Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Barbie that's shockingly bad treatment - I would definitely complain. Your poor DH as well.

8rd hope you are feeling a little more rested and that everything is staying put.

Almighty she really is crazy bag lady - hoping things finally start moving for you.

MOSP hope you get some rest too and be kind to yourself you've been through a really worrying time with Percy hopefully things will start looking up from here on.

Labour vibes to everyone else in the waiting room.

DH just set off for the airport to pick my Mum up - yay!

jasmine51 · 18/06/2011 07:19

Barbie dont worry about scaring those of us in the waiting room. The birth stories, however bad are all really useful for us to mull over and prepare for if it happens to us. I made DH read your story and we had a really useful discussion about his role and how he could support me in that situation, so thankyou.

8 sounds like you have had a horrible time too, hope you are feeling better now.

Amighty hang on in there, it has to happen eventually.

Joanne can you get any back relief from a massgae or a hot pad? it sounds really painful.

Well, nothing going on here except I've stil got mucky bleeding from my sweep. Its now brown and mixed with a bit of mucus (sorry, stop eating breakfast now) which could be a bit of show too but its also a bit smelly so I'll be toddling off to beg for a checkup later...from a MW that is and not some random stranger!

Its going to be 'intersting' in Jasmine towers today, or more accurately, tonight. We live in a very small village and there are 2 large marquee based parties going on less than 100 yards from here. One is a Barmitzpha for 200 people with live band and fireworks. The other is a 21st 'burlesque' themed party for 150 with 3 live bands and a DJ til 3am! I'm not going to go down the angry pg lady route and am going to try and enjoy the chaos but I dont suppose there will alot of quality sleep available tonight. Bump likes music so maybe he'll be inspired to come out and join the party?

motherofsnortpigs · 18/06/2011 07:46

I'm just imagining the scene when the Jewish granny accidently gate crashes the 21st, drinks the unidentified cocktail that consists almost entirely of vodka, and finishes the night wearing a basque and a feather boa. Keep the camera handy jasmine

Joannezipan · 18/06/2011 07:51

Morning all,

Jas maybe you could suggest that the neighbours might like to put you up in a hotel for the night. Small cost when compared to those parties.

Well not much sleep has been had here overnight. I might have to hibernate again. I'm not going to the damn wedding though!

motherofsnortpigs · 18/06/2011 07:52

8rd your tummy bug ordeal sounds truly awful. I hope you are on the mend and can focus on building yourself back up for labour.

jasmine51 · 18/06/2011 08:00

MOSP lol, yes the opportunities for a classic english village farce are endless! I would just love to have a home birth in the middle of it to a mashup of Lady Marmalade and Hava Nagila!

Joannezipan · 18/06/2011 08:28

TMI warning! Oh this is exciting I just had a big snotty old blood coloured show Grin something is going to happen! The question now is when? Anyone think I should start timing the back aches or is that a bit anal?

jasmine51 · 18/06/2011 08:30

Joanne yay for snotty mucus!

jasmine51 · 18/06/2011 08:48

Joanne ooooo, guess what, just had a wee...me too! Wanna race?

Joannezipan · 18/06/2011 08:59

Jasmine you're on!

DH is downstairs playing with preparing the hoses for birth pool filling and emptying. He has been completely fixated on them for weeks. Hmm

jasmine51 · 18/06/2011 09:06

Joanne I cant remember, this is your first, right? If not I demand a head start or at least a handicap system! No backaches here though so think you might be faster out of the blocks than me. Do you think it was the thai curry we passed around last night?

My dh is playing with the 5ft 'Its a Boy' flag I bought him to go with his flag pole which is going to be raised once we have our LO safely!

Moog72 · 18/06/2011 09:35

oo Jasmine and Joanne - how exciting - keep us posted on your progress! I am a little Envy as am 4 days past due date here and NOTHING is happening!! Time is going soooo slowly.... :(

Joannezipan · 18/06/2011 09:38

It is my first LO. So no handicap for you Jasmine :op The flag sounds like fun, can we see a picture once it's flying proud?
DH has now gone out to stock up on "essentials" and buy another hosepipe! How can one man need 25m of hose?
I'm glad to be off the hook wrt the wedding. DH is happy not to go after I woke him up to show him the mucus plug. Grin

crazychic141187 · 18/06/2011 11:34

Day eleven is here and baby is going to get charged rent soon!!

petitech · 18/06/2011 11:40

Good luck those with snotty shows, thinking of you :) x

KaraStarbuckThrace · 18/06/2011 13:52

Just realised that in my last post I meant to say 85% epidural not induction, but I think you get what I meant! Anyway catching up now, these babies coming thick and fast!

TTL - rest when you can!! And get some Lovehearts for the heartburn!

MOSP - glad you and Percy are back home, but sorry to hear of the additional problems that have been found, hopefully they will be minor and easily correctable. Yey for your DH fixing your laptop!

Jimper - congrats on your baby girl, sorry you had a difficult birth and hope your DH was not too disappointed at missing it, it couldn't be helped. Hopefully the three of you are now having lots of snuggly time together.

Jasmine - ahhh boys and their toys Grin You'll have to put the picture on your profile when the special flag is flying!

Nurse - poor you Sad Sending you a big hug, hope your meeting on Monday has a positive outcome.

PP - sounds like thing may kick off any time! DD's head was 2/5 palpable until a few hours before delivery...

Tabitha - I am sorry I think I missed your birth annoucement, congratulations!

Joanne - I feel your pain, the back ache is a bitch isn't it? Did you get your curry? That and the show sounds promising! What a shame you can't go to that wedding Wink

Sarah - hope you are okay, 37 hours!! Hoping things have kicked off for you properly now.

Crumble - congratulations and what beautiful names!! Sympathies on the lack of sleep!!

Confessions - how is your DH now? Is he any better?

Barbie - You experience sounded like mine, however my MWs were far more sympathetic, am Angry they were so dismissive of you. I also can relate to the how not know when I was in labour, am relieved that it wasn't just me!We'd go to the point where DH did not wanting me going home as he feared the baby would be delivered by a paramedic! But you now have your beautiful DD Smile

8rd - how scary for you! I hope you are feeling better and that the baby is okay!

Almighty - Sad you are still waiting, and Shockat mental friend!!

Merlion - , hope your mum had a good flight. Mine is coming up on the train on Tuesday. Think she is a bit over excited, she sent me a card saying "congratulations on your new baby granddaughter" Grin

Jasmine - oh dear you are not going to have a quiet night! I supposed at least they are happening on the same day and not spread over a couple! Your village sounds like a great place for a TV show Grin And yey on the show!!

AlmightyCitrus · 18/06/2011 14:16

I've got a bouncy ball now, and been given a super emergency button which is like a siren rather than the usual call button. There have been some changes and I've had a sweep which seems to be Erm...shifting stuff! I've had a lovely midwife today who has explained everything properly, rather than just breezing in and out with tests and instructions. Bounce bounce bounce...

8rubberduckies · 18/06/2011 14:36

Can I join in the race Jasmine amd Joanne? Grin Snotty show here too this morning. I may be on the back blocks though as I don't think it is the whole plug.

Feeling lots better today thanks everyone, and I have managed to eat a bit.

PerpetualProvocateur · 18/06/2011 15:42

I'm in the race too...no plugs that I know of, but I may be finally having proper contractions. I was getting regular (5-7 minutes) contractions for quite a while last night, but it may have just been intense BHs again, as I was eventually able to go to sleep. But getting more intense ones now with way more cramps and pressure accompanying.

Good luck ladies!

PerpetualProvocateur · 18/06/2011 15:44

By the way, thanks for sharing your birth story Barbie. I'm really Shock at how you were treated. Good thing you relied on your own instincts!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 18/06/2011 16:16

How exciting... so there could be up to 5 more babies joining us very soon!!!
Go Almighty!! Go Jasmine!! Go TTL!! Go 8rd!! Go PP!! Go Joanne!!

Which reminds me - PELVIC FLOOR girls!!

8rubberduckies · 18/06/2011 16:26

Been Googling "Mucous shows" (what is the 8rubberduckies world coming to?) and looks like some women don't go into labour for anything up to a couple of weeks after having a show Sad.... "34% of women reported that they had lost their show around 2 days prior to labour starting, with a further 30% who lost the show during labour and 17.65% who never saw their show at all! The remaining percent lost their show 1-2 weeks before labour started. So if your show makes an appearance, you can be assured things will be on their way very soon, but be careful not to get too excited and tell everyone â?? you just might find the super frequent phone calls and unexpected visits a little overwhelming!"

curiouselle · 18/06/2011 16:27

I know there are loads of replies I should be doing as loads has happened and I am thinking of you all - but wanted to be cheeky and jump in with a question! have been having easy time of it, not even bh so have no comparisons. Am 39 +4 today been getting low intense stabbing pains and mild needing poo pains (which I havent) feeling hot and a little spaced out, is this normal nearing end of pregnancy stuff or does it mean anything? had no show or waters break. thank you girls!!!

milliemuffin · 18/06/2011 17:07

With 6 ladies all in labour already I think it's doubtful anything will happen for me today!

Curiouselle I've had days with all 3 of mine like you've mentioned and for me it didn't mean anything but that's not to say it doesn't mean something for you! Got my fingers crossed for you and everyone else, wonder if we'll have a baby by the end of the day?

Joannezipan · 18/06/2011 17:32

Just a quick update. The MW is on her way to see me now, the contractions are about 7 mins apart. They do hurt but they are not completely unbearable though so maybe I'm not in established labour yet. I hope so though because the back ache isn't always going away in between. Bit concerned that there is only 2 MW on call tonight instead of 4 so I might have to go into hospital. Sad
