Ps.. I'm new to mumsnet, can someone tell me how you "watch threads". I can see where you click to see the threads you are watching but not how to set that up...
Thanks

FlipFantasia · 04/11/2011 13:41

cravingyorkiebar hello and welcome Smile. Though I'm holding you (well, your user name!) entirely responsible for me eating a load of chocolate after my lunch Wink. No idea how to do the watching thing, am sure someone will have some tips soon.

Hope everyone's well. Happy Friday! All good with me, bar having the hunger of a small pony on me - I ate a massive lunch, followed by crisps, chocolate and then banana fritters and chocolate sauce from the canteen (the first time I've ever bought the pudding option). And for good measure I just had a bag of chocolate-covered brazil nuts back at my desk...and to be honest if anyone cracked opened celebrations/muffins/doughnuts this afternoon I'd happily devour eat them too!

hi all,

Right - apologies for the silence - I started writing a nice long post the other day on my phone (took ages), then stupidly sent it as my phone went out of signal so lost the blinking post (MNet iPhone app doesn't believe in drafts apparently)...Angry

So let's see what I can remember saying (and add a few extra now):

reallea hope you're on the mend after the dodgy tummy incident? Do you think you'll be able to get away for another little babymoon before the baby arrives to make up for this weekend?

Copperlocs sorry you have to wait until past 20weeks for your scan - did they give any reason for it being a bit later than 20weeks?

Flip and Dorcas Glad I'm not the only one to have had small bleeds after DTD - it really freaked me and DH out. Poor DH hasn't been allowed near me since it happened last weekend! Now that we've had the 20week scan and everything seems to be fine, he might get a reprieve! Wink

Do you think Bouncy Beyonce Knowles is suffering with trapped wind/piles/gusset gazing/carpal tunnel/vomiting etc?! I'd like to think she is in some kind of weird world justice!

NFC any news on the job front yet?

Santa Glad to hear mini-santa's kidneys are sizing up - hope things continue to progress positively for you :)

Flip Glad to hear your countdown has begun :) I have 2wks holiday to take before Christmas and what with all the redundancy/job role nonsense plus my mega long commute, I'm taking my maternity leave as soon as possible, so come 9th of December that will be me on maternity leave...5 weeks to go!

cravingyorkiebar welcome! Good luck with your scan this afternoon! Feel free to join the Fb group if you want to share pics. Completely up to you though.

Hello to any others I haven't mentioned!

I had my 20wk scan this morning :) Pics on Fb, but it was just fabulous. Had the same lovely sonographer as before - explaining all the body part and what she's looking for etc. Everything growing as expected and enjoyed seeing the baby wriggle about, cover its ears, drink some amniotic fluid (yummy)?!

Didn't find out the sex - DH wanted to, I didn't, so we asked to to write it down and put it in a sealed envelope we gave her. So if I we change our mind, we have the option to find out. DH thinks he knows from looking at the images, but he won't tell me what he thinks bump is!

Also woke up at 3.30 this morning, feeling really hungry! Had to go feed the beast then couldn't go back to sleep before my scan at 8.45 this morning! So WFH/snoozing this afternoon as I'm feeling really wiped out.

Sorry for the long post - I don't often get on the computer with time on my hands to write posts, but when I do, I more than compensate on word count Blush

cravingyorkiebar · 04/11/2011 16:49

Scan went really well today, baby bouncing around and all looking normal!

Sorry to be responsible for your choc session flip, you have got your own back though - can't get banana fritters with chocolate sauce out of my head now! Smile

ILoveMyDragon · 04/11/2011 18:12

Hi and welcome yorkie. To watch a thread there is a watch button at top of each thread.

Flip, everytime I try and post from my phone it manages to delete itself as I'm posting but atleast I've managed to find the mobile site so I don't have to load up everything all the time.

Went to Dr earlier as I was feeling so rough but luckily no infections just a bad cold but gave me a chance to get some gaviscon on repeat if I need it and for dp who always needs it!

Exceptionally lazy weekend ahead for me. Will have a proper catch up on comp later.

22 weeks....where's the time gone?!

Cactus76 · 05/11/2011 09:27

Hi there, like yorkie I think it's time to say hi after lurking for several weeks! I'm 22 weeks pregnant with baby number 2. Also have a DS aged 5 who is very excited to finally get to be a big brother. Had an amazing scan 2 weeks ago, but didn't find out bump colour.....

So, hello to all and thanks for keeping me updated and entertained and sane and reassured during my long period of lurking!! :)

babydust27 · 06/11/2011 10:23

Hope your all having a good weekend.

Ive got my 25 week check up coming up and will be given my MATB1 form so ive spent this morning deciding when to start maternity leave!!

Going to leave at the end of jan (36 weeks) and be for a year and asking to come back to working 4 days a week instead of 5!

Fingers crossed they will allow me to reduce my hours as 4 days would suit me perfectly!!

My mums coming round this afternoon to help me write a letter with everything in as i know what i want to say but cant seem to word it in the right way!!

My little peanut has become a wriggler at night, i feel very small kicks a few times a day but i get wriggles everytime i sit down!!

Everything else is going well except i had a bad experience at our scan. We said we didnt want to know the sex of the baby and they asked this again about 5 minutes later then went on to say that 'She' waved. Going to talk to the midwife about it when i see her as its really upset me and my DP

NotnOtter · 06/11/2011 13:19

Baby dust oh dear - but could just be a general term the sonographer was using. The same thing happened to us at our twelve week with a top consultant - we said 'er we didn't want yo know' and he stumbled on 'it's too early' or something but dp was cross and upset. You'd think they'd manage to be a bit more professional but heh Ho.
Welcome to all the lurkers!! Smile

I am feeling good but with v poor balance and quite sore pelvis which scares me.

Gained a stone for sure now which is disheartening - need to set myself a target date to NOT hit 11 stone by as come evenings all willpower to NOT eat 3 fruit and nut bars disappears Blush

Going for a moorland walk later so it's either waistline or pelvis that will suffer

ILoveMyDragon · 06/11/2011 15:14

Welcome Cactus

Oh no Babydust it might just have been a general term, my sonographer said she doesn't even look so she can't slip up so might have been a generic 'she'.

Sounds horrible Otter hope it gets better soon.

I fear I may be about to be lynched.....but is anyone else suffering with a lack of appetite? I am waking up starving hungry - I have never been a breakfast person so this is strange for me! But then by the evenin I Will cook a meal but am struggling to eat anything like I normally would.

Anyway hope everyone is having a good weekend am off to change my name to IveLostMyDragon....hmmmm

LilPud · 07/11/2011 10:57

Eh no dragon def no loss of appetite here, thinking I'll be one of those lucky ladies that gain about 3 stone :(. Grin to getting your DP up early for your scan, glad it went well.

Finally I'm reached scan eve, seems like it's been such a long time coming.

otter I've also had pelvis pain, feels like groin strain but gets worse when walking or doing housework and turns into a sharp pain right down my hip. It's been over 2 weeks now and no sign of improvement. Someone please say this is normal!!

babydust27 · 07/11/2011 16:44

I fell down the stairs this morning :(

My toe was badly bleeding and i couldnt walk to had a trip to a&e

The doctor thinks its broken but wont x ray to check because of the baby.

So im going to be sat her with my feet up for a few days and got to go back to the hospital on Thursday to take the bandage off.

Luckily i didnt land on my stomach so im not worried about my baby and when i was on the floor waiting for dad to come n rescue me the baby kept kicking as if to say 'what did you go and do that for silly!!'

KittyRogue · 07/11/2011 21:47

Oh dear Babydust! Take it easy!!

Everything is well this end, baby is kicking away and I am slowly expanding!

Sending love and well wishes to everyone!!

ILoveMyDragon · 08/11/2011 17:33

Shock Babydust hope you ok!! Bugger they can't do anything for the pain either I guess :( If its any consolation I think I might have cracked a rib I have a terrible cough and think that has caused it.

Jolly old paracetamol I guess it is!!

babydust27 · 08/11/2011 19:20

Its not to bad today, still hopping along but i had a good nights sleep and have sat with my feet up all day relaxing!

Sorry to hear that your suffering dragon hope someone is there to look after you.

I felt the baby have hiccups this morning which was so strange! My belly kept getting a little shake every few seconds for about 3 minutes. Ive noticed alot of movement today but im pretty sure its because ive been sat down all day instead of standing up at work

NotnOtter · 09/11/2011 00:50

24 weeks!!! Huzzah!!

NotFromConcentrate · 09/11/2011 10:52

Morning! Apologies for the radio silence, everything went a bit Pete Tong here (baby fine though!)

Knitterati - thanks for asking. I went to a meeting on Fri 21st Oct, at which point I was told my job was being made redundant. We discussed a handover period etc, and meetings with key clients etc. I was told my notice period would be discussed the following week. So that was fine(ish). Spent the weekend at the hospital with dying FIL, combined with trying to celebrate DS1's birthday on the Sunday. We spent Sunday night at hospital and FIL died at 4am, 30 mins after SIL arrived from Spain. Rang my manager onmonday morning, explained and agreed I'd leavemy blackberry off all day Monday. So imagine my surprise when I rang HR the following day and was told my employment had been terminated on the friday, and that they'd sent me two weeks' pay in lieu of notice. So I've been busy with funeral (which was on DH's birthday), handing back my company car etc. It all happened so suddenly I didn't even get time to transfer my private reg from my company car, so I might never get it back.

On a happier note, baby is doing well (22 weeks today!). We had two 20 week scans as s/he wasn't co-operating first time! Still no idea what gender it is, it was firmly bottom-down so we're having a surprise for the first time!

Hope everyone is well - on phone just now but will log on from laptop tonight and catch up on all the news!

Fivesoontobesix · 09/11/2011 10:53

Morning everyone. I broke my toe a few years ago, bloody painful!
My youngest is still under the weather poor little thing, he's not eating and is losing weight, and now he keeps being sick, theres going to be nothing left of him.
Got a midwife apt this afternoon. not seen her for months! Had a couple of scans at the hospital but thats been it. I've booked a 4D scan for next month, a little christmas present to myself, looking forward to that!
I have asked to join the fb group too this morning, my initials are C.R.
Looking at what some of you have been saying about
appetite, I havnt got much of one tbh, I still throw up every now and then too, which is a bit offputtting, and when I do want to eat, its all junk that I want, Mc donalds, pies, stuff like that. Not healthy at all!

MyOtherNameIsBetter · 09/11/2011 14:00

NFC wow what a bad week! I hope things are calming down a bit for you now

Thanks to everyone for your kind words last week after DH's behaviour at the scan. Things are back on an even keel though I swear he forgets I'm pregnant 99% of the time (or blocks it out?!)

Apols for not joining the facebook group, I'm not a facebook member (worried I'd waste too much time on there!)

Just a couple of questions:

Are anyone elses boobs growing like mad? I started off 32C/D and have bought DD now E and I'm growing out of the E's!! I want to keep in wired bras as long as I can but it's getting pricey! I got massive last time when my milk came in (and got stretch marks) so maybe they have more skin to grow into this time?!

Also anyone else getting that acid feeling at the back of their throat? It's not really heatburn I don't think just an acidy taste/sensation. Rennie quoshes it for a bit but not long.

Reallea · 09/11/2011 16:47

MONIB I also started at 32C- I have been wearing 34DDs for the last 6 weeks but I am definitely going to have to buy some more bras this week -I'm doing that horrid '4 boobs' thing where you start to fall out of the top. Not a good look! Am also determined to stay wired as long as poss.

NFC you poor thing- do get on to work and see if you can get the reg back- it'd be horrid to lose them but the longer you leave it the more difficult it will get

5to6 I hope LO gets better soon and that you aren't missing too much sleep as a result

baby dust sorry to hear about the toe but super happy to hear you didn't land on bump

dragon I have also bizarrely lost appetite in the first half of the day but in the afternoon I seem to have a real sugar low and go mad for sweets and chocolate. This is despite eating a decent lunch so I don't really get it!

Off to meet my consultant for the first time tomorrow afternoon. Hoping to try and convince her that I need another scan and then maybe I can find out what gender I'm carrying. Saying that, I'm getting quite used to the idea of a surprise on delivery day.

What is the name of the fb group again?

NotnOtter · 09/11/2011 20:28

dragonandrealea - i am a bit iffy in morning so don't eat....after lunch feel ok - by evening STARVING and unable to stop eating tonnes of crap. Ready brek at 1.00am this morning and starving all night!

i feel huge and felt a bit miz post delivery last time due to serious none weight loss

NotnOtter · 09/11/2011 20:32

soz posted too soon...

so need to try harder re hideous weight gain. I always gain a lot though and my excuse is i start out quite thin - don't know if thats scientific or not but seems true

ILoveMyDragon · 10/11/2011 10:27

So excited one of my closest friends has just announced she's due with her first in may I'll have a maternity and bump buddy! Yay

knitterati · 10/11/2011 10:58

Ilovemydragon - lovely news! Congrats to your friend Smile

knitterati · 10/11/2011 11:08

Oops posted too soon:

NFC sorry to hear about your FIL and job. Pretty crappy time for you by the sounds of things.

No real extra boobage here. Thank goodness - I'm already a E cup when not pregnant so really don't want my boobs to get even bigger!! Worried they'll run out of letters! Wink

MW appt this morning went well. Need to drink more water apparently to prevent piles/trapped wind/tummy tightenings/risk of UTI. It seems water is the answer for most pregnancy ailments right now! Baby's heartbeat there and thumping away too. Smile

On the appetite front, I'm hungry, but can't really eat big portions of things because I fill up v quickly, so going for the little and often approach seems to be working.

ILoveMyDragon · 10/11/2011 13:08

Sorry was very self indulgent quick post earlier off my phone got bit over excited!

nfc sorry for your news hope it picks up soon. glad bubs all seem to be doin good.

And as for my appetite it seems to change on a daily basis atm I managed to do a packet of biscuits last might with dp help which is very unlike me.

As for boobage I'm just ignoring them and hoping there not really there I was an f but the g's I bought are gettin a bit tight invested in some strap extenders which helped a little bit but am uncomfortable today...roll on home time! Doesn't help that the rib I hurt is right under my bra strap bit is feeling better today thankfully!

Forgotten the rest of the posts Blush but will.catch up later on comp
