hey klou ive just thought, by the time this thread is full and we start a new one, madkatz and iwish hopefully will have popped so we'll have to go into 'postnatal clubs' or something!

KLou111 · 23/07/2011 16:00

Wish it was that warm here klou! we do have a bit of sun but it's not shorts weather. Have you and your DH agreed your names yet?

Lol melly good job. Maybe not so good she woke up tho hehe. And scary that we could all have had our little ones by then! Around 10 weeks till both madkatz and I are due!

Just been given a load of clothes from my friend for bubba. They are gorgeous and some of them not even worn. Even 3 pramsuits and little coats!

KLou111 · 23/07/2011 17:23

Ah that was nice of your friend. Names sorted Holly Jayne for girl and Ewan John or Ethan John for boy. More set on Ewan I think though but we'll see.

Getting a lovely tan here. Meant to be warmer tomorrow and hot all week. About time :)

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 23/07/2011 19:52

klou they're lovely names! I prefer ewan john to ethan, are you not going to spell it iwan now then?

iwish that was a nice thing for your friend to do, are they all different sizes or the same?

Iwish · 23/07/2011 20:02

klou Both names are lovely. I think Ewen is the nicest too. I think you are having a girl Grin. Does your DH agree with the names too?

melly she has given me a few tiny baby. Some newborn and some 0-3. 3 big bags!!

I'm now washing everything I have bought and everything she has given me. Loving it lol! Can't wait till it's all dry so I can put it all in his drawers ready.

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 24/07/2011 10:12

Omgosh! Amy Winehouse is dead! I can't believe it! She was so talented when she wasn't drunk or drugged up.

lizandlulu · 24/07/2011 10:47

well good morning everyone!!!! where shall i start?

i hope you are all well, i feel like i have been run over with a tarmac truck, but still not as bad as i thught i would.

sorry i didnt let you all know i was home last night, got back at about 6ish and felt alittle overwhelmed, had mum and dad and 2 best mates here for chinese and it all felt abit much.

well, my waters broke at 2am in bed on thursday morning, i have never jumped out of bed so quick, i shoved a towel in betwenn my legs and woke chris to say it had happened, he got up, then got back in bed in a daze thinking i was joking!
then he came to me in the bathroom panicking what to do, had to tell him to get me the hpone and mat notes and go and get dressedGrin

mum came round to stay with lulu and we went to the hospital, in the car on the way the contractions started at every 3 minsShock didnt last too long and could breathe through them, but was a little scared.

when got to hopsital, they monitored me and scanned to make sure it was still breech, i had a student midwife monitoring me and i asked her about the girl/horse/boy/train thing and she said it sounded like a girl, so she was right!

then the surgeon (also called chris) came and spoke to me, he was lovely, let me keep contacts in and toe varnish on, then sent for blood tests and said it was going to be sooner rather than later, if i was having contractions there was no point being in pain if i was having a section anyway, so at half 5 i went into theather, absoloutly shitting myself.

i had to sit on the bed for the spinal block and was just getting it done, which was the worst part of the whole thing, when chris said he felt faint and he had to actuall lie down!! theres me sat on the bed with needles in my back and its HIM who cant copeGrin andway, it worked really quickly, its a very strange sensation, not being able to move my legs or feel anything, and even when they started the section, i thoughti would feel SOMETHING, but didnt, not a thing. none of the pulling of tugging or anything.

turns out not only was she breech but also had her back the wrong way round (not really sure what that means) and he had to get his hands inside me to flip her over, while a lady pushed on my belly to her her turn (not too unlike ECV) and he was proper huffing and panting getting her out, i thought i was going to end up with a 12lb baby the way they were going on!

chris felt faint yet again as he was watching all of it, so he turned round and faced away and he felt better. so the baby came out and no one bloody said what it was!! i had to ask about 5 times before anyone actually said 'its a girl'!! well what a shock, i told you my intuition must be shit!

any way, she was 8lb 3, not massive at all and we have decided to Violet Star for her name. funny how all the way through i was set on crystal yet now she doesnt look like a crystal at all.

chris has been very good for her first night, he saw to her first time, then me, but my milk came in and she wouldnt settle, so chris had to settle her and she woke about 3 times in the night.

i will report back later on, got the midwife coming this morning, but dont know what timeSmile

KLou111 · 24/07/2011 11:32

Oh Liz it all sounds like it all went fab :) Sound like you kept your cool and Chris was doing all the panicking!!
Lol about no-one telling you the sex!! Name is beautiful.
Glad you are all settled down back at home, I bet that's the worst thing, being in hospital and all that. How are you coping having had a c-section as I know you were a bit Hmm
Well done you, you've done it!!!!

Not spelling Ewan with an I now Melly. Our surname is Gameson, and DH has spent his whole life having to spell it out, so thought we'd just have a 'normal' spelling first name! Although I am a Katy and have spent my whole life saying Katy with a Y, now I have to spell my surname too!!
We were all set on Ava for a girl but I said to DH a couple of months ago about Holly and he said he preferred it to Ava, so that was easy :)

Been taking the Raspberry leaf tabs Liz and have been getting BH since lol. Hoping bubs will come early as we're both getting excited now :)

Went out in the end last night as friggin neighbours decided to have a bonfire on the hottest day in the last 2 weeks!! Not very bright! Wouldn't have minded if they'd done it after dark, but the lit it at 6:30pm when it was still baking hot! Bloody meant to be hotter today so we said we were OK with them having it, and it's sodding overcast today!!! Well pissed off. Anyway, DH had a kebab at the end of the night full of chillis and really hot sauce, and he spent the whole time eating it trying to get me to have some to get the baby out lol!

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 24/07/2011 12:17

Well done liz sounds like you coped brilliantly! At least it wasn't just your intuition that was shit, everyone elses was too :o what does lulu think of her new baby sister? Violet star is a gorgeous name too, you don't hear violet very often either so it's nice have a violet in our midst! That's a good weight too, not too big and not too small! Sounds like she was a bit awkward to get out though lol. What was the surgeon like, was he black?

klou i know what you mean with the 'katy with a y' the amount of people who have asked me if it's poppy with a y or ie is ridiculous! The first time someone asked me if it was ie i just thought 'Hmm wtf planet do you come from?' simons surname is beighton, i've seen it spelt so many different ways it's gone way past amusing! It's weird how people could mis-spell gameson though, im assuming you pronounce it exactly how it's spelt?

KLou111 · 24/07/2011 12:23

Yep, Gameson like Jameson with G!! So simple yet it's made so difficult.
Never heard of Poppy with an ie TBH lol :)

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 24/07/2011 14:26

No i haven't either! People are so odd sometimes.

GruffaloMama · 24/07/2011 15:59

Hiya. Good news! Baby Gruffalo arrived yesterday morning at 5.40am. 10lb2oz. Girl called Florence. Will update properly later - on phone now. At home now.

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 24/07/2011 16:14

Congratulations Gruffalo!! That's a lovely name. Hope you're both doing ok, and that it was a good birth :)

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 24/07/2011 16:17

I'm going to state the blatantly obvious now, 3 babies here, 3 left to come! Just klou, madkatz and iwish to go now!

KLou111 · 24/07/2011 18:31

Wow huuuuuuge congrats Gruff beautiful name. That's a whopper!!!! Hope all went OK. Glad you're home and hopefully getting settled :)

Quite scared now........I'm next!!!!!

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 24/07/2011 19:39

CONGRATULATIONS gruffalo cant wait to hear all the detailsSmile

klou are you still hanging in there? your names are lovely too. i liked reenee for a girl, but our surname is odd too, its crowden-murfin and i am constantly telling people how its spelt, so i too wanted an easy first name that wasnt hard to spell and i wasnt too sure how to spell reenee, or renee or reneHmm

well violet has been a breeze to settle today, shes had 2 oz at the most in one go ,then gone back to sleep fairly easily, hope it lasts into the night! my milk has come in and boobs are getting hard and sore, not nice, plus back is still killing me

lizandlulu · 24/07/2011 19:39

will just put some pics on

lizandlulu · 24/07/2011 19:46

oh and klou i feel like i have been run over by a steam roller, more from my back than the actual scar. i am only having paracetamol and 3 dicalaflenic a day, i imagined i would be having more

lizandlulu · 24/07/2011 19:58

sorry for the mulitple posts, head is all over,

melly no the surgeon was a youngish white bloke called chris of all things! let me keep my contacts in (said that he had his in so it was only fair i got to keep mine inGrin), toe varnish on and was totally lovely. the anesthetis was black, and abit grumpy (according to the surgeon) but i didnt want to upset him ,so was charm itselfGrin couldnt help but jump tho when he first put the needle in! totally awful

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 24/07/2011 20:46

Awww liz shes gorgeous! And she does look like her 4d scan pics! I know it is her, but what i mean is you can actually tell its her. If you see what i mean? Just wondered about the surgeon because the one who kept popping into my room was black, thought it would be funny if it was the same guy!

Im slightly worried that poppy is going to pop, she hasn't had a poo since about 4am friday morning! Been eating and farting plenty though Hmm

lizandlulu · 24/07/2011 21:04

hmm does she seem ok in herself? not in pain or owt? i wouldnt worry but if she hasnt had one by tomorrow morning, ring docs just for advice?

ment to tell you, when i gto to the hospital and went straight to the labour ward, they only put me in the bloody birth pool room! i said your having a laugh arent you?? i wanted to use this all along till the baby started being awkwardGrin i see what you mean about it just being a flimsy one, not sure i would have had the lovely experience i was hoping for with that anyway.

KLou111 · 24/07/2011 21:32

Liz Violet is beautiful, and I totally get what Melly means about the scan looking like her lol!!
Wouldn't know how to spell Renee either!
Lol about the birth pool!!! Typical it was free, be just my luck someone's using ours!
Just try and take it easy now. Sounds like Vi Grin is behaving herself.

Still hanging in here, but want this baby out!! Had enough now. Been all achy all day, back, belly, and bloody BH! We're both hoping s/he is early.

Melly are you breast feeding? If so, I thought that Poppy would be pooing soft quite regularly. I'd do what Liz said and get some advice :)

OP posts:
Melly20MummyToPoppy · 24/07/2011 21:42

I just posted about it in chat as there doesn't appear to be a topic on poo :o and i have been reassured it's perfectly normal for breastfed babies to go for days without pooing, one person said she heard of someone whose baby went for 21 days! Thats 3 weeks without pooing!!

That's just typical liz putting you in that room! Poppy was born 2 rooms down from that one :) room 8 or 9 i think. Apparantly those pools are meant to be really sturdy, you can sit on the edge of them without them collapsing! What does lulu think of violet then?

Iwish · 24/07/2011 21:53

Aww Liz she is so cute! And such a lovely name! Glad she has been easy to settle today, the easier the better while you are recovering :)

Congrats gruff!! that's fab news. Can't wait to hear the details and see some piccies.

Oooh klou you next! Bet you can't wait now. You will need to try the labour starting theories Grin

melly I'm sure Poppy won't pop. She will probably do a surprise explosive poop at about 1am lol!

My little one seems to be very active tonight. We have been playing s game. He sticks his foot up and lowers it down so I tickled where he stuck it up and he stuck it out again! Love it hehe.
Was really suffering last night with sore hips and pelvis etc. Couldn't get comfy and I'm pretty sure I spent most of the night awake. Physio appt isn't till 31st August which is a bit useless. Might not be able to walk anywhere by then!!
