and I feel so sad. The poor little love was diagnosed with an enlarged heart 2 months before he was born and it was touch and go as to whether he's survive the birth.

He was in special care at St Thomas's for 2 weeks then allowed home. He was doing really well and then ten days ago, she took him to the GP as he was unwell and they said nothing was wrong. She took him again a couple of days later and they said the sameme. On Thursday, she took him into hospital and he didn't survive the emergency operation.

We met in hospital when our dd's were born and I feel so very sad for her.

PLease say a prayer for her and her family xx

I don't think it there would have been any change in outcome had he been admitted earlier. They said that even if he had survived the operation, his quality of life would have been dreadful.

I haven't seen her yet as she wanted this weekend to be alone with her dp. dd and 2 stepchildren. I am hoping to go and see her later in the week when she's ready.

Thinking of her and of the family and of you too galaxy. It seems to have been a tough week in the 'heart' community. On a board I use we have lost 3 children this week - an 11 year old girl and two 2 year olds.

Galaxy - if she needs to talk about her babe at some point in the future, there is a bereavement board at www.heartline.org.uk. The mums their know what she's going through. X
