doctor appt friday for DS (sicky, off-balance, bad ears)

1000 replies

EdgarAleNPie · 23/02/2011 18:15

right - he's had an anti-biotic ear spray for two weeks. he has been particularly sick the past week so its doing bugger all

my plan for friday is to ask

-for heavy oral anti-bs to realy kick the infection (if it is bacterial, as if its in the inner ear an exterior spray won't touch it).
-for a referral to a paediatrician (which i can always cancel if he gets better before it coes through)

  • anti-emetics/ anti nausea pills? he's been keeping very little food down. quite thin.

how does that sound for a plan?

he already saw audiology, they said 'yes, there's fluid in his ear.' is there any point in seeing them again?

He's now been down with this since November. Gone from running and kicking a ball to staggering around the house and falling over. can't manage more than a few yards without support.

ok, any thoughts?

So sorry for the loss of your lovely son.

EdgarismyDW · 19/03/2011 13:25

(I have posted this on the other thread as well)

I have just joined MN so that I could post my own big thank you for all the support and wishes for us that have been posted here. Just reading them is making me cry every time, but it's wonderful to know that there is so much love for my beautiful DS, even from those who never knew him.

The thought of all those years that we will be without him is almost too much weight to bear, but we know that with time and with the support of family and friends we will be able to only remember the good times and the joy he brought us.

DD1 has been very sad this morning, so there have been lots of hugs. When I told her that I loved DS and missed him and wanted him back she replied "Don't worry Daddy. I find him for you"

Despite our loss we still have so much.

boosmummie · 19/03/2011 13:35

How terribly brave of you EdgarismyDW, your strength is an inspiration to us all.

You are at the forefront of all of our thoughts today, and no doubt for many many more to come.

Your DDs are extraordinarily blessed with two such amazing parents.

SilverSky · 19/03/2011 13:38

Aww bless DD1

TorcherQueenie · 19/03/2011 13:39

Edgar I am so so very sorry I really wish things could of been better for you and your darling caring little boy, I will indeed kiss my little one tonight and I will be thinking of you and your lovely little boy while I do so.
I hope the following poem can bring you some comfort. I wish so much that I could fix this for you as I imagine a lot of people do, Nobody deserves the heartache of losing a child.

Mum, please don't feel guilty
It was just my time to go.
I see you are still feeling sad,
And the tears just seem to flow.
We all come to earth for our lifetime,
And for some it's not many years
I don't want you to keep crying
You are shedding so many tears.
I haven't really left you
Even though it may seem so.
I have just gone to my heavenly home,
And I'm closer to you than you know.
Just believe that when you say my name
I'm standing next to you,
I know you long to see me,
But there's nothing I can do.
But I'll still send you messages
And hope you understand,
That when your time comes to cross over,
I'll be there to take your hand.

edam · 19/03/2011 13:41

Thanks so much for sparing the time to post, edgarismydw. dd1's comment is so moving. Bless you all.

Becaroooo · 19/03/2011 13:42

I hope it will bring a crumb of comfort to you all in the future to know that the last words your darling ds heard were his mummy telling him she loved him and what a good boy he was.

My deepest sympathies to you all
xxxx

Heathcliffscathy · 19/03/2011 13:47

Dear Edgar and Mr Edgar, I am so sad and sorry and shocked by what has happened to you. I cannot imagine the pain and sorrow you are feeling. For what it's worth, I hope that you allow yourselves to feel all of what you feel, death is such a strange thing that all sorts of emotions can come up, 'good' 'bad' surreal and unspeakable. I hope you allow yourselves to feel all of it as nothing is forbidden. All my thoughts and love to you all at this horrible time. x
