Sorry to hear you're having a rough time of it JM... I was over by 13 days and midwife had only just started to get round to mentioning possible induction - can't believe MW wouldn't do the Sweep for you and what a naff reason - booked into the WRONG hospital?!?! {{hugs}}

STM can assure you there are benefits to not having a man in tow permanently - just take a peep at post-natal thread... girls there having a bit of a tough time with lack of support poor things. Would like to have him around though... he's taking to daddyhood just wonderfully

tiggyhop · 30/09/2005 16:34

JM: Am absolutely astounded by looney MW behaviour this morning - complete madness. What possible relevance is it which hospital you are booked into? Crazy. I am getting desperate for this baby to arrive too - although I know s/he is only 1 day late! The other two were both early so mw said there was no chance this one would be late (opinion of mw drops further)! Ho hum. Have DS1 (2.5) and DS2 (15 months). Would like them to be joined by a DB asap as am not getting any sleep anyway so may as well be up feeding a small person.

pooka · 30/09/2005 18:19

Crikey milward - what a whopper!!! Congrats.

Katts · 30/09/2005 18:32

Congrats Milward!

STM - I can't even wear my maternity clothes now because they're too tight across my sore tummy. Found a pair of DP's tracksuit bottoms which I can pull all the way up over what's left of my bump. I look like an idiot, but feels nice. Good thing I can leave the house for a while yet.

Oh yeah...and the comedy boobs! All those rants about huge pregnant boobs seem silly now in comparison.

singleteenagemum · 30/09/2005 19:38

Ok well i'm all packed and ready for tomorrow...i'm armed with hello, OK! and lots of other gossip mags. Not gonig in till evening so sure the day will drag out.

Thanx for advice Beatie but unfortunately am left all home alone tomorrow, mum,dad and DNM all at work till 5or so, hence will be on my own but still thats something i wont be able to do for a while! lol

Sorted my wardrobe this afternoon and did find trousers that fit....yay! have to wear thme under bump but still yay...they're a very stretchy size 10 will be wearing them out of hospital next week me thinks....

pooka · 30/09/2005 21:43

Good luck for tomorrow STM. Hope all goes well and look forward to hearing your news

Cabe · 30/09/2005 22:50

Good luck for tomorrow STM... Little Noah will be on his way!
Size 10??? Oh if only! I have a whole wardrobe of my size 10s and can only squidge them most of the way up my thighs
Lovely DP says I should keep some of my weight as it suits me.... hope he's paying for a new wardrobe full of 14s then!!!

RedZuleika · 30/09/2005 23:07

Just a quick one before bed...

Good luck for tomorrow, STM.

Night night everyone.

beatie · 01/10/2005 07:53

Congratulations Milward

Good luck STM. It's good that you're being induced at night. I was induced at 11am and spent a very boring day waiting for something to happen. For me, nothing happened until 12 hours later and that was just mild pain. I got another dose of the gel stuff and then things kicked off properly 12 hours after that. It happens differently for everyone but at least you'll go in, get the induction started and then hopefully be able to sleep. You might want to take some earplugs and make sure you get a good nights sleep tonight though

Labour vibes coming your way Jessysmummy Fingers crossed.

mummyhill · 01/10/2005 10:29

Welcome to the group tiggyhop. Where are you based? It seems that there is a wide difference in what is offered with regard to sweeps etc depending on where you live.

Congratulations Milward.

Good luck for tomorrow STM

Hugs to all those still waiting.

See you all soon on post natal thread. I am getting really good at this one handed typing too.

singleteenagemum · 01/10/2005 11:59

Morning everyone (just about)

labour vibes your way JM.

am getting painful tightenings every 5mins...is this it? can handle them though so not too concerned, they're just rather uncomfortable.

Hope everyone is well...will see you all when i come back from hospital...hopefully monday

Rhumba · 01/10/2005 12:15

was going to update yesterday at about 11.40 but waters popped and baby girl was born at 12.57 in the hospital reception! no time for drugs and delivered placenta naturally with gas and air. we're all a little shocked as ds was 19hrs from waters breaking.

name to be decided. more later

singleteenagemum · 01/10/2005 12:19

Congratualtions Rhumba...we seem to be getting some very quick babies...once they've decided they want to come n play they do!

Cabe · 01/10/2005 12:54

Congratulations Rhumba! Another quick labour and another little girl! Well Done

STM every five mins sounding gooood! maybe no need for induction x

Labour Vibes Jessysmummy - {{hugs}}

jessysmummy · 01/10/2005 15:17

Thanks for the support everyone! Cn feel labour vibes wafting my way as we speak. Have been having a VERY small amount of leakage. Completely different from last time as waters broke all in one great big gush. Hoping this could be the start of it. Will wait until rubbish mw comes to visit tomorrow am if nothing happens before then.
CONGRATULATIONS rumba and welcome to another (and last official) september baby! Look forward to the details of another quickie.
STM - hope all goes well - look forward to you checking back in with us...no doubt I'll still be here!

ych · 01/10/2005 17:29

Hi all, just wanted to say congratulations to all the new arrivals and send loads of positive labour vibes for the rest of you.
Joel is now 2 1/2 weeks old and getting on great. It's so funny how you just adapt to everything, it's like he's always been here. Anyway, I'm a bit blonde and don't know how to add him to the arrivals thread. Can someone tell me what to do or add him on? He was born on 13/9/05 11.09am at Forth Park Maternity Hosp, Kirkcaldy, Fife, his full name is Joel Gregor, weight 6lbs 6 1/2 oz.
Good luck everyone, look forward to seeing you all on the post natal thread.

milward · 01/10/2005 18:51

good luck everyone xxx

Redhelen · 01/10/2005 18:52

Best of luck ladies!!
Sorry been quite recently - computer down and I've been unwell.

postive labour vibes xxxxxxxxxxxxx

mummyhill · 01/10/2005 23:04

Congratulations Rhumba

pooka · 02/10/2005 07:34

Congratulations Rhumba - what a quick labour. What was the staff's reaction?

jessysmummy · 02/10/2005 08:34

Hello ladies...Am I the last woman standing? Without new baby anyway? Was kind of expecting to be the last one to pop.
STM should have finally been united with Noah, or at least be well on the way.
RZ - you've been quiet since friday. BTW re Archers fixation - I keep meaning to listen in to it - one of the girls I was friends with in school (Annabelle Dowler - really lovely girl) is in it - don't know which character she plays, though.
And Tiggyhop - no sign of you for a couple of days either.
Hope you are both now bumpless!
Waiting for MW this morning - hoping she has positive news. Something along the lines of..."Stand back, this baby's coming now...", should do it!!! DPs leave for Italy in less than 24hrs and would dearly love for them to see new babe before they go. What're the chances of that?

jessysmummy · 02/10/2005 08:35

BTW - lovely to hear from all of you from the postnatal thread. Thanks for your good wishes. Hope all is well with your new born lovelies.

fastasleep · 02/10/2005 08:47

Ello, just popping in to shyly say I read this thread to scare myself! I'm due this month, just thought I'd say congrats to everyone who's popped... and everyone who's overlapped into October you're being very calm about it, you should see our thread, there's been pineapple eating a plenty already lol

You can do it girls!!

If anyone gets completely left out feel free to wander over to our thread, although I'm sure no one will let you get left on your own!
