What do you think of Crissi-Lee as a girl's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

Umm

I think it's very American. And not in a good way. Sorry.

Aitch · 24/06/2010 12:10

hideous, i'm afraid.

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 24/06/2010 12:10

I think that before I clicked on this, I knew I'd see the words "It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder".

And I think that you're a repeat poster who regularly comes in under different names with these horrendous hyphenated made-up names that you've just added to the BNF. I just don't know why.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 24/06/2010 12:10

Not a fan.

HurleySatOnMe · 24/06/2010 12:11

No no no no with bells on

Aitch · 24/06/2010 12:12

lol, really tort? what a funny thing to do. i did think that the fact that someone with no taste had listed an atrocious name probably wasn't the greatest recommendation.

smallorange · 24/06/2010 12:14

Really? How bizarre.

I knew a girl called Violet- Fluorescent Green - You could add that one.

PrincessMaddi · 24/06/2010 12:23

well actually its my daughters name, just wondered what people thought, so thanks alot. its not made up, its just more unique that the usual Chrissie.

Aitch · 24/06/2010 12:25

mmmmm-kay

piratecat · 24/06/2010 12:26

you did ask, and it's a very american name, and as a brit, this sort of name tends to cause a ' oh my ears' type reaction in me.

OrmRenewed · 24/06/2010 12:26

What is it?

HurleySatOnMe · 24/06/2010 12:27

Unique. Yep, it sure is. Call the next one U-Niq

CerealOffender · 24/06/2010 12:27

unique isn't always good

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 24/06/2010 12:30

So it's just a coincidence that in the past three weeks, there have been threads with identically worded titles and OPs as follows:

Maddon

Prunella

Edmund and

Giles

is it? Each of which has added the name to the Finder?

Tortoise, I thought it was an automatic message when a name gets added?
Though quite why people add them is beyond me. I am goign to add U-Niq...

i know a little girl of this name although not the same spelling!

jpg · 24/06/2010 12:33

ha ha ha ha

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 24/06/2010 12:33

It is? I will apologise most sincerely if this is the case, but I added one a while back (there was a competition or something) and I don't remember it posting automatically.

But if there's an option to post automatically, and that's why the identical wording, then I do apologise to the OP. I did wonder why someone with a Chrissi-Lee and a Maddon also likes Edmund and Giles.

PrincessMaddi · 24/06/2010 12:34

well i just put it in there to see if anything came up. ive only just joined so i havnt added other random names. i think it is a pretty name and just because i am british doesnt mean i have to stick to the usual plain boring names does it??? its only a different spelling to Chrissie, not that major really is it?!?

blouseenthusiast · 24/06/2010 12:36

Yes, just tried it - the baby name finder will start a convo with those words - please ignore my thread on "peebul"

CerealOffender · 24/06/2010 12:36

take heed

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 24/06/2010 12:36

Dammit, I've just tested that, and you're absolutely right.

OP, I sincerely apologise, I take it all back, you are not a bizarre serial poster, I was entirely wrong.

But I still dislike Crissi-Lee.

Aitch · 24/06/2010 12:59

oh dear, apologies than princessmaddi. but now you have the unvarnished truth, i guess.
