Hi everyone.
Haven't posted in ages due to computer problems, so you probably don't remember me! Hope everyone is ok. All the best to those who are contracting!

Saw C&G's awful news SadSadShe was due the day efore me and it made me start prodding my bump.

not much to report here. Coming up to 38 weeks now. want it over, but also dreading it as DS has been poorly and his sleep is a nightmare right now. Surprised the neighours haven't called SS the way he screams at night!

MrsSnaplegs · 09/12/2010 04:11

Hugh Headley Snaplegs born at 0207hrs, weighing in at 7lb 7oz's. Brief labour (1 hr 40 mins) interspersed with moderate bad language and chronic back and sciatic pain which confused me (Mr Snaplegs BTW) as I was trying to time the contractions. Mum and little'un both doing well. Expecting to return home in the next hour or so!

Miffster · 09/12/2010 07:17

Congratulations to the Snaplegs family on the arrival of baby Hugh! Hooray! Another lovely December baba safely landed! How ace! Hope you are enjoying the snuggles!

DuelingFanio · 09/12/2010 07:17

crazykat · 09/12/2010 08:02

Congrats MrsSL glad you're both doing well.

emmaxmas · 09/12/2010 08:37

Morning all! Lovely news MrsSN - congrats on the arrival of Hugh! Hope all is well and that your ME/CFS manageable.

Thinking of all of you who are having contractions and envious of you meeting your babies so soon.

Very uncomfortable here- 37+5 and lower back pain has kicked in big time and feeling hugely heavy in my lower pelvis. Feels like baby could just drop out.

Wish so much I was already on mat leave but still a week and a day to go Hmm

Wholelottalove · 09/12/2010 08:43

Congratulations MrsS and family, and welcome to baby Hugh. Lovely name :) Wow, that was quick! Glad you are home already and hope you're now tucked up in bed enjoying snuggles.

Lavitabellissima · 09/12/2010 09:43

GreenGeekGirl · 09/12/2010 09:43

Congratulations MrsS - love the name Hugh and what a fabulously short labour! Grin

Welcome back QoD - of course we remember you! :)

I'm very uncomfortable too now, especially in the pelvis, which feels really sore. I had to crawl up the stairs last night! Blush

Is anyone else ravenously hungry all the time? I can't stop eating! Xmas Blush

DuelingFanio · 09/12/2010 09:46

I'm not that uncomfortable - am I a freak of nature? I do have to roll off the bed a bit but not feeling too bad. I wonder if this baby is going to be really really late.

Just got woken by a man dropping of some Amazon boxes, am a bit worried I may have flashed him while signing the little electronic box thing!

chloesbaby · 09/12/2010 10:08

Congratulations MrsS! Yay, another baby! Grin

laurenamium · 09/12/2010 10:26

df I'm not in any discomfOrt either!maybe it's a sign for the late babies!41+1 here now and booked an induction on Monday!I'm sure you won't end up being that late though Grin

LittleB · 09/12/2010 11:57

Congratulations MrsSL, hope you are having fun with little Hugh, I'm v jealous can't wait for my baby to be here! Hope pitterpatter is getting on ok too!
Having been told my baby will probably be 2-3wks early (due to cervical treatment last year, and dd was a week early) I'm half expecting this one to go overdue and I'll have to jump on the January thread! DH is going to get me some pineapple, prunes, raspberry leaf tea and curry, he's also happy to provide any other services Wink to get things going when I reach 38wks this weekend!
This thread is getting v exciting with babies arriving now!

KittyBump · 09/12/2010 12:01

Yay another December baby - Congratulations Snaplegs Clan and welcome to the wintry world little Hugh Grin

lol on flashing amazon man df - probably brightened his day!

Still no progress here (39+4), I think my baba is still way too high up to make an appearance anytime soon. I have bought some pineapple and may give it a try later on, tried sex but hasn't worked - I suppose I'll have to do it again Hmm

GGG I can join you in constant eating! I just thought it was because we'd done a big shop and there was finally nice things in the house Xmas Smile

Hope all went well with CS mamathula x

MrsSnaplegs · 09/12/2010 12:38

Right, have had a little nap with the young man and changed my first nappy in a while, just training the little man in the art of eating not falling asleep on the boob!

Contractions started properly last night about 6pm, ggg I had been ravenous for a couple of days in advance!
They were about 20 mins apart but stronger than before, after my show last week I had spent the day with a small amount of fresh blood on going to loo.

Contractions continued to increase in intensity slowly, mainly strong period cramps and back ache with lots of watery discharge. Had Bath at 9 ish and contractions then quickly went to 8 mins apart. Cooked and ate dinner then as they were getting closer took DD to friends house at 11, phoned hospital and then contractions became every 5 mins or so. Got to hospital and into delivery suite about 0030. Contractions now 3 mins or so apart and very intense, tried gas and air again which helped more than last time but did make me feel dizzy so got onto bed on my side as only comfy position.
"temporary" MW who was admitting us came in to do "handover" to "our" MW at which point I was gulping the gas & air quite hard and trying to telepathically communicate with DH that me hitting him actually meant - take my trousers off I need to pushGrin - he didn't get the message properly!! MW examined me I was fully dilated and head wad visible but waters still intact - they had to break them twice as baby getting a bit distressed. Then spent a short time pushing - this for me is the hard bit as no stamina with my CFS!! Spent some time with his head just about to come out!! Final couple of pushes and he arrived at 0207.
Skin to skin, delivered final stage, a bit of feeding and we were ready to come home! Had shower and got dressed and waited for paperwork To be done - in fact that was the longest wait!! Left hospital at 0600 and home by 0645!

DD has met him this morning on her way to school! All friends and family phoned! Had a nap and something to eat and just chilling out now!

See ladies nothing to worry about! You'll all cope brilliantly!
Off to drink my tea! See you later!!

DuelingFanio · 09/12/2010 13:18

Blimey - that was quick indeed! fab birth story MrsS I can only hope mine goes so well!

kellestar · 09/12/2010 13:55

Crikey MrsS that was speedy progress. Love the name, it was on my list but DH doesn't like it. You make it sound so easy!

To everyone who is worrying, everything sets me off, I woke up this morning and could see my toes and SPD pain soooo much less. Bump seems to finally have dropped LO's legs are tucked into my back as I can feel some movement there. I can't believe how energused I feel. Done housework, been out shopping with MiL and gone for a walk. I think things may finally be going in the right direction.

My MW appointments are 2 weeks apart and the Specialist every month. So tomorrow 39+5 for specialist and MW at 41+2.

I am obsessed with macaroni cheese and garlic bread i could eat it every day of the week. I could eat anything though at the moment, in fact may just go and get a snack right now.

SlightlyTired · 09/12/2010 14:30

MrsSL, congratulations! I love the name too. Thanks for sharing your birth story - you make it sound so easy!!!

Was pretty sure I was going into labour again this morning. Regular contractions have now subsided again. Just had major strop at DH who was making insensitive jokes about how late I will be etc etc. Burst into tears in front of parents and have now retreated to my bedroom to sulk in peace. Am so fed up now. Over two weeks of on-off contractions - it's too much.

CherylAnnTweedy · 09/12/2010 14:34

Congratulations MrsSnapLegs and welcome to the world little Hugh.

Feeling crap here, all fluey again since yesterday. Having a sweep tomorrow but don't think it will do anything. I think my body was more ready 2 weeks ago than it is now. But just as long as baby doesn't come today I don't mind though, my mum has told me not to worry if baby does come today but I'd still feel really guilty if I do have it today. My brother would be 35 today, my parents will come round after they've been to the cemetary to see him, and it would be lovely for the rest of today to speed by very quickly indeed.

maxpower · 09/12/2010 15:29

congratualtions MrsSL what a fab birth story.

Hope pitterpatter is getting on ok

I (finally) finish work tomorrow - yay!!!

CAT sorry you're feeling unwell

lots of pelvic pain here, so totally different from when I was expecting DD, so I'm really hoping this is a good omen this time round. Am still nagging asking DH to get my bloody bags down from the loft so I can actually pack some stuff - 37 weeks tomorrow!

I'd forgotten that DH had arranged to look after our twin nephews next Weds - I did point out to him that as he was the one who'd offered, he could do the looking after Wink I can barely walk let alone run around after 2 toddlers!

Am really fed up of having no phone line or internet at home now. Rang up BT and played the pregnancy card but with little effect. They reckon it might be mended this weekend Hmm but I'll believe it when I see it.
