Millie I had a long lasting contraction last night too. Just the one as far as I know but it did last several minutes longer than I was expecting. If I was timing them there is currently about 4 days between my contractions...at that rate LO will be about 16 before hes born Grin re wind...well, rarely not windy to be honest so cant comment on that but it is a sign of an active gut.

Lots more news of babies being born...why wont mine come out? If anyone else says 'because you've made him such a lovely home' there will be violence!

takethatlady · 21/06/2011 07:50

Grin jasmine. I'm on leave and mainly seeing people I met at antenatal or speaking to family/friends who know better than to say silly things like that. It's DH getting the brunt of it at work. He said he walks around the school and teachers and TAs he's never even met (it's a huge school - 350 teachers) start yelling out 'any news?', 'any signs?' at him Grin. He can't even tell them to bugger right off Grin

motherofsnortpigs · 21/06/2011 07:52

clarkiee I would never bother taking a bottle out, so much easier to whip out a boob. Anyone who doesn't like it can just avert their gaze. I would be seriously worried if the dr had a problem with that. If I had twins, however, I'd probably take a bottle of milk - my coordination skills are rather poor...

motherofsnortpigs · 21/06/2011 08:05

Congratulations joanne and jer Were you at hotel JR, jer ? Maybe we wandered part each other in a sleep deprived haze. jasmine want to come to Little Fishes this morning? Beginning to feel much more human now. Mum is going to clean my house today. DH is back to work - I don't know which of us is more disappointed. 2 weeks has gone so fast. All the snortpigs are well. I think everything is going be ok :) 8rd good luck with the fire engine cake. I've been instructed to make a fairy castle. Apparently, there will also be water sliding in the garden and a ride in an open top sports car!

milliemuffin · 21/06/2011 08:21

Well, that was something and nothing! :(

Moog72 · 21/06/2011 08:30

Morning...

Just a quick note to say my little boy was born yesterday morning. 8 pounds, and we have called him Soren.

He was born at home. Very brief birth story (very brief labour!). My DD was up all night being sick (what timing!) and then at 5am I started getting mild period-type pains and by 6 they were mild but coming every 2-3 minutes so I woke DH. At 6.30 decided to call someone to collect DD (unfortunately this had to be my ex as couldn't really ask anyone else when she was still ill). Called the hospital, still having very mild contractions but coming every 1.5 mins. Midwife arrived at 7.30 to assess and said she'd hang around for an hour in case hings got going (just after DD was collected). Contractions picked up rapidly and by 8am I couldn't tell where one stopped and an other started. Had my TENS on up until that point. Quick VE revealed 7cm dilated - lots of pain so started on the gas and air - love that stuff. Screamed my way through the last few contractions and he was born in one push at 8.35. He is blond and gorgeous and we are besotted of course!

Will catch up later as I think I saw there have been a couple more births! Congratulations!!

takethatlady · 21/06/2011 08:35

Sorry millie :(

Wahey moog!!! Now that's the kind of birth I want. Mild at first, lots of gas and air when it gets tough, and out in one push Grin

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 21/06/2011 08:36

Morning all. Just sitting here reading and let one rip Blush, phoar! it's a good things there is only DS around, cause it ain't lady like!

Congrats on your little girl's arrival Jer.

Clarkiee when DS had his first shots my phone rang at the crucial moment. Took my mind right off my poor little boy being stuck. He still cried though Hmm...

Pleased to hear your feeling more positive today MOSP.

Thanks TTL your kind words made me go a bit wibbley. Fingers crossed please everyone, that someone gets back to DH today. He bugged everyone he could think of yesterday, so hopefully someone will talk to his shrink and get back to him (cause I'd really like to be able to go into labour and get my ability to sit, stand, lie down etc back!)

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 21/06/2011 08:38

X-post Moog Congratulations! Big soppy Grin

Moog72 · 21/06/2011 08:39

TTL I do feel very lucky to have had such a short labour - fx for the same for you! I pity the neighbours during that last half an hour though!!

jasmine51 · 21/06/2011 08:42

Moog congrats - that sounds like a lovely birth although you may not agree atm! Welcome to Soren.

MOSP Thanks for the invite - I cant come out to play this morning but dont have anything planned for rest of week...may go to aquanatal tmz if I can bear the 'you're still here' comments though.

Off now to find some more recipes for unfeasibly hot food....

Clarkiee · 21/06/2011 09:04

Congratulations moog

Yeah don't mind whipping out a boob mothersnortpigs but like you say whipping out two is not as easy. I've been feeding them together but can only do it on the couch using cushoins as props Smile

motherofsnortpigs · 21/06/2011 09:13

Well done moog Yay for speedy home births! jasmine pity you can't come out; some fool has given me all the biscuits to take down :)

motherofsnortpigs · 21/06/2011 09:17

Hats off to you clarkiee I've looked at the pics of tandem feeding twins and it looks complicated. When I tandem fed the DD'S, DD1 was 18 months and could unhook my bra by herself!

curiouselle · 21/06/2011 09:21

Morning all!

Congratulations Moog on baby Soren - like takethat says; sounds like a quick fab birth, please send it my way! (stealing birth vibes emoticon).

Clarkie well done on getting through injections, I hadn't even thought that far ahead, I can't believe you are doing 8 weeks injections and some of us are still wondering if our feet are ok under our bumps Grin so bizarre!

Labella gooseberries terrified the toilet but had little other impact. Under DH's crazy eagerness direction have now eaten much spicy food, gooseberries, 2 tins of pineapple, been driven over speed bumps often, bounced for hours on birth ball, had nipples stimulated, had sex and the other thing Blush as well as crying in hysterical belly clenching laughter last night after DH flicked my now outty belly button - and still nothing. Part of me thinks it might not happen... stupid I know but I feel less pregnant now than ever Hmm strange!

fingers are firmly crossed confessions hope your DH gets some news and you get to relax!

HalleLouja · 21/06/2011 09:45

Moog congrats on the arrival of your little boy. Quick labours are great. Although I was shaking for a little while after mine.

Who is next? Do we still have a list or is it just the one on fb?

crazychic141187 · 21/06/2011 09:49

Just a quick one to say Maisie Angel was born at 7.25 this morning and is absolutely gorgeous!!

moomin156 · 21/06/2011 09:58

Wow congratulations to the new arrival. Fantastic news.

halle i havent updated the list recently but the one on fb is upto date......

curiouselle · 21/06/2011 09:59

neenewps · 21/06/2011 10:17

Congratulations to joanne, jer, moog and crazy lots of babies now :o

mosp hope you have a lovely day out today. The weather is absolutely awful up here today so I am going to have a wimbledon day which pretty much involves me sitting on the sofa, not doing much else!!

coaf I'm so sorry to read about the problems your DH currently has. It must be so difficult for you. I hope he gets to speak to someone very soon and that life becomes less stressful as a result.

merlion hope you are having a lovely time with your Mum visiting.

nurse How are you feeling about Thursday? All ok I hope. How exciting that Thursday or Friday you will have your little Jasmine in your arms.

almighty hope that things have moved along for you now. How the hell are you expected to last a labour on that amount of food :(

Haven't seen 8RD for a few posts... don't tell me you have deserted me??!!!

AlmightyCitrus · 21/06/2011 10:28

Another day, and "we'll take you down at 6am" means I'm still sat here. However.....seems junior may have his/her own opinion and might be making their own way out! Definitely having contractions now, but sadly still not allowed food. I could eat a scabby dog!
