Now I know the threads we were in weren't finished, but there were 3 threads for the September due dates, and I thought it would be nice to get everyone together and share their experiences.

Stats thread is here If you aren't on there, then get adding yourself.

Hopefully we can all get through the last stint together :)

I'm due 1st Sept, so one month to go, if the LO is punctual.

Annie im having baby in Rotherham District General, South Yorkshire. How about you?

Am trying to look up everything on induction as im sure it wont come before then, but I must admit, with DS1 going back to school on tues (after 6 & 1/2 looooong weeks) im quite looking forward to a bit of time on my own to watch This Morning instead of Cartoonito, and put my feet up for a few days!

Hope everything ok x

Annie456 · 04/09/2011 11:20

Ah I'm in London MrsS...nice to know I'll have a induction buddy though! DH thinks he's coming on my birthday in tues...I hope so!! Sending labour vibes to us both! X
Oh and I'm not researching induction as I think I'll end up worrying myself. I'm sure there will be plenty of time for google while I'm on the monitor waiting for the gel/pessary/drip to work. Just wish I didn't have such bad cramps and backache to trick me into thinking somethings happening AngryAngryAngry

100years · 04/09/2011 12:23

How is everyone doing?

Hope you are OK Sewmuch.

Louplet, glad you got hair etc sorted, nice to have a treat before the big day.

Annie, yes I believe she will come when she is ready, even if I want it now. I'm not down about it yet.

feral, no I wasn't expecting the car bumps to do anything, I took my sis over several level crossings when she was heavily pregnant with no effect, but it was funny.

sebs, biscuits were lovely thanks, made some plain oat ones and some coconut and cherry ones :)

Misty, don't worry, you WON'T be pregnant forever - I will though WinkGrin

Bumpy, thanks for sharing your story, sorry to hear you didn't get the full home birth experience, but am pleased that you are nice and blessed out since.

TP, any more animal rescue?

Ha, I really thought things were happening through the night last night. To the point where I was like, right, get some food, have a bath and then get the TENS on. Seems getting out of bed and having some food was enough to stop anything in it's tracks!!! Bummer. Never mind, I did get quite excited i amongst the pains thinking we might be on the way. So a little hey ho this morning, but obviously not the time last night. We are going to have a loooooong walk this afternoon, hopefully that will help things along. Had a few pains this morning, but infrequently so can't even think it's starting soon.

Had a busy day yesterday. The fridge-freezer was delivered, they put it in the cupboard and realised it was the wrong bl00dy size! So they then had to take it away again! What a fecking nightmare with it! So still no freezer. Went out for lunch with friends, then over to some others in the evening. Reckon there is a massive chance LO will now arrive before we get a freezer! Ah well. Joys.

Hey all, thanks for the sharing Bumpy, and def not TMI at all; I think you were restrained to the point of being almost ladylike!

Good effort with the BFing Ssmile, well done for being tenacious and determined. Although I was really lucky and never had any problems at all, enough of my friends have found it really difficult for me to know that it's not easy!

Had a wee bit of a show this morning and have spent hours cleaning like a madwoman. Nothing doing now except wicked backache though. But I have got a nice clean house so if I go into labour then at least the MWs won't be too disgusted by my slovenliness.

BumpyHeffalumpy · 04/09/2011 17:19

ooh feralgirl sounds like something might happen very soon.

I've just looked at my notes and saw that I was in second stage labour for 3hrs 30 mins.Shock Glad I planned a HB or they probably would have given me a c-section by that stage.
Sending labour vibes your way. Good luck, but if it hasn't happened yet, here's a link to something that might cheer you up...

Misty9 · 04/09/2011 18:17

thanks for the birth story bumpy - esp good to read one about a planned HB and transfer to hospital. Sounds like you handled it all very well :)

not much to report here (on 'wombwatch' as another of my virtual friends is calling it!) had some cramping earlier but....then did a big poo Blush Has anyone else found they get cramps before needing the loo?! SPD has flared up so could do with the rest before labour anyway.
EDD tomorrow and need to think of things to do to distract myself :)

ssmile big well done on breastfeeding - I must admit it's one of the things I'm a bit apprehensive about given how frequently newborns feed...

hope all are coping with the waiting - I think my DH is more grumpy about it than me! This morning he told me he's 'bored with poppyseed' now! Grin

sebs71 · 04/09/2011 19:08

100years - what a pain with the fridge/freezer... :( Let's hope the next one doesn't take a while to come... although, we're all getting good at this waiting mularkey now, so waiting for FF won't be too bad I guess!! Hope you enjoyed your nice long walk.

Everyone else - you all seem to be having signs that something maybe starting soon... so good labour vibes to all Confused Haven't had any real signs as yet, despite being due tomorrow, so I've got it into my head that it'll be a few days yet...

Had a lovely day today though - went for a long (well, long by our standards - not by non-pregnant standards!) walk with DP, DSS and DSD and dog, then had late lunch outside in the sunshine at a really nice pub. Shattered now though!!

Misty - I'm lucky tomorrow - got a friend coming up for a catch up and kids back in school so only a short day on my own, so hoping I'll be distracted enough and not thinking about it being due date!!

Continued good luck to everyone...!!!! Grin

CBear6 · 04/09/2011 19:27

Misty, I thought it was just me Blush! Needing a poo seems to trigger cramps for some reason (and hey look, we're talking about poo again, haha!)

Bumpy, I had 3hr 20mins second stage with DS (he was OP) and they were adamant that some sort of limit had been reached and wanted to do a ventousse - I pushed him out myself while the doctor was off getting his toys together.

Feral, sounds like you could be on your way soon :)

Ssmile, you sound like you're getting really settled into things - is having two much different from having one? I keep looking at DS and wondering how he's going to take it.

Had a bit of a strange night, I couldn't sleep properly and was waking up every few hours. I then decided that I had to sort out the baby's socks there and then and make up the bedding in the cot, it couldn't wait. DH woke up in the middle of the night to find me sitting in front of the wardrobe balling up socks and folding little cardigans. I demanded he build the pushchair but he drew the line at that with it being so late/early (and built it this afternoon instead). Hoping to sleep better tonight, walked round town for about 3-4 hours non-stop shopping and then went the half mile round trip walk to the local shops for ice cream for a treat for DS. My legs and hips are killing me!

Hope everyone has a good (and eventful!) night :)

jimmijam · 04/09/2011 19:32

misty with the cramps, same here :-/
1 day over, feeling a little cheerier after a sunny trip 2 park with kids, am sure i'll feel low again 2moro with dd back at school and just ds to entertain
consultant 2moro afternoon so hopfully will at least have a c-section date to look forward to if i do go 2 weeks over

Louplet · 04/09/2011 19:50

No action here yet. Still everything is ready for DS1's first day at school on Tuesday and PILs are now here so we are all ready when LO is. Well ready as we'll ever be for number 3! Smile

Enjoying reading everyone's posts. Fingers crossed for lots of news over the next few days.

WaspsAnkles · 04/09/2011 20:29

Hi all,
Sounds like some are not far off now and things are slowly starting to happen.

I have been having a bit of a low day today.been trying to keep busy this week in the hope that lots of action and social happenings might trick lo into getting a move on.unsuccessfully.am now getting quite fed up and bored :( and determined I'll go over due date on wed. Nothing more to report than bhs and some period type pains and back aches.

Also getting quite fed up with constant phone calls and text messages from family and friends to check whether anything is happening yet. So annoying!why do people not just accept they will be informed once the baby is here.

Sorry - rant officially over. Hopefully will feel more cheerful tomorrow.

A good night to all of you!

CBear6 · 04/09/2011 22:07

Rant away Wasps! My favourite is "have you not had that baby yet?" which is always accompanied by a good long look at my bump. Um, if I had then surely I'd be pushing a new baby around and wouldn't have such a large stomach ... ?

My second favourite? "Gosh, it seems like you've been pregnant forever ... "

Conkertree · 04/09/2011 22:09

Congratulations bumpy - and another thanks for sharing your story. Long second stage is not fun - had three hours with ds1, and similarly to Cbear6, mw was at my head telling me I'd get him out while doctors were playing with the ventouse, and did on one tiny tug from it. Hope you are getting some sleep.

Had my sisters boys today, so was an insight into having four children - think we will definitely stop at three! Was fun for one day but hard work.

feralgirl · 04/09/2011 22:15

Hey hey, Sebs and Misty; we've all got our EDDs tomorrow so I'll be thinking of you and checking the thread obsessively (unless I'm lucky enough to go into labour in which case I'll prob be a bit busy!)

Wasps, I know what you mean about the phone calls. I really want to call my best mate and have a chat but I know that she's going to immediately assume that I'm phoning coz I've had the baby and we'll end up talking about that for ages and all I really want to do is have a normal conversation with someone that's NOT baby related!

Cbear, I am tending to wake up at about 6am and lie in bed just thinking about Stuff That Needs Doing. I have to say I tend not to get up in the middle of the night to pair up socks but I am getting similarly obsessive about small things. I think it's a symptom of the waiting. Hope you have a better night tonight.

Hope everything's OK with the consultant Jimmi and that everyone's DCs have good first days back at school in the next few days. DS is due to start proper nursery - you know, the sort that's attached to the local school - next week. Can't believe he is nearly 3yo already!

Good night everyone, here's to a good night's sleep so we'll all be full of energy for nesting and labouring this week!

ssmile · 04/09/2011 22:25

Had to go back to feeding off shields again as babe was struggling to latch this afternoon. But we had had nice couple of hrs out this morning. Had bit of feeding fest tonight she fed every hour from 5-9.30pm then cried a bit had wind but fingers Xed settled now so I can get sleep in a mo.
*cbear its been far harder managing DD1 than doing anything to look after babe. DD1 been like overexcited puppy wants to 'help' out with everything its been rather demanding when sleep deprived. I have snapped at her couple times but DH been godsend taking her out everyday all afternoon so I can rest &get BF established with Lo. We also made a point of she has cuddle time with babe, she earns big sister stickers for being gd and I've done her bath &story time last 4nights so she had mummy 1:1 time. She also starts school on the 12th so that's also a new dynamic to handle!

Minkyjj · 04/09/2011 23:24

Well congrats to senile and bumpy - well done ladies. Senile well done on bf - it's hard going at first but worth it in the end.
I am 37 & 4 days and have just been back into the antenatal ward for the fourth time in eight weeks with regular contractions but they still won't do the csection earlier than 39 weeks. I am now on the stronger dose of codeine to help control the pain and at least it meant I got a few hours sleep last night. I feel like I have been in labour for forever but I know it's not labour really. The midwives were really amazed at how strong the contractions were on the monitor and how regular but they are not causing dilation. Looking on the bright side though I only have ten days to go now as csection booked for 14 sept (week on wed).
Really feel for all the ladies that are overdue - it's tough not knowing when its going to happen. Good luck to you all and I hope that as I write this some of you may be starting to deliver. Smile
I have had a busy day of nesting too and got all the last minute jobs done apart from a few that are not essential. Some of the jobs were ones only I could do like cleaning the aquarium - dh would have managed to kill all my fish Grin. All school clothes for ds1 and dd1 are bought and labelled, bags are all packed and shoes labelled and homework done so when they start back this week anyone could cope. Brownie and beavers stuff done too !
Sadly my mum took the kids to the beach and didn't pit enough cream on them so both got burnt - ds1 cried in pain all night tonight and I am quite cross but I know she feels bad enough so I can't say anything and she was really trying to help me out too. I am cross at myself too for not putting the pn20 on in the morning - them this need never have happened.
I am in so much pain now with SPd and my joint condition that I love reading all your walking antics but it makes me grimace as I can barely walk to the loo without crying !
Take care lovely ladies and hope you all stay well Wink x

Minkyjj · 04/09/2011 23:25

So sorry ssmile - I am writing the above on my phone and the predictive text changed you to senile Blush I am really sorry

ssmile · 05/09/2011 02:13

Heeehe minkyj the senile made me smile at 2am whilst feeding babe &distracting myself on mumsnet. Hope ur kids going back to school gives you a break this week and your not in too much pain sounds horrid at least there is a final end date in site now

Sewmuchtodo · 05/09/2011 06:23

Morning everyone,

Congratulations Bumpy and big :)'s to no shields and two boobs ssmile!

MrsS and Annie, I was induced with DS and look to be heading for the same with LO. It really wasn't as bad as the world at large would have you believe. I had pessery in for 1.5hrs when cramps began (although they are here already) then 5hrs of period like pains and baths. Waters broke in the early hrs and DS was here 2.5hrs later!

100yrs, so hoping no post last night is because the freezer drama and long walk have pushed you over the edge and into labour :)

Oh Cbear, you sound as 'organised' and crazy as me......LO things have been re-hung several times!

Minkyjj, that sounds terrible, but atleast you have a section date booked.....and can hopefully relax and give your joints and rest. All this walking to bring on labour is over-rated, trust me, I have tried!

Well im about to hop in the bath (although not as graceful, more small whale flopping) before I check in for day assesment (and hopefully sweep) and then app with consultant so decide on induction. BP was back up to 135/88 yest but mw announced it has to be 89 on bottom to class as a problem Hmm. Considering it has been up at 140/95 then down to 120/79 and a steady climb from there I have had enough. Head sore, feet, hands and face puffy....it's quite the look!

Good luck to all today, will check in again asap. x

sebs71 · 05/09/2011 08:31

wasps I agree... Getting so many texts asking where is she? As if I wouldn't tell anyone. But at least they're thinking of us. I have a standard reply about the waiting game, think my phone could go into auto pilot and reply itself!!
jimmi good luck today - hope you get some good news from consultant.
minky so sorry you're in so much pain. Does not sound fun. If nothing happens I should be going in for induction about the same tome as you're c section.
sewtoomuch good luck with assessment. Hope you get a concrete decision from them.
100years and Annie hope you both ok?
feral and misty YAY!! We're here - due date arrived. Mind you, only 5% chance we'll go today!! Can't say I'm confident it'll be today or any time soon :( still friend coming up here this morning and she promised she'd bring cake Grin

Well managed to last the 40 weeks without a sniff and have woke up today with headache and that knowing feeling of a cold on its way :( but reading minky's story I won't be complaining.

Fingers crossed for more news and more of us joining the next thread!!

Conkertree · 05/09/2011 08:59

Morning everyone. Happy due date to Feral, misty and sebs. Hope some of you see some action soon.

I have gone into contented cow mode, chewing the cud in the field etc. Done all the kilts that have to be out for the next couple of weeks, and most of the hire stuff is organised, so am going to start maternity leave today. Might take myself out for a cake if pil come down to play with the dc.

Still need to do some washing of ababy things etc, but its all less urgent than it was last week in terms of having time for things, so feel quite relaxed.

As we definitely plan to stop at three children, I realised last night that these are probably the last weeks of me being pregnant ever, so am determined to just relax and try and enjoy them (although hip pian overnight doesnt make the sleeping much fun) but as someone said, when you read What minkyjj is putting up with, cant complain.

Hope to see some more baby stories from others very soon though - Especially (think its) jimmijam, so your dh can be around.

100years · 05/09/2011 09:00

Morning ladies.

Still on the bus. Few niggly pains and now for tmi Grin felt like I needed a poo. Which I actually did!! Or at least I had a poo after that pain! But could have been coincidence so might discount that. And there is more tmi, is the mucous plug always coloured? Coz I've had a big lot of stuff that was 'slimy' but almost no colour to it. Feel a teeny bit nauseous too. But it's probably all nothing and I'll be posting something similar tomorrow morning Grin

I am going to try see if mw will come visit and do another sweep, can only say yes or no, let's hope she's not too busy.

Thinking of everyone today, hope you are all ok and things go well.

Sewmuch hope they get it sorted soon for you.

OP posts:
Misty9 · 05/09/2011 09:06

Morning all

Yey, sebs and feral - due date! My DH is convinced he'll come today, but can't say I'll be holding my breath. I have also woken up with a bit of a sniffle and a cough - but I've also heard that feeling cold-y can be a precursor to labour? We can but hope Grin

wasps I'm also getting the text messages now and, whilst I don't so much mind knowing that people are thinking of us, I do object to some of the bluntness of them! One said "is that baby out yet?", no 'hello' or 'how are you' or even a 'x' !!

minky that sounds horrible :( hope the painkillers are having more of an effect now.

sewmuch hope you get a decision today - it must be so frustrating getting different opinions from people.

Everyone else, hope you're all hanging on in there :) Not long for any of us now in the grand scheme of things.
As for how I'm going to occupy myself today, I quite like the idea of wandering around town scaring random people who ask me 'ooh, when's it due?' by replying 'today' !! Grin I think 100years you did this didn't you?!

Have a good day all x

100years · 05/09/2011 09:32

Yeah it was me with the due today things in town! :) enjoy it if you get someone

I've had sore throat for few days and a bit snotty, let's add that to the oooh it's possibly happening pile then :)

Decided after a busy few days, loads of walking and doing stuff isn't working, so will stay in bed as much as I can and rest. Maybe my body needs rest and once I do then pop Wink

OP posts:
tiddleypompom · 05/09/2011 09:35

Good morning! Can I call us a herd now then?! (ref: conker) I quite like the idea of being a contented cow :o

I am sorry to hear of the aches and pains of SPD and early labour though, what a shame these final days are so difficult, when really we deserve to be able to relax and enjoy before it all kicks off! Surely we have to have the next baby arrival this week...

I had the nicest day yesterday with DH, touring around little villages in the cotswolds stopping for (manageable) strolls, fabulous lunch, drink at a lovely arboretum etc. The sun came out and all was well with the world!

I have a 'busy' week - dentist, NCT meet, carpet fitter, over to parents, plus got to pop into the office. I also have an appt at an 'opinion clinic' with the consultant midwife to discuss whether my placenta issue really means I can't stay under midwife led care - I am so keen to labour in water. We shall see. Also have a list of jobs from DH (!) inc. swap electricity provider, yawn.

Good luck with sweeps, appts with midwives and consultants etc. sebs I hear flu-like symptoms can be early stage labour?! Hope not just a cold.

Better start getting on with things - till next time
