Mine: DS2 (2.9 or something) slept with my old broken bike seat last night.

Oh and there's often stickers in the bed plus a pencil and scrap paper.

DD has a tiny glow in the dark star with a nightcap called Twinkly, who (combined with a dreamcatcher and a jewel under her pillow) protects her from bad dreams- bless.

Neither of mine have ever bothered with soft toys in the bed, far too comfortable.

DS1 normally sleeps with a book or two. Nothing more these days, although he certainly did used to be mad for a lot of uncomfortable toys. (Oh, he is sleeping in his new army hat, though. )

DS2 has a blanket I made draped over the top of his cot, to make a house. (A lovely house, he generally says.) I don't think he took anything into his bed for a change. He's loved spatulas, a wide range of toys, but the bike seat is the weirdest so far I think ...

DD used to go to bed with a pumice stone from the bathroom that she had named "puppy". DItto the nail brush. Honestly - she is not deprived and has access to all manner of soft toys and so on. Is just wierd.
DS (21 months) went to be tonight clutching a bed from the Sylvanian Families doll's house, in which he'd put a small plastic Bob the Builder, a toy car, a soft kangaroo and a rubber duck from the bath. Also his clothie and numerous dummies. Wakes up with all sorts of imprints on his face.

Gameboy · 23/06/2007 22:28

About 10 assorted soft toys + two Playmobil magazines - the 2007 one open at the Airport page.....(every night)

Elibean · 23/06/2007 22:43

A plastic bath filled with My Little Ponys, a blanket, and a jewelry box.

I like this thread.

LOs are so lovely

NotQuiteCockney · 24/06/2007 06:54

Oh, I'd forgotten, DS2 used to carry around a plastic basket (like a shopping basket) which he would fill up with whatever he was obsessed with at the moment, and sleep with.

Oh, and he's slept with track and trains, loads of times. Always particular trains, and particular track shapes. That isn't even vaguely weird to me (now), but it might be weird to others.

dd was recently given a bag of mcdonalds playfood and insisted on taking it to bed that night, went in at 10pm to peel plastic hamburger from the side of her face!

she also slept with a rock once.

these are on top of the 6 teddies that neeed to be correctly arranged around her
when she's tucked in and a dummy!

katelyle · 24/06/2007 13:56

A pair of sparky dancing shoes!

A caster (castor?) found in s skip.

NotQuiteCockney · 24/06/2007 14:30

Wait, is sleeping with a rock weird? Both of mine have done that. And sticks.

DS1 made a gun out of a collection of used water bottles, and slept with that for a while.

At the moment, he likes his toolbox - like a proper grown-up one but smaller. Offcuts of plastic pipe from DP's forays into plumbing. Paper and stickers.

LindzDelirium · 24/06/2007 21:59

DD (4.11) sleeps with Charlie, her imaginary friend (who is a crab) every night. Sometimes he also brings his friends Dallam and Dodgy.

Tutter · 24/06/2007 22:00

ds has to have 3 dummies

not 2, not 4 - three

and a car

maximummummy · 24/06/2007 22:14

ds (2.6) was recently sleeping with 2 footballs but only because i wouldn't let him have 3 ! (yes i'm a mean mummy)

colditz · 24/06/2007 22:14

a magnifying glass

Practicalpet · 24/06/2007 22:15

I know without checking that my dd has in bed with her a large stuffed Dora doll, 10 dummies, a cup of water, whatever book was on her bedside table........ no make that everything that was on her bedside table!

She has gone to bed in the past with her wellies on holding a plastic donkey from a farmyard set.

katelyle · 25/06/2007 11:05

I've just made ds's bed and found 6 darts (the magnetic rather than the pointy kind!) 4 bears, a styffed dinosaur, a foam football, 2 old muslin squares. his caster(castor?) and a silk scarf he's loved all his life.

cathcart · 25/06/2007 11:07

my brother went to bed with a prawns head once

  • we had to tell him the dog ate it while he was asleep!
Boredveryverybored · 25/06/2007 11:17

DD got very attached to a coconut a few years ago that my dad had gien her and told her was called Colin (he's an odd man )
She slept with that for ages, could not get it away from her!

saltire · 25/06/2007 11:21

Last night DS2, who is 7 had
Dr Who, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, a cyberman, and his trusty Bullseye in bed with him.
Obviously not the real Dr Who, otherwise I would have swapped beds with DS

Clary · 25/06/2007 11:28

ds2 (4) has an old fleec zip-thru he loves and sleeps with - that's not so weird but it's often find it stuffed down his trousers or up his jama top, which seems a bit odd.

Maybe not tho after reading thread.
Oh yes Gameboy DS2 had slept with playmobil mags and also the cardboard backing from a spiderman toy (the toy was DS1's as well...)

DD (6) frequently has small toy animals, books, a dolls' dummy, etc etc under her pillow. In fact if I can't find something precious (to her!) that's the first place I look lol.

Lol at unused hoover bits Mrs Big D!
These lists remind me of Dave's sister Bella in Dogger.
