Right, have had a little nap with the young man and changed my first nappy in a while, just training the little man in the art of eating not falling asleep on the boob!
Contractions started properly last night about 6pm, ggg I had been ravenous for a couple of days in advance!
They were about 20 mins apart but stronger than before, after my show last week I had spent the day with a small amount of fresh blood on going to loo.
Contractions continued to increase in intensity slowly, mainly strong period cramps and back ache with lots of watery discharge. Had Bath at 9 ish and contractions then quickly went to 8 mins apart. Cooked and ate dinner then as they were getting closer took DD to friends house at 11, phoned hospital and then contractions became every 5 mins or so. Got to hospital and into delivery suite about 0030. Contractions now 3 mins or so apart and very intense, tried gas and air again which helped more than last time but did make me feel dizzy so got onto bed on my side as only comfy position.
"temporary" MW who was admitting us came in to do "handover" to "our" MW at which point I was gulping the gas & air quite hard and trying to telepathically communicate with DH that me hitting him actually meant - take my trousers off I need to push
- he didn't get the message properly!! MW examined me I was fully dilated and head wad visible but waters still intact - they had to break them twice as baby getting a bit distressed. Then spent a short time pushing - this for me is the hard bit as no stamina with my CFS!! Spent some time with his head just about to come out!! Final couple of pushes and he arrived at 0207.
Skin to skin, delivered final stage, a bit of feeding and we were ready to come home! Had shower and got dressed and waited for paperwork To be done - in fact that was the longest wait!! Left hospital at 0600 and home by 0645!
DD has met him this morning on her way to school! All friends and family phoned! Had a nap and something to eat and just chilling out now!
See ladies nothing to worry about! You'll all cope brilliantly!
Off to drink my tea! See you later!!
