIKE DH!?!? And then I feel really bad about it cause I obviously love dh... Doh!

To all those nearing the end here, I.m sending my best wishes your way that things properly get going here! Go have a bounce on your dh birthing ball and go for a nice long walk! Hope to hear more new baby stories soon!

Bear1984 · 25/09/2012 15:14

beeble my DP has been getting on my nerves as well lol. He keeps saying "it could be any day now" and has been saying it for weeks and he's lucky I haven't got in the habit of slapping him everytime he does now Grin Hope you feel better soon and not suffering with the cold for too long!

newtonupontheheath · 25/09/2012 15:20

Can I join the moaning... My DH has been saying every night "I reeeeeally don't want to go to work tomorrow. Please can you have the baby tonight?" Oh, sure... Hang on I'll just contract my uterus Hmm

He lovely most of the time but his best work mate is off on paternity leave as his wife had a c-section on Monday and so they have their baby now! And we're still waiting. Well, we're not "still" waiting as I'm not even due yet!!!

But I love him because he's stopping at the chippy on the way home from work Grin

Pheebs24 · 25/09/2012 15:55

beeble and newton my DH's worst at the minute is stirring at about 4am and telling me he can't sleep when frankly he's done a bloomin' good impression of it, and seems to doze off swiftly afterward... meanwhile I'm into my 2nd hour of being wide awake in bed and deciding I might as well be up and about - grrr!!

MakeTeaNotWar · 25/09/2012 16:42

DH talks in his sleep! All the friggin' time! I most sleep through it most of the time but last night I was awake 3-5am & had to listen to him mutter & splutter for 2 hours! Annoying! Couldn't quite bring myself to decamp to the sofa though.

LoopyLa · 25/09/2012 17:54

newton I understand the re-grouping comment but I've got til the end of October to wait until my LO appears, it feels like such a bloody long wait til then - and what if its 2 weeks late?!! I'm not sure I could stand the suspense!

Just feeling a bit Envy because I'm not even on mat leave yet and some lucky ladies have already got their babies

Sorry Sad

And my DH's worst habit has to be ultra loud snoring...so loud that when I sleep downstairs, I can still hear him and he sounds like a herd of buffaloes - honestly!! Shock

RnB · 25/09/2012 18:02

Getting a bit fed up now Sad SPD is really bad and I have that all too familiar crushing deflation if my due date arriving...and passing. Ggrrr.

Dp is pleased baby hasnt arrived yet as he had work to do Hmm

Very tired.

CaptainHetty · 25/09/2012 18:36

Saw the consultant today, after 2 hours in hospital have established Flump's growth is slightly better - estimated weight 7lb 5oz from today's scan, which is not bad for 39+1. Fluid levels have dropped again though, back down to the 15th centile, so not as stable as they thought. Back for another CTG on Friday morning and if that's ok and no baby by Monday another scan for fluid levels... Based on the results of that if I've not gone into labour spontaneously I'll probably be induced next week, or over the weekend if they're not happy with the CTG results. She's fully engaged, though.

Now off to eat a curry and have a bounce on the birthing ball. Possibly not at the same time :o
