Ooh good luck cakelady x

leelteloo · 03/08/2012 13:25

Wow Cakelady good luck! Be thinking of you.

WinterMymble · 03/08/2012 14:29

Wow cakelady!! Congratulations - hope it goes smoothly and that you have your LO soon x

Bakeroo · 03/08/2012 15:08

Oh cakelady that is so exciting! I hope you are doing well and I cannot wait to hear when you've had the baby! Good luck.
I am definitely packing my hospital bag tomorrow now! I've got all of the stuff, just not put it together and this has made me appreciate that the baby can actually come at any time now! (am 36 weeks tomoroow) eek!
Twizzlestix that's exciting that we're due date buddies! I wonder whose will come first?! :)
I think I am going to start drinking raspberry leaf tea this weekend...want to do something towards encouraging LO to arrive and getting myself ready, although I am not quite ready for it yet! Will start doing all of the other stuff from 37 weeks I think...do not want to go overdue and it's something to do isn't it?!
Am so looking forward to the weekend...don't have much to do but it'll just be so nice not to go to work! 2 weeks left here and it's killing me...soo tired.

cakeladyc · 03/08/2012 16:29

She's here ladies! Amber Joy, born at 12.38, weighing 4lb 11oz :) I can't hardly believe it still! She's in SCBU and I've bagged a side room in the post natal ward, but she's fine really, on cpap machine to put pressure in her lungs but not on oxygen which is good. It was so quick! I had an epidural in the end but she was so quick really that it only made a difference to the last couple of contractions. I'm still in shock but she's perfect! :)

Ju1es22 · 03/08/2012 16:58

Aww congratulations cakeladyc:-) what a lovely name too!

I wonder who'll be next?

Really not felt good today felt sick for a couple of days and was really sick this morning after breakfast, my braxton hicks have seemed to have increased loads the last couple of weeks!

Five weeks to go or maybe less;)

Smallgreenone · 03/08/2012 17:08

Congratulations cakelady! What a lovely name too. Am sure she'll be out of scbu soon. Wishing you all the best xxx

moogs1000 · 03/08/2012 17:18

Congratulations cakelady , a lovely name too! X

cjbk1 · 03/08/2012 17:24

Well done cakelady joy is my middle name too Wink enjoy your little bub x

leelteloo · 03/08/2012 17:29

That's wonderful news; welcome Amber Joy. Such a pretty name. Best wishes to you Cakelady and I hope you are not kept in too long. Xx

twizzlestix · 03/08/2012 17:49

Wow! Congratulations cakelady wasn't expecting to read that when I logged on! A beautiful name and a good weight. You must be on cloud nine Grin do you baby clothes fit or is it a mad dash to buy tiny baby by dad?

In less exciting news... Had a 36 week midwife check and baby is apparently 4/5 at brim so a big engaged already! I'm hoping this means she stays put and doesn't turn round in the next few weeks.

MadMonkeys · 03/08/2012 21:22

Oooh, congratulations Cakelady! My mn is Joy too, an excellent choice!

I must get my bag packed, 34 weeks on Monday. The birth still seems ages away, but you never know, do you...

MadMonkeys · 03/08/2012 21:26

And the most exciting news I have is that I've bought some delightful BIG pants for afterwards, I'm sure they will be so flattering! I found last time that you can't have too many big pants.

On a serious note my sister has plummeted into severe PND over the last week or so. Please everyone make sure you are aware of the symptoms and get help as soon as you can if you suspect there might be a problem - it can happen to anyone. Sorry for the doom and gloom after such lovely news from Cakelady.

Minimmusicmum · 03/08/2012 21:32

Congratulations cake lady! And to echo everyone else, that's a beautiful name! I'm 34 weeks on Sunday... So should have 5 weeks to go... Tho I'm hoping I go two weeks early- not that I'm at all prepared.

Rachel, the label on the cot says its 'only for use on' Cot beds of internal width between 600 mm+ 640mm and an internal length of between 1200 + 1240. I reckon it'll be too small.... It was too small for our cot.

Make tea not war.... Its awful the way prople feel free to commdnt on your size/shape/the terrible birth you're going to have....I've had a day like that too, and bumped into a friends sister who only has 4 weeks to go and looked neat, beautiful and light on her feet while I waddled uncomfortably along through a Brixton hicks after my tantrummy daughter ( she never tantrums but we had it all today ) my hubby then remarked how lovely and neat she was..... That's all he said but I felt crappy!

Anyway, not long to go now x

I hope everyone manages to get comfy and get some sleep x

Macaroons · 03/08/2012 21:43

Congrats cakelady rest well!

I'm 35 week today, had a growth scan and my LO is about the 70th percentile on most measurements. He's estimated to weigh 2.888kg which is about 6 pound 6 oz. how much weight is he going to gain in the next 5 weeks?Hmm head circumference is about 33cm. it's my first so I don't really want a big baby. Maybe time for me to eat abit less...

Loup23 · 03/08/2012 23:19

Congratulations cakelady lovely news Grin

Shall we start a stats delivery;

cakelady - Amber Joy - 3 Aug - 4lb13

Wonder who will be next? bakeroo and twizzlestix I'm a 1 sept due date buddy too, 4 weeks tomorrow eeeeek!

Finished work today and looking forward to a break in France followed by a couple of weeks getting ready - please baby stay put until due date.... Wink

Have a good wknd all xx

cjbk1 · 04/08/2012 10:04

Im prepared for a barrage of 'no,s' here but does anyone else feel really sleepy for ages after getting up? not do much tired but a bit foggy headed like if you wake up suddenly? takes ages to clear?
anyway have a nice weekend all x

ChoccoCake · 04/08/2012 10:15

It seems to take me all day to wake up cjbk1. Although I finished work yesterday so Im hoping that might get better...

Cant believe I'll be 36 weeks on tuesday, really not feeling as prepared as I thought I would. Not really sure what Ive been doing for the past 7 months!

Anyone got any advice on baby baths, havent bought one yet?

ladygagoo · 04/08/2012 10:32

Ooh congrats cakelady what a lovely name you have chosen (bit biased as Joy was my last name until yesterday) but we got married yesterday morning so today its all change Grin

I guess I should be grateful baby has stayed in until now - I've been tested for Obstetric Cholestasis which looks likely so I think I will be induced at 37 weeks - so much for a September baby then - nevermind as long as its ok I don't really mind.

Congratulations to all those on Mat leave now - time to put your feet up!

Loup23 · 04/08/2012 10:56

Congratulations Mrs ladygagoo, hope u had a lovely wedding!! Good luck with the arrival at 37 weeks, are you team surprise?

Waves to others, we're off to the Olympics today - come on team gb Grin

funchum8am · 04/08/2012 11:17

Congratulations cakelady that is a beautiful name for your beautiful girl. I'm so glad she's doing well.

And congratulations ladygagoo on your marriage!

We are off to France next Friday so washing and packing for that and sneaking into the washes things like reusable wipes I have bought so that they are a bit more absorbent when baby needs them. But also hoping baby stays put til we get back!

The Olympics have been a great distraction from aches and pains. We went to the beach volleyball last Thursday which was great fun and have tickets for hockey and women's footy next week - good job I'm still feeling relatively perky!

meXem · 04/08/2012 11:28

Congratulations cakelady and mrsladygagoo

cjbk1 This week I think I've been mostly asleep at work, I did an 11 hour shift yesterday and can barely remember it! I had to pace up and down outside every 1/2 hr or so, just trying to feel more alert!

choccocake we're not going to bother with a baby bath, Everyone I've spoken to says they are just another expense and a bit pointless. We will prob either take baby in bath with us (I like the idea of skin to skin contact to keep baby calm) or use a clean new washing up bowl!

Minimmusicmum · 04/08/2012 12:25

Mrs lady gagoo! Congratulations :) happy happy days!

Chocco cake, we used a tummy tub at the start and our DD adored it, they are submerged in water up to their necks

Minimmusicmum · 04/08/2012 12:33

Whoops, hadn't finished...

Submerged up to their necks and it's just like being in the womb ( apparently ) it was a lifesaver for us because DD had bad reflux and was sick up to 8 times a day... Lots of changes of clothes and a quick dunk in the tummy tub. She also had quite dry skin( prob all the washing ) so I could pop grape seed oil in... Saved the whole bath getting greasy.

Cjbk1- I'm sleepy most if the day and have no excuse, I w been off work for aaaaages!!!

My main prob at the mo is that I'm MOODY as hell, lay crying next to my hubby in bed last night because I felt he didn't care enough.... Poor guy! He cant do a thing right at the mo... Know I'm irrational, can't control it tho!

justine09x · 04/08/2012 13:35

Can I join? I'm on the August thread and I'm due 31st August, was also due 31st August with dd1 but she came on 6th sept and ds2 was due oct 11th but came 12 days early on 30th sept so who's betting that my luck will give me another sept baby lol.

You all seem like u are doing very well, I'm like a whale got bad hips and back and can't wait to get lo out!

Congrats on Amber Joy what a lovely name!!

My stats are DC3 (girl) due August 31st I'm 26 xx
