Our old thread ran out of space! The horror!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
vallinnapod · 25/05/2011 14:26

Well done B2B I got some breastpads and Lanolin cream from Medela from a competition I don't remember entering Smile

Baby2b · 25/05/2011 14:40

I never win anything normally so was really surprised. Has anyone heard of them? Might need to check the nappy board for reviews.

brassica cowboy should have been induced yesterday. It's all very exciting :)

Val well done on your comp winning to. My first thought was 'when did I buy these?'. Not a good sign, lol.

To go back to the resusable nappy front. I think I have done too much research and got confused with all the options. Confused Are u guys usig flips at night too?

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 25/05/2011 14:41

I for one will be quite happy if I don't get any internals! The thought of anyone furkling around down there leaves my spine cold... Confused

nickelbabe · 25/05/2011 15:57

I agree, Katee - i don't like internals - it's just I fel it's an unnecessary invasion.

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 25/05/2011 16:16

After reading the days posts, all I can think is ohh BB someone else who might manage to go before me Grin If you and TTL go early and steal the spotlight, then I can just waddle along at my own snails pace with no pressure

Wonder how Cowboy is doing.

takethatlady · 25/05/2011 16:50

On the subject of 'internals', they're sticking pineapples up their fanjos on the June thread Grin

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 25/05/2011 17:12

I started laughing when I saw this thread TTL (before putting my 2 cents worth in Grin)

nickelbabe · 25/05/2011 17:26
Grin
Baby2b · 25/05/2011 17:34

Grin awesome thread

takethatlady · 25/05/2011 18:38

Grin Grin Grin

EIGHT pineapples in one go?!!! (Eating, not shoving Grin)

I don't want to laugh too hard because I'm sure in five weeks time I'll be shoving anything up there I can, in the hope of fishing the baby out Grin

vallinnapod · 25/05/2011 19:27

LOL at the pineapples! I eat so many that I can already tell you that you would have to eat a tonne to go into labour! Must eat the equivalent of one a day!

Envy at your 7 weeks BB so soon for twin bubby snuggles Smile

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 26/05/2011 08:59

I got my bum geniuses this morning, boy they are cute Grin had the whole office cooing over them, tee hee!

Slightly Shock this morning, woke up to a small wet patch on the bed, turns out my right boob is leaking Shock I was expecting it to happen at some point, but probably not until after the 6 month mark! Explains why my nipples have been so blimmin sore though.

How is everyone this morning? Any news from cowboy?

nickelbabe · 26/05/2011 10:14

my nipples have gone crusty. (tmi Wink )
it's like in puberty, where they'd randomly get a crust - i assume leakage?
I remember picking off the dried stuff when I was a teenager and making my nipples very very sore indeed, so I'm not doing that this time....

vallinnapod · 26/05/2011 11:04

Ewwwwww Nickel Wink

25+5 here and no leakage yet - although that's probably jinxed it! Incredibly itchy boobs and nipples in particular!

Katee I too woke up in a wet patch. Not as fun as it sounds as for some reason I appear to be dribbling (fron my nouth I should add...!) constantly throughout the night. Cue waking up with hair plastered to my face with dried spit. Plus during the night the bump shifts all to one side and looks very alien like. Poor DH must think he has woken up next to Quasimodo (sp?!)!

Baby2b · 26/05/2011 11:04

I havn't had any boob leakage at all. Starting to feel left out, hee hee.

katee what kind of bum genious did u get? I am on the look out for a good deal for them. Though still slightly swayed towards tots bots.

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 26/05/2011 11:09

B2B I got a mixture, just to see what they were like (babame had (still have?) an offer on) so I got BOGOF on newborn size which are teeny tiny, and probably won't fit! One V4 AIO and one of the organic ones. They all seem really soft and cuddly.

I've also bought some second hand tots bots from the used nappies board (still some left if you're interested) 2 fluffles and 2 bamboozles for £3 each.

Better still, a very kind lady has offered me 20 motherease for free from freecycle, so as you can imagine I bit her arm off!

So I think I'm about sorted, I may still get a few more bum genius ones to have some posh ones from time to time, and I need to get some more wraps (thinking tots bots for those as they are nice and bright). Not bad eh?

nickelbabe · 26/05/2011 11:24

but i haven't had any wet leakage, just this crustiness.

but that's hormones, I'm guessing.
It doesn't look nic, though.

vallinna eewwwwwwwwwwwwww

katee not bad at all. good haul. Grin

Baby2b · 26/05/2011 11:26

Oh, well done. I need to get on some of these boards. 20 motherease for free is amazing.

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 26/05/2011 11:36

This will the fifth generation of bum they have been around, but from what I've read they last forever, so sure they'll be fine Grin

I think I'm with Vallinna on the euwwwwww! (confess I have been known to dribble sometimes in my sleep... not attractive on the bus, eek)

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 26/05/2011 11:38

Link to the nappy thread I got my totsbots from here

takethatlady · 26/05/2011 11:43

nickel mine too Grin Jealous of your leakage katee - when crusts become colostrum I'll be happy Grin

And I've had the odd mouth-dribble too vallinna, though not that much. I dread to think how bad the snoring is now though, since I'm finding it hard not to snore when I'm awake!

In other news DH and I appear to have gone into JSing overdrive ... he must be turned on by crusts, dribble, snot and flab Grin

vallinnapod · 26/05/2011 12:15

I wouldn't bother buying newborn ones (sorry Katee) due to the cord and the fact merconium (sp?) stains it is recommended you use diposables for the first few days or week (unless your newborn fits the reusables perfectly) I have 4 newborn bumgeniuses - all acquired free (though Bounty and baby mag offers - just paid postage) and they really are small, although the leg hole are still bigger that the Itti Bitti Tuttos on the smallest setting (this is where the major leakage can occur).

I have 2 totsbots easyfits (in the star print and planet print) which are just too cute! Grin We had decided to go for the Itti Bittis but I still couldn't resist these!

All you have to remember is all babies are different shapes, all reusables are different shapes. If one doesn't work another might. Having spent £250 on Itti Bittis the baby is going back if they don't fit Grin

Baby2b · 26/05/2011 12:55

Put in a couple of request katee. Will be a bargain if I get them! Plus they were what nappy lady recommended me :)

Baby2b · 26/05/2011 13:00

Just seen your post ttl Grin. Glad someone is keeping the jsing spirit alive. I have unfortunately had thrush so no jsing for two weeks :( Went to the gp and it seems to be clearing up so hopefully back on it this weekend. My dreaming has got really bad because of it. Dh said the other night I was making noises in my sleep and he wasn't sure if it was a nightmare or something erotic. Blush I was of course dreaming about him and not mcdreamy from Greys anatomy!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 26/05/2011 13:09

I feel very very left out no leaking (thank goodness), no JSing due to ill hubby (and now that he seems to be coming right, I have an infected fanjo Blush) and no fluffywuffy cute little reusable nappies. Thank goodness for a drawer full of tiny baby clothes for me to dress my bump with Grin
