Now I know the threads we were in weren't finished, but there were 3 threads for the September due dates, and I thought it would be nice to get everyone together and share their experiences.

Stats thread is here If you aren't on there, then get adding yourself.

Hopefully we can all get through the last stint together :)

I'm due 1st Sept, so one month to go, if the LO is punctual.

[Biscuit] + lots Brew today. Eaten half large packet bourbons in last 2days Blush.
My DH is being a star as I type turning a cereal box into a monster catcher with our DD (4yrs old) even painting it red &foil. She was up every hr from 1am with bad dreams he also bought her a pink torch today so we both praying she sleeps better tonight as he needs his strength to help me &look after DD1.
Exciting waiting with all these BH & shows expect there be news soon x

tiddleypompom · 30/08/2011 19:18

Can we have a picture of the monster catcher please?!

Back from scan appt - 3 hours later and we are both a bit exhausted and deflated. Baby is fine, and placenta has moved away another 1cm, but had internal exam, which hurt a bit, and then we were told (by jnr Dr) that I can't labour in water as have to have constant fetal monitoring, and that baby is growing more slowly than it should be :( We then spoke to another consultant and very lovely specialist midwife, and they put our minds at a bit more ease by explaining monitoring doesn't have to mean being strapped to a bed etc. I may also be allowed in the pool in the delivery suite, though consultant said that he had never seen it with water in it Hmm Anyway, all in all a long and slightly disappointing day - except that it is always lovely to see heart beating away - oh, and baby is head down and facing back.

Sorry for long post. I wonder sometimes if all this information we get isn't just too much! Sitting down with feet up, waiting for cottage pie (hooray for DH!) and planning a bath later. Am sure I'll feel happier in the morning!

Bring on the labours, and those beautiful healthy babies :)

p.s. 100years they have room for you in the delivery suite, I checked :o

sebs71 · 30/08/2011 19:25

TP - Glad you got to see the consultant and specialist MW - they seemed to give you better news, and if there was anything worrying them, they'd book you in now. So obviously happy with how things are going. I'm sure the monitoring will be fine, and perhaps comforting too... Don't worry re long posts - it's good to hear everyone's news - feels like you aren't going through this on your own. Hurrah for your cottage pie, sounds about right for cold weather!!

Have a good evening everyone...!! And... Good sleeps?????

Meerkat11 · 30/08/2011 21:01

Hi great to hear everyone's news, I'm on my phone so won't do a good job of replying to everyone, but glad to hear about poppy smile, youresounding very chilled, enjoy all the biccies!
Sorry to hear you had a rough day tp hope thecottage pie did its job! Also glad that at least the consultant and mw were more reassuring.
Bummer about the fridge 100yrs, hope it all sorts out soon
Sorry all those others with news I haven't responded to Blush
think I've overdone it today- had a long walk with nct pal- we also live by the sea (seems a common theme here) so went along the beach and mudflats- v nice. Then gave in and cleaned the oven and did a bit of gardening- potato digging, what a fool. Back done in now so currently sat on sofa in pjs awaiting my evening treat!!
Tried out our birth pool (we have the mini pool in a box) on Sunday night- all worked well and was v nice- could have stayed in there longer, but it was getting late, just hoping I get to use it again!
Interested to hear about all these regular bowels- mine seem to be kicking in too, but I thought it was looseness that was more a sign? Intriguing :)
I keep thinking that I have something to do on thurs and can never remember what it is, so now I'm beginning to wonder if it's some weird subconcious message.... Or perhaps not ;)
Due date is this Sunday, and fingers crossed nursery will be more or less finished by then, so think I shall start on the inducement regime from then... Hehe!
Hope you all manage a good or at least reasonable night's sleep and looking forward to hearing more news...bumpy????!!

feralgirl · 30/08/2011 21:45

Ooh, Sebs, Sterren is the Cornish word for star and was one of our possible choices as well; isn't that funny?

TP, that's good to know about the monitoring actually. I need to add that into my birth plan as I was strapped down last time and, if I end up in hospital, there is no way I'm letting them do it again unless it's absolutely necessary as it was really uncomfortable.

I have a rotten cold now and have been coughing all day so have pulled all the muscles in my chest Sad I really really hope that I get over it before I go into labour as I don't want anything to interfere with my G&A intake!

Ssmile, I really like the sound of the monster catcher. DS is going through a nightmare phase of not sleeping but, at 2.9yo, is a bit too little to articulate what it is that's bothering him in the night. It is a bloody pita though as he automatically howls for me and we're trying to get him to learn that daddy is just as good at dealing with night problems so that I'll be able to concentrate on the bambino.

Only 6 days to go to EDD but I'm going to start trying the home remedies in earnest on Thursday once the new school year starts. Look out DH, here I come Wink

sebs71 · 30/08/2011 22:21

Meerkat - hope you are feeling better, I was happy I'd done a bit of hoovering today, your day seem!

Feral - the Cornish version sounds lovely too!! Hope cold goes and ds calls for dad.

Ssmile hope you have a calmer night...

ssmile · 31/08/2011 04:15

feralgirl we have been drumming it into our DD1 the last few wks to call for daddy first as her nighttimes have always been poor. Fingers Xed tonight both girls been much better its me that's awake at 3am expecting baby to need a feed and she still asleep at 4am! :)
DD1 at nursery today so hoping we all get bit more rest Wed &thurs as DH looks knackered too looking after her mostly.
My tum starting to shrink more now yah! Despite the bourbons. The worst thing when I had my first DD was coming out of hospital and still looking 9mths preg as I'd had no idea your tummy doesn't ping back in few hrs.Blush was most upset to wear maternity yoga pants to leave hospital. This time was prepared until had to look in full length mirror in the lift as we left!

Conkertree · 31/08/2011 08:17

Hope everyone had a good night. Its good to know that lots of people have had to work on lo's asking for dad instead of always mum as we have that issue too, and I think it gets to dh a bit as he looks after them a lot during the day too, so doesnt understand why he wont do at night. But gwtting there I think.

Ds1 has a really bad cough and was roasting last night so we had him in with us from the start more to keep an eye on him than anything. Ds2 decided to try and join us at about 4.30 but that didnt work. Despite having a super king size bed, with my big belly, it is still a bit of a squash, so managed to get him settled back in his own room, but it meant another broken night.

Never mind. As ssmile knows, we've all got them lined up soon. So on with the kilts and the tidying today. One day it will all be done. And then the baby will probably go 12 days overdue!

BumpyHeffalumpy · 31/08/2011 08:56

Am on my phone so just a short message. Little Peter arrived in the morning yesterday, over a week early. Quite a shock as I was expecting him to be late and thought he'd be a girl, even whilst I was in labour. Will be joining SSmile but will also stay here until the last one of us has delivered. What's the new thread called again SSmile?

jimmijam · 31/08/2011 09:00

meercat i had the very same feeling about the 18th august, even telling ppl i couldnt meet up with them cuz i felt i had something on. quietly a relative strangely also had the same date in her head too, but nothing :-( lets hope ur intuition is much better than ours!!!
conker and ssmile i hadnt even considered telling the kids in advance to go 2 dh at night, was just going to chuck them over that way wen they woke. dh off on 2 weeks hol from 2moro so they're all his at night ;-) if i can manage 2 chuck him out the bed, am soooo tired would love a day in bed really.mmmm...
last night ds didnt get me up at all and i only got up once 4 a wee yyyyyyaaaaaayyyy!!!! he used to sleep thru the night, but for the last couple of weeks can get me up anywhere between 2 and 6 times a night. my mum thinks its because he's anxious of the changes that are ahead.
reflexology today at 3pm, hoping it'll do some good!
bumpy where ru???????????? hoping u and baby r doing well, come back and let us know ur ok pleeeaaassse x

jimmijam · 31/08/2011 09:01

yay congratulations bumpy !!!!!!!! ooh, how did ur labour start and how did it go if u dont mind me asking? well done u!!! hope ur home now and managing to get some rest x

Conkertree · 31/08/2011 09:19

Yay bumpy. Congratulations. Cute name. Hope you are feeling ok after a surprise birth.

Jimmijam - good idea just to chuck them over. May do that too. Hope the reflexology works, or is at least relaxing.

CBear6 · 31/08/2011 09:37

Congratulations Bumpy! Two babies out, it's all happening :)

Sorry I can't catch up on anything other than the last page, phone is playing up and DH has reorganised the shelves so I've no idea where he's put the laptop Hmm

DS had a period of waking in the night shouting for his Dad, then we got him a little shake lamp from B&M and he seemed to settle for the last couple of weeks but the last two nights he's started doing it again. Around 1:30/2am without fail he starts shouting and screaming and tantruming. I'm wondering if someone in the houses out back (where his room is) is going in or out around that time and it's waking him because it just seems odd that he was waking up at that time each night, then stopped for a couple of weeks (on holiday maybe?), and now has started again and it's the exact same time again.

At the MW this afternoon for 38w check, I'm hoping she's not as bad as she was last time and can find the head this time (I'm actually hoping she's gone back to her regular duties and it'll be my own MW if I'm honest about it). I was thinking of asking if she'll do a sweep, I'm getting offered one next week anyway so it would only be a week early but them I'm thinking I've still got a few things to finish off including filling the cupboards and freezer by doing a huge food shop tomorrow. My love of being organised is fighting with my need to get this baby out!

MrsSawyer · 31/08/2011 09:53

I went to hospital yesterday for my last diabetic clinic and I had to get the consultant to clearly document in my notes that it was ok for my community mw to do a sweep before 40 weeks gestation, which she did, and so my cmw is coming on thurs to do an "aggressive sweep"! at 39 weeks. She had a good feel of my tummy and said baby is in optimum position and head is very low in my pelvis - did you know that when you have a sweep, aswell as loosing the membranes, they can also feel the bones on babys head to see which way the face is turned, isnt that fascinating!

Anyway, congrats bumpy and hopefully there'll be more of us soon, hope everyones ok today x

Misty9 · 31/08/2011 09:55

yey - congrats bumpy !! :) look forward to hearing the birth story.

having a lazy day today (again... Blush) but need to go into town later for more nappies (Boots 3for2 offer on) and a walk can't hurt re: getting things going from what I've heard. We were going to do a mad dash to look at a house tomorrow - a 7hr round trip in the car Shock but have decided against the trip and the house for now. House hunting will start in earnest once this one makes an appearance....
Right, September tomorrow so I'll get bouncing on that ball now Grin

tiddleypompom · 31/08/2011 10:15

Morning friends!
CONGRATULATIONS bumpy! Wasn't it annie s turn next?
I do love to hear of the new arrivals, someone said after ssmile that it was quiet emotional, and I agree :)
My NCT buddy DH texted yesterday eve to say that their daughter arrived at 5.30pm yesterday after a bit of a rough ride for mum and at 37 weeks. That's the first of the NCT group, so we're off!
MrsSawyer your 'aggressive' sweep sounds very interesting indeed, oh the things we do to get our babies out :o
Am feeling better today after a good sleep, good movement this morning from baby and a text from friend who is coming over to take me out for lunch - a trip out is exactly what I need (in lieu of a beach walk anyway!).
Happy days all - and enjoy those precious cuddles bumpy

BTW - has anyone seen 100years.... :o

Jojo1983 · 31/08/2011 10:19

Congratulations bumpy!
Cant believe how quickly the last 8/9 months have gone! Im still only 36+6 so still a while for me to go however was up in the night with mild period pains and have been on the toilet a bit more (sorry TMI) so you never know!
So whos going to be next??

CBear6 · 31/08/2011 10:35

Oh yeah, the toilet thing. Not to bring the conversation back to poop but I've gone from being unable to go (or at least only going every few days) to going 2-3 times a day. Started feeling a little bit sickly in the morning and evening again too. Hoping it's a sign of the big clear-out starting. Am I the only one overanalysing every little sign? Please say I'm not :)

That is fascinating MrsSawyer, I hope your sweep works :) I remember in labour with DS the MW said that when she looked she saw the top of DS's head during each contraction and that he had loads of hair. I invited her to grab a handful of it and use it to pull him out :o

100years · 31/08/2011 10:43

Yay yay yay bumpy congratulations :) That's fabulous, well done. Look forward to hearing more soon. Here is the new thread from Ssmile sept post natal

jimmi I'd be tempted with the trampoline were I not scared of bruising LO's head with some furious bouncing! Probably not even possible I know. Lets hope the new moses basket arrives in time (it was a moses basket wasn't it?) It was mother care that I had the cot issue with, so my belief in their service is at rock bottom sadly.

Annie will keep fingers crossed you aren't waiting much longer.

sebs that's so nice to do the family tree :) And it sounds like research proper as opposed to just sitting there like I was doing!

Conker I've practically delivered a baby over the phone to someone in the car, the amb arrived just before the final pushing bit, but it was properly happening at the time when I was speaking to them. I'm hoping I'll be able to use my calm approach to the calls of that nature as I will when I have my LO!

jojo exciting stuff for you :) Shame about the trapped nerve.

ssmile get eating those biscuits :)

TP I have been told I'll be on constant monitoring too, but they do have a couple of wireless monitors, so I'm hoping to bag one of those when I go in, also I think the wireless ones can go in the pool, from what I was told at one appointment. Fingers crossed I've not been given duff information and therefore passed duff info on to you. Thanks for checking on the rooming situation, must have just been a Bank Holiday rush on! Are they giving you another scan to check on growth or are they happy enough? I think I've met that midwife and she was really lovely :)

Thanks meerkat all these people living by the sea, the closest I come to water now is the canals!

feral sorry about the pulled muscle :(

CBear fingers crossed for MW knowing the orientation of the baby!

MrsS maybe I should have asked for a sweep last week at the hosp then while I was there if they are doing one at 39 weeks for you. Didn't know that about feeling which way baby is lying.

misty Yeouch 7 hours in the car, I would HATE that. :(

I am not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep up these catch up with everyone posts of mine, not because I think anything is happening, but tomorrow is my Due date!!!! That's tomorrow, tomorrow is September Shock I cannot believe it! I reckon I'll be waiting forever though!!! LOL, still I'm in good spirits today which is good. Managed only to have 4 wees in the night and was only awake from 5-6!!!

Midwife this afternoon, I'm hoping she will do a sweep, and from that I will hopefully get an idea if anything is getting ready, if there is no readiness in that area then I know I will be waiting longer, if there is readiness then I'll probably go into OMG mode!

Went to Nandos last night for tea, and then nipped into Waitrose on the way home and have things in the fridge, and managed to get a cold drink last night at home! WOW. Have celebrated the fact we have cold milk this morning by having a cup of tea!!!

My OH has decided he wants LO to wait till at least tomorrow because of the school year, I said that will bring her out! But then again he's working from home today, so if anything were to happen then it's too easy with him being here, it's probably got to be a day where he is at work and biked in etc etc etc!!!

Re the poo thing, yep I think it's more loose motions that are a signal that labour is on it's way, but I'm so slow naturally that going everyday for me is a big change!

Had more BH, but I'm fairly sure it's just going to be like that from now on. Had a weird almost stabbing like pain in my back passage last night while I was in Waitrose, not pleasant.

Got OH's parents visiting this weekend, coming down this afternoon, and I think we are out for tea tonight, they are stopping at his sister's house just down the road, so if LO comes along soon then they will see her. :)

We have I think finally decided on a first and middle name, the first name has been decided for a while, and we weren't going for a middle name, but we have changed our minds, and after some discussion over middle names, which I said no to 2 I think we are there.

Right, off to catch up with a couple of other places. Be back later if we aren't out for a meal or tomorrow and will catch up then. :) Unless I post in between MW and the meal. :)

100years · 31/08/2011 10:45

Oh, sorry I've missed 3 posts while I was posting that epic post! I must just keep things short from now on.

TP congrats to your friend :) I'm here :) Still?.

CBear, yep I'm analysing everything now!!!

I asked my sister if when I'm in the pushing stage of labour if I could push on the top of the bump and push her out as well as pushing in my bottom! I'm not sure it'll work though

OP posts:
Annie456 · 31/08/2011 10:59

Oh I would love to be next tiddley...thought it was happening last night after regular cramps that felt like a hot poker but seems to have died down a bit. Midwife said it sounds like early labour but you know what means..could be hours or days away yet.Hmm still feeling quite tender though so hopefully something will start up in the next 24 hours...

Ive got a sweep booked tomorrow with my male midwife and I really don't want to have to go through that...I can ask for a female midwife but i guess I should just suck it up and deal with it!!!
Labour vibes please people!!!! Grin

100years · 31/08/2011 11:11

Sending Labour Vibes to Annie.

OP posts:
tiddleypompom · 31/08/2011 11:18

Jojo we have the same due date - I am 36+6 today also! Race you.. :o

cbear I am analyzing other people's symptoms - that makes me even more over the top, doesn't it?!

So - unless we have any further action (annie I am looking at you) today, we may be into Sept babies... Well that was what we had all thought 6 months ago I guess (all except annie anyway!).

100years yes I think they do have wireless monitors, but I am not sure of our chances for water labour in the delivery ward, as though they have a pool, they have never filled it due to lack of staff... The BHol rush was exacerbated by Eid apparently - lack of staff... There is a pattern forming here... Lack of staff... :o

ssmile · 31/08/2011 11:20

Many congrats bumpy hope u and little peter can get some rest now.
on the other Sept thread summerpixie delivered this morn too. Ooh makes me feel all emotional Yeh :-) cheering on the other little bumps to arrive.

We all had better night baby slept mostly between 2hrly feeds only wide awake 1-2am but none of the crying in tum discomfort of previous night so a lot less tiring for me. Plus our other DD slept 10pm-7am so DHs monster catcher outside her bedroom door worked :o

Vproudly hand expressed 10ml mummy golden milk off sore side too. BF getting easier. Waiting for MW now to do heel prick test, weigh lo and take my stitches out (ouch not looking forward to that)

Forgive me for not mentioning u all by name my phone makes it hard to scroll up& down but its nice to follow all the progress.

jimmijam · 31/08/2011 12:23

Ooh 2 having ur stitches out :-o with both my cs and vbac i had disolvable stitches
looks like babies r gunna start popping out more regularly on here now :-)
Last night i felt bad again, smelly toilet trips, lots of slightly painful bh, back ache, felt sick, sleepy and v. Sharp pains down below that kept on coming. Not labour but not nice :-(
