Gosh it is quiet here Smile

I do that quite often - write half a post then get distracted Grin

So today's been a rough one as expected with 5 solid hours of fussing and crying. She only ever seems happy when she's latched on, although then falls asleep until she falls off, or I try to take her off (it would be nice to not have a baby attached to me for five minutes!) It's exhausting Sad I'm thinking of going out tomorrow, for a change of scenery and in the hope that Lauren stays asleep for more than 5 minutes at a time I'm sure it can't be doing her any good to not get any decent sleep Sad Sorry, just realised that was another bloody moan! Hope you're all doing well Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 02/05/2012 22:39

Sad davina going out is a good idea, we go out every day and if he's fussy it calms him and if not he likes it too so win win! Sounds like a very tough day, hope you get some sleep tonight! Smile

foolserrand · 02/05/2012 22:50

Davina... good luck going out tomorrow! Really hope Lauren gives you 10 minutes of peace to go out. Saying that, you probably won't know what to do with yourself!

Just for the record, Bad Teacher is quite possibly the worst film ever! Not that I currently care, I have the most beautiful babies yawning and farting on my chest. Night night all!

OP posts:
elliebug · 03/05/2012 10:45

davina def go out, we've been out everyday even when they said we shouldn't and it's helped keep me sane if nothing else!! I too have a farting baby fools Jacob seems to get rid of most of his wind from that end and he really squeezes it out!! At least it doesn't smell like his dads!!!
So, we tried the nipple shields last night and I'm not sure I used them right but Jacob did some sucking and SWALLOWED!! Which he hasn't done before so I count that as a successGrin just need to find a way we both don't get a bath and express from the other boob as there was a puddle from that one!! He only had the nipple bit of the shield in his mouth is that right? Not a good mouthful of boob! Ah well, baby steps

McKayz · 03/05/2012 10:56

Hello,

Sorry been AWOL. DH goes back to work on Saturday so trying to make the most of the time. Plus all I feel like I am doing at the minute is moaning about being pregnant.

Davina I hope you are out now or at least planning on going out soon.

Ellie I have no idea about breast shields but if he did some sucking and swallowed then something is working!! Jacob is gorgeous and his hair is amazing!

Fools Your DH sounds like he needs a good kick up the backside. Plus things throwing at him!!

Right I am off again to try and sort out some stuff. Also got to attempt to get this baby to move as she feels transverse again.

foolserrand · 03/05/2012 12:03

ellie, that's great stuff! Go Jacob! No idea on whether he's right or not, but who cares right now? HE NURSED!

McKayz, moan away! We are all either going through it or did recently. Sensible plan to make the most of your time with dh. You'll most likely have your baby when he gets back, won't you?

My dh... Yup, he does! But he's finally acknowledging his behaviour is less than great and at least apologises and is going to the doctor to see if there's a reason he's always so tired. Any effort made is hugely appreciated by me. Anyone think its a coincidence I've done more housework while he's been out today than the rest of the week combined? :o

Well, I'm off to relax for a few minutes before he returns (with shopping - I'm worried!)

OP posts:
McKayz · 03/05/2012 12:12

Fools yeah I should have. At least I bloody well hope do as he's due home 9 days after I am due.

TroubleAndFyfe · 03/05/2012 14:17

Yay Ellie! Grin just the nipple bit of the shield is fine, that's all Fyfe managed when I used them, davina is the expert though.. Just do a few feeds with you both topless until you're used to it! Expressing from the other works but you can also quickly and sharply push the other nipple in when you start feeding and that usually stops the flow! So happy for you! Grin
Good to hear from you mckayz! Glad you're making the most of your DH!
Hope all is well fools, great news that your DH is acknowledging his behaviour, a good step!
How are things today davina?
Hope all is well in the bun, ghost and trope households?
mamma and babybrain how are you both? Smile

MammaInTheMaking · 03/05/2012 14:56

helllooooo
Sorry for lack of typing, work got really busy this week so didn't have time for my usual mumsnet browsing.....

Went to the birth preparation session at the hospital last night and it was excellent! We now know we're going to the birthing centre rather than labour ward and what to look out for etc etc.

Am now also working from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays to give the commuting a bit of a break. Getting around London was becomming such hard work but now i can have a breather on a few days.

Baby still active, foot shoved out to the side for the majority of my appraisal at work yesterday. what a monkey. gets hiccups alllll the time and omg the braxton hicks. all the time and so strong. having one right now and don't know how to get rid of it :(

And in other news my knickers are very wet today (sorry for information overload). So right now i'm sat in soggy knickers, hiccupping baby and a rock hard belly. Ahhhhhh this is all getting dull now. Exactly 5 weeks to go.

Ah, sorry for the self indulgent post, will go and have a read over what you've all been up to the last few days :)

MammaInTheMaking · 03/05/2012 15:00

just seen pics of Jacob - how adorable!!!!!!!

TroubleAndFyfe · 03/05/2012 16:03

Glad you're okay mamma, great news on working from home 2 days a week! Wowsers, 5 weeks to go! Evening primrose next week if you plan to take it ! Wink

foolserrand · 03/05/2012 16:48

Oh my motherfucking gawd! People!

McKayz, what does your dh do? Is there no chance he could get back early?

Mamma, you're sounding so prepared. Great news on the working from home. Can only imagine how exhausting the sodding tube will be by now. Can you get rid of hicks? Mine eased when dh put his freakishly hot hands on my bump. I just figured dd didn't like him!

We've just had the community midwife over for the heel prick amongst other things. Dd has lost a few ounces and is slightly jaundiced but other than that, she's the picture of health! She's quickly decided her favourite spot is mummy's chest. Funny enough, I'm ok with it! She still let's me put her down so I can get on with things.

Now, I want my free bottle of vimto. Some promo going on gets us a proper sized bottle delivered to our door step.

OP posts:
MammaInTheMaking · 03/05/2012 16:52

Righty-ho then Dr Trouble, what's all this evening primrose oil about? Should i be adding this to my shopping basket then? :o

Raspberry leaf capsules are being popped like no tomorrow. Am on 4 a day now.

We have builders in the house, replastering the hall and landing. This is a huge weight off our minds because it looks like it's all going to be done in time for Blubes' arrival. :)

We have to go vote for a mayor tonight. Joy.... so either a clown or mr money-bags........

MammaInTheMaking · 03/05/2012 16:56

I've not figured out how to stop the BH fools, today it feels like they've gone on for an hour at a time. Anything triggers them off too. Will try DP's hands on it later to see if it does anything. Thanks for the tip. Got to catch myself with the moaning though because this pregnancy has been a dream compared to what so many women go through. Am definitely feeling very blessed :)

Fluff sounds like a complete angel. Wow, amazing to have such a chilled and happy baby. Long may it continue and PLEASE LET ME HAVE ONE OF THOSE!

Go get the vimto!!

MammaInTheMaking · 03/05/2012 16:58

oh trouble meant to say that when i was growing up i only ever knew that song with a slightly different lyric....swap 'ears' for 'balls'...Blush

TroubleAndFyfe · 03/05/2012 17:32

DH also knew it with balls mamma!
Yes, evening primrose capsules next! They ripen the cervix, pop Angrytwo a day from 36 weeks in your gob and from 37 up your hoo haa before bed! Grin
Yay for Fluff fools, great news, well done! Fyfe was a tad jaundiced too but it only lasted 2 or 3 days. Smile

TroubleAndFyfe · 03/05/2012 17:32

Random Angry face?! No idea...Blush

MammaInTheMaking · 04/05/2012 07:24

AngryAngry hehe, stupid Angry face Grin

Ooh ok thanks. So these ones up the you know where. Forgive my ignorance but is this a capsule going up there or am I splitting it and just putting the oil up there...?Hmm

Had some very mild period type pains through the night. Hope everything is just ramping up a gear ready for 37 weeks onwards. Could do with bubs hanging on til builders have finished. Currently nursery door is taped up with plastic recycling bags as if it's a crime scene!

ghosteditor · 04/05/2012 08:30

fools, how's DD's jaundice getting on, and did you have a good visit with the HV?

DD and I are ill with the cold of doom - poor little mite hasn't been herself all week and has been v subdued. No rolling attempts, much less chatting, and has had a sore throat, slight temp, and some squeaky screaming. I have a sore throat, head of goo, and dreadful cough of doom (am asthmatic and struggling to breathe too). Rubbish ness!!! Thanks for the well wishes!!

Davinaaddict · 04/05/2012 15:12

This thread is like buses - quiet for ages then 24 hours later, 16 posts to catch up on Grin
OK make that 18 now, as I didn't finish this last night! I went looking for the name of the worst film we've seen and got distracted Blush I've not seen Bad Teacher, but Tropic Thunder was diabolical! Grin
There must be something in the water at the moment with all these farting babies and husbands I woke up to a wind tunnel this morning Grin

Great news on the nipple shields ellie. It's fine that Jacob only sucks the nipple part - that's what both mine did/do. The one thing you do need to watch for though is his top lip curling under, when he first latches on, as it can hurt and makes the latch less efficient. If he's having good long gulps, then it will be fine. Smile Can't help with the puddle prevention though I'm afraid, but interesting point from Trouble on that one - I've not heard that before Smile

Nice to hear from you McKayz - glad you've been enjoying your time with your DH. Hope you manage to get the baby to move Smile And do come and moan here if only so I'm not the only one moaning Wink Fingers crossed baby McKayz doesn't decide to wait until Dad comes home!

That's really good that your DH is going to the docs to see if there's a medical reason for him being a twat so tired Grin It's an acknowledgement that he needs to make some changes Smile

Glad to hear that things are going well Mamma Good news that work are letting you work from home as well - that will really help with the tiredness. Love our new member, Dr Trouble Grin

Sorry to hear your still poorly ghost Sad DS started with a real barking cough last night that's just heartbreaking to hear, so you have my sympathy Sad Hope you both feel better soon.

So, yesterday we got up and went to vote, then spent the afternoon at MIL's. It was lovely Smile All except the fact that a certain little madam decided she would sleep all afternoon in her car seat Confused It seems every time we go out, she sleeps! Which of course means that no-one will believe me when I say she will only sleep on me Confused So today I've had a crap night, feeling shivery, hot & cold, headachy & sore boobs (probably because Lauren didn't feed as much yesterday as she was asleep so much!). But I managed to get some tidying & ironing done this morning. Now I'm taking advantage of some lovely cuddles as my sis and her OH are coming up this weekend so I'll probably not get many cuddles Grin I'm going to either go for a trip to the shop later, or send DH with Lauren so I can catch up on some housework before the visitors arrive. I'll probably not get much chance to MN over the weekend, so hope you all have a great one! Smile

TroubleAndFyfe · 04/05/2012 15:58

Haha crime scene mamma take them orally from 36-37 weeks then from 37 the whole capsule up...ahem...there. Don't skip ahead a week like I did if you want the work on the house finished...I was so sure he'd be late! Smile
ghost, that sounds awful, hope you get better soon!Smile
davina sounds like you just need to go out more, at least it gets you a break! Hope you have a lovely weekend! Smile

AnchorBun · 04/05/2012 17:00

Hi everyone! So sorry I haven't posted in so long! I tried last weekend but it got eaten so I did what anyone would do and fell asleep Hmm Been a busy bee trying to organise various un-organised areas of the home, there are plenty to choose from!
We're doing good, I've had a pretty ok week mood-wise, today's been a bit glum but I shall be attempting to remedy it with a take away and loooong hot bath later on, Lilly just helped it by laughing like mad at her own hiccups! Grin Unbelievably adorable. She's fantastic, she's worked out her own little routine now which is a massive help. DS is loving pre-school and has made friends Smile

I had a lovely afternoon with Trope and Odie yesterday! He is amazing! Absolutely gorgeous. Trope is looking fantastic, you honestly wouldn't know she had a baby 3 weeks ago to look at her! Envy Grin

Fools and Ellie your pictures are gorgeous!!

Sorry to hear there's so many poorly people atm Sad we've just had a bout of it here too.

Fools I really hope things pick up with your DH soon and he realises he needs to be more supportive. I'm sure your DS will be fine, it's a massive upheaval for them at that age. Oliver can be the same sometimes. Lots of hugs and reassurance is all you can do I think, wish there was more though Smile

McKayz I hope you have a lovely time before your DH goes away, it must be really hard for you

Grin at wind tunnel Davina! Hope you have a lovely time with your sister and her other half!

Mamma I knew it as balls too! Grin love the alternative verses! Great news about the reduced commutes too, much deserved.

Sorry, I've missed out lots, bad memory and I need to go and feed DS. I've fallen behind with housework today as I've done bugger all so things are about to get hectic, DP not back until after the kiddlywinks are in bed again tonight so wish me luck!

TroubleAndFyfe · 04/05/2012 17:19

Hi bun! Glad you're okay! How lovely to see trope and odie! Smile how old is Lilly now? It sounds great her laughing at her own hiccups, just wondering how long it'll be until Fyfe is doing things like that, it's so odd motherhood, these 9 weeks have gone so fast yet I feel like he has been here forever!
How's the bf going ellie?

ghosteditor · 04/05/2012 17:33

Thank you ladies, and welcome back bun!!

AnchorBun · 04/05/2012 18:51

DP's home early! Hoorah!

She's 15 weeks now Trouble, another 2 weeks and she'll be 4mo! Shock Her first laugh was at 10 weeks old
