Now I know the threads we were in weren't finished, but there were 3 threads for the September due dates, and I thought it would be nice to get everyone together and share their experiences.

Stats thread is here If you aren't on there, then get adding yourself.

Hopefully we can all get through the last stint together :)

I'm due 1st Sept, so one month to go, if the LO is punctual.

Evening everyone......loving the comical 'how to bring on labour' ideas!

We have had quite the day here, midwife at 9am, BP 142/98 and protein in urine......straight to assessment ward, do not pass go and do not collect anything other than your suitcase!
After 3hrs of bp checks, urine dips and baby monitoring all is well, bp 130/79, no protein and LO happy as anything I was sent on my merry way with instructions that MW will call in tomorrow and monitor bp and urine from home. So here I am, cases back in the hall and a thumping sore head......hurry up LO!!!

Louplet · 31/08/2011 19:57

Congratulations bumpy!

Getting really tired now and had to give up plans for boat trip with DS1 today in favour of cake with him at local cafe instead. Think I really need to give in and just rest now. Thankfully DH is being a star with DS1 and DS2 so I am getting some rest and PILs will be here from weekend so I will be officially up for a couple of days pure R+R (assuming LO hangs on until EDD 6 Sept!).

Have even booked hairdresser for Friday Smile

Exciting to hear everyone's news. MW tomorrow for me too. Hopefully last one before the big day!

jimmijam · 31/08/2011 20:07

Haha yup. I know curry wont work, not sure wot effect the other things will have, but its keeping me occupied!
Good on any sensible ppl on here who arent wadting their time (like i am) on the old wives tales type tips 2 bring on labour!

feralgirl · 31/08/2011 20:14

Ah now, louplet, making plans for later in the week is bound to ensure that it all kicks off imminently. Maybe I'll book myself solid hair/ pedicure/ reflexology/ lunch dates for the next week and, sod's law being what it is, that'll def bring it all on.

Glad to hear that all is well sewmuch, hope your headache improves. And have a lovely early night Cbear, I'm sure you'll feel calmer in the morning.

Unfortunately DH has now got my cold so DTD to bring it on may have to wait a day or two as I reckon it'd probably all just result in less than attractive coughing fits but I'm going out in hunt of the clary sage oil and raspberry leaf tea tomorrow though.

Good luck Annie and 100years, not long now!

Annie456 · 31/08/2011 20:33

Neals yard do loose leaf tea and it's cheap as chips-£2 gets you a huge bag or illegal looking dried tea leaves Blush

It's not too bad if you're already a green tea drinker but I make 2 super strength cups per day as I can't handle the thought of 4 cups!! Makes your contractions more efficient apparently also good for getting your uterus to go back after the birth if you drink it for a few days after labour.Hmm

100years · 31/08/2011 21:09

Oh sewmuch hope you feel better tomorrow and you bp drops some more. Scary time, I had a day like that at 34 weeks wasn't nice :(

Nada more happening. Still feels weird 'in there' just hope it's all getting more dilated.

OH reckons maybe I'm having some bh and some 'contractions' we'll find out soon won't we!!!!

OP posts:
loomer · 31/08/2011 23:24

Hello all, just lost a big long post - gaaah! Anyhow, am waving around generally as I've been enjoying reading everyone's posts avidly on my ipod but not had a chance to type up a proper post on the laptop for ages.

Firstly Bumpy, congratulations, what lovely news, hope that Peter is doing well. I hope that you will share your birth story on here (or other PN thread) if you feel able - love to read about these things.

Secondly, really pleased to see that there are some other potentials in the pipeline, let's keep the production line active! Personally I don't want our little one to make an appearance for another couple of weeks as we are still recovering from the house move - I don't yet have a cot set up, haven't unpacked the baby clothes, only just got a sink plumbed into the kitchen (was washing up in the bath until a couple of days ago) and 80% of our belongings are still in boxes. So feeling really pretty unprepared at the moment!

Might get some RL tea though in anticipation of hitting 38 weeks on Friday - there's no harm in maximising the efficiency of my contractions eh?!

Sorry not to mention you all personally, there seems to be so much going on... speaking of which, sewmuch I hope that your BP calms down even more, and that you don't have to go back in for more monitoring (so tedious), will you get a chance to relax/meditate at home?

Right, should probably go to bed now - might sleep on sofa though as DH has terrible cough and soaked the sheets last night with sweat - delightful! Poor bugger is completely and utterly drained from all the building works, there's absolutely no chance of him DTD with anyone at the moment, least of all his deeply attractive lumpy wife.

hazelnutlatte · 01/09/2011 01:02

Hello everyone, it's officially September! Feels strange to think that we will be having babies this month! (hopefully anyway although I'm not due till the 23rd so could be October for me)
Congratulations to ssmile and bumpy, looking forward to hearing about more babies being born soon.
Looks like I'm the only insomniac up at this time of night, mumsnet has been great company lately as I am really struggling to sleep.
Had a repeat growth scan today as I have had low amniotic fluid and was measuring small - all is now normal which is great news. Just need to not go into labour for the next 24 hours as then I'll be 37 weeks and full term.
It's exciting to hear about everyone having early signs of labour, although it's making me think that every twinge I am experiencing must mean something! Must stop obsessing or it will be a long 3 (or maybe even 5) weeks ahead!

Sewmuchtodo · 01/09/2011 01:22

Hi Hazelnutlatte, good news about your scan, that must be a relief!

Im now wide awake, upset tummy and really sick.....but no pains :(

100years · 01/09/2011 07:40

Nothing more than a few more mild period type things through the night. Certainly nothing getting worse or regular. OH is working from home today so I can go out if I want to. Might get bus into town and see if I can find somewhere to pamper me. Maybe the bus ride will get me going :) plus I'd love to freak people out with the reply to 'when are you due' with the answer 'today' I'll keep freaking people out till LO comes, I've got to have some fun :) [evil emoticon]

Yay its September - baby month (hopefully). With you on the obsessing hazelnutlatte. I was determined not to, but am in the full throws of obsession now so might as well go with it.

Also can sympathise loomer - we moved on 29th July and I was determined to have as much unacked as possible, but still havent come across some vital things like baby clothes. Keep thinking, if I can get one more kilt made, I can then concentrate on the house, but then orders keep coming in, and I dont like to turn them away as its take two years to build the business up.

Ds1 was up loads again last night and dh seemed immune so another rubbish nights sleep but am running on adrenaline for the moment. Couple of hours till dh goes to worm, so can do some kilts. So what am I doing on here?.????? See you all later.

tiddleypompom · 01/09/2011 08:53

Yipppeeeee! September and it's sunny in Brum!

Isn't this the most beautiful time of year? Just how much are you looking forward to walks with your PFB in your pushchair/sling? And the cute warm outfits, hmm?

Am giddy with excitement today :o

ssmile · 01/09/2011 09:12

Morning its lovely sunny day ere too and its September ooooh we had gd night I got 6hrs broken sleep the most ive had in last 6days felt almost human this morn :o made DH a cuppa tea in bed &got other DD ready for preschool. Now resting back in bed again. We made the night with no formula supplement Yeh! Only BF off shields so feeling much more confident in keeping BF going now. Baby lovely likes sleeping in her basket (whispers at the moment) so DH &i hugely more relaxed 2nd time parents.

Cheering you all on through your pains hoping some more little ones make appearances soon.

Jojo1983 · 01/09/2011 09:43

Morning ladies no news here (sigh) today I am officially 37 weeks wooohooo was up every two hours last night but could of been due to excitement as my friend gave birth to her little boy at 3.20am cant wait to meet him and cant wait for it to be my turn!
Waiting to hear more news of babies arriving its all so exciting!

jimmijam · 01/09/2011 09:54

Woohoo after a cpuple of days we finally dtd, but other than the ever increading aches and pains, nothing. Looks loke this LO just isnt ready.
Perhaps i should do some online grocery shopping, c if s/he makes an appearance as our delivery arrives!
Kicking fh out of bed didnt work, i was slightly awake so got up, he's still thete!!
Moses basket stand should should arrive today, altjough e-mail last night said a it would b here by 31st. Mmm. Ok.
Ds only got up twice last night and dd didnt get up til 9am :-) still dont feel awake tho :-(
Without looking at stats r there many ppl on here who could still have october babies?

100years · 01/09/2011 10:31

Ahem, morning DTD lets hope that the extra prostagladins(coz I'll have had some with the sweep) help the cervix along!!! Although I'm pretty sure my OH won't be all that chuffed with me mentioning our sex life!!! Do I need to spend the day twiddle with my nipples now for extra hormones?

Have booked to have my hair cut at 1pm, so I'll have something nice done, and hopefully a nice easy to manage hair cut for when LO makes her appearance tonight at just before midnight [hopeful timing emoticon] LOL

I'm not risking driving anywhere now, so it's a bus for me, I think I'm at the OMG what if I was driving and all of a sudden I got a pain or my waters broke kind of stage now. Whereas I'll happily have my waters break on a bus or in the middle of the street, I'll just put on an exciting face :)

OP posts:
jimmijam · 01/09/2011 10:44

Tho im not expecting waters to break by themselves, do feel embarassed at the thought of them going in public, would have 2 walk home looking like i'd wet myself :-/
another trip to the park today in the sunshine. May fall asleep ther e tho. Any good pieces of

sebs71 · 01/09/2011 11:28

There must have been something about it being end of august last night and going for early sept labour... DTD too (tho with you 100years think DP wouldn't go for that being broadcast!) but nothing to report... Did get a few mild pains in the night but think they were muscle aches!!

Think I've got the sept bug too - sunny day, got excited when turning the calendar over ... I love autumn too and yes, looking forward to walks with LO!!

Well 100years sounds like you're doing everything to bring it on... Esp booking haircut!! Loving the fact you can freak everyone out with your due today quip!! Can't wait to try that Monday though not getting out much - worried about driving now too and no buses from here.

Sewtoomuch hope you feel better and BP ok.

Sorry on phone so can't respond to everyone ... Will be on laptop later though!

Happy 1st sept everyone ...

Sewmuchtodo · 01/09/2011 12:24

Im loving that we are all getting so excited now!

MW has been, BP was 135/85 and +1 protein again. She will be back to check on Sat and if nothing before I am now booked in for Monday 10am to see if favourable for induction as BP is beginning to play up and have a constant sore head.

Hoping all you ladies who have had sweeps/and/or/sex have exciting news asap. Having just ordered a nice cardi for pram walking I am getting excited......I love Autumn!!! x

feralgirl · 01/09/2011 13:15

Aw, sewmuch, sorry about your BP and headache but fingers Xed for Monday.

I saw the MW today as well: BP fine, pee fine, baby down but not engaged, but - OMG - I have gone from measuring bang on two weeks ago to now measuring 42 cms so had a slightly Shock moment when the MW said that it's gonna be a whopper!

She's booked me in for a week's time and will do a sweep then but she said that she was nigh on convinced that I wouldn't need it as she's predicting the weekend So I have been and bought RLT, a pineapple and clary sage oil (which smells lovely BTW) as I definitely do not want this baby to grow any more! I don't care how ill DH is today, I am going to force him to DTD tonight whether he wants to or not!

DS has decided that the baby is called Limpet. Since it seems to be sticking around, I think that it may now have this as a nickname for the foreseeable future!

Have fun tonight everyone, I get the feeling there's going to be a lot of DTDing going on! Wink

sebs71 · 01/09/2011 14:05

The thought of all these DPs/DHs dreading the night times when their rather huge girlfriends/wives are ready to pounce on them is really making me chuckle!! Grin Still, like someone said, they got us into all this, they can help get us out of it!!

Sewtoomuch - sorry to hear your headache is still there... take it as easy as you can, and fingers crossed for Monday.

Loomer - hope you managed to get sorted soon!

Ssmile - sounds lovely... being relaxed 2nd time parents! Can't wait to join you on the next thread now!

Feral - let's hope LO was having a bit of stretch when MW measured you!! Great name for now though! Let's hope Limpet decides to de-attach this weekend then!!!

My Dad's just been up for lunch (to break monotomy of the day!) - and brought fresh strawberry tarts for pudding Grin Yum!!

CBear6 · 01/09/2011 17:59

Still no DTD here, poor DH has been knackered keeping up with my nesting demands never mind anything else an he crashed out asleep as soon as we got to bed last night. I was still feeling really weird though and didn't realise he was asleep so when I tried to hug him and he just lay there not even hugging back I got really upset and had a big old cry. He woke up completely confused, was told "you know what you've done!", and it took u a few minutes to get on the same page. Then DS had some kind of nightmare, woke up for two hours sobbing, and kept howling as soon as we left his room. My youngest brother (10yo) was scaring him with a toy snake yesterday, which I put a stop to but too late I think because he kept pointing at the window and telling me "snake".

I've done my huge food shop today and that was the last thing on my to do list, hopefully now I can relax things will happen.

Hope everyone is having a good day, September is finally here!

Conkertree · 01/09/2011 19:53

Ooh I wish people would stop posting about yummy things like strawberry tarts, when I have no way of getting to the shops. Am soo hungry just now.

Also had a burst of energy cleaning, unpacking boxes etc etc today, so am hoping its a nesting impulse kicking in. Although cbear6 sounds like you have a good idea getting your dh to do the nesting for you.

My sister is taking our boys tomorrow night so we can go out for a meal and have a full nights sleep before the baby comes. Can't wait. Would be better with a couple of glasses of wine mind you, but I'm sure I can have one. Just to decide where to go now...

MrsSawyer · 01/09/2011 20:22

MW came and did the sweep this monring at 9.30am, she said cervix was soft and long (like andrex lol) and very favourable and i was 2cm dilated already! Nothing had happened by 12.30pm until i went to the loo and there was loads of blood, fresh red blood, just like a period, so i rung her straight away and she told me put a pad on and monitor it for 2 hours, if the pad was soaked through, go straight to labour ward to be monitored, if not then it wasnt a problem, anyway it has only been there when ive wiped myself and has got slowly lighter throught the day and is now a bit more like the end of a period, a bit more gloopy.

Ive also had a dull kind of period pain since 2ish and have in the last half an hour had a period like feeling "down there", a kind of ache, and have also been to the loo for a number 2 Blush about 8 times today and feel kind of sick, so everything looking good!

I dont have the internet on my phone (im a luddite lol) so if im still around tomorrow morning, ill come back on, if not, ill be back with DS2, please god everything goes well.

Send me good (and quick) labour vibes!

tiddleypompom · 01/09/2011 20:28

cbear your story of bedtime misunderstandings rang bells with me - I woke up upset and cross with my poor DH a few weeks back after having a very vivid dream that he'd been unfaithful! I knew it was a dream yet it took me a while to forgive him Blush !
About to run a bath - I am getting a pounding and baby has moved down again to put pressure on my pelvis; a bath seems to do the trick..
conker enjoy your meal with DH, how lovely for you both.
sew hoping your BP stays down.
Sweet dreams all...
