doctor appt friday for DS (sicky, off-balance, bad ears)

1000 replies

EdgarAleNPie · 23/02/2011 18:15

right - he's had an anti-biotic ear spray for two weeks. he has been particularly sick the past week so its doing bugger all

my plan for friday is to ask

-for heavy oral anti-bs to realy kick the infection (if it is bacterial, as if its in the inner ear an exterior spray won't touch it).
-for a referral to a paediatrician (which i can always cancel if he gets better before it coes through)

  • anti-emetics/ anti nausea pills? he's been keeping very little food down. quite thin.

how does that sound for a plan?

he already saw audiology, they said 'yes, there's fluid in his ear.' is there any point in seeing them again?

He's now been down with this since November. Gone from running and kicking a ball to staggering around the house and falling over. can't manage more than a few yards without support.

ok, any thoughts?

I am so shocked by this. I had to read your post a few times to take in what happened.

I am so terribly sorry.

EdgarismyDW · 20/03/2011 16:20

blueberryboybaitonSafari - I went out to get fish and chips for us last night and saw both the full moon and one of those lanterns drifting past along the south coast. I'd like to think that was for DS.

Mr & Mrs Edgar - I have come to this thread several times since Friday. Always wanting to say something but nothing seemed adequate. Today I've realised there will never be the words that seem adequate so I am just expressing my deepest, deepest sympathy.

May I add my encouragement to donate to ClicSargent?
They have bee6n a charity I have supported for some time now.
I saw a Clic SW the day after DD was diagnosed and they continued to support throughout her illness and beyond. One day they turned up with some money for her to go shopping after she had endured the most horrific 6 weeks in hospital.
There were no forms to fill in, no fuss, just a lovely lady with some cash for a 13 year old girl to spend.
They came to her funeral and they paid for us to have a week away by the sea (and my family) afterwards.

They are a good charity, working on the ground and they understand the lives of children touched by cancer.

Sending strength to you EAP & EAP's OH x

You have been in my thoughts all weekend. I came back to look at this thread and over 500 people had left messages. What a special boy - to have reached out and touched so many of us, to make us consider and appreciate all that we have. What a powerful little ray of light he is.

Mr and Mrs Edgar - your children are truly blessed to have such dignified, loving and warm people as parents xxx

FourFortyFour · 20/03/2011 20:23

Im so terribly terribly sorry for your loss. Im not eloquent enough to say anything more than Im thinking of you all.
Your DS is terribly lucky to have had you as his parents.
I shall be making a donation to CLIC in his memory. May those memories comfort you and help you gain strength.
