Ladies, choccie-chiplet arrived at 12.18 on 19th Sept, 7lbs 9oz. Still undecided about a name. She's utterly beautiful - truly, even putting mummy bias aside. The birth experience was complicated and probably one of my worst case scenario options - I'll tell you all about it later - but I'd do it all again in a heartbeat to have her with us. I was in hospital for 5 nights, and the last few at home have been challenging so I am very very tired. But wanted you to know our news, and promise more details soonish. Thinking of boba. x

Keziahhopes · 25/09/2011 13:53

Ooh - our first girl here. Congratulations Choccie, and thank you so much for letting us know. When you have caught up on sleep am sure a name will become clearer. xxx

boba82 · 26/09/2011 09:13

Hello lovely ladies. Zachary (Zach) was born at 07:58 on 22nd Sep weighing 9lb 5oz. I managed a long time at home with my TENS machine and when we finally got to hospital I was 9 1/2 cm dilated! Only thing available was g&a then anyway but it did help so I got the birth I wanted Smile I have to say though had I known I would have gone earlier and had the diamorphine!

Getting used to being a mummy and breastfeeding but he is actually very good and sleeps for 4 & 5 hours between feeds. He is adorable and is totally worth the shitnesss of pregnancy and all the waiting and heartache of all the TTC!

choccie congratulations on your daughter Grin! Sorry you didn't have the birth you wanted but as you say she's worth it. x

kitty we've already been wee'd on twice Smile x

keziah Not too long to wait hon, I say you have a surprise! x

anytime and storm glad to hear Jensen and George are thriving. x

Can't believe we're all here with our babies (&keziahbump)!

Hopefully catch up soon.

Keziahhopes · 26/09/2011 10:51

Congratulations boba on your Zach(ary) and glad you managed to have the birth you hoped for. He is sleeping amazingly, so hope that helps you recover!!

Mm.... perhaps I should change my name to boba's suggestion Grin

The good thing for Kelpie and I is that you are ahead of us, so will be fountains of knoweldge Grin Grin for the next stages!!!

boba82 · 02/10/2011 17:09

I am still dipping in when I get a minute so please keep us updated keziah on how keziahbump is doing. x

Keziahhopes · 03/10/2011 11:03

Hi to all new mums - hope all is going well.

I am not feeling too great today, sore throat/temp despite being on antibiotics so off to the gp's. Am meant to go into hospital for iv antibiotics according to the obstetrician but first have to have a gp say that I am ill and have an infection... hope I don't, but as it would be early stages they will not overreact anyway. If I wasn't pregnant I would now have to take 6g of antibiotics orally which I can't do, so am nervous as already on the max normal dose of antibiotics!

boba82 · 03/10/2011 19:47

Hope you're on the mend keziah x

Keziahhopes · 04/10/2011 16:00

Thanks boba. Am on gynae ward for IV antibiotics unfortunately. At 20 weeks go to ward where my obstetrician is, so she came to visit me today. Heard heartbeat today :).

boba82 · 08/10/2011 21:35

You still in hospital Keziah? You're in the best place - enjoy the rest!

I'm at my wits ends today. Zach is finally asleep after being awake and cranky ALL day! I'm exhausted as he's been feeding constantly. Hopefully just a wee growth spurt and back to normal in next few days !

How's everyone else doing?

Keziahhopes · 09/10/2011 20:22

boba - am home now, thanks to iv antibiotics and a bed shortage!! Had lots of rest but still slept more than 13hrs last night. So sorry to hear baby Zach not learnt night from day and is tiring out his Mummy. Cuddles to him xx

boba82 · 10/10/2011 12:18

Good sleep is the best medicine so rest up keziah. Zach's back to being a good boy last 2 nights so long may it continue! x

Keziahhopes · 10/10/2011 19:25

Boba glad baby Zach is being so good for you now!! Grin

Had horrible day as got latest blood test results the hospital insisted on. Blood levels higher than on discharge, was told by hospital they would call me back in if this was the case, so rang ward as told to - who totally denied this (methinks it was one of the nurses who tried to avoid any patients in when I was there!!) so went to Gp, who said levels too high so rang my obstetrician who said if can't find site of infection they will do nothing. So went to work in tears. Basically have to hope get better or obvious infection site happens to get any treatment for it. Gp seeing me twice this week to monitor as unhappy with hospital telling us 2 different things. I said one word "fine" - they will be fined if admit me with same problem. Just hoping baby is fine, I don't mind being ill but can't cope at 18 weeks if anything happens to the baby.

boba82 · 11/10/2011 15:48

They are surprisingly resilient keziah so try not worry any more than you already are. When I was admitted with the severe stomach pains and vomiting baby's heartbeat was perfectly normal. Your body will make sure baba's ok first. Hope things get sorted out for you though. x

Harry2007 · 12/10/2011 16:57

Hi Ladies,

MASSIVE congrats to all you new mums - hope your babies are behaving!

It seems a lifetime ago that Tal was a newborn - 7 months old now! I went back to work on Monday but have decided to reduce my hours so only working Monday to Wednesday from now on Grin. The sense of freedom is absolutely amazing, although it goes without saying that I miss both ds's after being at home for nearly a year.

I do remeber that constant feeding stage, it does get better! Honestly Wink

Well, just a short catch up and to look in on the new arrivals.

Take care all (and good luck!)

Harry xxx

boba82 · 17/10/2011 18:41

When's your 20 week scan keziah?

Keziahhopes · 17/10/2011 22:59

Hi - it was today boba. Started off interesting as on Fri pm found out why blood levels so high and I felt so ill, the urine sent to the lab when in hospital showed I had a uti, but it took 11 days for a gp at my dr's to get this information, so consultant wasn't happy!! Lovely to see the little boy (we found out, typical we had chosen a girl's name and not like any boys name - although not spent ages on it!). He yawned lots Grin.

However one side of the placenta has not adapted and is notched (!) meaning it is not fully working, so I get another scan with the consultant in Dec. Means lower birth weight or pre-eclampsia if not adapt in next few weeks so hoping it does.

boba82 · 18/10/2011 16:31

Another boy! Lovely news keziah I hope the placenta sorts itself out, you don't need anything else to worry about do you?! Make a list of a few names you like as I had my heart set on Elliot if we had a boy however as soon as he was born I knew he wasn't an Elliot - he was nameless for 2-3 days until we settled on Zach. Oh I'm so pleased/excited for you Keziah. Do you feel like you can relax a tiny bit now? x

Keziahhopes · 18/10/2011 20:14

boba - yes feel much better now we know the baby is ok. Dh really wanted to know what we were having, and it made him smile so much which made me smile. i didn't mind, after out ttc journey am thankful whether boy/girl. Yes, will have to draw up a list of names. Slight chance of early birth if placenta doesn't adapt by 28 weeks, so want to be prepared. Definitely hope placenta finishes adapting! Smile

How strange you didn't use Elliot - having a few names sounds good. x

boba82 · 19/10/2011 13:41

Yeah he just didn't look like an Elliot. I felt/feel exactly the same re the sex of baby. Even if he's the only baby we ever have I'll be eternally grateful as for a while there we didn't think we'd have any of our own. Gosh I hope it does too keziah 8 weeks isn't long!

StormBird · 21/10/2011 19:03

WOW another boy, great news Keziah (I'm still around in the Shadows, just don't have piggin time to do any posting sorry ladies) XXXX
