Worried about Little... still BROOKING NO ARGUMENT for a positive update soon.

TheLittleFriend · 18/01/2012 19:19

Hi everyone
I'm afraid it's bad news. The sonographer confirmed I had miscarried. It looks like I passed everything yesterday, so no medical intervention needed. We are devastated, but I feel surprisingly calm and clear-headed about it. Now that the event has happened, the worry about it happening has gone, which makes me feel a bit calmer. That is the only way I can describe it.

I have to go back for a blood test on friday to make sure the hcg levels have come down from today, then that's it. Thanks for all your support everyone. I'll be keeping an eye on you all for news of you beautiful, bouncing, no-brooking babies soon. xxx

pommedenoel · 18/01/2012 20:33

Too - It's actually only 5 weeks and 5 days to go really! Bit scary now. The wrangle over dates was that consultant thinks I should be induced at 38 plus 1 and I've gone for 39 plus 1 as they put me 5 days forward at my 12 week scan and I think it's impossible. Therefore 38 plus 1 would really be 37 plus 3 which is a bit early (and she agrees).

She has agreed with me as long as I promise to monitor baby during week 38 very carefully and go and see the midwife for sweeps a couple of times which I will of course.

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 18/01/2012 21:11

Oh Little so very sorry. Take care of yourself and take the time you need to grieve. :( Thanks Brew

We will keep your glittery bucket safe for when you return to us and don't forget we are still here if you want us. :)

DreamingOfPeace · 18/01/2012 21:14

eeek pomme! were you induced last time? Yuck. But sooo exciting you meet your little girl soon. Very soon!

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 18/01/2012 21:16

Dh has agreed my name choice! Obviously now I am not sure... But it is an option!

pommedenoel · 18/01/2012 21:19

I was dream at 38 plus something. At 38 weeks the risk of stillbirth for someone with my condition starts to rise significantly so they like to get the babies out asap then. I am really excited and really nervous now - major butterflies!

Purple - ooh how exciting! Good work! Have you told us that name? I can't remember...

pommedenoel · 18/01/2012 21:19

I also am recording OBEM rather than watching it due to a bloody football match!!

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 18/01/2012 21:21

In many ways it is nice to have a date in mind, have to say the not knowing when my baby is going to rock up is a bit off putting.

Hugo and then his mn choice Magnus. I have even put a thread in baby names to see what happens.

pommedenoel · 18/01/2012 21:25

Good response so far Purple!

I really don't mind my induced, planned, medicalised births. In a way not having to make the decision of where and how to have baby is easier. I do love to plan as well so a fixed date is good for me!

musicalmrs · 18/01/2012 21:33

Little, I'm so sorry :( I hope you and your DH are looking after each other, and that you're doing as well as you can be in the circumstances. Thinking of you.

..I'm watching OBEM about 20 minutes behind as I have only just got back from bell ringing. While eating carrot sticks. Wish they were cookies..

Biscuitsandtea · 18/01/2012 21:54

Little - thinking of you Thanks

I'm really sorry if this seems a bad time to ask a question in light of everything that's happened today, but I do have a bit of a question - the last couple of days I seem to be getting a bit less movement again. As I've mentioned (a lot) it takes me all day to get to 10 kicks. There are still movements but it seems to be taking me longer again to get to 10. Also the kicks seem less 'pokey' iyswim. They're a bit more gentle.

Do you think I should be concerned / call the mw? Or do you reckon the baby has just moved?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 18/01/2012 22:06

Little I am so so sorry. Sending you lots of love xxx

scarletfingernail · 18/01/2012 22:20

Biscuits I'm sure everything is absolutely fine. However, as you are concerned that this is happening on a regular basis I think that yes you should call the midwife. She did say when you last saw her that you should call if you still had these concerns going forward, so I think it would be wise for you to get checked over and get your mind put at rest.

How cute was the young girl's baby boy at the end of OBEM when he was looking at her? I melted at his cute little face.

Weird one here.

Is anyone else having problems finding this thread? It's disappeared from threads I'm on and if I'm logged in no longer appears on the ante-natal club boards.

I've been having to log out, find the thread through ante-natal clubs, then log in to post. Then it all disappears again?!

Any ideas how to get this fixed?
