ReshapeWhileDamp · 10/11/2010 09:47

lavita What wonderful news to see first thing! Well done! Don't be worried about asking for help with the expressing if you need it.

emmaxmas · 10/11/2010 10:02

Hi Lavita- congratulations! Wonderful news- it must be so lovely to have your girls home- so exciting! Take good care of yourself and looking forward to updates.

93pjb · 10/11/2010 11:02

congratulations Lavita - beautiful names too (my sister is Vivien and i've always loved the name)

hope the expressing goes well.

Sorry to hear about the pre-eclampsia too Japh you are certainly having an eventful pregnancy...

I'm having the day on the sofa today after D&V last night. Feeling okay now but a bit wiped out, have managed to keep a slice of toast down for an hour or so now. Thankfully, as i should be at work dd has gone to the childminder as usual.

maxpower · 10/11/2010 11:28

congratulations lavita I was only thinking of you last night! Glad to hear your girls are well and home with you already.

Hope OWO is getting on ok.

japh sorry to hear of your latest complication.

I'm so tired. I think I'll get the mw to check my iron levels from my 28 wks bloods when I go to the ANC on Friday. They told me they'd let me know if there was a problem but I have no faith in the antenatal services so I wouldn't be at all suprised if they were low and no-one's done anything. Only going into the office on Thursday afternoon and will be interviewing for my mat cover, so will do my best to take things easy for the next few days. 32+5 today, I can't imagine how I'll make it through another 4 weeks of work. I'm already doing the bear minimum in addition to coming in late and going home early. It wasn't this tough first time round!

KittyBump · 10/11/2010 11:29

Well done Lavita and welcome to the world beautiful girls Grin gorgeous names!

Just got an email from my yoga teacher saying two more ladies from my class have had little boys over the weekend! IT'S SOOOOOO EXCITING!!!!!!

I had some twinges last night which was a bit disconcerting as I've had no BH at all and no pain in that area for a very long time (very rarely get period pain anyway and what with being pg for nearly 8 months!) - suddenly made me realise this may well make my eyes water!

93pjb hope you're feeling better

reshape just read your post as though you were offering help personally with Lavita's expressing - very generous of you :)

CherylAnnTweedy · 10/11/2010 11:50

Congratulations Lavita Smile. Wonderful news that your girls are doing well.

SlightlyTired · 10/11/2010 11:57

93pjb sorry to hear you were unwell last night. D&V is truly awful at the best of times - so much worse when heavily pregnant.

Maxpower - you sound like me a couple of weeks ago. Are you taking Spatone by any chance? I should be on commission for this company - I am telling everyone about it! I haven't had my iron level results yet either but after I started to take Spatone I started to feel an awful lot better. And it doesn't make you constipated which is a Very Good Thing. I still feel tired a lot of the time but at least I don't need a rest after doing simple things like taking a shower or walking up the stairs.

Lavitabellissima · 10/11/2010 12:02

Thanks so much ladies, full of happy hormones here, they are so gorgeous and tiny Smile

So I was mumsnetting on Weds night and the last post I read was on a twins thread where I was told not to worry if when my water's broke, I saw blood. 3 hours later I wake up, my waters go and there's blood, thank god for mumsnet!
Called hospital and told to come in with bag. Whole way I kept complaining about not having been to the hairdressers! My mind was racing. Got to hospital at 4.50am

Will finish after next feed!

laurenamium · 10/11/2010 12:14

Congratulations lavita I love the names! and you sound so happy Grin makes me very smiley!

CheeseandGherkins · 10/11/2010 12:58

Congratulations Lavita wonderful news, so glad you're all doing so well! Lovely names too. I love Florence, it's my DD's middle name after my nan :)

Max I was/am feeling like that, just started on the floradix which I find more palatable than spatone, used both before. Same kind of thing though. It seems to be working already as I do have more energy just feeling really tired today and yesterday as I missed a dose...I'm doubling up as my levels were quite low at 8.6.

crazy I'm not too bad today thanks, a little tired but I'm determined to wash those baby clothes!

Had a tesco delivery this morning which saved a trip to the shops, now to think what to do for dinner. DH is volunteering at the dc's school this afternoon, he still isn't able to work due to his illness but he wants to retrain (has a degree in computer science or something) to be a teacher next year if he's able and this will all be good for him plus he actually wants to do something. He hates not being able to work :(

34 weeks tomorrow, wish I was further on, I just want my baby to be born and the birth over with! Must get some cleaning and tidying done after too, sorted the kitchen already but the dining room needs a hoover and wipe down.

japhrimel · 10/11/2010 13:10

Congrats Lavita! Beautiful names.

I'm feeling rotten today and my BP is still high so it definitely wasn't "white coat syndrome" yesterday :-(

First NCT class last night. Not bad and we possibly covered more stuff in depth through asking lots of questions (that I mostly knew the answers to!). DH said he learnt some bits - the best bit for me was when the leader got him to hold a pillow case that she filled with things of equivalent weight to what we're carrying (baby, fluid, etc) so the men could feel how much extra weight we lug around.

notso · 10/11/2010 13:12

Congratulations lavita Smile Smile
great news and beautiful names, glad you are all home safe and sound.

japh poor you, you really are having a tough time of it.

93pjb hope you get some rest and feel better.

maxpower sorry to hear you are feeling so tired and still have another month at work.

C&G hope you are feeling better today, and I totally sympathise with having to get up in the night with DC, DS still wakes up.

Just got up after being awake all night again with cramps and braxton hicks, they were really painful to the point of me having to breathe through them and every 10 mins from midnight until 5am when just like before they magically disappeared leaving me feeling like crap.
ARGH! I can't cope with this for another 6 weeks, surely it's not normal even if this is not my first pregnancy.
Good news is that I haven't heard from M/W reguarding Pre Eclampsia test.
Also I have lost 5lb's in five days despite only eating complete and utter crap and lots of it.

SlightlyTired · 10/11/2010 13:17

C&G, have you ever tried mixing Spatone with orange juice? That's how I have it, and I honestly can't taste it. I can imagine if you drank it neat it would be pretty gross.

Am having nutella sandwich for lunch. Not exactly nutritionally balanced but it is hitting the spot. Should really go for a walk in this glorious sunshine, particularly since it will be dark in about 3 hours, but don't think I can face the Braxton Hicks...

Strix · 10/11/2010 13:17

Yippee! Congrats Lavita!! Grin

When can I meet them? And the same for you, PJEN, I want to meet your little princess too.

Sympathies, maxpower, I too am so bloody tired there is no word in my vacabulary to accurately describe it. And I have another month of work. ho hum...

I also am having much trouble breathing and often feel very lightheaded when I stand up. I am starting to question my iron levels. So, I have taken up mass consumption of red meat. I an thinking about a nice steak and peppercorn sauce for tea. yummmmmmm.....

CheeseandGherkins · 10/11/2010 13:32

japh sorry you're feeling so bad :( When do you have to go back? Have you been told you have PE now? Hoping things don't get any worse for you.

notso I think I was losing the will to live this morning, as predicted they were up at 6am, tired and whining. DS2 who will be 4 in Jan is going through a really moany, whiney, phase it seems and just wouldn't stop this morning either. I totally sympathise with the BH's. Isn't it annoying having to feel that pain when you get nothing from it! I had a similar time after DS1's party, having BH's afterwards where I had to lie over my birth ball, close my eyes and breathe to get through them. Obviously it was nothing though...only hope is that the labour seems to go faster when you have lots of BH, ime anyway.

slightly I've tried it with water and orange as well but it's the amount that I can't do, I'd rather 25 mls (that's a double dose too) of the floradix than a cupful of something else! I have to take that 3 times a day at the moment too. I think the floradix has more iron per ml, sure I read that, so it's probably better for me. I'm trying hard to get my levels up so they don't start hasseling me for canulas and all the rest when I'm in labour, as I'll only say no and piss them off anyway!

strix would recommend the floradix or spatone to you too, it's natural, no side effects and really helps!

having some tightenings today again but nothing much. I'm wondering if she's breech today as I've felt so much kicking low down, who knows though!

CherylAnnTweedy · 10/11/2010 13:51

Oh strix, please don't. Envy of your steak. The 1st thing I'm doing when this baby is born is going to Morrisons, getting some very large pieces of rib eye and having that for breakfast, lunch and dinner for a week!

DP won't let me have steak unless it's well done and I just can't eat it like that.

DuelingFanjo · 10/11/2010 13:58

YAY! many congratualtions Lavitabellissima - I love the names.

going to read back now but just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!

SlightlyTired · 10/11/2010 14:03

Strix I second C&G on the iron supplements. I did not realise just how awful I was feeling until I started to take Spatone and started to feel better. It's definitely worth a shot as it can't do any harm.

Strix · 10/11/2010 14:45

I have never heard of either of these supplements. What are they? Where do I find them? And by "no side effects" do youmean they don't cause constipation?

In both my other pregnancies, I was told I was just under the threshold after birth and given supplements. So, this time I though I would take the initiative to be proactive and started taking iron with vit c very early. Got horrible constipation and gave them up.

So, anyway, very interested in your suggestions. Can I get them at Holland and Barrett? (yawn)

Strix · 10/11/2010 14:47

Oh, and CAT, why won't your DH let you have steak? HAve I missed something I'm not supposed to eat (not that I'm likely to listen)?

CheeseandGherkins · 10/11/2010 15:00

Strix I got mine at holland and barratt, you can get both in Boots also I think and most chemists. Floradix comes in a bottle and spatone in a box with sachets in. Floradix is an acquired tasted lol but is just a small mouthful at least and I prefer it! Floradix comes with some vitamins in it too and I believe Vit C is one of them to help with the absorption. Yep never had constipation with the natural ones and nothing else either other than darker poo! Tmi lol.
