Now I know the threads we were in weren't finished, but there were 3 threads for the September due dates, and I thought it would be nice to get everyone together and share their experiences.

Stats thread is here If you aren't on there, then get adding yourself.

Hopefully we can all get through the last stint together :)

I'm due 1st Sept, so one month to go, if the LO is punctual.

Hi everyone how are we all doing - starting to feel like the final hurdles now! I can't see has anyone had their baby yet? Am feeling very big and moon-faced now and have sore hands and feet and killer heartburn. So glad to be on maternity leave I take my hat off to women who manage to work until 38 weeks! Keep waking up super early then having to go back to bed to sleep again at 9am!

Hospital bag is packed and am just about to meet a friend who had her baby in the same hospital as I'm planning to in Dublin, slightly apprehensive. Still haven't done ante-natal but have it booked for 2 weeks time (hoping this isn't too late - there can't possibly be another 4 weeks of growing in there?!!)

100years · 25/08/2011 13:16

Oh Jimmi :( Poor thing. You can always ring up your mw if you feel you need to.

Dualta, I also think people who manage to work almost till EDD are amazing, I personally couldn't have done it, whether that's because of what I do or whether I wouldn't be able to do it anyway is something I won't know.

Had busy morn sorting DD for nursery& bags to grandmas for later. Then sat at hospital waiting an hr to be seen for pre-op. All went ok so didn't need to stay in, just nil by mouth from midnight and 2tablets to take at 10pm &6am, then need to be back in hospital at 7.45am tom. Fingers crossed should be on post natal ward by lunchtime. Hope to get a nap now as DD had dreadful night with chesty cough so vtired today, then off to deliver her to grandPs. Looking forward to fish n chip 'last supper' tonight :)

Gd luck to everyone hope you all be ok, I may be off line for couple days now :o but hopefully back with gd news over the weekend.

jimmijam · 25/08/2011 14:05

I agree there, no way could i have worked any longerr!

Round here the only way 2 get in touch with midwife is by ringing surgery and leaving a msg 4 wen shes next in, have done that a few times b4 and nothings been done about the msgs

reflexology session booked 4 31st if lo not hete, hopefuly will relax or cheer me up if nothing else

best of luck ssmile with 2moro!! And congratulations in advance xx.

CosmicCloud · 25/08/2011 14:11

Not got time to catch up properly just now but just wanted to say good luck for tomorrow ssmile. Can't wait to hear your news. :)

MrsSawyer · 25/08/2011 15:01

yes, bloody good luck ssmile, come back and give us a detailed brief description of the birth!

Im very sore 'down below' today and feel a lot of pressure very low down at bottom of bump, hoping its a good sign (but if LO could hang on for a week, an early sept baby would be lovely, I already have an august born DS!) Been on a frantic clean of the downstairs so upstairs to do tomorrow, cant be doing too much when its lovely and sunny outside :)

CBear6 · 25/08/2011 15:11

Good luck for tomorrow ssmile, can't wait to hear how you get on :) Yay for the first of the babies, we're all nearly done!

tiddleypompom · 25/08/2011 15:23

Number One about to arrive - good luck ssmile and enjoy those first cuddles! Did your hallway get a paint job in the end by the way?

Anyone going to put in a last minute sprint to beat mini-smile??

First off the bus this is going to be very emotional...

Sumi76 · 25/08/2011 15:53

Good luck ssmile !

100years · 25/08/2011 15:58

Jimmi, that sounds like a bad situation re contacting midwives, we have a community midwife and her number, or her team's number to contact, if all else fails we can ring the hospital.

Good luck Ssmile :) Hope all goes well and can't wait to hear about the first 'September' baby

Tiddley, I'm trying but LO is refusing to do anything!!! LOL I think she knows that the fridge person still hasn't come and so is staying put so I don't have contractions and a stranger in my house at the same time Wink

Tra la laaa, still going to be waiting for me to be induced, does a dance.

We'll have to have a new thread soon in the post natal club area!

ooh, good luck for tomorrow ssmile - the first to pop :)

starting to dream about the labour now...feels surreal it could be anytime. It's been hitting me today that I'll def be a mummy this time next month! I've achieved absolutely nothing today - still in my dressing gown on the sofa... Blush I'd like to say I'm 'making the most of it', but I'm really just being lazy and avoiding my dissertation corrections...
Had 38wk check up yesterday and baby's now 1/5 engaged (nearly fully, whichever round you read it) and I think I've maybe started losing plug? It's thick/gloopy and white/creamy yellow? Sorry for the gross description! Poss got a UTI so on ABs for that just in case too.

right, I really need to get off my butt and at least have a shower today! Hope all are having good days :)

CBear6 · 25/08/2011 16:20

Oooh, could be your plug Misty. It can come away gradually or all at once. I remember mine with DS was like streaks of orange snot followed by a lump of it, TMI and a for good measure. How glamourous is pregnancy?! Don't feel bad about the dressing gown thing, I'm sitting on my gym ball watching ER and eating a Twix :o

DH wants me to do him a list of the jobs I want doing before baby comes and he says he'll get them done tomorrow and Monday but he wants "a serious list and not nesting madness jobs". I'm struggling to tell the difference to be honest.

Lots of BHs here, especially when walking, and an unwelcome return of nausea in the morning and evening, baby still engaged. No other signs though that anything might be happening. MW next Wednesday and she's apparently going to arrange a sweep for the following Wednesday (when I'll be 39+3). DS was 40/40 so hoping this one won't go over that.

Misty9 · 25/08/2011 16:50

ooh, chocolate :) I've got the most amazingly delicious wheat-free choc and cherry cake from M&S in the kitchen - but had some last night and then felt sick.... :(

cbear6 you're lucky with your DH - mine has kept threatening to write ME a list of things to keep me occupied Shock although, to be fair, he knows how, shall we say immobile, I can get when left to my own devices and how it doesn't usually make me feel too good about myself...

hmm, maybe it is plug then; has been happening for a couple weeks now so I won't get excited just yet... 11 days to go! (until the day he's least likely to be born on from what I've read! Grin)

100years · 25/08/2011 17:04

Oooh Misty, exciting stuff :)

Fridge is proper broken need a new one. Joy, thankfully we are renting so it's not for us to sort out, but it does mean we are kind of at the hands of the landlady and with a weekend and bank holiday coming up who knows how long we will be waiting for a fridge/freezer.

OP posts:
sebs71 · 25/08/2011 17:29

Hope I haven't missed you ssmile ... Good luck for tomorrow... can't wait to hear news of the first LO here... how exciting :)

100years - Hope landlady gets its all sorted quickly. Shops stay open all bank holidays so she doesn't have an excuse not to act quickly. Hope you feeling better today...

Misty - hope it is the plug then... I'm still waiting for something like that to show, but nothing...

Been to midwife today - all ok, but LO still not engaged!! Head is over the pelvis, so in the right place, but just not "lowering"...! But, you can engage right before labour so not going to worry...

Feeling down today, it's 10 years today since I lost my mum. I think it's all the more poignant this anniversary as I'm about to become a mum for the first time.

Sorry, didn't mean to get down, just needed to say it, if you know what I mean.

Cbear - sorry the nausea's back... :( My next mw appt is 6/9, which is 40+1... and I think she'll do a sweep then too. Got a feeling I'm going to be late but we'll see!!

feralgirl · 25/08/2011 17:36

Ooh, Misty, maybe you're going to be next after ssmile! I had my show/ plug three days before I had DS. It is a bit rank, like someone's blown their nose in your pants! On the subject of being rank, I did think that my waters had started to break this morning but then realised that it was just that DS had bounced so much on my belly that he'd made me wee myself a bit Blush Pregnancy really is a beautiful time...

I have gone from thinking I am totally imminent and being so tired and achy that I can't move to having a big spurt of energy and actually feeling really quite good in the last couple of days (despite still being sick in the afternoons Sad). I remember doing this with DS though; the evening before I went into labour I was up a stepladder, frantically hanging curtains as if my life depended on it. Crazy nesting hormones perhaps?

Spent the whole day in school today (results are good as a whole school, my personal results for my classes are great Grin) and it was really nice doing something other than being pregnant.

I am so so so so excited for you ssmile Grin All the very very best of luck for tomorrow and have a lovely evening. Hope your DD feels better soon and doesn't give you all her lurgy!

Conkertree · 25/08/2011 20:33

Well done on the exam results feralgirl. What do you teach?

Ds2 has decided not to go to sleep this evening, so am not able to do the work I was planning to do. Nevermind - more time for mn while I try to keep him from waking his big brother.

Never sure if I should drop his afternoon nap, but if he doesnt get it, he can be pretty cross by about 4pm.

I am starting to relax and enjoy the last weeks of wondering when it will kick off for everyone. Its the same excitement as the two week wait threads. Still got a lot to do here (including buying a new crib or somewhere else for this lo to sleep as our new house has a much smaller bedroom, so dont want to go straight for the cot as we did for ds2. Mind you he ended up co-sleeping a fair bit, so maybe we should just do that!

The bump cast we did has not dried quite right (possibly cause ds1 went up to it and just about stuck his hand right through) so might do another at the weekend.

Very exciting that the first baby will be here tomorrow.

jimmijam · 25/08/2011 23:38

May not b on herr again, think im going in2 labour :-/

ssmile · 26/08/2011 06:41

Sewmuchtodo · 26/08/2011 08:36

Good luck ssmile and jimmijam, hope all is over now and you are snuggling with your new babies! x

Misty9 · 26/08/2011 08:37

morning ladies
after a bit of advice - last night I was lying in bed and when I got up there was a searing pain in the top left of my bump. It's worse when I stand up/lie down/move and is very tender to the touch. He's still moving about and it's not the side he kicks me on most, so I don't think it's caused by him. Does it sound like a pulled muscle? Too painful to sleep on my left but managed some on my right from 5am... All I bloody need!
Has anyone experienced this??

Good luck jimmijam - sounds promising!

Conkertree · 26/08/2011 08:40

I had a similar pain misty but a bit earlier on, and I think it was muscle tearing or at least stretching more than it should, and found it diffifcult to walk/ turn over etc but it sorted itself in a day or two, but there is no harm making a call to the mw if you are worried.

Good luck jimmijam and ssmile - guess this is where the popping begins. Very exciting.

Jojo1983 · 26/08/2011 08:55

Good luck jimmijam and ssmile!
Feeling a bit down today OH is back in hospital and Im off to the midwives this afternoon so can't be with him. I know he will be fine but still it plays on your mind.
Lots of BH yesterday when sitting in the hospital and lots of pains today so trying not to get to stressed.
Hope everyone is doing well and can't waiit to hear the news of the new arriivals.

sebs71 · 26/08/2011 09:05

Morning. Misty - it does sound like pulled muscle or similar but worth talking thru with your midwife as conkertree said.

Can't believe two of us already pushing. Good luck both can't wait to hear the news.
