Hi all, not posted in ages, but I have been so busy at work and then completely pooped at the weekends, so spent my time looking after DS1 and sleeping. Well today is my first day of my 40 days holiday, then I go straight on to 9 months maternity leave. I actually felt a bit bored this morning, so I baked a cake. Got lots planned for rest of week, including a huge spring clean of the house.
Tea, fingers x that you get better soon, I know it must be really boring in the hosptial but it is the best place for you. Hope you get to go home soo, when all is ok. Sending you lots of get well vibes.
Emblosion Hope the weather holds for the wedding, have a great day xx
McKayz Glad all is well after the scare of the private scan, that weight sounds so much better. Glad the homebirth is back on the cards.

I'm also happy to meet up after the births, I'm in a village just outside Salisbury, on the wiltshire, dorset border, so not too far away either. But I have lived in Aldershot and Chichester, so also know those areas well. Not sure how to get to centre of london, wouldn't fancy driving there, but maybe one of the outer areas would be better.
Sorry for mammoth post, hope everyone is well, take care xx

rrrayray · 16/04/2012 20:29

Hi all.

Sorry for lack of posting.

Tea - sorry to hear you've had more bleeds but pleased they were small. You
Are in the right place.

Maternity wear - I agree tight stuff is often more comfy & also more flattering. I've got some fab top shop over the bump leggings which I've been living in. And nice Tunics / tops.

Meet up - game for idea in principle. It seems A fair few of us are in Hampshire
We are about to move house to just outside Romsey.

Registered with new doctor today and wants to see me tomorrow so hopefully I'll have new midwife shortly.

Also have private strep b test. Itching to do it & know the results! Although I'm
Told princess Anne Southampton don't actively treat those in labour for it anyway?' shocking if true!

Kveta · 16/04/2012 20:46

re meetups, I haven't a scooby about the geography of England, so have no idea where you all are if it isn't London :o but are there any stately homes we can all get to? like Windsor castle maybe?

MW appointment today was ok - I am measuring big for dates (34cm at 32+6), and she was v. sympathetic about insomnia. Baby is cephalic and behaved herself. birth plan was read by MW and approved of :o

It seems some of us are closer than I realised! I work in Guildford (30 min drive) from my house, and obviously Woking not much further and Chichester is about 25 mins away from me Grin it would be great to meet up Grin kveta's idea of meeting up somewhere specific like a stately home is good.....my geography's a bit rubbish too....is Wisley Gardens near many people? That's lovely in the summer, nice tea and cake in the cafe Grin

TeaandHobnobs · 16/04/2012 22:20

Oooo I love Wisley Smile

My mum and dad took me there often on a Sunday when I was little, so it feels like a significant part of my childhood was spent there! Rock cake in the cafe, yum

I was debating buying RHS membership for my parents so BabyTea and I can tag along

bemybebe · 16/04/2012 23:03

Oh, Wisley Gardens... Absolutely lovely place and i can utilize this trip by getting a consultation on my poorly holly bushes Wink

bemybebe · 16/04/2012 23:04

Windsor is also great... I am up for either of those and any other suggestions. Timing maybe more of an issue, but I am definitely up for it!

TortoiseshellMillie · 16/04/2012 23:06

Hello everyone!

Just found this thread - a little late, I know!

I am 29+3 with my 2nd child, and very excited. It's lovely to read through this thread and find so many people at the same pregnancy stage!

Just wanted to say hi x

AmethystMoon · 17/04/2012 04:06

Hi tortoises Smile welcome

DairyNips · 17/04/2012 07:51

Welcome and congrats tortoise Smile

Sorry I've been awol, was in bed lull yesterday with a terrible stomach bugSad ds2 had it too but seemed to bounce back considerably quicker than me! I'm just about feeling human this morning. Thank god for dh, he took the day off to look after usSmile My mil is gonna watch the boys today whilst I recover a bit, phew.

Haven't been able to catch up properly but I will..

McKayz · 17/04/2012 08:18

Morning.

Tortoise welcome and congratulations

Dairy I hope you're feeling better soon

TDW how long until your DH is home again?

I'm knackered. I only woke up once last night and went to sleep straight after going to the toilet. So why I feel like I haven't slept I don't know.

smallwonder · 17/04/2012 09:40

Good morning all,
With DS1 the AN group here on MN all met up in Hyde Park and we had a great time, would love to meet up with you all too, problem is 3 small children and a small baby, would be good if I could drop them to grandparents and just come with baby or at least just two. I'm in for meet up too if the above plan works :)

McKayz - Am envious of sleep and only one toilet visit! I'm up and down like a yo-yo and have now taken up residence in the spare room. I've been keeping DH awake and then when I get comfortable (finally) he snores or does something that irritates me -- am looking fwd to being the old me again, I'm such a grump right now when it comes to trying to sleep.
Perhaps you didnt get as much kip as you though, or maybe too much :)

Dairy Hope you recuperate today. My DC are at MIL, I'm having the laziest day ever!! Take things easy while you can.

Waves to Amethystmoon, bemybebe, Warlin, TeanHobs, Tortoise, Kveta, Rray, ffnorm, TDW, SSC, hope i haven't missed anyone.

Hospital Bag -- Received baby's bag so started to pack it, despite being my fourth memory fails me completely. I packed:
nappies, cotton wool (and eco wipes, more for me than LO), infacol (precautionary was only needed with DS1), 7 small size babygros and 2 that are for 8lbs and over. Same amount in vests. Sudocrem.
Realized I had forgotten to buy muslin squares, baby hat and mitts, blankets!!!! Have i forgotten much else?!
And does anyone know where i can get a really nice comfy dressing gown from, one that's suitable for hospital and the first couple of days when home and receiving visitors.
Thanks girls.

Kveta · 17/04/2012 09:47

think Wisely Gardens is about 1.5 hours drive from me, we are just south of Cambridge. We need to map out where we all are and pinpoint the most central meeting place :o can do that via FB once babies are all out and we know what we're doing with them - so in about 4 years time then... just kidding, maybe in August, once olympics have sodded off.

hope you feel better soon Dairy, enjoy a bit of rest today!

welcome Tortoise!

McKayz I didn't sleep at all last night, so am also knackered. It is getting ridiculous. I almost want to admit myself to the hospital and demand sedatives for a few days just to get back to normal. I am quite scared at how I'll manage labour and a newborn on such low sleep reserves. It was hard enough with DS, but with him and baby to deal with, yikes. I'm starting to wonder if I have ante-natal depression/anxiety though, as I've noticed when I'm starting to fall asleep, my mind jolts me awake with some imagined horror (last night I kept visualising myself behind the wheel of the car on the motorway, previous nights I've been rolling onto a baby, or standing on a cliff edge). It's very odd. I'm also being v. sick again, spent this morning over the loo, bringing up bile, then bringing up my breakfast later on. Just lovely.

I have just managed to dribble hot chocolate all down my front. It's not even 10am yet Confused think it'll be a LONG day... Right, back to 'work'.

gwenniebee · 17/04/2012 09:58

Gosh kveta hope you get some sleep soon :( Sounds horrible.

Dairy hope you are feeling better. Tummy bugs are soooo yucky.

Hello everyone else and hello to tortoise too :)

Wisley Gardens ring a bell... I think my parents used to take me there when I was really little. Possibly on a bike seat.... could they have done that from West Horsley? We moved away when I was eighteen months hence I have little recollection! (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.)

Am feeling quite pleased with myself this morning as sent a list of things we need to the babywear and equipment co-ordinator for Oxfam in our area. We met her in the Oxfam shop but she happens also to go to our church - she said to send her a list of what we wanted and she would let us know what she had. She says it's all in good condition and a lot BNWT, as they say. Anyway, overnight had a lovely reply from her saying she loved our list and my message and she thought we'd have a very happy and and content baby with such sensible parents! :o I liked her before but I like her even more now!!

Oh... better get on with jobs :(

McKayz · 17/04/2012 10:26

I live in North Yorkshire so I doubt I'll be at a meet up Sad

The cot has just arrived!! Grin

Miniangel · 17/04/2012 11:12

Hi sorry I have not posted for a while but have been catching up as and when I could. I had a supreb baby shower- will post some pics on the profile and have got some very nice and generous gifts from my friends. It was very exciting to open them all.

I have my growth scan today so really looking fwd to seeing the LO. I am still vomiting so the consultant got me 2 growth scans - one today and another on 8th May. I want these 2 months to pass by quickly now. Got one strech mark on my tummy even after applying bio oil regularly, hope don't get too many more.

Meet up is a great idea. I live in Epsom, surrey so can meet up at wisely gardens or windsor.

small I am anaemic too. Have been taking 1 iron tab and thankfully have been keeping it down. I take it at bedtime and it is ok. Have been told to increase the dosage though.
emblosion Hope you have a fantastic wedding day or was it yesterday. PG brain is pretty slow these days.
Tea Hope you have a bleed free week. Hope the hospital stay is not too dull.

A big wave to everybody else. Hope you have a good day.

Warlin · 17/04/2012 11:34

Morning all!

Gosh you have been busy on here!! I feel I missed loads since yesterday morning!

tea so sorry to hear you are stuck in hospital. I have never been in hospital and the idea of even a night there terrifies me! Just think how pleased your cat will be to see you when you get home :) Sending you hugs and Thanks

kveta not good that you're not well again. My morning queasiness has returned a bit too but not as bad as yours sounds.

I'm sleeping surprising well but it's really sore when I wake up. I keep wakening on my back and find my bump painful and my back aching. I woke durning the night busting for the toilet but when I went nothing came out...wish LO would stop lying on my bladder :(

Welcome tortoise

And welcome back TDW..how long until DH home again?

Is milly still about...haven't heard from you in while. Hope all ok x

mckayzr great news that LO is normal size and yeah to the homebirth! So pleased for you. Good luck with the scan today mini. I have one next wed and can't wait to see LO again. He was 3lbs 3 weeks ago so hope he's not massive now!!

Jealous of all those off on mat leave....I must admit I'm finding work a struggle now. It's the getting up early, commute and then struggling to concentrate all day....27 days to go...seems like forever.

Doubt I'll be able to meet up as I live in Northern Ireland. I am over in London a fair bit but don't think I'll be there much once little Thomas is born.

I still need to write my birth plan, prepare my hospital bag and get nursery sorted...seems so much still to do....must get online...

Work are lucky to have me here today!

Waves to everyone else

TeaandHobnobs · 17/04/2012 12:06

Urgh I know I said I love teaching hospitals, but I'm starting to get a bit bored of recounting my pregnancy and medical history to a new med student every day Hmm
Also acted as a guinea pig for three students this morning to figure out which way baby was lying - which meant 4 different people poking my bump. Made me feel a bit ill!

blondiedollface · 17/04/2012 13:36

That would annoy me too Tea Hope you're feeling a bit better this afternoon!

Warlin · 17/04/2012 14:27

tea I don't blame you....you don't mind helping but not being poked and prodded all day!

Today is dragging in.....I just want to go home. Really don't think I've got the energy or concentration for another 5 weeks of work :(

Kveta · 17/04/2012 14:30

Warlin it's like you just read my mind - thinking EXACTLY the same about work :( I have written a whole title of a paper today. a title. That's about 10 words. I am not a valuable employee this week. Hoping for some sleep tonight, please god let me get some sleep...

off to pick up DS in a wee minute though, dodging the puddles which have mysteriously covered Cambridgeshire (and Hertforshire actually) since the hosepipe ban was announced :o

Just popping in with a cheeky link. My dh is doing the great north run. A massive challenge as he isn't a runner and has a few lbs to lose! Please pop over to the thread I've started for himSmile www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/1452064-Please-donate-one-pound-to-this-very-worthy-cause

SpecialJK · 17/04/2012 15:16

hi all - took me ages to catchup, lots of chat since yesterday! and my brain can never remember what everyone has said

tea - sending best wishes again! I'm in my london office today on the south bank, so in shouting distance nearly of you!

I like the fact from listening to nearly everyone, everyone seems generally not too bad at the moment, and nice to hear from people like TDW, not heard from you in ages!

After waking up yesterday at 3.15am and then not getting back to sleep, last night was better. Heartburn coming back. can't complain really if that's my only gripe. Think my blood pressure might be going up though, as I've had those 'tracer' things in front of my eyes a couple of times recently. I have midwife tomorrow so will get BP checked then and hopefully it's ok.

Wisley is lovely, I was thinking about getting a yearly pass for there and taking LO walks on nice days when I'm on mat leave. I know my friend did that. I can't remember who asked, but yes, West Horsley would be in cycling distance from there.

After olympics would be ideal, I have a vision of me losing the plot for the first couple of months when LO arrives. I should have figured out what end is which by then Grin

p.s - I had a dream the other night and in it, LO was a girl, even though we've been calling it 'he' since week 12. Think that means anything???? Smile

thedogwalker · 17/04/2012 15:18

Tea ouch, I wouldn't fancy being poked and prodded all day, hope they don't need to soon.
Welcome Tortoise
Kveta and McKayz and all those suffering from little sleep, sending you all some sleeping vibes and I do hope you manage a good night sleep soon. I am such a grump when my sleep is interrupted so my heart goes out to all of you.
DH's return date keeps getting put back, arrggh, not a happy bunny and trying to get his bosses to understand that by delaying him a few days here and then a few more there are leaving it pretty fine. He should now be home 30 May / 1 June, if all goes well and they don't delay it anymore. That leaves me with a fortnight's grace, so here's hoping that LO doesn't come early. I will have to keep my legs crosses.
Hope everyone is having a good day, take care xx

ceeej · 17/04/2012 16:08

Quick post from Skye where the internet is a scarce resource, hope everyone is doing well, feels like we're really racing towards our due dates now!

tea sorry to hear you're still in tommies, am sending minitea stay put vibes

emblosion hope the wedding was fantastic

Can't remember who had a problem with iron tablets but have you tried spatone? Tablets block me up completely but spatone is not so bad.

I've also had a return of morning nausea recently and been ravenous in the evenings!

Big wave to everyone I've failed to mention, memory like a sieve nowadays.
