Hi No Brookers! I do hope this has worked and is in the right place...

I've added a few extra sofas so we have plenty of space for all the Rat Smackers who will be joining us soon. There's also a nice long table filled with mince pies, yule logs, gingerbread snowmen and xmas puds! Plus some non-alcoholic mulled wine. I've strategically positioned a few clean glittery vom buckets under the table, just in case it's still a bit too early for xmas munchies for some people!

As you were...

GenericDietCola · 20/12/2011 16:09

Yes I'm very grateful it's in the morning. Thank you for your good wishes and brooking! Will update tomorrow afternoon.

dreamfeeder · 20/12/2011 16:11

we will all be lurking I'm sure.... ! Oh pants, except I'm at work- I'll try and lurk, but didn't get a chance at all either day last week... Still, this is exceptional circumstances.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 20/12/2011 20:38

Wow, Hawthers, 7lb10! Yay for the power of brooking...Are you nearly at term now? If so, there is every chance you will go into labour before the CS date.

Biscuitsandtinsel · 21/12/2011 05:27

Just whizzing in to say GOOD LUCK to Generic and for this morning's scan - brooking super hard and looking forward to hearing all about it later xx

Sorry for being quiet yesterday. You'll be glad to hear that thus wasn't because I was embarrassing myself weeping at strangers, just mega busy all days. Read lots but no time to post. Stooooopid RL getting in the way Smile. I seemed to nip out to do a few errands a supermarket trip in the morning and got home about 4pm totally knackered!!! I'm finding supermarket shopping is getting harder and harder - especially if ds insists in sitting in the trolley (like yesterday). I mean it's much easier to shop with him in the trolley in one respect but it's heavy and it was quite a big shop yesterday so made my bump ache Confused. And then all the bag hoiking. Fortunately ds loves to help putting it all away Grin.

Still only getting a handful of movements a day. I've been wearing my kick counter bracelet but not getting to 10 over the course of the day yet. DS likes to sit with his hand on my tummy waiting for a movement, but gets bored after a while and just jiggles it and then wants to move the counter on Hmm.

Too glad you're ticking those weeks off Smile

I feel as if I've been pg for EVER, but still have ages to go Confused. Maybe it'll all feel more 'soon' once Christmas is out of the way?

Right must go, DH wants to read iPad with his breakfast xxx

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 21/12/2011 07:17

Good luck Generic!!! Can't believe you're having a scan already - my how time flies!

pommedenoel · 21/12/2011 08:02

Generic - Good luck
Scream - Not sure I said Yay for a healthy scan yet! The private clinics can tell gender from 17 weeks.

ScreamIfYouWantToMeetSanta · 21/12/2011 08:49

Just popping in to wish Generic good luck for the scan!

musicalmrs · 21/12/2011 10:33

Generic, good luck for the scan! Will be lurking to hear your news.

Biscuits, I used to have the same problem with the supermarket shop because of my back when it was playing up, which is when I switched to online shopping. I find I save more money (as I pay more attention to the special offers!), and even if I forget things, which is inevitable, doing a top-up shop in a big supermarket seems not to irritate it as much as doing a full shop does!

Wants, so glad your car is fixed! :)

Yesterday's rehearsals were interesting - the groups I expected to do brilliantly were rubbish, and the ones I was really worried about were fabulous! Hmm. Day at home today, and then the concert tomorrow morning before freedom! Well, freedom to stay at home and tackle my to do list - oh the life of a freelancer! Xmas Hmm

On the plus side, dragging DH to Mothercare later to start looking at prams and carseats. Plan is to try and make a shortlist, so we can look for some good offers in the post Christmas sales.

JenFestive · 21/12/2011 10:59

Looking forward to hearing about Generic's scan.

I'm still very boring here and not had any movements. I'm 18+3 and getting impatient! Still waiting for a bump to appear too. When do you start to put on weight as I have managed to keep off the 1/2 stone I lost due to morning sickness.

Am I right in thinking you are due tomorrow Hawthers? Remember that sex is supposed to help bring on labour so a little Christmas fun is needed Xmas Wink

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 21/12/2011 11:19

Hello, I have succumbed to plague so have been AWOL again, had DH Christmas work meal on Friday and was a bit naughty, had fillet steak medium/rare and it was heaven on a plate!
Dd is a bit grotty, I am still feeling rough and DH has come down with it and is sleeping it off and missing a day of work which is not like him at all!

Hawthers that is such good news, this brooking really works!

Dream and any one else suffering sleep deprivation
Wants so glad things are looking up for you Xmas Smile

I saw Bartlett posting on another thread, I really hope she is ok. :(

Great to hear about yet more brilliant scans and looking forward to finding out how many Colas there are. Xmas Wink

I hate grocery shopping anyway and do it online usually, but I am going to have to go on Christmas Eve to do the last of it. Terrible timing it will be packed!

My BP has been in normal range again so not having another check up for three weeks! Woohoo if it keeps like this then I should be able to have the baby at local MLU, I so hope I can!

Sorry for the lame catch up and for being so slack!

musicalmrs · 21/12/2011 11:53

I've seen Bartlet posting recently too Purple. I've been thinking of her a lot recently.

I don't envy your Christmas Eve shopping :( That said, my shopping is being delivered on Fri, so if anything important is missing then it'll have to be Christmas Eve for us too. Sorry you're still feeling rough, hope you feel yourself again soon!

Jen, could you be another anterior placenta-er? I'm a week ahead of you, and have been feeling quite a bit of movement recently. I'm also sporting quite a bump, but I think that's down to my particularly petite size. I'm not entirely sure on the putting on weight front - my scales are a bit unpredictable, but I think I've only put on 2-3lbs as of yet. I'm a tad worried that's not enough, but I'm sure the figure will rocket over the Christmas hol though! Xmas Grin

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 21/12/2011 12:54

Luckily, it is only ALL the veg, sausages, bacon, smoked salmon and odds and sods. I already have the Turkey so not too worried as I am sure roast potatoes and gravy will be fine if it all goes tits up? Xmas Wink
Pay day 23rd and there is no way I am shopping on my own, so 24th it is, unless I go in the evening 23rd which is usually pretty disastrous with Dd! Hm a possibility actually since I would like to go to two supermarkets the opposite end of town from each other...

Music with DD I put on a lot of weight in the first trimester but not much more until the last 6 weeks but I didn't look like I had put on much as I was skinny to begin with if that makes sense? Anyway I blimped right at the end and never got round to shifting the weight!

I seem to have put on weight steadily since about 14 weeks so hoping I won't blimp at the end again!

DeckTheHawthersWithBells · 21/12/2011 13:05

Jen yes due tomorrow.... have tried all the tricks in the book (it feels) even sex with DH which at the size I am is a miracle that we've managed it as often as we have (5 in the last week! ) but it still hasn't done anything. DH was rather irritating yesterday which put paid to another go at it but we'll have to DTD today just in an effort to get things moving. right off to drink another awful cup of raspberry leaf tea.

brooking for all you lot continues - hmm where is generic with news of her twins?

dreamfeeder · 21/12/2011 13:18

where is generic?! made a big effort to sneak on here and no news!!! lol

I was 8st 5 when I got pg, lost half a stone easilywith the ms, and am now 9st3!!!! So from my lowest put on over a stone, I'm 23 weeks tomorrow... I put on 2 in total with DD. Lost it all and a bit more by 6 months though, with the walking her for naps and bf.

hawthers, I tried DTD last time, no impact for me either. No for ages already, due to my wierd paranoia about prem labour, plus my varicose veins... Must make an effort soon when I'm 24 weeks at least!

I've not seen bartlet around, but do think of her a lot...

pommedenoel · 21/12/2011 13:33

I think I'm the only person in the world that puts on weight from the get go in pregnancy, it goes on steadily in 4 half stone jumps (hoping that it's only 4 this time too!!). Blimping at the end seems more 'normal'.

JenFestive · 21/12/2011 13:36

So it seems that all you slim people show early. Must be because I'm a fat bloater normally that is stopping me from showing.

DeckTheHawthersWithBells · 21/12/2011 13:53

have put on around 2 and a half stone i think this time and weigh more than DH Blush. can't remember when i started to show but it was a lot earlier second time around.

no idea how long it will take to lose but everyone does keep telling me that it must be all bump and my DM told me at the weekend that i don't look pregnant from behind. bless her - she does lie quite well.

DH is only getting quite so lucky due to the potential of evicting mini h. poor baby has been getting completely mixed messages.

GenericDietCola · 21/12/2011 14:00

I'm sorry to say the scan did not go well. There was an embryo, but it was only 6mm with no heartbeat, so I think it must have died a couple of weeks ago. They want me to have another scan next week just to be sure, but I know my dates are right and I'm sure it's all over. This will be my third missed miscarriage, so I feel very upset. I think I'll give brooking a break for now as we're not sure we'll try again, maybe we need to be happy with one child at our age. I know I'm not ancient at 36 next month, but in reproductive terms I'm past my peak.

Enjoy the rest of your pregnancies and births and peprhaps I'll be back at some point! X

TheLittleFairyOnTopOfTheTree · 21/12/2011 14:02

I am so so very sorry generic. Gather your loved ones and hold them tight.

Look after yourself my lovely, I'll be thinking of you lots. xxxx

ScarletFestiveFingernail · 21/12/2011 14:08

So very sad and sorry Generic. There's nothing I can say. This TTC and pregnancy lark is so tough and unfair at times.

I hope we do see you back, but understand how devastated you must be feeling right now. ((((hugs)))) and love to you and your family.

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 21/12/2011 14:08

Generic I am thinking of you all right now. I'm so sorry.

JenFestive · 21/12/2011 14:11

So sorry to hear that Generic. Look after yourself

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 21/12/2011 14:15

Oh Generic :(
Take care of yourself and we are still here if you need us.
If it helps I know a lady who had three mcs in a row after her second child and then conceived her third at 36/37. And surely you will be checked out for problems now?
I know how you feel though, I said to Dh that if this pg didn't work out I didn't want to try again, it would have been my 3rd loss in a row so I can really understand where you are coming from.
:( Thanks Brew

dreamfeeder · 21/12/2011 14:34

Oh generic, what a terrible loss. I'm so sorry. I'll be thinking of you, and i hope you can enjoy at least parts of Christmas with your lovely little girl and Dh. You're right to count your blessings, but I hope we do see you here again. Xxx

GenericDietCola · 21/12/2011 14:35

Thank you all - we'll be OK.
