My ds is 14 months and had been taking 4-5 steps at a time for about 2 weeks before dropping down to crawl.
Now this morning he's statred to walk everywhere!

Just curious to see what age others started.

hana · 30/04/2006 14:22

really, walking early doesn't have any bearing on intelligence

motherinferior · 30/04/2006 14:24

I agree with Hana, on the basis that DD1 took absolutely ages - about 16-17 months, really - and is bright as a button.

Holding on to my finger, 14 months. Alone, 16 months. I have the climbiest, runniest, most active 2.4 year old...exactly the same as her little cousin, same age, who took his first solo steps at 8 months.

mrspitt · 30/04/2006 21:37

ds 9 months to the day
dd1 11months

hulababy · 30/04/2006 21:38

Independently at 10 months. Took one step, and then walked the length of the room and never stopped. She'd been cruising holding hands from 5 months and with furniture/walker by 7 months.

galaxy · 30/04/2006 21:45

dd started walking at 17 months - was a little wierd actually. She could hold a good conversation from about 14 months with full sentences but couldn't walk

longwaytogo · 30/04/2006 22:36

dd1 13 months
dd2 13 months
dd3 191/2 months
ds 15 months
