Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LaTristesse · 13/02/2012 20:00

I had a few twingy moments last night which got me nervous. So I packed my bag today Marshmallow, doesn't hurt to be prepared! As it turns out I think bub was just complaining at being sat on repeatedly by DS.

A three week wait for a prescription?! Cripes, I thought our surgery was bad!

Hope all's well Riamay, it does sound like waters to me, maybe just partial. They'll want to monitor you at the very least I would imagine... Hope your mw is helpful.

Scan estimated DC2s current weight as 6lb 5, and birth weight as around 10lb. Turns out that my family do have big babies though - and all bar DD (a rather dinky 8lb 2 in comparison to most in my family) were born vaginally with no assistance, so it might well just be average for me! Scan weights are notoriously inaccurate though. Having GTT on Thursday so I can rule out GD. That'll go down well with my plans for homebirth if it's positive, but having looked at various things including NICE guidance, even if I do have GD I think I will still plan as normal and see how I feel on the day.

Bugger bugger bugger though. Didn't have any of this with DD, textbook pregnancy until 42 weeks there Sad

JambalayaCodfishPie · 13/02/2012 20:21

I want a growth scan. Sad I'm interested.

Can I fake a big belly by drinking lots of pop? Grin

newmummyvicky · 13/02/2012 21:19

Hope all is well Riamay
Ill like a growth scan too, i suposse will just have to wait and see the size. my husband has quite small babies on his side between 5lb- 7.5lbs and on my side quite big i was 9.1 and my sister little one was 9.3.

Baby is doing lots of waves too, and starting to push down a little bit at times too. It seems more awake than asleep latley.
Didnt know you could get gavison free, i drink a lot of milk, half a pint when i have heart burn- really does help.

Flisspaps · 13/02/2012 22:11

Jambalaya It wasn't as exciting as I'd hoped. I could work out what was the head and the toes and the fingers, but as baby is so squashed up in there it was just a mishmash of limbs and body parts - not as interesting as the 20w scan where it's big enough to see everything, but small enough to see it all really clearly!

riamay2011 · 13/02/2012 22:32

Well.....i went in and it took a midwife a doctor and a senior doctor to exam me to come to the conclusion that i was leaking discharge plus "some" liquid which they described as looser than normal. I have been told baby is already 2/5th engaged and doctor said he reckoned i would labour within 2 weeks given my history, position of baby and leakage.
So, what do i think? God only knows we will have to wait and see but ive been told to go in as soon as i feel wet or have the slightest pain

I just want this baby out now!!! Just got home and went in at 1pm!!!

riamay2011 · 13/02/2012 22:33

I need a Wine any want to join?!

Flisspaps · 13/02/2012 22:34

I'd love one!

Bunsouttheoven · 13/02/2012 23:02

I'll join you toRiamay your head must be spinning.

riamay2011 · 14/02/2012 08:02

It feels as if my whole body is spinning!
Managed to leep ok last night DD was only up once for a feed. Am anxious now after being told i have 2 weeks, maybe i should push for steriods?
DD was born at 35 weeks i had steriods with her at 34 weeks.
I thought if baby was engaged i wouldnt feel it moving as much but its so low i feels like its gonna come out sometimes!
Sometimes i get like pins and needles down below for ages should i mention that?
Oh and i still have no double pram or crib!

riamay2011 · 14/02/2012 08:41

Ok so thought i would post again and see what you ladies think as google is failing me!
I have a sort of period pain but its low down and feel like its in my back passage too....its right under my bump and up my moo...
Any thoughts

Flisspaps · 14/02/2012 08:55

Sounds like it could be it riamay. I'd call the hospital and speak to someone, if this is it then it's probably best they get the steroids into you ASAP. Even if this isn't it, it's better to be ringing for everything than to ignore and leave it late. Smile

newmummyvicky · 14/02/2012 13:07

riamary i would def get checked at the hospital. sound like something is going on!

keep us posted if you can, hope all is ok?

WINE sounds good, whats everyone plans for Valentine da,? Dinner, wine, sex and chocolates! I think i will just be the dinner and chocolate for me! lol x x x

LaTristesse · 14/02/2012 18:42

Agree with phoning for advice Riamay, if baby is back to back you're more likely to feel it in that area, saying that my recent twinges have been a bit period pain-y like you describe, and there's nothing happening there. Given your recent events though I'd definitely ring in...

Oh and make mine a G and T please, and a big Brie sandwich! Grin

riamay2011 · 15/02/2012 11:27

Hi
I rang and was told to take paracetamol Hmm even tho was told to just go in
Anyway feel ok today, have the odd real bad pain that takes my breath away.
Dont know what to make of this one! Just got to wait and see if it makes an early entrance! just been taking it easy....
We dont know what this baby is yet, and i am getting anxious as i thought the other day its going to be hard to go out shopping for a newborn with a 10 month old......maybe we should find out on our scan on monday....they are scanning me to check fluid and groth as i am MASSIVE!
Anyone nto found out the sex...i mean if its another girl were safe but if it has a dinkie were screwed!
we dont even have a double pram or another cot yet was thinking about getting a cot divider what are peoples opinions on this...
Anyway hope your all ok, wish we could reallthave those drinks Wine not long now though ladies!!
6 weeks and 2 days and COUNTING!!!! Grin

Lorrainbow · 15/02/2012 11:58

I feel massive, my husband says I'm not but I'm pretty sure it's in his job description to say that. Another teacher here on half term, I want to go back to work to ask professional opinions on bump sizes (new mums!)

All the women I know who have given birth in the last year are quite short and petite and I'm tall so I don't think I am that massive comparatively... I just feel like I've doubled in size in the last week! My light kicks have turned into proper jabs now and he definitely doesn't like anything resting on his bump - including laptops and elbows!

I want him to be here already! But healthy and not requiring a long stay in hospital. I need a time machine to fast forward to April 28th. 10 weeks, 3 days and counting....

lizmarshmallow · 15/02/2012 19:51

can't believe I'm 30 weeks today, another 8 weeks of work (if I can make it!) but starting to feel pretty big. I still weigh the same as I did in my booking in appointment at the start of October! So I've been loosing weight and the baby has been been putting more and more on. I needed to loose it and the MW is happy so I suppose I shouldn't stress about it.

Heartburn has started and think the hair is now growing on my bump. Feeling pretty tired most of the time but thankful for my Wednesday off work to recharge the batteries.

Hope all is well riamay, I don't know what we're having. Thought we'd have a wee surprise!

Still haven't made a move to pack my bag, I can be so lazy sometimes!

riamay2011 · 15/02/2012 21:06

where have all the April mummys gone??
you all seem to have disappeared!! Shock
i have no hair on my bump.....never have had in pregnancy!!!

Tinwe · 15/02/2012 21:24

Hi Tia, think we're in similar positions, my DD is almost 10 months now and we're woefully ill prepared for baby with no double buggy etc. Baby is a girl tho so at least we don't have to worry about clothes etc. I've not got hair on my bump either!

Lorraine and Liz, I'm huge too! I forget how far along I am but I'm officially due 15th April, but since I didn't have a period after DD and she came 2 weeks early I'm not sure when DD2 will arrive! I've suddenly started with heartburn, pressure and a lot of braxton hicks and everyone's saying "there's No way you'll last til April" so I'm beginning to wonder...

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 15/02/2012 21:25

Liz I've put on less than a stone too, not worried as baba is clearly growing and nice and huge. Lost just over a stone before I conceived, so quite happy that even now I'm not back up to starting weight Grin

I'm exhausted, cannot get enough sleep. Went back to bed yesterday while DH stayed up with DS, and slept for an extra four hours. Had a lie in this morning and come teatime couldnt keep my eyes open again. Poor DH hardly sees me awake!! Getting to sleep isnt the problem, its staying asleep, tossing and turning all night.

Riamay how are you this evening? How are your possible contractions? I'm getting what I think are Braxton Hicks this time that are a PITA! Never had them with DS, but they are apparently worse with each subsequent child...?

Tinwe · 15/02/2012 21:31

Aha! beyond I didn't know that about braxton hicks - v interesting. Last time I had a lot of SPD pain which it turns out was v similar to my contraction pain so I'm beginning to think I may have had some but didn't recognise them. This time there's no mistaking them!

Just checked and I'm 31 + 3 BTW.

riamay2011 · 15/02/2012 21:37

well i just posted something on the pregnancy thread about heads being engaged. i didnt actually realise that 2/5ths was ALOT. like nearly fully engaged i always thought 5/5th was fully engaged! I am v.worried now.
I am having bad back pain and pain in my lady bits and having read on the net about heads being engaged there is a mixed reaction?? could be months or weeks.....i dont get it...dont know whether to believe the consultant?
i think im just in that frame of mind where i dont want another prem but 36-37 weeks is ok, wekll better than 34 which DD was born at.
I feel ok, a bit sick am goign for a lot of poo's at the min sorry if tmi, boobs are leaking and had some slimy stuff when i wiped last night, plug??
Also, when baby moves its really painful and it feels like its punching my pelvis! :(
How long would you lady say now? am getting fed up Sad

riamay2011 · 15/02/2012 21:39

Also maybe ignoring the fact that baby is imminent as i am SO SO SO unprepared....Just like Beyondthelimits :)

LaTristesse · 15/02/2012 21:44

My mw told me yesterday that subsequent babies don't necessarily engage at all until contractions start, which surprised me. But she explained that as the pelvis was looser there was more room for baby to move down then up again rather than down and stay there. Sounds to me like you might be on your way Ria if your plug has gone, my contractions started within hours of the plug going last time. Although that's not always the case...

OP posts:
Bunsouttheoven · 15/02/2012 21:53

Re the plug, with dd. She was born same day as I had the show but with ds he was born 5 days after show. Midwife said some people don't have babe until weeks after a show.
On the engaged head thing a midwife said that if they put 2/5 on notes it is a bit of a guess. 3/5 is more definite. That second babies may become engaged but can easily pop out again due to more space in pelvis.
