alibaba76 · 09/06/2011 10:20

So glad that Morgan is doing well, great that she was breathing on her own so soon - congratulations Wishwales xx

daisysair · 09/06/2011 10:23

welcome to the world Morgan hope your mummy gets to have cuddles asap!!

Annie456 · 09/06/2011 10:40

Congratulations wishwales! So pleased that she is doing well-fingers crossed you don't have to wait too long for the cuddle!

Insomnia is officially killing me! I can't handle another 3 months of this (which it will be by the time I go overdue!) anyone got any magic cures? Having the bed to myself would help but I cant send DH to the air bed just yet (can I?) .
Having 2 days off a week is something I'm struggling to adjust to...don't know what to do with myself. And being so tired is making me so grumpy! Sorry for the moan xx

KLou111 · 09/06/2011 10:46

Congratulation Wishwales and to your DH/DP, and welcome to the world Morgan!!!! Hope you get lots of cuddles soon!!! Sounds like she's doing really well. Just told my DH you have had her and he almost went white with fear lol!! (Got a lot to do at home yet)

Well, I am really pissed off now. Flaming puppy (15 weeks) has become a right houdini and keeps going into the field at the back of our house. Long grass so can't really see her when she goes. It's not farmed or anything, just left, so we kind of use it as an extension to our garden. Anyway, all that is separating the field from us is 1 strand of barbed wire at about a foot high cos the farmer is a lazy sod. We've got bits of cattle fencing blocking off where she can get out, but she found a way. Anyway, just ran after her trying to get out, tripped over the barbed wire, and landed smack on my left side and on the left of bump. Now I am so worried. Have felt bubs slightly since (fell about 30 mins ago) but I am so Angry not just at puppy but at myself esp as I went in Monday due to lack of movements etc. I have been so careful too, but I just want baby out now as I am so scared of something going wrong!!

Welcome Morgan, and congratulations WishWales - our first arrival!!

Had an early midwife's appointment this morning and as suspected my bump has really grown in the last couple of weeks. At 28 weeks I was measuring 30cm, now at 32 weeks I am measuring between 36-37 cm. Neither she or I are at all concerned (rather too big than too small) - I measured big with my DD and she was only 8lb 5oz so hopefully this one will be about the same.

Funny thing was when she put her hand on my bump to measure me Dirk gave her an enourmous kick and continued to do so until she had finished. She laughed a lot and said it had been many months since she had been kicked so much and said it was a good sign of a healthy baba.

Annie456 · 09/06/2011 11:14

Oh no klou you poor thing. I read that our bodies are designed for us being so clumsy in late pregnancy and the baby would be well protected from most things. And it's good that you are feeling movements. but maybe call your midwife and see what she thinks? If it's going to worry you then you might as well get checked out. I guess you should imagine you hadn't been to the hospital earlier in the week, would you go and get checked now? Don't consider the fact that you've already been in. Xx

WinterLover · 09/06/2011 11:19

KLou agree with Annie please call midwife, she may tell you to monitor movements/pain etc but at least she's aware of it...

Anu3 · 09/06/2011 11:35

Wow, congratulations wishwales and welcome little Morgan! So glad to hear you are both well! Isint that officially our first arrival? :)

Klou - I agree with Annie and Winter - Please call the MW just so you dont worry about it too much. Im sure little bubba is ok in there but you'd just be at ease if you checked it out.

DH took me up to the Kiddie care store on Tuesday and have done a bit of shopping since then! We have finally closed in on a Bugaboo Bee Plus travel system (the babystyle oyster was slightly bulkier!) - i want this one and we found a great offer for $575 for the bee+ along with a maxi cosi car seat, car seat spapters and carry cot (cocoon) www.justkiddingonline.co.uk/bugaboo-bee-limited-edition-sun-canopy-deep-purple.ir?cName=-bugaboo-deals

Do you think Deep purple is a neutral colour to get? Its either this one of then Red! What do you think?

Anu3 · 09/06/2011 11:36

ok that should read £575 not $ 575!! :) sorry!

KLou111 · 09/06/2011 11:40

Just had a cup of tea to calm me down a bit, and DH concerned too. Anyway, put quite a bit of sugar in too, and bubba been moving loads, so I think all should be OK. Am really annoyed as usually I would have had my regular AN 31 week appointment today, but can't get me in til next Thursday at 32 weeks, so I would have been going in today anyway!

Congrats wishwales, so pleased to hear little Morgan is doing well!

I had my 32 week MW appt yesterday and all was fine, head down at present and feeling lots of kicks/movements today. Started the ante-natal class this week which as a first timer is something I have been looking forward to, and was quite fun and informative, looking at birth plans next week, eek!

Still not got my pram! undecided on practicality vs price, was looking at the mamas and papas sola and luna and also baby style oyster, too many options, aaahhhh! Finally decided on nursery furniture so at least that is sorted.

Hopefully going away for a few days next week to west coast Scotland if weather is okay, looking forward to just chilling out and not having to think about prams and the like!

Hope everyone is okay x

konatsu · 09/06/2011 11:58

Klou111, happy to hear that your baby is moving a lot and you are better now. For a piece of mind could you go to ER?

Anu3, purple is a lovely colour but maybe for a neutral one I would opt for red.Smile

LifeOfKate · 09/06/2011 12:09

Congratulations Wishwales :o

neverlookback · 09/06/2011 12:28

Congratulations Wishwales so glad shes doing well and u r too xxxx

I drank raspberry leaf tea 1st time and found it ok from around 36 weeks i was still 11 days over but the midwife said i pushed her out in 3 pushes because it makes ur cervix and muscles nice and strong but ive not heard this anywhere else, i had the tablets 2nd time as could not stand the tea and was 14 days over but pushing part was quick so i really dont know, ill prob have a bash this time too just because ive done that before.

Ive always hired a tens mc too for in labour and think that has really helped me manage with only G&A, only used the tens in first stages tho it gets really itchy and annoying after a few hours!

my other tip is Dr Brown Bottles!

aStarInStrangeways · 09/06/2011 13:01

wishwales fantastic news, hooray and welcome to the world baby Morgan :) Here's hoping you're cuddling her and starting your life as a family asap.

Firawla I didn't mind the taste of RLT either - like you, drank it from about 35 weeks and it may have helped (hard to quantify these things Grin). It did give me wicked heartburn though, but hey, so did everything else by that stage.

I also used a TENS in the first part of labour and found it very helpful indeed. You have to put it on as soon as contractions start, rather than when they get regular/painful, so your body can start producing the endorphins or whatever it is that happens.

Hope I didn't get too technical there Grin

Had 32 week growth scan and everything seems normal. Baby's weight is estimated at 4.4lb, which I'm happy with.

RugbyWidow7 · 09/06/2011 13:03

Congratulations WishWales - how exciting! Our first thread birth!!!

Re raspberry leaf tea, is it supposed to make the baby come earlier or make labour quicker? Sorry, I did research this months ago but have forgotten. I'd like to be late to take us into the next school year, but would need to be 11 days over, so not sure how likely that is. Plus, I'm sure I'll change my tune in a couple of months. A woman in the supermarket asked me when I was due and said she'd always hated being the youngest in her year Sad.

Klou, keep you chin up, you're doing great. Mini setback but sounds like everything's ok with the baby so don't worry yourself any more. I know it's hard. Hugs! Brew

MrsVidic · 09/06/2011 13:05

Klou- I fell down the stairs this time last preg and Mw told me to go in if change of movements or bleeding. I was fine and so was baby.

Wishwales- congratulations

WinterLover · 09/06/2011 13:06

Thanks Never and aStar Ive picked up some tea to start in the next couple of weeks as I dont know when Il be back in town again, then will maybe go onto the tablets around 37 weeks as they suggest..

Its weird up until now all ive thought is pregnancy, now im 30w my mind has shifted to 'oh crap the birth' and making sure I have everything ready

aStarInStrangeways · 09/06/2011 13:16

RugbyWidow it's meant to sort of tone up your uterus/cervix, making contractions stronger and more efficient. So it won't bring on labour any earlier but might make it quicker.

RugbyWidow7 · 09/06/2011 13:21

Oh ok, thanks aStar sounds like a good idea. I'll pop out and get some over the next few weeks. Anything to help with the birth!

CappuccinoCarrie · 09/06/2011 13:30

Congrats wishwales, we look forward to updates (and photos!), really hope you're recovering well from the birth too :)

neverlookback · 09/06/2011 14:12

winter i had a moment of realisation last night as i was lay in bed looking at the pic of the 4D scan and i suddenly thought "oh god i have to get it out" !!! Before i had any dc's i was petrified of giving birth cant believe im going to do it for the 3rd time!

WinterLover · 09/06/2011 14:21

Never DP has taken to getting anything head sized and saying 'just think thats got to come out' I have threatened that I will be inserting the next item he picks up somewhere very very painful....

Its my first so have nothing to compare it too, not sure if thats a good or a bad thing

WinterLover · 09/06/2011 14:44

Quick question...

Im planning on breastfeeding but im going to get a few bottles anyway as If im sucessful I will express later on.. but is it worth getting some of the ready prepared formula just incase I cant/struggle to breastfeed so that DP and I dont have to rush around when we get home..
