curlycapers - i had a lump in my right breast a year or two ago, and they did an ultrasound of it, they said that it was just a build up of tissue and would eventually go away, it was quite painful at the time, but it has since gone and has not returned. I understand how worried you are, it is the last thing you need at the moment, but all you can do is wait for the results. Baby will be fine, i ahve read that a certain amount of stress will do the baby good and prepare it to cope with the stress it will encounter at birth. Don't worry, we're all here to support you if you need us

Curlycapers · 16/11/2005 17:26

Thank you for your message Diddle, you're right all I can do is wait and see. I'm gonna do my best to forget about it. At least I got to see the hospital quickly, they originally said February! I would have definately gone mad with worry by then.

So who's got a bump now? my jeans are getting tight but no real bump as such. Has anybody else felt their babies move yet?

slinkstah · 16/11/2005 17:34

i am 8.5 weeks and i know this sounds stupid but have felt the baby move- i know its probably impossible but i must be going mad then as what else can prod you just above my pubic bone right in the middle. maybe its my uterus moving or something, but i felt it hard in my lecture the other day at uni and i ignored it but i have felt the same feeling quite a few times today. what does everyone think?

LilacBump · 16/11/2005 17:41

slinkstah, i didn't believe i could feel the baby move at 10-11 weeks, but i did. it becomes more and more clear every day that that's what it is. if you've felt it before, you identify it a lot easier.

slinkstah · 16/11/2005 17:45

well i supose i could be further along that i thought if i ov earlier, i guess ill have to wait for a scan to date me properley.
i did feel 1st pg at 14 weeks and 2nd and 3rd pg at 12 weeks. its an unmistakeable feeling. although it may well be just my body playing tricks.

Diddle · 16/11/2005 19:58

slink - it is totally possible that you felt it, esp if you know what you're looking for. Baby will be moving around a lot now. Think i have oo much padding to feel a thing at the moment.

curlycapers - I definitly have a bump, so much so that people have asked me if i'm pregnant, i'm only 10 wks. gonna be an elephant in 30 wks time can't wait!

Flum · 16/11/2005 21:02

Hello all, especially those new to the thread and even more especially those new to Mumsnet. You will never regret clicking here. Enjoy.

I am still knackered. The reason have hardly been on here. Started new job on Monday and have to get up at 6.30am to get dd to nursery and get there in time. Plus dd 21 months has started waking up all through the night. am done in and off to bed in minute.

New job is great but business suits starting to look tight. Am bit worried about clothing as don't want to let on am pregnant til I have to (15 weeks before due date I believe) so gotta keep it hidden until end of January. I think lots of long scarves will help but don't want to wear maternity clothes as they just make you look more preggars don't they!

Stats:

me: 33
dh: 34
dd: 21 months
Second pregnancy
Due date: 11/06/06
Live: Rural, Wiltshire
lbs gained since finding out about pregnancy 3

BabyBelly · 17/11/2005 02:18

I definitely have a bump and I'm only at 8weeks and 6days
I have also put on 6lbs in these past 2 months.
Have stopped stuffing my face now but looks like the damage has been done

Diddle · 17/11/2005 07:11

morning ladies - well i definitly look huge and tried to find some nice longer tops for me to wear, but i couldn;t find anything i liked so ended up buying maternity clothes, i do look huge and you're right flum they do make you look pregnant.
got my scan today at 12.10, can't wait, looking forward to it, but a bit nervous too, in case they say somethings wrong.

hannibo · 17/11/2005 08:43

good luck with your scan today diddle

abbey1515 · 17/11/2005 09:22

Hi everyone
i had my CVS and scan yesterday at 10+5- the baby was jumping and kicking and it was just amazing!
The midwife said the results (whether baby has Epidermolysis Bullosa) should come through tomorrow, which is quite nerve-wracking, but we will also find out if it's a boy or a girl.

Morning
Goodluck for your scan today diddle. got mine a week tomorrow

Can i ask a canid question?? Has anybody noticed their sex drive has gone thru the roof? I can't get enough and poor dh is moaning he feels like a s** slave I just can't help myself
So come on ladies be truthful who else is having "funny" pregnancy side effects?
D

LilacBump · 17/11/2005 09:32

diddle, good luck with your scan!

yes, bugs, i too have noticed my sex drive has gone up. but DP is working so much lately, we hardly have time to do something about that. i also have sexy dreams and not just about DP, but certain male celebrities too!

slinkstah · 17/11/2005 12:06

I have done it! i have made an appointment to see the dr, i am getting jealous of you lot talking about scans etc when i have been too much of a wuss to even get a referal. i have booked in with the man, as he might just beleive that im pg without asking me to prove it by visiting the nurse and then come back again etc. anyway fingers crossed they just book me in with no hassles!

on the horniness front, i always get hornier when pg i think its the extra progesterone. i don't have time to make my dp a sex slave at the moment, he will just have to wait.

diddle- good luck for your scan

Diddle · 17/11/2005 14:26

well done slink!! so glad you've booked in.

scan went well, fast but reassuring. Baby is now 41mm, which is perfect for its age. saw the heartbeating away, and he/she did lots of wriggling around, saw it waving its arms an legs in the air. still doesn't feel real though. Feels like we were just watching it on tv, and it wasn't inside me.

Flum · 17/11/2005 21:18

abbey1515, good luck. Is that a genetic umm illness?

Put on another lb - oh my God. WATCH YOUR WEIGHT LADIES

I put on 4stone with first pregnancy and never got back to my pre- pregnancy weight was always 6-7lb above it. Very difficult.

Bugs · 17/11/2005 23:53

O.k joking apart i need some real help/advise now.

I've been told loads tonight how big my bump looks which is fine by me BUT i finally wieghed myself today as my trousers are falling off me & i've lost nearly half a stone. I'm worried now i always struggle to lose weight i've got my scan next fri and can only see my midwife on wed (only day shes in clinic) has anybody else had weight lose????? please someone tell me yes?

Heres hoping
D

Panyanpickle77 · 18/11/2005 00:01

Apparently weight loss can be quite common in the first trimester. I had the same thing with my ds (born Aug 05) and i was really worried as I lost 1/2stone. . . I told my midwife who was unconcerned. Luckily she knew what she was talking about as i put on 3 stone and had a 9lb baby!!! Try not to upset yourself as the stress will not do you any good. If you are really worried see if you can get an appointment with your GP or give your midwife a call in the morning.

Laura032004 · 18/11/2005 08:28

Bugs - have you been sick or off your food at all? It doesn't take much to lose (or gain for that matter!) half a stone, so I really wouldn't worry.

I was doing Slimming World when I fell pg with ds (I was a consultant), and wasn't yet at the weight I was aiming for. I continued to lose weight for a few more weeks once pg - even though I was eating a really healthy balanced diet.

However, this all changed later on in the pg, as I was confined to 'sofa & daytime TV' rest! I think I put on about 4st all told by the time ds was born!

Keep an eye on it, and mention it to the MW, but I'm sure it is v.common. Your body will ensure the baby has all it needs, so you don't need to worry about it going without.

The only time I would say worry, is if you were already at the lowest recommended weight for your height. Any idea if you are?

Hope that helps a bit

Curlycapers · 18/11/2005 09:11

Bugs - please don't worry, I have lost weight at the beginning of all 3 of my pregnancies. About half a stone too.

Good luck today Abbey1515

well i'm eating like a horse ans weighed myself yesterday and i have stayed the same, so i guess if i wasn;t snacking so much i would have lost too. but you're right, baby will take what it needs from our bodies and we have plenty stored for them, even id we do lose weight.

11wks

Diddle · 18/11/2005 09:28

slink - 9 wks today for you woohoo, how you feeling?

Bugs · 18/11/2005 09:35

Thanks ladies
I am by no stretch of even my imagination under weight. I haven't been pyhically sick but am feeling bloody awful on & off all day my morning sickness has eased off alot 2 weeks ago but came back with vengance this week I am starting to eat alot better now but am sticking to small meals of jacket pots , pizza , pasta etc when morning sickness was at its worst all i could eat was white toast (only toasted on one side???) My bump looks huge but my trousers are falling off me? i think the reason i was so worried is i don't rememeber losing this much weight with my dd but heh ho

I worked out in the early hours of this morning the reason i've lost so much is that i've not been eating alot and have turned sex mad he he poor dh.
On a lighter note only 7 days till my scan & we find out if it's twins yipppeeeeee i can't wait dh has a day off work & 4yr old dd is coming too.

Hope everybody else is keeping well.
D
