Really quick post to say I'm going in.... My bp is up and I've got protein in my wee - consultant putting it down to 'new partner' syndrome and I have to go in like NOW to be induced with prostin (just let me home to get my bag) he examined me and gave me a sweep (not so bad), I'm not very favourable (cervix central - 1-2 cm prob like most multipara) but he is optimistic. I burst into tears when they took bloods for cross-matching... feeling really emotional and shocked about it all - at least it won't be long, they won't let me go for days - positive vibes please girls! am crapping myself! Good luck Lisa and everyone else threatening to go

Rach69 · 09/01/2006 15:33

Not how I wanted it to be

hunkermunker · 09/01/2006 15:35

Oh, Rachey - will be thinking of you - think of the baby you'll be holding soon! Hugs x x x x x

GeorginaP · 09/01/2006 15:51

Hey there

Not sure whether anything happening or not. Went to docs and he and nurse 'thought' it might be the start of something. Get terrible pressure down below and tightening at bottom of tummy when I stand up or sit down, but when I lay down it all goes away. Hey ho, we'll see. Beany's head is 3/5 engaged. Is that good or bad?

Feeling rather pants this arvo actually. Bit vommy, bit like I need to go hide under a table and be by myself.....yep, defo losing it big stylee

Glad everyone else is feeling good. Seems as if we were all Sleepless in

iris66 · 09/01/2006 16:11

Sounds like we're all a bag of hormonal pants today - must be working up to the full moon early! Had a major sobbing wibble over my tax return & it's now drying on the side awaiting my second attempt My brain just isn't working at all (I used to be a Govt financier FGS it should have been easy!)

Rachey - fluffy calming vibes from me for the foreseeable - you'll be well looked after & have your LO soon ((hug))

Georgie - you're next honey - closely followed by you Lyra after the acupuncture

DH is going to collect DD now (think I'll just burst into tears when I see her which wouldn't be a good thing! - am filling up again at the thought - what is the matter with me today!!) going to get spuds peeled as a distraction.....

iris66 · 09/01/2006 16:15

sorry - Lisa - you're tomorrow too!! fab! maybe my mystic vibes meant 4 by Wed?!

sweetkitty · 09/01/2006 17:06

Wow see what happens when I go away for a wee hours.

Rachey - I know you won't see this now but sending you loads of good luck vibes. I know it's not what you wanted but the end is in sight now your little fella is well cooked now and you will be seeing him really soon.

Iris - glad your DD is well and on her way home. I think it's the time we are at every time DPs at work I'm uneasy, I want him here all the time just in case.

Lisa - good news about the CTG, don't worry too much about all the things you haven't got yet, when my DD came early we didn't even have a car seat base or a moses basket or crib. DP had to buy a car seat base the day she was born and she slept in the travel cot the first night. Honestly hun it doesn't matter and don't be stressing about tidying up either. With your SPD it's understandable. Get DH to do it or leave it it'll only get messed up again anyway you should take it easy tonight, have a special meal with DH this is your last night as a family of 2 very exciting.

Tickle - good to see you too!

I'm going for Lisa Georgie Rachey Lyra Tickle popping in the next 2 days.

Think I'm in for the long haul now, have had no BHs or pains today, really weird, Georgie I have been getting the exact same pains as you describe but they stop when I lie down but today nothing. Think babe has decided to settle back down still loads of movement though.

Thinking of all you girls in imminent labour xxx

oh Rach

I can't believe you've gone in to be induced, it's making me cry!! my eyes are full of tears for you honey, but at least you'll have that gorgeous baby boy with you soon, and make sure you get that lovely epidural to have a pain free birth - that's deffo what I'll be doing if it comes to induction. I'll be thinking of you and saying prayers. xxxxx

Jaysfirst · 09/01/2006 17:33

having skimmed the thread i am assuming that th induction isnt what Rach wanted, bless her. I am with you on that one babes, but i had to have help and it really wasnt bad, the only thing to focus on is the end result, huge positive vibes, lots of love and loads of energy coming your way!

Bugger bugger bugger. I missed Rachey's threaqd. Our posts must have just crossed.

Rachey - know you can't read this, but am sending you all the good luck in the world. Hon, everything will be OK. Just think of the end result. PLEASE get DP to let us know that all OK as soon as humanly possible.

Lisa - good luck for tomorrow chick. Try and relax and think 'opening/blooming' thoughts.Let us know as soon as LO arrives. Like SweetKit says, don't sweat the little things.... nothing matters apart from you and LO from here on in.

Ta ever so MF. You're a saint.

Mum2OneAndBump · 09/01/2006 19:32

Hi everyone,

Firstly Goodluck to Rachey (i know u won't see this) i hope all goes well for you, sorry it's not the way you wanted your labour to start but i am sure you will be fine once holding your gorgeous little man

Lyra - Thanks so much for helping me to see the pictures on yahoo, you all look fab & what gorgeous kids, i will try & post some once i get a chance!

Well i have had quite a bad day, woke up feeling very sick this morning could not eat my breakfast, managed to get ds to nursery, then felt tad better when i got home, my friend visited with her 4 week old little boy, hes gorgeous made me want my little baby to be here even more. My mum picked Ds up from nursery & brought him home. (what would i do without her)

Anyway from about 3pm Ds started couging constantly, then heaving up & i though oh no here we go hes gonna get Croup (he had this few months ago & it started just like todays cough) very fast & all of a sudden, he ended up in hospital last time having to have a steroid medicine to help his throat open up
I have given him cough medicine & calpol & we sat in my bed with a sudafed vapouriser on, it seems to have eased a bit.

I know i am in for a bad night of coughing, i feel totally moody, emotional & so so tired by just having to cope.
Dp came home from work & had a bath, got into bed & has been there asleep ever since (anyone would think he was 9 mths pregnant) Men huh!!!

Goodluck to all, Georgie you are sounding promising to be on the list i hope things have started for you & baby arrives soon

Well i have 9 days till due date feels like its taking forever i have so much pressure & pain down below i am actually finding it very very dificult to walk now, even more house bound!!

Hope you all have a nice evening i am going to try & sleep, eat pineapple & be with ds through the night no doubt.

xx

horseshoe · 09/01/2006 20:03

Hi all....thought I would check out the new arrivals before logging in to antenatal and glad to see some of us have started the new year with our bundles!!!!

I cant believe all the stress of prem baby and I'll probably end up amazingly overdue!!!!

I hope all had a good christmas.

Not much to update on really just the general aches and pains as usual.

So come on who's next!!!

BBWBabeLisa · 09/01/2006 20:51

Thanks for all the positive thoughts girls. It's official, I'm now terrified! I don't do pain well at all. I can't believe the time's already here. Altho the last 8 months or so have seemed to go by so slowly, I still feel totally unprepared for giving birth. I know I'm going to be given an epidural early on (apparently I'm at high risk of needing an emergency cs, and have some health problems that mean I couldn't be put under general anasthetic so they wanna be sure and get the epidural in and properly sited in plenty of time in case it should be needed for a cs) so hopefully the pain won't be too bad, but can't help being afraid of the unknown.
DH is off picking up the folks from the airport so just sitting twiddling my thumbs for the moment. Its all gonna seem even more real when they arrive. Arrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhh I'm having a baby!!!!!!

Mum2OneAndBump · 09/01/2006 20:57

Lisa it's soooo exciting, i feel so excited for you, it's the most amazing feeling in the world when you hold your little bundle

I you, i can not wait to hold my baby i will never forget those first few minutes holding my ds it's just amazing, be prepared for the tears it can be emotional too.

I can sooo understand you being scared but honestly you will be fine, take everything as it comes, relax & breath through it.

The epidural is wonderful with ds i got to 6cm & felt like i was going to die, so had the epidural within half hr i was sitting uo drinking tea & eating toast having a good old natter with all in the room, truely fantastic stuff!

Goodluck can not wait to hear all about it & see pics of your gorgeous little new arrival.

xx

Tickle · 09/01/2006 21:06

Thinking of you all evening Rachey - good luck

sweetkitty · 09/01/2006 22:10

Lisa - don't worry hun it will all be over soon, ok it hurts (but I never got to get the blessed epidural) but it will be the best day of your entire life, it will be so magical. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Rachey - thinking of you too.

Horseshoe - good to see you come over and have a moan with us still pregnant girls.

M2OAB - hope your DS settles a bit tonight and you manage to get some sleep, poor little man. It's horrible when they are sick. I can't remember how many you have is it one little boy about 18 mo. Nearly the same age as my DD. She was running full pelt tonight and tripped over her feet as they do and went straight head first into a wrought iron dining chair leg, she's fine I was in tears and she now has a huge bruise on her head.

Away to watch ER now and rub some clary sage on bump have given DP the night off!

See you all in the morning x

hunkermunker · 10/01/2006 00:57

Lisa, will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Rachey, really can't wait to hear your announcement!

Horseshoe - hiya, lovely to see you!

Still more BHs tonight, but nothing major. Clary sage still useless

lyra41 · 10/01/2006 07:01

Horseshoe

have you delivered early? i seem to have missed that somehow. does anyone else know? i'm totally perplexed re. your post re. prem babies and then sweetkitty's reference to us "still pg girls." i'll have to do a search and see what's going on!

well i thought it was all systems go last nite. lo had been v quiet all day, and i got to bed about 11 and got a lot of on and off pain right at the bottom of my bump, followed by a slight show, very thick clear gelatin like stuff, but not much of it at all, and the pains didn't really last long enough, each one only 10-20 secs, so i reckon it was all just more preparatory stuff. oh well!

off for induction acupuncture at 11, so i'll see how that goes. hope it works, it costs £30!

lyra41 · 10/01/2006 07:04

well still totally confused on the horseshoe situation. did a search and found nothing. please enlighten me someone!

iris66 · 10/01/2006 08:19

Lyra - I read it that Horseshoe was stressed at the possibility of a prem baby & now thinks she may go over (d'you think that's it?)

iris66 · 10/01/2006 08:27

...and also, really pleased for you about the show Lyra! - acupuncture may be just the little extra boost you need! i do hope it goes well for you.

talking of shows... Georgie/Tickle how are you today? Hope Rachey has had her baby now - and, of course, Lisa gets hers today too!!! Soooo exciting!!!

lyra41 · 10/01/2006 08:35

think i might've had a leak of waters earlier, not sure as it wasn't very much at all, but it doesn't SMELL like wee, so here's hoping.....

Iris
I've cated you re. posting for me after i've given birth. hope that's ok!
