My husband has died

I don't know what to do. Police came this evening. My husband has died of a heart attack. Completely out of the blue. I am shaking, don't know what to do.

Oh gosh, what a shock. Do you actually need to do anything right now? Can you just sit for a little while, maybe have a tea with sugar?

What do you have to do and who can help you?

Do you have kids at home, are there other people who need to be notified, and do you have a friend or family member who can do those notifications for you?

I am with our daughter. She is asleep. A friend took us to the hospital, they didn't tell he had passed away but when we arrived I knew. He didn't suffer. It is totally out of the blue. He was 55, I cannot believe what has happened. I feel I have to do things, don't know what.

Don't be alone. Do you have anyone you can trust to be calm? Get them to come to you. You won't function and you need someone to be a steady presence. So sorry.

Do you have anyone IRL who can be with you? If not, where are you in the country? You need immediate support and perhaps we can help. I’m so sorry for your loss. Who can you contact right now to help?

Theres probably not a lot that you really need to do right now/tonight.

It might be good to get a friend to come and sit with you.
If you really feel the need, maybe start writing some things down, just to get them out of your head/feel like you are doing something
