Now I know the threads we were in weren't finished, but there were 3 threads for the September due dates, and I thought it would be nice to get everyone together and share their experiences.

Stats thread is here If you aren't on there, then get adding yourself.

Hopefully we can all get through the last stint together :)

I'm due 1st Sept, so one month to go, if the LO is punctual.

Opps! Silly phone at 4am dble post

100years · 11/09/2011 04:55

Congratulations Annie and Jimmijam, wonderful news. I am on my phone and I hope I've not missed another birth announcement.

Well little Edith is absolutely gorgeous. But then I'm totally biased. As she was so much smaller than the scans and bump measurement predicted we had to have a longer stay in hosp for 3 hourly blood sugar checks, and when it came to discharge time we weren't sure if she had had a wet nappy so stayed a bit longer only for her not to wee at all all afternoon and evening so we're still in hosp. But she has now done a couple of wet nappies so it's home in the morning. Will do birth story thing when I'm home and got a little bit of time. She's feeding off me fine and has a good set of lungs at times but mostly is very placid and chilled :) and I love her so much.

Hopefully I'll be able to catch up on everything in the next day or two.

Thanks for all the congratulations and well wishes

:)

Ohhhh, I'm welling up! Well done jimmi and annie, can't wait for more details, I'm so pleased for you both. And I hope you're on your way home by now 100years.

I've had bugger all sleep - the endless round of feed, poo, puke, scream, repeat to fade - and just read all my messages on Facebook from friends and family and I'm all emotional as a result. I really need to go back to bed and get some more sleep; DH has taken DS to the local car boot sale so the house is lovely and quiet and DD is sparko so I dunno why I'm still awake really!

I'm cheering the rest of you on like anything (albeit with my eyes closed).

CosmicCloud · 11/09/2011 09:20

Huge congratulations to Annie and Jimmijam on the arrival of your beautiful boys. :) Wonderful news.

100 years hope you get your discharge from hospital sorted nice and quickly this morning. Glad little Edith is now producing wet nappies now and she's feeding well.

Minky I'm with you on needing the loo every 5 mins! Won't miss that pregnancy symptom.

sebs71 · 11/09/2011 09:27

Aww wonderful news - congratulations annie and Jimmi. Hope you both ok, enjoying your baby boys and hope you getting over trauma Annie.
100years - hope you home now and settling in nicely.
Feral - not surprised you're emotional - think I'll be a blubbering wreck!

To the others with me, hope you're all hanging in there ok? This false start / is it or isn't happening really getting to me.

Started having odd pain in evening / going to bed. Then definitely lost the plug around 3 o clock last night. Then had pains every half hour / 20 mins. They were sharp like period pains near where the head is, so bottom of bump. And then they've stopped about 5 ish :(

Did anyone else gets pains when they lost the plug? Really thought things were happening so now disappointed. And feel knackered.

But so pleased for others and felt weepy too on reading announcements...

CosmicCloud · 11/09/2011 09:55

Feral sorry you had a rubbish night. Hope you manage some rest today.

Sebs not sure about pains after losing plug as didn't lose mine until in labour with DS but keeping everything crossed this is the start of things for you.

Jojo1983 · 11/09/2011 10:22

Congratulations annie and jimmi on the birth of your baby boys!
100 Glad to hear you are now homeward bound with your little bundle of joy.

No movement my end but managed a good night sleep only getting up twice for a wee which is good in my books lol

Goes and puts kettle on..... anyone for a cuppa?

tiddleypompom · 11/09/2011 11:20

Yes please jojo !

What terrific news, and congratulations to the latest arrivals annie and jimmi - how can we not be emotional?! 100years I do hope that you're home now that Edith is ready - how utterly fabulous to think about arriving at your own home with your new baby as a new family

sebs am pleased things sound like they are beginning for you now - we're on a roll! cbear I hope you are not far behind - and that the reflexology on Monday helps louplet

Branston Pickles - love it! :o

The sun has come out here and I am going for a walk with DH whilst I have some energy - much better in the morning as evenings v uncomfy and a bit feb up. No signs of imminent arrival, so am resigned to a further week or two making the most of my ability to nap during the day, have long phone chats with friends and generally potter. I am hoping to plant some bulbs before the baby arrives - maybe today is the day.

Enjoy all of those cuddles new mummies and thank you for starting my day on such a positive note! :)

Louplet · 11/09/2011 11:31

Congratulations Annie and Jimmijam!

Am feeling pretty huge and uncomfortable today so trying to get some reflexology today if possible in the hope it will get things moving. Decided not to wait until Monday if I can get an appointment earlier.

If not MWs on Wednesday but really hoping something will have happened by then. I am definitely starting to get grumpy now!

100years · 11/09/2011 12:49

Hi

We are home now :) I've still not caught up on everything, but just to let you know all is well this end, am utterly amazed and in love with my baby girl, she is teeny tiny and perfect.

Hope the ones who are over aren't long, hope the ones who are due today are enjoying their EDD and hope the ones who are still waiting for EDD are enjoying their time at the moment. :)

Just discovered there is a full moon this eve - apparently common time of the month for labours to start (or bunch of twaddle). We shall see..!

Alicebw · 11/09/2011 17:06

Congratulations Annie and Jimmijam. Also lovely to hear you're back home 100 years. I went on the old forum a while back and just thought I'd come and have another look at mumsnet. Due in two weeks but was in hospital last week with high blood pressure and swelling. On tablets now for BP and back home again, but just want to go into labour now. Whilst I was in hospital I had a stretch and sweep and it was really uncomfortable. They couldn't find my cervix so were digging around for ages! Ugh. Don't think it has worked though as still waiting, although mucas plug came out yesterday. Could still be a while though. Patience isn't one of my virtues lol. Went for a swim today and it was lovely. So nice to feel weightless!!

Let's hope the full moon gets those waters going!!

CBear6 · 11/09/2011 18:28

Thanks for the info re: full moon Tiddley! Here's hoping there are a few of us howling at it tonight :o

Congratulations Jimmijam and Annie! A pair of bouncing baby boys and two more Mama's off the bus :)

Louplet, I'm in a complete grouch today too. Told DH that the next person who asks "have you not had that baby yet?" will get a swift smack in the mouth. FIL rang at silly o'clock this morning to make an ill-timed joke about dynamite. It did not go over well. It's only my due date today FFS and there's plenty of time still, I'll admit I'm disappointed that I haven't had her yet but it's not the end of the world. I know people mean well and they're just as excited as I am to meet her but at this point I honestly think that there's not a jury in the land would convict me :o

Alice, losing your plug is promising. I lost mine with DS and went into labour that night :)

I've got almost constant BHs still and keep getting random pains in my lower back, this she's settled in against my spine. I'm at the MW in the morning for a sweep and have it in my head that everything will still be tightly shut and unreachable. We'll see though, fingers crossed that's not the case.

Louplet · 11/09/2011 19:26

CBear6 - glad I'm not the only grouch today Smile

Had some reflexology at 4pm for an hour so fingers crossed it will work its magic again and things will get going tomorrow.

tiddleypompom · 11/09/2011 20:18

Apparently you have to look up at the moon and rub your belly (clockwise)

:o

cbear I am sending good vibes for your sweep - bet you're better progressed than you think. alice all sounds very promising - and I don't blame you for being impatient when you've had a BP scare. louplet I doubt baby can resist reflexology AND full moon...

Just eaten my body weight in roast dinner - seriously it was obscenely big. Phew. Can I manage a small cube of cold chocolate from the fridge as pudding...

Minkyjj · 11/09/2011 21:15

Congratulations to jimmijam and Annie on two beautiful baby boys.
100 years hope you are at home now and enjoying your first night at home.
Feral - hope that you get a good nights sleep.
Cosmic - my loo visits are not getting any better - actually looking forward to a day post csection with a catheter in so I don't have to bother to go !
Sebs - when my plug went with dd and I had period pains for a few hours my waters broke soon after - just gentle drip nothing major though - plug usually becomes dislodged because cervix has softened and shortened so can't be long now I would guess.
Cbear - I have a FIL who sounds as annoying as yours and winds me up a treat but he means well. I am hoping he won't come to visit straight away as I don't think I can cope with his wind ups post op and on no sleep - we shall see. Good luck with sweep tomorrow.
Laughed my socks off at how everyone seems to be having a stroppy day - I have been one very hormonal stroppy pants today but if anyone dares to complain I am not going to apologise !
Also chuckling at full moon - going outside to howl and rub tummy now - only two full days to wait now but still my patience has run out !
Come on ladies let's do some howling !

Conkertree · 11/09/2011 22:06

Congratulations to annie and Jimmijam - great to hear of more bouncing babies on the thread.

Apologies but too tired to post to everyone I meant to from reading all your posts earlier, but one thing I was going to say was, I keep thinking that 40 weeks is an average, so you have as much chance of going early as late, but then I wa reminded that actually its not, and you are much more likely to go late, so I think I'd prefer the French system of 41 weeks and then you really would have a fair chance of being early.

Anyway, ds1 starts his pre-school nursery finally, after our summer move, so once he's had a few settling in days, project baby can properly kick in in this house.

Hope you are all having a good relaxing Sunday, whtever stage you are at.

sebs71 · 11/09/2011 22:15

cbear - hope the sweep is successful tomorrow... fingers crossed that you are more dilated than you think...

And, yes louplet hope the reflex helped...

Come on guys, full moon PLUS hurricane due to get things going... how can the LOs resist??? Hurricane will be handy - it'll be too noisy for anyone to hear the howls from us all!!!

Thanks for all the "losing plus / pains" advice. Haven't really had any more false contractions today, but feeling pretty painful with lots of pressure - so lots of nerve type pains - walking is FUN!!. But, for some reason, I do feel like it's close... except not sure HOW close... we've been planning as if it was going to be today, but I'm now in bed typing this out on my laptop, so still nada. Going to get my dad to come up in the day tomorrow - just don't really fancy being on my own for a long time (whilst step kids in school and DP in work) now. SO hoping it's soon... got another sweep booked for Tuesday - so if nothing happens tomorrow at least that should help?!?!?

I'm a week overdue tomorrow... 41 weeks... Still at least I'm not in France!! Hopefully won't get to 42 weeks - being induced if all else fails on Thursday evening (as I'm the grand old age of 40 they're only letting me go 10 days over)...

Right, I'm rambling now... off to howl at the moon!! Shock

CBear6 · 11/09/2011 23:04

Lots of BHs and pressure, feels like baby is pressing against my bum! I'm hoping her penchant for laziness will carry over to life once she's out in the world, DS was a lazy baby and put sleep above everything.

Right. I'm off to howl at that moon (quietly, so that I won't wake up DH and DS) and then I'm going to bed. Here's to a happy Monday for everyone :)

ssmile · 12/09/2011 02:33

Arh the full moon might explain DD1genetsl hypo state and poor sleep last two nights. I had to give my afternoon nap to DH earlier as he looked exhausted handling DD1 so spent afternoon doing 'quiet' mummy activities of colouring, making pink fairy cakes with sprinkles, dolly play, early tea and loooong bath, she still didn't crash out in bed till 8.30pm with a book on her head! I crashed to and my DH earnt his stripes back by taking babe and I had 3 ...yes that was THREE whole hrs of sleep in a row this eve as he wokeme at 11.30pm with vhungry babe. Bless him lots of bouncing on my birthing ball he had done to stave her off. DD1 starts school tom so we have to all leave at 8.15am....gulp.... hoping she sleeps.

Gd luck with full moon belly rubbing heehe made me giggle.

ssmile · 12/09/2011 03:35

Ggggrrrrrhhhh everyone in the house is asleep except me :( and I need my sleep! :( maybe its full moon keeping me up! Gonna try some milk see if that helps

CBear6 · 12/09/2011 07:20

Oh no ssmile! I hope that you got back to sleep quickly and that everything goes off without a hitch this morning for the school run.

The full moon might have worked some magic for me. Woke up around 5am this morning and zombie walked to the loo, something was a bit off so I opened my eyes and put the light on - have lost what seemed to be my entire plug in one whole piece (yurck!). I'm now having mild, irregular cramps and I've got loads of energy. I'm still going to the MW appointment to see what she says but I'm thinking (hoping, wishing) that the sweep may be redundant now!
