ange8179 · 10/01/2006 13:12

Just wanted to say congrats to those of you who've had your babies. Can't wait till mine arrives. Good luck to those who haven't had them yet and lets hope they're all born as quick as Georgie's. ;)

YAY! An announcement at last!!!!

Congratulations Georgie, and wow, what an amazingly quick labour, hope it wasn't too terribly intense for her... Can't wait to hear more about birth and little Liberty Violet (what a fabulous name)!

lyra41 · 10/01/2006 14:39

Georgie

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

FANTASTIC NEWS, GLAD EVERYTHING WENT SO WELL AND WELCOME TO LIBERTY VIOLET.

I think i'm having a very slow lead into labour... i'm having a show on and off and fairly painless contractions when i walk about. i'm taking caulopyllum to try to intensify my contractions, but it doesn't seem to be having much affect yet. i had the acup therapy 11-12 and she said i seemed ready, but it could be several hours till things hot up. i'll go back for more tomorrow if no baby appears overnite.

Eshay · 10/01/2006 15:10

Good luck Lyra! Keep moving about but don't exhaust yourself.

Tickle · 10/01/2006 15:16

Yay georgie fab news. Libby is a gorgeous name Sounds very like my second labour - nice that it's over so fast but a bit of a shock!! Thanks for letting us know Iris

Been to the mw lunchtime - she doesn't think my mum will get to see this one born Still only 1cm dilated (same as last wk) and babe still a bit far up in the canal If he doesn't get a move on and come out by Monday I have to go to the mainland to be induced (at 40+14) Can't believe it'll come to that tho.

xx everyone

Tickle · 10/01/2006 15:17

Lyra - sounds like things are starting to happen for you tho... so good luck tonight

sweetkitty · 10/01/2006 15:24

Lyra - sending you loads of contraction vibes just checked your due date and your 10 days over now you poor thing and here's me moaning about being 4 days away from my due date. I'm so impatient though. The show looks like a good sign though, fingers crossed.

Wonder how everyone else is getting on especially Rachey and Lisa, maybe they have had their babies by now.

My BHs have started up again but I don't hold out much hope of anything kicking off in the near future.

iris66 · 10/01/2006 16:23

Lyra - all the very best for tonight & hope you have a lovely calm labour at home ((hug))

Tickle - I'm sure you'll have your LO before monday & it's not happened for you already but hey, you get to hang out with us a little longer & read all the announcements (small and v feeble attempt at consolation I know

I can't wait for the rest of the announcements: mak, maman, rachey, lisa Reckon we're nearly time for one of your stats updates SK

sweetkitty · 10/01/2006 16:31

I know Iris I've been itching to do an update but will wait for more announcements.

OP posts:
lyra41 · 10/01/2006 17:13

things are very slow and on and off here. really i've just had a show like Tickle, and possibly a bit of a leak of waters, still could be days . i've not rung the mw about the possible leak as i'm not comletely sure that's what it was, and i don't want to be put on a schedule for induction. there's clearly plenty of liquor left, as so little has leaked so far, so i think lo's safe from infection if it is a proper leak.

off for a warm clary sage bath....

iris66 · 10/01/2006 17:26

On the upside, he's definately on his way Lyra

Dh is filling the pool at the moment for a trial run to see how long it takes to fill/go cold etc. Seriously steamy windows here lol - I wonder how long it will be before a neighbour calls to see if I'm in labour Am actually waiting for my mum to call at the mo. She's taken to ringing daily to see if I'm in labour. Very sweet but intensely irritating - and she seems to have no end of gory tales about childbirth & induction that she is only to keen to tell me about - not helpful . DD has strict instructions to say I'm in the bath if I am in labour or at the hospital though so at least she'll be spared the 1/2 hourly phone calls that XDH had to endure when I was having her!! I feel so mean but....

iris66 · 10/01/2006 17:30

Lyra - do you have the full range of homeopathic remedies? I've been told to try Gelsemium or Pulsatilla (200c) if Caulophyllum doesn't appear to be hitting the spot after a couple of doses.

iris66 · 10/01/2006 17:33

in fact... I said to DH that i thought Pulsatilla might be the best one for me anyway & so he set up a "Blind" dowsing for me (layed all the bottles out on the floor (name side down)& I dowsed them with my pendulum) Pulsatilla was the only bottle I got a positive with. He was gobsmacked (secretly so was I tbh). If nothing else it also proves that instinct works too!

Mum2OneAndBump · 10/01/2006 18:12

Evening Everyone,

"CONGRATULATIONS" to Georgie & welcome to baby Libery Violet what a lovely name very pretty Hope your birth was ok & you are relaxing & recovering well.

Goodluck Lyra sounds like things might be moving for you

Oh it's so exciting i wonder how Rachey & lisa are getting on & if either have had there babies yet? can not wait to hear all about it.

Well i went to bed quite late last night, before dp & had a good cry, feeling very emotional and tired yesterday for some reason & everything was getting on top of me, hundreds of thoughts running through my head on how i was going to cope with 2 kids, how & if i will ever leave the house again once the baby is here anyway ds slept through till this morning so i was so glad i actually had a nights sleep with no interuption.
Ds has been a bit better today, i kept him off nursery & also dp stayed home fro work to help out as struggling with my lack of energy at the moment.

Had nothing happening here things are still quiet, nothing seems to be working, was very very sore in my pelvis yesterday & this morning & have been finding it very hard to walk, maybe i have a bit of SPD??

Anyway feeling bit better this evening, i also seem to have more energy when it gets to about 4pm its strange!

Dp thinks i am mad cause i have hoovered twice within 1hr, i am getting a bit obsessed with any little mark!! lol

Anyway i will check in later to see if anything is happening, until then sending lots of contraction vibes to you all xx

Mumfun · 10/01/2006 18:21

Congratulations Georgie - Liberty is alovely name. Hope your having a lovely time getting to know her!

Roll on the rest - hope everyone is as comfy as poss. STill no signs here but I live in hope!

lyra41 · 10/01/2006 20:33

thanks for the tip iris, will try the other two remedies as the caulophyllum doesn't seem to be working.

sweetkitty · 10/01/2006 21:02

M2OAB - I could have so written your thread had quite a rough day today, loads of BHs and pains and have felt thoroughly miserable. My DP came home at lunchtime to help out a bit. My DD is a great baby but even things like trying to change her are so hard right now. MW coming to see me tomorrow. I feel terrible as I'm not even due for another 4 days can you imagine if I go overdue? I have the 2 babies panic quite often, I won't have any help apart from DP who works/travels long hours. Still suppose I will cope. Still won't be long for us all.

Have a good night everyone looking forward to all the announcements tomorrow, contraction vibes aplenty!!

lyra41 · 11/01/2006 06:57

morning

been awake since 5 so i thought i'd come on here and see how you're all doing.

still no contractions , unsure whether to go for more acup today, she offerred it for half price, so maybe.

show is still "on the go" as it were, and has got redder overnite, after a bit of natural prostoglandin treatment courtesy of dh, so i know it shouldn't be too long...

my last labour was similar to this, but the niggling only went on for about 24 hours i think before contractions became established. maybe i've forgotten a lot, it was 10 and a half years ago!

keep thinking about Georgie and Liberty, i hope it's all going well. it will be great to chat to her again when she's back home and able to use the comp again.

so many people are ringing and texting now to see if the baby's come or if i'm having any signs. i quite like it in a way, even though i don't have much to report. it's nice to know so many people care.

i just wish i could produce though!! especially for the sake of my other 2 kids, i feel like i keep getting their hopes up and then they wake up / come home from school and nothing much has changed. they do seem to be taking it all in their stride however, and i guess it will teach them patience and they'll appreciate baby Alex all the more when he's here.

if i'm up to it, i'm going for a walk this am, that's the only thing that gets the pains going, then off to hosp for a-n check and a sweep if necessary. hope it's not too uncomfy.

can't wait to hear from Rachey and Lisa too!
it's all so exciting!

iris66 · 11/01/2006 07:07

morning all

lyra - hope your remedies worked last night

How is everyone today? The hypnotherapy to "tell" my body when to go into labour clearly didn't work as I'm still well & truly here (I was so hopeful too) never mind. I have to go for CTG at the hospital later but am planning a little potter round the shops after to cheer myself up - and it's one of my best mates' 40th today so we're going to a little soiree in her honour tonight - I'm really looking forward to it!

iris66 · 11/01/2006 07:09

Aww - pants Lyra. You are being very stoic though! Hope the walk works (I'm taking Millie out for a "speed" walk once it gets light )

Tickle · 11/01/2006 07:27

hi girls - still here! Lyra, like you I seem to be 'leaking' with this show business too... but I guess it could kick off properly any time so we should appreciate the chance to put our feet up At least that is why I am just off back to bed

My mum left this morning at 6am, so it will be sod's law if this baby arrives today while she is travelling. However, if he wishes to, I'm sure my mum will understand that I don't want to stand in his way!

Iris - my dad is actually calling the most... my mum when at home is a bit more subtle But he doesn't do gory stuff, so that's a blessing! My parents are divorced & when dad is 'between gfs' he phones all the time, possibly becasue he's incapable of boiling an egg. A bit harsh maybe, but v p*ed off with him right now for the way he is behaving with my lovely 'stepmum' (his gf of last 6yrs) grrrr.

M2OAB - it could just be uncomfy down in your pelvis now because the baby's head is taking all the room down there!! And the nesting sounds promising

Just checked the stats thread, and we have a whole rash of due dates around the weekend SK seems dd2 will be a bit more patient than her big sis!

Good luck everyone, have a comfy day
xx
