Hi Cath! sorry to have missed your message about Woking Blush class in Woking Park sounds lovely and it would be great to get together!

Miniangel · 17/04/2012 17:35

Warlin thanks for the wishes. Happy to report that the scan went well and the baby is growing nicely. The LO weighs 4 lbs. I am so relieved.

Treated myself to a chocolate bownie from starbucks on the way back, feel quite naughty now.

Tea I can understand how you must feel at the hospital. I have been admitted twice during this pregnancy and the students were asked to comment on my bump. There must have been around 10 students in my cubicle and one of them said my stomach looks nomal so the consultant told her off for not noticing pregnancy bump. It was funny and annoying at the same time. Hope they don't prod and poke you too much.

CathFin · 17/04/2012 17:54

Wisley very easy for me to get to - I'm a member so I can get someone else in free too!

Took the kids to Thatcham Discovery Centre today, which is near Newbury. My nct friend from first time around now lives near Bath so its about an hour drive for both of us but it was great to find somewhere free to meet up!
There are two playground areas and a huge lake with a lot of ducks you can buy food for, and a cafe etc so will definitely be going back there!

Kveta · 17/04/2012 20:45

haven't felt baby move much at all today, so if she's still stationary overnight, I'm going to have to head in to the hospital tomorrow. I'm hoping that by telling lots of people this, it will encourage her to wriggle all night to make my worrying seem ridiculous :o

hope everyone has a good sleep tonight!!

bemybebe · 18/04/2012 00:59

kveta i had the same sleepy baby this afternoon. so i decided to give her a little rub and poke, then some v cold water, icecream and finally dh talked to her, which seemed to do the trick Grin

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 18/04/2012 07:02

Morning all!

Kveta - hope baby is dancing about a bit for you by now.

Just popping on to say my lovely friend went in on Monday to be induced and had her baby by EMCS yesterday evening. Have seen a photo and it must be the hormones, but I actually think he's gorgeous (don't normally find babies appealing, especially 'new' ones) and I'm soooo jealous! Grin

TeaandHobnobs · 18/04/2012 08:38

Kveta hope the little monkey is moving now and you haven't had to go in for observation.

Bleed-free night here - woohoo! Grin

DairyNips · 18/04/2012 09:23

Morning allSmile

Kveta hope baby has wriggled by now.

Feeling a lot better today although keep getting indigestion when I eat nowHmm

Kveta · 18/04/2012 09:29

hi all, baby has wriggled and kicked a bit, I think she's just in a different position. Will keep an eye on her though, and off to the hospital this afternoon if there's little movement today. DH and I were lying in bed at 5 am trying to work out how we'd get to the hospital and who would look after DS, as DH has a v. important meeting this morning he can't really miss. After going through all the permutations, the baby gave me some hefty kicks, and we decided to leave worrying until later. Why do they put us through this?! :o

Tea fab news, hope you have more bleed-free days ahead of you!

Seriously I was the same pre-DS - thought all babies looked much the same, and none were that cute. Now I melt at some new baby photos (but do still think some look like Gollum), and have burst into tears EVERY time I have been shopping for baby clothes this pg. It's quite ridiculous!

Dairy glad you're feeling better, but crap about the heartburn.

3 days until the weekend! woohoo!

OP posts:
gwenniebee · 18/04/2012 09:43

Kveta glad to hear your bump is squiggling a bit more. Mine's done that to me twice now - once just "reduced" movement and once giving up completely which sent me into a whole new level of panic! (DH was away in the States then too so it was miserable!) At least it means that when I am kept awake by its squriming, like last night, I'm not too cross with it.....

Dairy my heartburn has been horrible the last few days too :( Sadly the dr's gaviscon doesn't seem to be doing the trick as much as the over the counter stuff... but maybe it's just coincidence that it got worse when I started the new bottle.

Seriously we had a whole load of newborn pics to look at at my NCT class last night (the idea being we were looking at all sorts of stuff that looks a bit worrying but is actually normal). Oh my word they were so cute!! Even my DH was saying "Awww" so I think he must be getting it, too, now!

Mr Bee and I are off on our final baby free holiday for a couple of nights this morning :) We were considering going to a romantic European city... and settled on two nights in a B&B near Rye :o It looks a v posh B&B though, lots of National Trust places round about to get into for free and can save the Europe money for something much more exciting. Like nappies.

Have a good rest of the week, everyone!

bemybebe · 18/04/2012 10:07

Tea and Kveta great to hear that you have good news!!

I am also watching my bump as a hawk, but this morning it is hiccupping so I guess all is alright Grin

smallwonder · 18/04/2012 10:25

Gwenniebee Enjoy your time away, sounds lovely! :)
Ceej Thanks for iron advice, the spatone is great, have had no problems with it really but i think it works out at a 10x difference between the tablets and sachets :( (tablets being 250mg each and at x3 a day). I took one before bed thinking i'd be smart and keep it down and was up half the night very, very sick! I'm going to double the spatone, keep up green intake and postpone bloods till next week -- fingers crossed I avoid blood infusions because I so don't want them.
Kveta Hope baby is dancing around now and putting your mind at rest :)
Dairy Glad you're feeling better today.
TeaHobs Yay for good night at the hospital. Are you getting much rest?

i think my cravings each PG for fizzy drink on ice ensure that there is plenty of movement Blush We sat watching LO move around last night, still amazes me until now, DH says he can't imagine ever having to carry a baby around and turns a ghastly pale colour at thought :)
SpecialJK -- Have no idea but just on my own experience have dreamed of girls every pregnancy and have had boys :) Was a little girl again a few weeks again, lovely she was, got quite excited (prospect of buying pretty girls clothes) then was reminded that its happened each time and has been a boy. Who knows eh.
TDW Hope he makes it earlier, you never know :) Are you on mat leave yet?
Hi to Warlin, Bemybebe and SSC. And anyone else whose posts are not visible as I scroll back further :)

Planning very quiet day of bills, paperwork, curriculum and then vegetating home alone :) I am officially in the 6th week mark until LO arrives :):)

Warlin · 18/04/2012 11:01

Hi All

kveta dont worry. My LO was the same yesterday. I was out with friends last night and they kept asking to feel him move and it's the first time in ages that he's been still all evening. Making up for it today though!

My two friends last night were wishing me well as they won't see me again until after the birth. They were giving me lots of birthing advice...is anyone else starting to get really nervous about the birth?? I feel so unprepared as our classes aren't until the end of May and I have been so focussed on having the baby that I have tried not to think of the birth. Confused It's starting to hit home that I'm really going to be giving birth in a matter of weeks Shock

tea glad you had a bleed free night....long may it continue.

mini 4lbs is a good weight...hard to believe they are getting so big now!

Can anyone recommend a good pram bag? I want one that DH is happy carrying, ie no flowers, pinks or anything too girly :)

Hi to everyone else

SpecialJK · 18/04/2012 11:55

kveta glad to hear you've got some movements

small I wonder on the dream front! I'd so convinced myself it's a boy I hope I don't feel weird if a little girl pops out

tea yay on no bleeds!

TDW hope DH can get better dates sorted, although it's a pain that they don't confirm it till a few days before, had that experience myself although luckily I wasn't due to give birth, so must be 100 times more frustrating!

I'm officially running on empty, I'm not sure I'm going to get through today. After 4 hours sleep sunday night, I had maybe 3 last night? I've got conference calls all afternoon too and midwife this afternoon, so I can't even grab a 30 min kip.

I'm away to get a full caffeine coffee. Fingers x'd that blood pressure isn't high at midwife today

AmethystMoon · 18/04/2012 12:57

Hi all

Kveta I am glad your LO has woken up and started to move about a bit, it's so worrying isn't it when they go all quiet. I laughed at your productive day of work writing a title...glad I'm not the only one who has days like that!

Tea So pleased you had a good night and littletea is hanging on in there :)

Cathfin, Special and others...looks like a wisley meet up would be viable for some of us later in the summer :) Maybe with another nearer London for other too...any excuse to meet up for a day out Grin

Mini I had a lovely 'non-skinny' lemon and poppy seed muffin from starbucks witha chai latte yesterday...sodon't feel too bad about your brownie :) It was sooo good Grin

Gwen have a fab time on your last holiday before LO arrives and Grin to spending the Europe money on nappies!

Warlin I am a cheapskate and am using the freebie Boots changing bag. DP likes it because it is black and non-girly. It does seem a little small to me though, so I'll see how it goes. Although I did think it might stop me packing it full of crap I don't need! I have also heard several people say they used it too and loved it.

I would also like to join the stupidly tired club along with Special and the others (well most of us I think). I just want to sleep! I can't even have a lazy day on Saturday as I have NCT from 10:00 - 16:00, and tonight. I hope everyone relaxes a bit more tonight, it was a bit formal last week, although it was the first night, so to be expected I suppose. I don't want to come across as some crazed over friendly loony, but it would also be nice to be able to have a proper natter Grin.

I had an appointment with a physiotherapist this morning. She has recommended I go swimming to do some exercises she has given me in the water. I haven'tbothered with a maternity swimsuit, but think I will have to now. Can anyone recommend one that's not too expensive and fits 'generously' over the backside Grin. I am generous of hip and bum and can't bear it when the leg holes dig in across my rear and highlight my cellulite (which incidently has got a LOT worse since being pregnant Blush)

Right off for a coffee and to hunt for some motivation to get on with my work.

Kveta · 18/04/2012 13:54

so after posting on here, I went and got some fruit juice and fizzy water, and started glugging it in hope of waking baby up. Nothing doing, she remained stationary (basically hadn't felt a movement since about 5am, and it was getting towards 11 - normally she'll have moved a lot in that time), so I was getting panicky.

I ended up calling the hospital for advice, and got a lovely, calm, midwife, who told me to go and lie down and count the movements over a period of an hour, and if I couldn't count 10, then do another hour, then go in if baby wasn't moving enough.

So, sure enough, half way through chat with MW, baby hoofed me in the ribs, and has just been doing a jig on my bladder, so am :o but also Hmm about why she couldn't do this earlier?! babies!!

sorry not to read and respond to everyone, I have to go and get DS early today so I can go home and rest a bit - with a 2yo galloping around, that'll be fun :o roll on June!

warlin knew I forgot something from previous post, try looking at either the bababing satchel

www.bababing.com/

or something from skip/hop? they have a few different styles and not flowery patterns.

I'm going over the top, and treating myself to a Pacapod. Paying for it with some of the money I've made from selling stuff clothes I'm now too fat for on ebay recently

bemybebe · 18/04/2012 14:36

Ha-ha, I was just about to post bababing.
I got it 30%off as an ex-display discontinued model (all or at least most of my acquisitions are some sort of bargains Grin), so I cannot advise on current stock, but what I have is very well thought through (insulated bottle compartment, changing mat and a pouch included) with lots of bits and bobs that may (or may not indeed) come in handy.

bemybebe · 18/04/2012 14:39

OMG Pacapod looks gorgeous.

ChateauMargot · 18/04/2012 15:56

Another one here who's slowly starting to realise that this baby is going to have to find a way out in the not too distant future! Would be reasonably confident at giving birth at the size she is now (bump measured 30cm at 31-week appointment yesterday), but the thought of another two months' of growth is scaring me slightly Shock

Sympathies to all sleep-deprived folk - I'm also finding nights a challenge at the moment.

Moses basket arrived on Monday, which started to make things seem a bit more real. I can't remember whose husband it was who was slightly freaked out by the baby's movements, but mine is exactly the same - bless 'em!

Re changing bags, am planning to go for one of these - they don't scream 'having a baby has caused me to sacrifice all sense of style' and look rather nice for summer: www.etsy.com/listing/95780683/water-proof-diaper-bag-black-and-ecru

Warlin · 18/04/2012 16:16

Thanks for the advice on changing bags..I have emailed all options to DH but I'm guessing he'll want something black....as a self confessed handbagaholic, I would out buying the most outrageous and colourful one I could find but DH won't even hold my handbags as is so if he's going to take LO anywhere I'll need to compromise Grin

'll join the tired club too.....I am sleeping well enough but the routine of work, dog walking, housework and daily life is really getting to me. Not sure I'll cope with another 5 weeks.....this week is dragging in! 32 weeks tmw so still another 8 left...:(

My LO has def been quieter the past few days too but not sure if he's jsut running out of room...he is moving but just a bit less than normal.

I am battling pretty constant heartburn and a baby that seems to sit on my bladder permanently. Amethyst I'm with you on the cellulite...I never had any but now I do on my thighs and bum...it disgusts me Shock Hope it' goes away but have sneaking suspicion it will be a problem area for evermore!

Miniangel · 18/04/2012 16:51

Kveta glad the baby is moving about now, it's so worrying when they quiet all of a sudden. Baby Kveta- give mamma a big kickie for me.

SpecialJK snap, I am treating myself to a Pacapod too. My friend has one and I feel in love it. It's expensive at £80 but should be well worth it.

Tea Glad you had a bleed free night, may it continue for a week and you get to go home with Baby Tea cooking inside till June.

I am so looking fwd to my first NCT class tomorrow. I hope I get a good crowd.

Has anyone started looking at nurseries already? I am told that I should start now if I want to get my child in a good one. I will start work next april so am going to start reseaching soon.

McKayz · 18/04/2012 17:44

TDW I hope you get some dates sorted out soon. We found out today that DH is back to work on the 5th May. So 8 weeks works out at about the 30th June for him to be home. Feels very strange knowing that he will probably be a Dad when he comes home.

Kveta I am glad you have movements now. I always seem to find just as I am about to ring the MW she starts to move about like mad.
Tea I am glad there are no more bleeds. I hope it stays like that and you can go home soon.

Warlin Glad you got lots of help on the changing bag front. I will be using the free Boots one again I imagine. I haven?t looked at any so if I want a different one I guess I?d better have a look.

We?ve put the cot up today. I love it. I decided to buy a gorgeous purple one from Kiddicare and it is almost the exact colour my bridesmaids were in so I am very pleased with it. Also the moses basket and monitor came today.

I am attempting to write my birth plan this evening. I want to get it done so I can talk it over with MW. I also want to get a bag packed too. Then if we need to transfer it is all ready and if we don?t it?s all in one place.

Hope everyone is ok! Does everyone else have this awful weather?

SpecialJK · 18/04/2012 18:38

hi girls. had a stressful evening so far. DH just walked and told me his name is down to go to Afghanistan again next April. I'm now so stressed as I was going back to work full time in April, to quite a high-pressured job. I just don't know how I'm going to cope working full-time and with a 10 month old baby on my own for 6 months. I have no family around to help either Sad The type of job I do can't really be done less than 5 days a week, and it's career suicide in my company to go back less than that.

I feel like it's taken all the excitement and shine, and instead of enjoying it, I'm going to spend my whole mat leave worrying about what will happen when he leaves.

Maybe I wo'nt feel the same about having a career when LO arrives, but even looking past that, it's my wage that pays the bills and mortgages, so I regardless I can't afford to not go back to that type of job

ChateauMargot · 18/04/2012 19:14

Oh, God - sorry to hear that, Special. Talk about stress Sad

At least you have the better part of a year to prepare for it, I suppose... who knows what may change in that time?

What does your DH say?
