Naomi hadn't pooh for 4 days (apparently quite normal for a breast fed baby Shock) so when the trumps turned into wet sounding ones (TMI?) I called DH into the room. We flipped a 'who changes the nappy coin' and he lost- Happy Fathers Day he he Smile

KaraStarbuckThrace · 19/06/2011 19:28

Poo frequency can vary enormously for breastfed babies to every few hours to every few days, trust me to be cursed with the former - DS was the same!!

takethatlady · 19/06/2011 19:30

Yay almighty I hope it's the real thing! I second what everyone else says notoast - I definitely think you should raise this with somebody, even though you're happy now and everything turned out well. Glad you got better aftercare :)

Argh I'm sorry to always be on here with my silly paranoid worries. Wiped today and there was bright red blood. Then a little bit pf blood in my underwear a couple of hours later, though when I wiped again there was nothing. Wearing a pad now but it's such a tiny amount it's not registering on the pad, so I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. I don't think I can face trundling off down to the hospital AGAIN and am hoping it's just the start of the show or something. No sign of any contractions or anything. Argh!

HalleLouja · 19/06/2011 19:53

Not got time to catch up properly.

Barbie I am going to raise something with the hospital about my labour. Not a complaint just areas of concern I had. Well I had bleeding prior to waters braking and was officially premature and was left with a monitor and no one really checking the progress of my labour. The joys of giving birth and not being treated well.

TTL any sign of bright red blood and phone the delivery suite - you should be checked over.

Congrats to any new babies. Need to read and see what is going on.

HalleLouja · 19/06/2011 20:03

On another note one of my local baby shops has a page on FB - if they get 750 likes they will be doing 15% off and they do delivery via their website so you can order online. I am not on commission Wink

Hi all,

been reading all day and congratulations to all those who have had babies!

Just a quick one to say im still in the club but induction starts tomorow so fingers crossed my baby will be here soon!

Wish me luck!

AlmightyCitrus · 19/06/2011 21:40

Still sat here. Looks like I'll have to keep my fingers crossed for a quiet day here tomorrow so there is a space for me. I'm getting cabin fever cooped up here all day and I hate not having dh to cuddle at night (sap alert...someone give me a slap). On a plus note, I'm not half reading a lot! Good job I've got a kindle!

magentastardust · 19/06/2011 23:21

Hello great hearing about all the new babies! Have been following the thread especially during the last few weeks of impatience! I went into labour on Friday and dc3 was born 1 week late on Saturday -we have a little girl named Zara. She is just lovely and her older brother and sister are fascinated!!
Birth was pretty quick and went quite similar to dc2s. Active labour was only about 4 hrs and was quite intense and sore but got through it with lots and lots of gas and air! Midwife unit was very busy so we were left alone alot the staff kept apologising and were lovely but just very short staffed -poor Dh had a bit of a time of it worrying he would be completely alone at pushing time! He was handed a buzzer and told to buzz lots when the I was really pushing! I would have been very panicky if this had been my first birth . However main thing is she is here Safe and well and we are now at home enjoying our family of fiveSmile good luck to everyone else waiting -you will be holding your little ones before you know it!

takethatlady · 19/06/2011 23:24

Congratulations magenta - great story (if a bit scary!) and beautiful name :) Good luck almighty, I really hope things get going soon.

Not got the bleeding checked - I've had it on and off through pregnancy, the baby is moving fine, and it's still a very very minimal amount. Getting tightenings at top of tummy and have a back ache, so I reckon this is all just preparation for labour. Hoping that means it will be sometime this week :)

CitizenOscar · 20/06/2011 02:31

Hello all. Thanks for asking after Rafael Kara. he's kind of feeding now - feeding quite well on one side (just been on for over an hour - how much colostrum can one little baby need?!) but not at all the other side (we both have cannulas getting in the way) so am expressing that side. But he's so sleepy & rarely seems hungry at the moment. They think he may have an infection which might explain it. Other than that he seems healthy. Think it might also be due to the hours after birth - I had to go under general anaesthetic to sort out emergency bleeding situation after delivering the placenta so we didn't get time together til a few hours after birth. I don't know, hopefully we'll work it out together and until then all his tests are coming back healthy and he's a good size so should be ok for now... [trying not to worry too much face]. reluctant to wake him up every 2 hours for a feed he doesn't seem to want though...

Sorry to hear about some of the less than helpful staff people have encountered. We had one midwife throughout my delivery and she was amazing - so lucky! But when I went in to be checked to see if I was ready to deliver, I was left for ages having contractions every 2-3 mins because there was only one person doing triage. When she suggested we sit in the waiting room, DH pointed out that I couldn't sit anywhere I was in so much pain. Turned out I was 6-7cm dilated and ready to go! When I'd
phoned they weren't even that keen for me to come in...

Anyway, better have something to eat and catch 40 winks while I can (probably get 15 winks at best but got to try!)...

Thinking of all the new mums, dads & babies, as well as those still waiting for their babies to make an appearance.

AlmightyCitrus · 20/06/2011 06:50

I had a late night visit from the doctors. Hopefully I'll be going between 8 and 9 this morning. Not quite sure how to feel when they said "and we've got a full surgical team on standby...."
Fingers crossed I don't need them. Wish me luck ladies!

crazychic141187 · 20/06/2011 08:25

Good luck citrus we both might get out babies today Grin

takethatlady · 20/06/2011 08:35

Aw sorry - good luck crazychic too :)!

jasmine51 · 20/06/2011 08:51

Good luck Crazy and Almighty.

Joanne, you out there?

No news here Sad MW phoned me last night - she has just got back off holiday and had phoned the delivery suite to tick off all her ladies who had delivered whilst she was away and I 'seemed to be the only one missing'. That really cheered me up, grrrrrr. Anyway, booked in for another sweep on Thursday and 'whatever else we can do'....not sure what shes planning but if she's lighting a fire to smoke it out it would fine with me.

8rubberduckies · 20/06/2011 08:55

Good luck to citrus and crazychic!

Congratulations magenta as well Smile

curiouselle · 20/06/2011 09:14

Good Morning all!

Thank You for the replies about my seemingly not anything at all twinges on Sat! My due date is tomorrow (tho I think Wednesday from my calculations) and we are already really impatient. Sadly I am the kind of person who is never late in life and feel like it is some sort of failure if I am so I am trying to control nature Blush.

DH is SUPER eager and sneakily put chilli oil on my tea, makes me constantly bounce on the space hopper birth ball, eat pineapple, tries to play with my nipples and last night drove me down as many roads he could find with speed bumps. He made me get out of bed on Saturday morning as I'd "been lying down too long and gravity doesn't work that way!" God help us if I am over due by a long way!

I have a midwife app on Thursday, will she offer a sweep?

Good news is that the new birthing centre opened today - www.metroradio.co.uk/news/birthing-centre/ which looks really nice, so am hoping I get in there! they are more relaxed and friendly than the consulting ward upstairs.

prisoner Congratulations on the arrival of baby Cormac (love the name). I was gutted I didn't have baby in time for fathers day! Glad your nips are doing well, have listened to advice about creams and pads!

Sasa You have got me thinking about slings, I like them and was considering getting on once baby is here. I like the look of the fabric ones, would you say that getting one cheap off eBay is ok?

knackered after Dexter's massively impressive arrival into the world, I hope he is doing well and all of you are recovering after the experience!

Notoast and Barbie what intense birthing stories, you both seem to have handled things in the best ways possible (am very proud). As someone else pointed out, thank you for sharing. I have spoken about both your stories with my Mum and DH so we feel prepared just incase anything similar happens. I hope you both get some form of feedback that helps you (or at least changes things in the future).

Almighty thinking of you - hope things go well today!

Perpetual hope it turned into proper contractions and you are breathing right now Wink

Gillizz take it easy with all that running around - get somebody in to help and have a rest!

nurse hope the itching is not too bad and you have found something to ease it, my friend had OC and is driven mad on a night time, but it doesn't sound as bad as your suffering and not knowing what it is must be infuriating - hug!

takethat I hope the bleeding has stopped and your are feeling more relaxed!

magenta Congratulations on Zara, and to you and DH for handling it almost independently Smile

Jasmine I am sending you (and anyone else that wants them) baby come out vibes!

I am sorry to anyone I have missed out! Hope all are well Smile
This has taken ages to write so apologies now for cross posts!

motherofsnortpigs · 20/06/2011 09:14

We have some amazingly strong women and babies on this thread. The birth stories are all incredible for different reasons. I am still emotionally all over the place. I had another good chat with my mw yesterday who reminded me that taking codeine can make you a bit paranoid. She didn't recommend I stopped it, though. My pelvis was very stretched during birth and my ligaments are slowly mending. I basically still have PGP/SPD, but worse than before I was pg - at least I can take the drugs. Percy is fine. DS1 is very cute around him and managed a close approximation of 'new baby' on the phone to his grandma. Waiting for my parents to come over and take DS1 out for the day. They stayed at a hotel last night and DD2 stayed with them so they have to take her to pre-school first. I'm hoping for a last quiet day with DH - he's back to work tomorrow!

FX for you too supersunny :) Had a bad night - if I turn to my side there's a really sharp pressure in my fanjo, but can't sleep on my back. Thought i got some sleep but DH said I was a wriggly nightmare and I'm knackered now. Bleeding settled back down though, which is good.

Grin at your DH curiouselle Grin. Very sweet he's so excited. I'm trying to make the most of peace and quiet and ability to use both my hands at all times and focus on the positives. I can't let myself get impatient at 39+1 or I'll be off my rocker by the due date!

I echo mosn - amazing ladies and babies on this thread :) Sorry you're feeling down mosn - no advice here but a big hug :)

Labella77 · 20/06/2011 10:54

They don't do alot but they take up all your time dont' they!! i'd completely forgotten.
I hope everyone is doing well, i have to confess i have hardly read any of the posts there seems so much that i have missed, 6 days in hospital and then a few days in bed with no internet.
Quick birth story for you all then,
was due for induction on the 10th at 8:30am finally got a bed at 9:30pm where was given prostglandin or whatever its called, did nothing. next day another one and a few sweeps - not a thing. Day three broke waters, stared on the synto drip, 9 hours of contractions and i had only dilated 3cms so decided to have c-section. wasn't as bad as i thought it would be - the contractions, not the c. section is as bad as i thought, can do nothing and am a bit depresed by it, DD is sad mummy can't pick her up, i've got an infection and still a week later massively swollen and rattling with all the drugs i have to take, including injecting myself 2ce a day. But i have the most stunning little feller, Barnaby, who is a guzzle monster and so far sleeps for 3 to 4 hour stretches, not bad. Milk came in the other day and i look like Lola Ferrari, owchie.
I am now going to read all sbout your babies and who is still waiting.

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 20/06/2011 11:30

Nothing doing here. Just being quite becuase I'm exhausted. Went to the supermarket on Saturday, twas a bad idea I think. Ended up in bed all day yesterday and am feeling really breathless and tired today too. Still eating like a freaking pig and not looking forward to shop day tomorrow.

Have been reading about all the new babies and birth stories and feeling a bit odd about not being impatient now that I'm officially overdue.

Sorry for lack of individual replies. I am thinking of all of you, just don't have the brain power to be very coherent.

PS TTL I still say you'll go before me

KaraStarbuckThrace · 20/06/2011 11:41

Awww Labella - sorry to hear you are having problems with your cs :( IKWYM about the boobs though, I have had similar! Good to hear Barnaby is thriving :)

Almighty - fingers crossed for you!!

Couriselle - {grin] at your DH, he sounds even more enthusiastic than mine was. My advice is don't drink any milkshakes he gives you...

Jasmine - agree that MW was very tactless! Good luck with the sweep, hope it gets something going!

Magenta - congrats!! I can't believe that they left you and your DH alone in the pushing stage though! Were they really busy or something? Think my DH would have reacted as yours!

crazychic141187 · 20/06/2011 11:54

I'm on the induction ward and have just had my examination to see if I need the pessary! Good news is that my cervix has opened enough this weekend for me to have my waters broke. Woohoo!!
Just waiting for a bed on labour ward now to get things going a bit more!
