Now I know the threads we were in weren't finished, but there were 3 threads for the September due dates, and I thought it would be nice to get everyone together and share their experiences.

Stats thread is here If you aren't on there, then get adding yourself.

Hopefully we can all get through the last stint together :)

I'm due 1st Sept, so one month to go, if the LO is punctual.

let us know ur birth experiences wen ur back :-)

CBear6 · 01/09/2011 20:41

Fingers crossed this is it for you MrsSawyer and that you have a speedy labour followed by a safe delivery, another baby off the bus by morning I think! :)

Enjoy your bath Tiddley, I've just had one myself and it was lovely. I've been having lots of downwards pressure, kind of like needing to go for a poo or trapped wind and it's from her head pushing down. Lots of tightening too. I've got in my head that we're doing something this Sunday and keep asking DH because there's nothing in the calendar but can't shake the feeling. He says it's because my buy one get one free Dominos voucher expires on that day Hmm

100years · 01/09/2011 21:18

Ooh it looks like MrsS is on her way:) fingers crossed.

Sewmuch I hope your doing ok there.

Sorry on phone so not catching up with everything.

Had my hair done :) was only asked by one person when I was due, the boy who cut my hair!!! Maybe heavily pregnant women scare people. Was shattered when I got back so slept got nearly 2 hours!!!

Just mopped the floor. That'll be the extent of my nesting then :)

Slight niggles but other than that nada else. Thought I might be having a show earlier but it was the smallest amount and nowt since.

Mrs s - good luck, sending good labour vibes...

Night all- hope everyone has good sleep :)

Conkertree · 01/09/2011 22:17

Exciting stuff mrs s.

Dont get too down 100 years - due date is nearly over, so it cant be more than about 12 day to go, and probably far fewer. Hopefully things will kick off properly very soon.

100years · 02/09/2011 06:03

Jimmi, in a way I'm half expecting my waters to break, I remember getting a phone call from my sister's DH(at the time - now exH) saying her waters broke at 4am while she was in bed, so I'm thinking if it can happen to her it can happen to me, but know it's unlikely given the statistics. I'd just like to see the look on people's faces when they are faced with a pregnant woman and fluid leaking out of her! I'm bad really, I shouldn't think like this, but I don't embarrass easily in that regard and so seeing people around me panic as to what to do while I'm there thinking 'Yay it's definitely starting' would be interesting. However if it happened in reality, well who knows how I would be.

sebs. Thanks, I think the driving thing is because you are told don't drive to the hosp when in labour and because I'm slowly reaching that point I just don't want to risk something happening, but it's lucky for me as there are buses around and LOADS of taxi firms - benefit of living less than 3 miles from the city centre. Much as for the majority of the time I'd love to live further out, more countryside, there are times when it's a bonus.

Sewmuch. How are you?

Feral. I had the wow you've grown and yeah I reckon she's at least 8lbs from the midwife, but still measuring bang on! We shall see soon enough.

CBear - I think we are all at the misunderstandings, I thought OH had gone to bed the other night without telling me, I went through almost in tears and he wasn't even in there, he was in the loo, having gaffed around doing a few bits and bobs.

Conker - if your sis is having the boys for you to have a decent night's sleep and a meal you know what that means don't you Wink I'm not down about being over, in fact I'm surprisingly upbeat about the whole thing, yes I want her to come now, but I can't make that happen any quicker than it's going to, so I've kind of accepted it. But you are right, in 11 days time (now) I will be induced if I've got that far.

More luck for MrsS here. :)

TP how you doing? Hope the bath helped.

Only fell asleep at midnight and have had a fitful 'nights' sleep waking at 5am and Mr100 then started to snore which woke me more and then I realised that I'm hungry, so tried to ignore it a bit and couldn't so got up about 1/4 hr ago for cereal. Been eating quite a lot the past few days, much more hungry, I reckon I'm getting loads of food in me for stores so I'm fully fed when I need to be Grin

Had some more niggly pains through the night, some come and go quite quickly, some last a bit longer than others, going for a few minutes in kind of waves. I'm hoping it's all getting going now, some of them are 'stronger' than I had been feeling. Who knows.

We have plans this weekend :) So maybe that'll do it :) Poss got a friend popping over tonight - if not she'll come round on Sunday, the lunch tomorrow with some of OH's friends, then a 'do' at someone's house tomorrow night. We shall see.

Good luck to everyone today, lets see some more babies on the way.

100years- you do sound like you are in very early stages (although I'm a first timer so not reliable) and statistically you've just passed the day you are almost most unlikely to give birth with only a 5% chance it happening! Fingers crossed for the weekend :)

Mrs s - sorry was only short post last night - was v tired. Hoping everything going well - must have been scary seeing lots blood. Hoping for lovely news today!!

Tried the mw borrowed TENS mc last night to see how it works. After 5 mins LO started what I presume was an aerobics routine!! Really woke her up!

Keep feeling I've got a while to go yet - due Monday and apart from lots of BHs - no signs yet. So trying not to think about being close - difficult with every text asking 'any news' !! Trying to keep spirits up but finding the days long and quiet... But this thread is helpful with everyone's news! Think I'll aim for some baking or something this afternoon (after online shop delivery) that always cheers me up!!

Hope y'all slept well ... Let's have news of more babies today!!

sebs71 · 02/09/2011 07:32

100years- yes country life can be lovely but times like this being close to civilisation much better!!

MrsSawyer · 02/09/2011 08:29

Im still here! pains and blood loss halted overnight, and ive never slept better, so actually feel really good today, if a little dispondent. Lost more of my "plug" though this morning and then uncomfortable feeling is returning and it 8.30am and ive poohed twice, so while things are happening, its gonna be a slow one! Lets hope LO decides that todays the day!

Bouncing on my ball as I type, im beginning to feel a lot like Tigger :)

Annie456 · 02/09/2011 08:54

Morning all...I'm still here at T+5 and feeling hugely down and deflated after a failed sweep yesterday and midwife saying it's not imminent. Sad went for a long walk and ended up having a late night which gave me a horrible headache which I still can't shift. Sorry to be such a downer..I've got exactly 1 week until my induction date and my birthday in the middle (which I cant make plans for). I kind of feel like my midwife might as well have said "yeah it's not going to happen on it's own but we'll induce you in a week"...now I have a whole week of desperately trying to bring it on when I kind of feel like none of those things will work anyway...I'll have DH at home over the weekend which kind of makes me feel worse as I know we were both hoping to have our baby by now. Will have to think of something to lift me out of this mood.Sad x

sebs71 · 02/09/2011 09:20

Oh Annie sending cyber hugs. Remember midwife can't predict and may well all kick off naturally. Sending good labour vibes Confused

And mrs s hoping things hot up today then - have somemore labour vibes Confused

Misty9 · 02/09/2011 09:48

Morning all

Oh, annie - sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish. I'd plan something fabulous for your birthday anyway - then likely it'd start that day and if not, you've got something to look forward to?
sebs I'm due monday too and also trying not to think about it too much....
100years and mrsS - who'll win the race for the next Sept baby?! Grin
sewmuch hope you're feeling better? At least you'll know more on monday I suppose?

re: being emotional with DH - we were food shopping last wkd and he wandered off to get something, then when I couldn't find him I was getting more and more stressed and upset and was almost in tears when we did finally reunite! He got an earful but puts up with it well luckily Grin. Need to do another big shop tomorrow, just in case poppyseed puts an appearance in over the weekend...

Had excruciating trapped wind pains last night and was woken up periodically with the pain - but bit better this morning and no other signs, apart from perhaps losing a bit more plug? Not very jelly like though...

Right, I had a deal with poppyseed that if I didn't go into labour last night then I would do my dissertation corrections today...so I'd better keep my end of the deal up I suppose :(
Have a good day all - September is shaping up to be quite nice weather-wise :)

jimmijam · 02/09/2011 10:10

Ah mrs s fingers crossed things hot up 4 u 2day!!!
Annie, with our 1st she was 8days over, was in hospital 5cm dilated wen a mw askefd me if she could give my induction appt to someone else- by then i certainly wasnt planning on using it!!! So please dont lose heart, 4 some ppl things can happen really quickly. I had several sweeps with her, curry, pineapple etc etc none of it worked she just came along in her own time. Perhaps u should make plans to do something on ur bday, just ones that can b changed or canceled if needs be. Will either b sods law u'l b in labour or u may find u really enjoy the distraction :-)
Lots of aches and pains here but thats it. Due date 2moro, reflexology 2nite :-)

Sewmuchtodo · 02/09/2011 10:36

Oh Annie, I have deduced that my MW knows very little......hopefully yours does too and the sweep is currently starting to work.

Cbear, it's good to know there are other overly emotional mums to be out there too. My poor DH is now back at work (lecturer so long summer off) and still trying to please my every whim aswell......trouble is I dont know what I want :( I took an almighty huff the other night because her ran me a bath and got in it too. Turns out the poor sod was only offering to wash my hair!

100yrs, I, like you have never had my waters go on my own (broken for DS, dry birth with DD) and have figured now that I have bought and put on lovely new bedding this will be the time!

MrsS..... KEEP BOUNCING! :)

I got a bit of sleep last night, but have a constant sore back and upper tummy. Feel very pre-birth but according to mw on wed cervix was closed :(

The sun is shining here today, may take the kids for a waddle!

CBear6 · 02/09/2011 11:06

My waters didn't break either but our current mattress/bed is only three months old so they're practically guaranteed to go in a big gush in the middle of the night. I've got one of those pad things under the sheet but it's vile, like sleeping on sweaty plastic.

Annie, I agree with everyone else - plan something lovely (but easily changeable) for your birthday. I know induction isn't anyone's ideal but I know loads of people who didn't even make it to their scheduled induction, including one who went into spontaneous labour as they were booking her in the night before, and other people who went to the induction but just needed the gentlest of nudges to start them off. My mam was induced with all three of my brothers and each time just one lot of that gel they use was enough to get things going. Fingers crossed baby arrives soon :)

MrsS, really sounds like you're on your way. Don't stop bouncing!

SewMuch, enjoy your walk, it's a lovely day for it. Feeling very period-type crampy here but it's virtually constant rather than a contracting sensation. Either way, it's the home stretch now.

DS had another night of waking up and crying but not as bad as the night before. I went in and was told "no, daddy!" so DH went in and made a big show of looking under the bed and out of the window. He had the odd little whimper here and there for about an hour afterwards but not enough for us to warrant going back in there. Bloody hell that makes me sound cold! You know when they've had a huge cry and then as they're going over to sleep they seem to remember they were crying so they'll sort of whimper for a few seconds then stop? That. He made up for it by sleeping until 10am though so I got a lie-in at least.

I've still got it in my head that baby is coming on Sunday. With DS I said for weeks that he was coming on his due date and everyone told me it was rubbish and first babies never do but I was right. Almost certain this one is coming Sunday. Ask me this time Monday morning though and I'll more than likely be amending that theory!

feralgirl · 02/09/2011 14:17

Good to read everyone's posts and yay for MrsS; here's hoping for a happy landing very soon!

Sorry that things are a bit grim Annie; why not start the b'day celebrations early to make sure you don't miss out? And then have extra celebrations on the actual day if the baby hasn't arrived by then?

Nothing interesting happening here; crap night's sleep and feeling all hormonal and weepy but other than that it's same old, same old really.

tiddleypompom · 02/09/2011 14:19

After an energetic (read: pruning, walk to Waitrose and back) morning, I have returned for lunch and a sit down. Inspired by MrsS I am on my ball but in the garden as the sun is out and I want to make the most of the weather before the cold sets in. Lovely to catch up with progress - and it all sounds very promising indeed!

I am 37 weeks today, so at that 'anytime now' stage, but realistically not expecting anything till 40+ - certainly I have nothing to report to date. Meantime I am pleased to read that the baby may be putting on around 0.5oz each day - good for me as predictions are in the smaller camp.

jimmi you asked (I think?) whether anyone thought they'd still be here in Oct - I might have to pencil myself in! Have already lurked on the Oct bus thread!

cbear I used to get nightmares when I was little. Still do, if truth be told! I actually asked to be christened at 11 years old as I thought this might help Shock but that's what comes of spending time with catholic grandparents!

Anyway, best of luck to you all for spontaneous labours, starting soon! Oh, and a prize for the most entertaining waters popping story :o

tiddleypompom · 02/09/2011 14:22

p.s. I do hope I haven't offended anyone with catholic grandparent comment - I think that I was just a very sensitive child and some of the catholic services we went to were of the hell and damnation sort of style - I thought I would be straight off to purgatory as my parents had decided not to have me baptised...

100years · 02/09/2011 15:53

MrsS my friend had a full night's sleep the night before she had her LO so don't discount the good night's sleep. Body getting itself prepared and all that.

Sorry you are a bit down Annie. :(

YAY TP 37 weeks :) Woohoo :) what will be the waters popping prize, a load of water balloons to relive the moment at a future party Wink

Been for a walk, had a look from the bloke in the fridge shop as he knew I was due yesterday when I introduced myself :) Whoop, I freaked someone out. But I had to go for a walk, can't stay sat down ALL day.

Few niggles, but nothing else. Have put a contraction timer thing on my iPhone so when I think it's all starting proper I can time things and see if I am right.

OP posts:
sebs71 · 02/09/2011 16:07

TP - well done on energetic day... hope you enjoyed your bounce in the sun!! And, like the idea for a "most entertaining water popping story"!

100years - well done on freaking someone out! Managed to freak my friend out earlier... she text asking "any sign of that baby yet?" ... so I phoned her and said "did you not get the text from Cath about me having her 2 days ago?" ... Oooh, what mischief!

Just baked some oat and raisin cookies - although they seem to be turning into one big cookie each baking tray Hmm Smell nice though... only a few minutes and I can get them out of the oven.. yum...

Hope everyone having a good day :)

100years · 02/09/2011 16:23

sebs, that's brilliant :) I'd love to try that. Maybe in a few days time! I made a load of biscuits the one day, doubled up the mixture because I thought one mix is never enough yadda yadda, only put them on one try, one massive biscuit with little grooves where they joined. so was a case of breaking them off! Now I use 2 trays for them. Mmmm biscuits. Gonna make some tomorrow if LO isn't here :)

OP posts:
Annie456 · 02/09/2011 16:55

Thanks for the cheer and good vibes ladies-I was so fed up that I called the hospital and begged the midwife to try another sweep-different midwife, different fingers. I got there and told her to do whatever was necessary to reach my cervix and she did!! TMi warning...there was quite a good 'show ' there and then and she said it was the best sweep she'd ever done because I was so relaxed and willing Blush! She said her hands are smaller than the other midwife so he can't have been trying very hard! I honestly felt no pain at all which surprised her - maybe bodes well for labour!

Anyway, I'm feeling so much better now and off home for a hot hot curry!
Xx
Ps if this baby doesn't come soon I think we'll have to sign our house over to our local indian takeaway!!

CBear6 · 02/09/2011 17:14

That's brilliant Annie, sounds really promising! Hopefully you'll be joining ssmile and bumpy on the other board by Monday then :)

I thought something was happening earlier on, tightening pains every five minutes lasting a good 40-50 seconds and enough to make me stop in my tracks. Was all set to start timing them properly so I could decide whether to ring DH and they bloody went and stopped! Angry. I vaguely remember having something similar with DS and the MW saying that BHs can become regular towards the end and can seem like the real thing.

I'm getting on the ball tonight and then having a nice bath. I've got plans now for Sunday so maybe my feeling that Sunday will be the day will happen now.

ssmile · 02/09/2011 18:04

annie sending you big hugs and hope the sweep works. I remember that feeling of disappointment and waiting vwell. I had 3sweeps over 10d with DD1 and got more and more down after each one as my dream of a yoga water birth at birthing centre slipped away. I didn't do what you did Annie's and push for a better one. Well done!
I ended up 2.5days of induction before finally being offered c-sec when I was 15d over. The lesson my DH and I learnt from the experience is we should have been forceful in my needs rather than I was "held" in queue as lab ward was so busy they didn't mind it wasn't working. With this birth I've been more active from day one. And although a planned C-sec I had real doubts about my birth experience has been 100% better this time around. Gd luck to all I am cheering u on.

Sewmuchtodo · 02/09/2011 18:14

Thats fab news Annie, im hoping to convince the mw to try again here tomorrow......last one didn't want to hurt me or push up bp......im willing to try anything! Enjoy your curry. x
