PearlyFish · 09/04/2012 19:23

Hi,
Hope you've all enjoyed Easter weekend despite the dismal weather! I'm visiting family and having a good time, except I seem to have given myself heartburn or something by deludedly thinking I can still wear my regular jeans. That plus massive Easter Monday lunch has left me feeling a bit bleurgh! I've got my scan on Thursday so all being well I'll sort myself some maternity jeans :)

Glad to hear things are good with you lanky, hope your little man is over the colic soon. Late that is a lovely neat bump (have been invited to a wedding when I'll be 32 weeks and have been trying to imagine how big I'll be by then!). Hope your last days at work fly by. That's a great mat leave package you've got, mine is pretty sucky even tho they call it 'enhanced'.

Beeble hope you have an amazing scan day tomorrow! Am not far behind you :)

Looking forward to seeing the new BFPers from Frolickers Conception thread soon!

PearlyFish · 09/04/2012 22:08

Ooh Beeble I didn't notice how early your last post was, hope the scan went well.

Beeblebear · 09/04/2012 22:42

It was great! Two arms, two legs and a wee little beating heart.

s1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb425/Silverbear2/?action=view&current=Photo0312.jpg

Baby was very cooperative and stayed still for all the measurements. Risk assessment came back as very low odds of chromosomal abnormalities . 1 in 9000 or so for downs.

Super pleased.

Pearly, I went shopping for new pants this weekend before the scan as I had no more work pants to wear to work tomorrow! I went to the second hand shops and got a few pair of brand name jeans and pants reg $60 at the store and got for around $7. I also bought one pair new.

Wishing you good luck for your scan on Thursday!!!

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 10/04/2012 09:53

Eeeeee Beeble, look at your little baby! I just love that 12-week scan when you get to have a really good look at it Smile
Very reassuring to get those low odds - hope you're feeling happy and relaxed about it all now. I don't think I even had a 'speed bump' at 12 weeks, although I definitely noticed (when it finally did show itself around 20 weeks) that the bump feels bigger & heavier in the afternoons than it did in the morning.

Pearly, by 32 weeks you'll def be in maternity clothes which makes it easier I think as you'll be beyond that phase when you have the thick waist and not much of a bump. I found it easier clothes-wise once there was a definite bump there to work around Grin. Looking forward to hearing about your scan!

Gosh, it was a bit hard to haul myself out of bed & into work this morning after that Easter break, thank goodness it's Tuesday already & we get to Friday that little bit faster Wink

Beeblebear · 10/04/2012 13:50

Late, it was great. We got to see the tiny litte feet and fingers. So cute n tiny. Also saw the baby.s bladder amd two halves of the brain and things like that.

Will look for spina bifida in the next scan very closely. May 24th. But very pleased this far!

Can.t wait to get dressed this morning in my new maternity pants.

DessieLou · 10/04/2012 17:22

Hello....It feels very weird to be graduating to this thread, I'm going to miss the TTC frolickers! I got a BFP last weds (has taken me a week to get my head round it!) my EDD is 1st December.
I'm still in the shocked stage and was convinced the two + signs on the tests I did were a figment of my eager imagination! They have been sitting on the kitchen table ever since and after checking them a few times a day for nearly a week I am beginning to think it may be real! I may throw them out now as it is probably getting a bit unhygenic! Blush
I feel horrendous. Constant nausea, exhaustion, sore boobs and a nose like a blood hound! The only thing that doesn't turn my stomach when I see/smell/think of it is fruit so have managed to lose half a stone in the last 2 weeks so thats a bonus!
I look forward to seeing MCT on here soon who is graduating too. Smile

PearlyFish · 10/04/2012 17:55

Ah! What a lovely scan pic Beeble! It must be so reassuring and a bit odd to see a real live cute little person in there :) Did they agree with your current EDD or did you get a new date?

Late I am also feeling the pain of being back after the Easter holiday, it was soo hard to get up today!! Still, as you say, we are that bit closer to the weekend and my scan day for having Monday off.

Yay and welcome to Dessie! I had a collection of pee tests in a drawer for a while for reassurance until it sank in, and then I was able to chuck them. Sorry to hear you are feeling so rough, hope it doesn't last too long.

Hope everyone else is well.

pixiestix · 10/04/2012 19:38

Just a flying visit but...

Congratulations on your scan Beeble! Great photo! Smile

Welcome Dessie! Smile I took a photo of my BFP which is still on my phone 18 months later Blush so don't feel bad about keeping your stick for a week!

Late you look so gorgeous! Fabulous bump. You are definitely on the downward stretch now!

Empusa PM one of us your FB name and we will add you to the group. Warning, there are many, many beautiful babies to stalk and you might get addicted very quickly Grin

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 11/04/2012 08:31

Come in and make yourself comfy Brew
I actually still have my BFP stick from when I got it way back in October last year - and I'm not chucking it! It's a posh one with a cap over the unhygienic bit so I reckon it's ok.... Hmm It's in this little file/book tracking the pregnancy, with all the scan pics and some diary entries.
Sorry to hear you're feeling rough, really hope it doesn't last - at least it's not all for no reason Wink

Thanks Pixie - I'm not feeling terribly 'gorgeous' at the moment to be honest, what with the heartburn, the leg cramps, the CONSTANT trips to the loo and struggling to get up off the sofa!

Pearly, roll on the weekend and more scans of delicious little babies! Grin

WHERE is Florin? Has she abandoned us? Sad Or maybe she went on holiday and decided not to come back...Grin

MCT76 · 11/04/2012 09:46

Hi there! Wink It seems I cannot hide any longer so here I am...coming out of the woodworks after plucking up the courage to accept that I am now "up the duff", however surreal it still seems...I am worrying quite a bit but it's best to worry with others than alone after all, isn't it?

I also have my BFP stick (with protective cap and all) sitting on the chest at the end of my bed. I still look at it from time to time just to make sure I've not been imagining the whole thing all along! I am nearly 7 weeks now and time is dragging no end, crossing the days until the 12-week scan. I had my first appointment with the midwife yesterday which, much like I'd anticipated, was fairly pointless. She asked me when she could come to see me at home (I guess they need to make sure you're not living in squalor and assess whether they need to report you to social services or something Grin) which will be on May 2nd and not much else. Given the state of my brain at the moment (fairly mushy and spaced out), I forgot to ask her whether it was necessary to take Pregnacare or any of those supplements. Do any of you take them?

Beeble: Thanks for sharing the picture of your scan. It looks amazing!

Dessie: I also felt horrible the first couple of weeks (headaches, exhaustion, etc) It seems to be getting more manageable now although I still feel very tired (sleeping more than 9 hours a night which is very unusual for me) and slightly queasy but I actually enjoy having symptoms as, somehow, it makes it feel more "real" in my crazy little head...

Late: not long to go now! It must be so exciting!

It's nice to be here in the company of such lovely ladies...Smile

zippys · 11/04/2012 13:03

Just thought I would pop my head round the corner and say hi :)

I know lots of you wont know me but there are still a few names I recognise, although I do wish you had all got your BFP's by now. For those of you who do recognise me I thought I would update you. Next month brings me to 3 years of trying (yes I was on the original frolickers thread!! After the mc at the back end of last year I thought I would break in two (I would have been due next month - which I still think will be a very difficult few weeks). However on a positive I am now married and we are starting IVF at the end of this month. So scared it wont work but I know I have to have a positive mental attitude.

Sorry I cant post more personal messages but wanted to let you know I am thinking of you all and you all have a very special place in my heart.

zippys · 11/04/2012 13:05

Sorry copied and pasted and posted before changing as posted on ttc board too!! Yay for all the BFP's Grin hope you are all ok

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 12/04/2012 13:37

Hello zippys
Best of luck for your IVF treatment, really hope it all comes together for you. How dreadful for you to have that mc after trying for so long - be good to yourself when that due date comes round...

Welcome MCT, you are indeed upduffed, Officially Upduffed if you've already seen the midwife - very exciting Grin I think it is a good idea to take some kind of vitamin & mineral supplement, especially folic acid. I was taking the conception supplements, so finished those off and moved onto Pregnacare which seems to have everything that's recommended. They are a bit pricey, but if you look online /on Amazon you can often get deals on buying several packs at the same time (likewise with BioOil for stretch-mark prevention!). Boots often to 3 for 2 as well.

I'm now getting up 4 times in the night for loo-visits - is this the way your body gets you conditioned for the nights of broken sleep ahead....?Hmm

PearlyFish · 12/04/2012 18:50

Hi all

Had my scan today and it was amazing! Very active baby, who luckily calmed down enough to get some nice still shots. Have put one on my profile (hope it's worked), showing baby with hand up to his/her face. Dating was about what I thought. I made it 13+1 but dating estimate was 2 days out at 12+6. I was given the same EDD the midwife gave me though, of 19th October (mumsnet calculator makes it the 20th). Reckon I need to get on and get some maternity clothes sorted (jealous of beeble's comfy-sounding maternity pants!), there is a definite small bump appearing!

Welcome and congratulations to MCT, are you also due early December like Dessie? I second late's recommendation of pregnacare which does always seem to be on 2 for 1 offer. Dessie hope you are feeling better now and managing to vary the fruit diet. I always want apples when I feel queasy, but have mostly felt fine in the last couple of weeks. Yesterday I dipped satsuma segments into melted easter egg and which was yum!

Sorry to hear about the loo trips late Hope you are good at getting back to sleep again quickly afterwards!

Hi to zippys, congratulations on getting married and fingers crossed for your IVF. Hope you drop in again soon with some good news :)

Beeblebear · 12/04/2012 22:45

Pearly, I can't seem to click on your name to view your profile! Anyone else having this issue, about 1/2 members I can. 1/2 I cant. Is your profile marked as private perhaps?

So glad that your scan went well! Did you get screening results, or were you doing that at all?

Definately get yourself some pants NOW! Mine have the belly panel, which have taken a couple days getting used to, but now it feels kinda... snuggly!

PearlyFish · 13/04/2012 10:09

Thanks beeble it should be unlocked now?

PearlyFish · 13/04/2012 10:14

Oh and yes I am getting screening done, had bloods taken yesterday and they measured nuchal fold which was apparently normal. If I don't hear in next 7-10 days I should assume I'm low risk, then I'll get my risk probabilities at next midwife appt. If I'm high risk then they'll call me in sooner. Am impressed with Canadian health service giving you your risk factor on the day! Just got to keep fingers crossed and wait.

Beeblebear · 13/04/2012 17:18

Oh how adorable. your bean and my bean look like they could be twins! lol
Any feelings on gender yet???

In canada we just go to a different clinic a week or so before, and they send the results to the ultrasound clinic. We had to wait about 30 min after the scan to meet the nurse to go over results.

Did they tell you where your placenta sits? Mine is predominently posterior... so that means I should be able to feel the kicks sooner... I swear every few days, when laying on my stomach I can feel tinly little twitches and kicks in there. My uterus tips backwards too, so having a full bladder actually pushed it further away for the scan and I had to partially empty my bladder 3 times. They said next time only drink a cup of water 30 min to an hour before. not 4 cups 2 hours. OMG

Beeblebear · 13/04/2012 17:18

ps - fingers crossed for you as well!

bunnygirl80 · 13/04/2012 23:59

zippys lovely to see you. Congrats on your wedding, and good luck with the ivf. Hope to see you back here with some good news soon x

Long-time frolickers - what happened to the peeps under the 'TO BE CONFIRMED' section?

PearlyFish · 14/04/2012 09:38

Thanks for your comments on my scan pic Beeble, our beans do look very similar :)

I'm not sure on gender, still think it could be either. I often think boy but mainly based on old wives tales (e.g. not much morning sickness = boy, puking = girl) which I know aren't reliable (I know people who had no morning sickness and had girls). Have you had any inklings about yours?

They didn't give me half as much info at my scan as you got, blimey! I think the placenta is on my left though, based on sensations I had earlier in pregnancy and a funny sound I hear with the doppler on the left, which I think of as the placenta. Might be totally wrong though! That's amazing that you might be feeling kicks already :) I had a flipping sensation in my stomach yesterday which I'm sure was my little acrobat, but probably going to have to wait a while to feel kicking.

Dessie and MCT hope you are both feeling ok and not going too mad counting down the days to 12 weeks.

Late and Flick how are you both?

Beeblebear · 14/04/2012 17:34

Pearly. I lol as i'm sure they will look nothing alike when born

I'm also thinking a boy due. Also because I seem to feeling good and not too ill. Also, my belly seems to be getting hairy. Gross

PearlyFish · 14/04/2012 21:44

Hehe, should have made the :) a Wink

I hadn't heard any tales of hairiness meaning a boy. In my case that's a sign I'm not sure I'd notice!!
