Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

PP DP took Friday off so I could have reflexology and he's going in late every day so he can drop DS at school on his way so I do realise how lucky I am I just hate being so uncomfortable. They're both toddlers with loads of energy and I feel awful not being able to do much with them.

Kara DP decided he'd prefer to stay home and rent Harry Potter so we managed to watch half before the kids got dropped home earlier than we were expecting. Not quite action packed but I was half asleep anyway. It seems the better night I have the more sleepy I feel the next day!

We must be due an announcement soon! Xx

KaraStarbuckThrace · 25/06/2011 20:10

I see no more news....

milliemuffin · 25/06/2011 21:30

Come on babies!!

crazychic141187 · 25/06/2011 21:34

Kara I totally understand the not settling in the cot and falling asleep on the bed thing. Maisie has decided its playtime between 12 and 3 so wont sleep in the basket. The only thing that she will do is feed from me then DP will take her to try and settle her only for me to be woken up again an hour later so that she can feed some more. She will lie on the bed eyes wide open and I will fall asleep to wake up with her asleep and then I can put her in her basket for a good sleep till around 9ish!

Maisie got weighed yesterday and has lost 7.4% of her birth weight (cant remember if i already said that) so now I feel like she hasn't been feeding enough. My milk came in yesterday (rather embarrasing moment when Maisie was pressing on my boob and it started leaking out) so im sure she will put the weight back on in no time seeing as she is feeding for longer!

Sending vibes to all those babies who are still snuggly in their make shift homes that don't want to come out seeing as its nearly the end of June so they should be here!

curiouselle · 25/06/2011 22:36

I just got back from visiting my friend in hospital who had her LO a month early (on my due date!!) and he is adorable! I am soo pleased for her but it has made me even more frustrated that my LO is not here Confused My boob randomly leaked after visiting, so even my nipples are ready - COME ON BABY!

milliemuffin · 25/06/2011 22:44

Anyone had/got an increase in discharge? My waters are still very much in tact but all day I've had a very 'wet/moist' feeling.

misshoohaa · 26/06/2011 01:35

Hi all, sorry i haven't posted, things have been pretty busy since mrhoohaa made his entrance but we are both doing great.

Sorry to the ladies that are still waiting, sending labour vibes your way. Not sure what worked for me but I went into labour on my due date and he was born the next day. So our induction methods were... Lots of sex, complete with orgasms GrinGrin, walking, somewhat hilly, uneven footpaths, acupressure, raspberry leaf and evening primrose oil tablets and visualisation. Lots of visualisation! DH was also adamant I was going to go into labour and kept talking about it as if it was a done deal so the power of positive thinking rung true! Have to say for the syptom spotters that there wasn't really anything outstanding to tell me it was imminent, I didn't have my show until well into established labour. The only thing was the night it all kicked off i went to bed with a definite anxious excited feeling, like I knew something was happening the next day.

Im determined to write up birth story in full so will post that when I get round to it!

Take. Care all, sorry for typos..... Munchkin on the boob!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 26/06/2011 01:37

I've felt like that for days Millie. Think I've become slightly incontinent Blush there is just no room inside me for anything but food and baby. And as my greedy baby is sucking up all the extra food (making sure it massive before appearing no doubt Angry), it's all baby squeezing things. Maybe I should stop eatting, obviously I'm providing to good a room service!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 26/06/2011 01:46

Curious nipple leakage is a good sign. I had it the week before DS and the MW assured me it meant things were moving in the right direction. Boobs are stubbornly leak free this time.

I do have my cake recipe now at least, though will wait for daytime to reduce the burning risk!

curiouselle · 26/06/2011 05:19

congratulations on your Lo's arrival misshoohaa looking forward to hearing your birth story!

confessions I really hope your mw was right and boob leakage is a sign! on day 5 now and starting to worry things are not going to happen naturally. I always thought I was a patient person, it seems I really am not! Glad you got your cake receipe at least you will have a tasty distraction, maybe the smell will coax lo out! Wink I also am worried about the amount I'm eating and size of baby Shock

millie can't say I have noticed change in discharge, take it as a sign - take anything that makes you feel better! ha ha at least we have eachother to go crazy together keeping eachother sane Smile

moomin156 · 26/06/2011 09:26

morning all.......we need some more baby news. i wonder who will be last Wink
Well the gaviscon seems to be stopping LO from regurging lots of milk and it is possibly settling her stomach a little. Its quite a challenge to get her to take it from the syringe im sure she only swallows about a 1ml from the 15ml, we get in a right mess Grin Thank goodness i over purchased muslins lol
Well today is my last day in this house, tomorrow the packers arrive and we move tuesday. Will be sad to leave, its been a happy and life changing house the 2 years ive been here. Anxious about leaving friends and particularly my parents. Feel so guilty about taking their granddaughter 150miles away but will be lovely to be a proper family with DH home everynight.
So glad we decided to pay extra for the packing service how i would have managed to pack in between feeds i dont know and think i would be even more stressed.
Sending labour vibes to you all

takethatlady · 26/06/2011 09:39

Good luck with the move moomin :) Sounds like it's absolutely the right thing. And thanks for the tips misshooha! Congratulations on everything - glad it's going well.

millie and coaaf I did have this a couple of weeks ago (you may remember I went to the hospital thinking I was leaking fluid Blush) - it was even pink for a few days - but it's all petered out a bit now. Had bright red wet blood when I wiped last Sunday too, which stopped by Monday and hasn't returned. Starting to wonder if I really did have a show on 22nd, too! I seem to get what I think is a sign and then nothing. Still, it's only my due date today so I should really be trying to be patient ...

The baby went absolutely nuts for about three hours last night - wriggling, hiccups, kicking, rolling, all sorts. She's moving about a bit this morning too and usually she's very quiet in the mornings, but Google reveals this is not a sign :(

perpetual I hate it how they don't take into account your dates from charting. The difference between my dates from charting and my dates from LMP is five weeks! (Problem with long cycles, plus the previous cycle was an early mc which made it even longer.) Doctor wouldn't have a bar of it. Sent me for my 12 week scan at what he assumed was actually 14 weeks and it revealed I was spot on with my dates. I got told off for coming to the scan early when I knew I was only 9 weeks! Silly.

COME ON BABY!!!!!!!!!!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 26/06/2011 10:19

Crazy - 7.4% weight loss is fine! Newborns are expected to lose up to 10% of their birth weight, anything above that may be a cause for concern. Cara hasn't quite regained her birth weight and there has been no suggestion that I am not feeding her enough - I live in an area where there has been a lot of investment in breastfeeding support so all of our MWs and HVs are very clued up.
Leaky boobs are annoying aren't they! I have the same. They don't necessarily indicated supply though.

Couriselle - hopefully new baby visit might spur yours on!

Millie - I had that increased discharge but was having contractions, so I thought it might be a bit of bladder leakage. But it could be hind water leakage?

Misshoohaa - kudos for nursing at keyboard Grin Look forward to hearing your birth story!

Confessions - clearly baby is far too comfy in you Grin My boobs didn't start to leak until a day or 2 after my milk came in!

Moomin - you never have too many muslins! Good luck with the move I think you are very brave!!

TTL - if I go by my charting dates, DD was only 1 day late and DS was 10 days late!! Instead by scan date they were 6 days and 4 days late respectively

Cara had her second bath this morning and didn't cry!! She seemed to enjoy it, just grizzled a bit when I took her out but once I wrapped her in the towel she was fine :)

milliemuffin · 26/06/2011 10:27

My bump was also really active yesterday and last night. I really can't believe I might actually get to my EDD (DC born at 38+0 and 38+3) The last 2 MW appts and all 3 reflexology sessions I've been told baby will be here very soon yet now I'm actually believing I might have to be induced.

My friend is being induced today and is convinced she'll have baby in her arms within a couple of hours but I have tried to explain it doesn't always work out like that.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one worrying about how much weight baby is putting on. My friend had her 3rd baby in august, I think he was just under 10lb Blush

And as for who's last, seeing as I'm last on the list it's only fair it should be me Sad

Got DS's 4th birthday party on 23/7, was hoping to have a month old baby by then. At this rate it'll be about a week old and I'll still be only just recovering!

milliemuffin · 26/06/2011 10:30

Forgot to say it's definitely discharge. I had black knickers on yesterday only by the end of the day there was more white than black.

milliemuffin · 26/06/2011 10:35

Flippin hormones!! DS (nearly 4!) has just emptied my shampoo into the bath and I'm trying so hard not to cry and he's laughing! Have had to come in my room before I go crazy Sad

PerpetualProvocateur · 26/06/2011 10:58

No more babies overnight? Anxiously waiting for some more good news!

This waiting room is getting smaller and smaller! Nothing much going on here...last night's attempts to kick things off have only resulted in diarrhoea so far.

I've now tried:

Raspberry leaf tea
Pineapple
Curry
Walking
Bouncing on my birth ball
Sex
Nipple stimulation
Reflexology
A sweep

Any other suggestions? I am feeling so restless just waiting and waiting...

PerpetualProvocateur · 26/06/2011 11:03

TTL Shock at the discrepancy in your dates! But your EDD now reflects what you believed from charting, right? I know mine is only a five-day difference, but I feel like the wolves are circling in terms of pressuring me regarding induction, and a five-day discrepancy is significant when their concern is based on a 14-day cut-off point!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 26/06/2011 11:20

My EDD from conception and scan are only 1 day out, so this baby is def a week over now. But if I go by DS being 9 months and 1 day from his conception, this LO has until Tuesday (or Weds for the + 1 day).

Looking at that it's hard to believe only a year ago DH announced he'd okayed getting a dog with the LL (meaning I went straight out, bought prenancy vits and booked an appt to have my coil removed. Well he had been warned, we get a dog, we try for another baby). The funny thing is, we still don't have a dog Grin

PP baked beans don't work.... I'm going with the I'm tired and things will happen if I relax, so still in bed, theory.

Hugs for Millie

Good luck with the move Moomin

KaraStarbuckThrace · 26/06/2011 13:43

Millie - mass sympathy for you! I found myself getting very tearful and short tempered near the end, and I also had an increased vaginal discharge abot a couple of weeks before dd was born.

Has been quiet on hear, hope nurse and Jasmine are okay.

Very hot here!

takethatlady · 26/06/2011 14:46

perpetual yes, my scan dates and charting dates match up now, and even if LMP was accurate (which it isn't) that would make me 5 weeks overdue now which I think is pretty doubtful Grin ...

Sorry about your discrepancy, which is much more serious if you're getting pressurised into an induction you don't want. Stick to your guns!

Sorry for all the other ladies waiting. I'm trying to enjoy my due date and the sunshine and my freedom while I still can, but honestly, I'm bored now ...

Hugs for millie :)

OompaLumpa · 26/06/2011 15:54

I have had a baby! Amelie Rose, bon by ELCS on 25 june weighing 7lb 7oz. A difficult pregnancy and birth but very very happy.
Now just need to decide if DD will be known as Amelie or Amelie Rose. Answers on a postcard please Grin

OompaLoompa - congrats on the safe arrival of your little girl, what beautiful names!

MummyofPrawn - there has already been some discussion about applying pineapple to the cervix but no-one has been brave enough to try it!

Mass sympathies to you pg ladies suffering from the heat!
