bemybebe · 08/06/2012 18:32

mamma congratulations again!!

McKayz · 08/06/2012 18:37

Gwen and Blondie DH took me for a drive near Slimbridge last time we were down there. I think we were going on a tour of places he went with schoolGrin He said they went to the zoo and some American museum.

blondiedollface · 08/06/2012 19:57

Which school did your DH go to McK was it in Bristol? I'm amazed at how many people come from/near the place!

McKayz · 08/06/2012 19:59

He went to St Ursula's. His Dad used to teach there and be the deputy head.

Kveta · 08/06/2012 20:02

my parents lived in Bristol for 4 years 30 odd years ago - on Magnolia Road. Apparently there was no magnolia there. Dad studied there at the uni before they moved up to Glasgow.

I am so fed up now. Wish I could find a distraction. Apparently it will not rain all day tomorrow, so DH has promised me a day on my own, or at least an afternoon! So crappy films and crappy food for me tomorrow :o Unless it chucks it down again. Got my fingers crossed for decent weather!!

gwenniebee · 08/06/2012 20:10

Blondie I was teaching at Clifton College so used to walk/cycle past Clifton High every day :) I really miss it. Boarding school life was pretty full on and you were expected to be "on call" just about seven days a week in term time but the whole management set up was heaps better than where I am now I mean where I was before I went on mat leave and may never go back to And I made some brilliant friends on the staff who I miss horribly :(

St Ursula's of course has bitten the dust....

Novmama · 08/06/2012 20:35

Rhihaf - my blood was boiling for you - what a cow! You should complain about her incompetence.
FFnorm - twins! OMG! that would be a shocker!
No changes with me - still downward pressure, abdomen feels like it could burst. Permanent indigestion now (thank god for Gaviscon). 40 weeks tomorrow - come on baby! Some sun to sit in garden would help.....
Enjoy the weekend

Novmama · 08/06/2012 20:36

mamma - many congratulations (oops hit 'post' to soon above). Hope you are feeling better down below soon - take it easy.

blondiedollface · 08/06/2012 20:41

Gwennie Yeh, I was one of the last boarders at CHS and a couple of my teachers were married to House Masters at CC, it did seem amazingly full on and literally 24/7 during term time but I'm actually hoping to get a post at CC once I've done my PGCE :)

McK They have re-named St Ursula's 'Oasis School' and it's turned a bit hippy, loads of the Montpelier/St Andrew's/St Paul's mums who send their kids Montessori/Steiner instead of primary are sending there... Different strokes, different folks and all that!

Kveta Everyone I know/meet seems to have some connection to Bristol, it's quite crazy even if it was only a year in 1983 or whatever most people seem to have some sort of link to the SW, especially Bristol or Bath - I feel quite lucky to have been born in the area and grown up/gone to school here.

Right DB has just arrived with gifts Grin Lots to catch up on..
Xx

McKayz · 08/06/2012 20:50

Owww!!

I've been sat bouncing on the ball and I think I forgot about my SPD as I can hardly move now.

DairyNips · 08/06/2012 23:51

Oh no McKayz hope the spd pain goes and you get more labour like pains soon.

Just sat in bed reading.. Was just thinking that over the past week or so I haven't felt baby move quite so much as usual. Well he is moving several times a day but the movements feel more gentle. I think he's basically ok but mentioned it to dh and he says he thinks I should keep an eye on it and maybe call the midwife unit for reassurance tomorrow.. I'm hoping it's just him running out of room/getting ready to be born. I just felt him wriggle so am reassured for now and I heard his heartbeat on wed when I saw the midwife. Think I'm just over thinking things and being paranoid.

Kveta I tried the bum in the air position you mentioned on fb, nothing as yet. Might try it again tomorrowGrin

Hope you all sleep well x

DairyNips · 09/06/2012 00:14

Hmm I just used the kick counter on my pregnancy app and recorded 9 movements in 16 minutes. I think he's ok, maybe I'm just so busy with the boys I keep missing movementsSmile

McKayz · 09/06/2012 02:05

I hate being awake for no reason!!!

Kveta · 09/06/2012 04:51

Me too mckayz! Have been awake since 2 and just cannot drift back off. Very crampy again too. Can't wait for this all to be over now!

OP posts:
McKayz · 09/06/2012 05:38

My back is killing me. I just can't seem to get comfy at all. At least I bought a light for my kindle last week so I can read that in the dark.

Hope you've dropped off now Kveta.

Kveta · 09/06/2012 05:49

Nope, still up. And typically DS has decided to sleep past 5 for once, typical! Have you taken paracetamol for your back?

OP posts:
McKayz · 09/06/2012 05:53

Yeah. Doesn't seem to have made a difference.

It might sound daft but I won't be bothered about being awake when it comes to the baby needing feeding. At least then there is an actual reason for it.

rachyroodle · 09/06/2012 06:12

So many posts! You can tell a lot of us have finished work now and can't sleep. No news to report here apart from due on tues and not even a twinge yet! Had a lovely day yesterday and treated myself to a pedicure. Never had one before but treated my fat feet to some pampering seeing as I can no longer reach them! Hope you had a good pamper too amethyst.
dairy I have been thinking baby movements are a lot more gentle too. Maybe babies just running out of room? Sorry to hear about family probs. last thing ou need.
blondie my links to sw are that spent 4 years in bath at uni and was where met DH. Still miss it.
kveta hope you are ok and not too fed up. Hope you get a bit more sleep and your yoga position does the trick. May try it myself. Our local farm shop butchers have been appraising me every time I go in and told me that I was big as a house yesterday! Then the other butcher just shook his head and told me that I was 'holding on to that baby too long!' I know it's daft but I always think they know what they're talking about because they do so much lambing! Did some extra bouncing on my fit ball after that comment and going to try to do lots of walking around today.
rhi that midwife sounds a bit of a cow. Weird about the urine too. Had you been eating asparagus?
gwennie and shelduck I'm not missing work either!! Thought I would be and that I would be worried about it but nothing! You're comment really made me laugh Shelduck. I totally got what you did there :)
mama hope all ok and your are enjoying your gorgeous baby.

Have I missed news from ssc?

Wishing everyone a good day and myself some signs of impending labour.

CathFin · 09/06/2012 06:59

Morning! Just off to google and see if I can do anything about bringing up bile in the night, its really not nice!

McKayz · 09/06/2012 08:06

Cath the only thing I've found to help that is to try and sleep upright. But it's really not easy for me to do.

I finally fell asleep about 6ish and woke at half 7. Had this very weird dream that Baby had a full set of teeth when she was born and an hour later she was eating pizza Hmm

I hope everyone is well.

rhihaf · 09/06/2012 08:30

Ahh I do love this thread! Thanks everyone for the messages of support :)

I feel much better having got it all off my chest. I can now concentrate on the c-sec on Monday and thinking that at least I'll have LO 5 days early Grin

Hope everyone is feeling ok and has a fab weekend - it's meant to get sunnier too...

McKayz - weird dream! Glad I'm not the only one... weird what hormones do to your brain isn't it???

Rachyroodle - no, no asparagus, and I made sure I wiped the test tube thingy before handing it over so it's not like it was dripping wee all over her desk or anything!!

Dairy - glad movements are back and he's kicking you again Grin

Have a good weekend all xxxx

Coops79 · 09/06/2012 09:07

Morning - just checking in.

Shelduck - you made me chuckle. Feeling a little more relaxed about leaving now I've been in and sorted out some of my filing/planned for Monday.

Have a lovely day all.
x

McKayz · 09/06/2012 09:28

My dad just made his first of 2 daily phone calls. I think I might just start ignoring him until she arrives. Angry

StarlightMaJesty · 09/06/2012 09:29

Checking in! Ovulation due date today!

I'm convinced mw only said 1/5 yesterday because I'm due. I don't feel any different at all.

StarlightMaJesty · 09/06/2012 09:30

McK, lol what does he think that you're not going to tell him?

Although it's nice when others are excited about subsequent siblings. Most people seem to look at me with pity wrt expecting my third.
