We call it 'girlies' short for girly bits.

kitbit · 09/04/2008 13:01

I remember calling it a "fairy" at school, no idea why but it made us laugh when we were about 7!

doggiesayswoof · 09/04/2008 13:01

It's a vulva.

I hate front bum or front bottom (actually dislike all the euphemisms really)

minnie - moo or noo-noo

My mum told my little brother it was mummy's hedgehog - then one day aged about 3 he asked his dad what the Tampax in the bathroom were -
They are hedgehog chewies he said!!

that one still makes me laugh to this day

piggysgal · 09/04/2008 13:21

We call dd's her little 'popsy'. I think it's quite a sweet word.

TeeBee · 09/04/2008 15:25

I know it is supposed to be the 'right' thing to say vulva but I'm afraid I don't call it vulva so never felt comfy with that. I have used tuppence which is what I called it when I was a little girl (so in a way its a family tradition!). yes I know its twee and all that but don't think its affected me too deeply (or has it?!). And at least we're all clear when DD1 has a problem 'down there' as to which bit she is talking about.

My friend uses the word 'bits' with her two DDs. Causes great hilarity when Bits and Bobs came on CBeebies "Hold onto your bobs Bits, hold onto your bits Bobs"

JeremyVile · 09/04/2008 15:31

There's a character on YoGabbaGabba called Foofa, I always snigger inanely to myself....

Klaw · 09/04/2008 15:41

I have struggled with this for ages now.

I don't recall a name for my vulva when growing up as a child, other than fanny, and I don;t recall referring to it myself in actual words

All the euphemisms make me cringe and I have panicked over what to get DD to call hers, cos I don't want her to be the odd one out in the playground, iyswim.

I find vulva so harsh a word I'd rather not use it but would prefer to use the correct terminology so am in a quandry.

Dd refers to both her vulva and bottom as bottom, or 'b'omb'. I tried to tell her that her vulva was not her bottom and she replied in no uncertain terms that it, in fact, WAS.

I will just have to bite the bullet and carry on with vulva, I suppose...

Ds, incidently, had a 'wee man' when not referring to it as a penis. Now that he's 14.7 I guess 'wee man' is out of the question
