Haven't lost anything else for a while, had a few twinges and dull aches but nothing major or regular yet.

Have the weirdest sensation when I go for a wee, not sure if it's baby or what, but it feels like popping down in my pelvis. Can't think of any other word to describe it, it's odd. Wondered if it's her head where it's really low or something? Only happens when I sit down properly for some reason Confused

I'll call labour ward and ask them to check if I lose any more fluid x

goodsenseofdirection · 16/09/2012 22:17

Good luck Mickey! very exciting :)

And hope everyone else is ok too - hetty keep us posted x

CaptainHetty · 17/09/2012 04:15

Ugh I can't sleep. Would dearly love to be able to say its because im having a baby but I'm not lol.

Not lost anything else watery but had totally irregular mild contractions all night. Now wide awake and starving. Contemplating getting up and having tea and biscuits. Also have a bizarre urge to clean the bathroom but not sure that'll go down well at this time :o

newtonupontheheath · 17/09/2012 04:46

I can't sleep either...been awake since 3:30 Sad I've already been downstairs and had a yogurt (for the heartburn...) now back in bed but when I lie down I get weird rib ache Confused think baby might be up there somewhere.

Also, DH is most put out that I've asked him to turn over... He was snoring his bloody head off. Grrr... He's lucky I didn't smother him with his pillow instead Grin

Hetty hi fellow non-sleeper. How are the contractions? Im jealous that you may be awake for a real reason and not stupid achy pregnancy moans!! Smile

CaptainHetty · 17/09/2012 04:53

Oh snoring is the worst. Luckily DP doesn't do it very often, but when he does its akin to an apachi helicopter taking off in the bed. I never have the heart to wake him, either, so I just prod and fidget a bit til he turns over lol.

I dunno if the contractions are really doing anything, to be honest, they're more of an irritant than actually painful, and they're not getting any closer together or more intense. I'm well and truly wide awake though so may as well get out of bed!

babybrain3 · 17/09/2012 04:57

Hi everyone, just catching up with the thread whilst feeding... Very excited that there are babies imminent!! GrinGrinGrin

Good luck those who are just starting in labour!!

HeyMicky · 17/09/2012 06:45

Morning all!

Eliza Dorothy Gardner arrived last night at 22.57 weighing a teeny 5lb 2oz. What a lucky mummy I am (and what an intact perineum I have Grin)

She was back-to-back so that meant a pretty hard labour with an eventual epidural, but she turned round right at the end and as the epidural wore off we managed a delivery on all fours with only 40 mins pushing.

Hope everyone is doing well - your turn soon!

firstbubba · 17/09/2012 06:54

Congratulations heymicky

GizzyBoo · 17/09/2012 07:08

Yay! WTG Mickey. Huge congratulations to you. Hope you enjoy your babymoon SmileThanks

I too had a very sleepless night. I was furious with OH who had 1 too many whiskys and slept like a snoring octopus. He was unmovable and unwakeable.

Not getting to sleep until after 3am has done nothing for my dark mood of late! I am still grumpy Blush

Eeek congratulations and such a beautiful name too!

If my uterus doesn't start contracting properly soon I'm going to go in and pull her out Angry

I've never, ever had the on/off contraction thing with any of the other three. It just started and then they arrived a couple of hours later, this is most frustrating.

Wonder who'll be next? I've convinced myself little madam is going to torment me for at least another 2 weeks so I won't be placing any bets on myself :o

Bubblebell1 · 17/09/2012 07:50

Congratulations mickey.
Love the name. Can't wait to see pics Grin

pinpan · 17/09/2012 07:54

Congratulations HeyMicky!

Gizzy, that list needed to be titled VERY impatient mums to be. Grin I made myself leave the house today and walk to the supermarket - it definitely shook the bump down a bit further, probably helped by my having to waddle a bit faster than usual to get home before a massive storm hit!

Hows life with a newborn treating you?? x

elvislives2012 · 17/09/2012 08:48

Congratulations mickey am very pleased for you and extremely jealous glad it all went well. Hurrah for intact perineums!!!

GizzyBoo · 17/09/2012 09:02

I have sent all the kids to school. I am now back in my bed with season 5 of True Blood and no intention of moving for a very long time! [Blush]Grin

CaptainHetty · 17/09/2012 09:03

I have a William John, 'tis one of my favourite names, that. Lovely :)

Kids dropped off at school, caught a glimpse of myself in a window and bump is reeeally low down today. I'm now off to buy fruit chocolate and force myself into believing I really am nesting and I really do want to do the housework.

I really do. Honestly. I can't wait to get the hoover out. And wash up. And...

No, it's not working :o

Beeblebear · 17/09/2012 10:15

Good morning (3am again)

Congratulations Mickey! And what a feat to survive in tact :) can.t wait to hear more.

Well ladies, new panic of the day...I CAN.T GET MY WEDDING RING OFF. for weeks I have kept checking and it had come off ok, but overnight my finger has swollen and now there is no way it's coming off. Ladies if you havn't done so already TAKE YOUR RINGS OFF NOW! Will try drinking lots of water today and totaly cutting s ask t to drop my fluid retention and try some of the tricks from the internet... Will keep you posted. Sure hope it doesn.t have to be cut off.

Thumbwitch · 17/09/2012 10:29

Congratulations Mickey! Lovely name, glad everything is ok. :)

Beeble - have you iced your finger? Carefully, of course. Might help, also keep it above shoulder level for a bit, see if that helps too.

Hetty - are you on the raspberryleaf tea/capsules? might help!

Went to see the doc today - 36w - all tests normal, Vit D back up again, everything fine. Had GBS swab today as well just in case - will find out next week whether that's ok.
However, I still have an internal swimming pool which is allowing the baby to swim around and change orientation all the time Hmm - so I'm off to try all the available home remedies to persuade it to go head down.
Have told the consultant that I don't want an ECV, he seemed fine with that - and we discussed having a possible breech VB, which was interesting! But obviously it would still be better to get baby's head down.

No leakage here, nor any contractions of any kind. BP is down again to normal levels (127/75) thank goodness, so that's one less worry.
But I'm just sooooo fed up. And starting to get nauseous again - anyone else experiencing this?

CaptainHetty · 17/09/2012 10:36

Ohh no Beeble hope you manage to get the ring off ok.

I was advised you shouldn't use raspberry leaf if you've had previous quick labours? Don't know how accurate that is but my children arrived in 3 and a half hours, 2 hours and 15 minutes, and 1 hour 50 minutes respectively - I'd rather not speed it up any more than that to be honest :o

Thumbwitch · 17/09/2012 12:31

Ah fair enough then CapnHetty! :)

GizzyBoo · 17/09/2012 13:02

I am still in my bed ShockBlush

I am waiting for hubby to come home and make me lunch Grin

MakeTeaNotWar · 17/09/2012 14:28

Congrats mickey!!

Hetty I didn't know that about raspberry leaf tea and I am chugging it down despite a 4 hours first labour? However this monkey is back-to-back so I'm taking all the options I can to speed it up.

thumb yes nausea here too to add to the restless legs, aching back / pelvis / fanjo etc.

Can all you pregos slow down on the old giving birth front please? I am offically top of the queue due Sep 26 so wait your turn.... Wink
