Bit of a different question than 'which name do you prefer/think'..

When I was a bit younger I would probably answer Jessica, but now I would say Phoebe i think.. Its tough tho! x x

Jessica for me

SilveryMoon · 13/06/2010 09:39

Phoebe without a doubt. I think it's very cute for a lo and then quite classy for an adult.
I really don't like Jessica, mainly because it'd be shortened to Jess which I think is awful

diddl · 13/06/2010 09:42

Jessica.

tiredlady · 13/06/2010 09:51

Phoebe.

Jessica ok, but a bit boring. Jess is better

Phoebe.

PansAndNoodles · 13/06/2010 10:29

I don't especially like Jessica but I do quite like Jess so I'd choose it for that reason.

I don't like Phoebe, it sounds like a name being said backwards in my head for some reason. As for 'Pheebs' which I have heard before now...please nooooo!

tummytickler · 13/06/2010 10:46

I dont like either name, but if I had to choose one of them for myself I would choose Jessica as it sounds a bit more adult, I find an adult Phoebe really hard to imagine - it just seems like such a childish name.

Magalyxyz · 13/06/2010 12:11

Phoebe, I love this name.

Obviously it's just personal taste and there's nothing wrong with the name Jessica but I think it's a harsh sound. Hissy S followed by KUH. But lots of people do like it obviously.

persephoneplum · 13/06/2010 12:13

Phoebe

NotGrownUpEnough · 13/06/2010 12:24

Jessica

toniguy · 13/06/2010 12:27

From the sound of the full namees, I would happily be called either.

Realistically I would choose Jessica because the abbreviations, Jessie or Jess are far nicer than 'Pheebs' which is what every Phoebe I know gets called.

Also, I think as written words, Jessica looks better than Phoebe. Phoebe makes me think of Phobia when I see it written

Tidey · 13/06/2010 12:31

Jessica. Phoebe just sounds ditsy and flaky, entirely the fault of Friends.

crumpette · 13/06/2010 12:37

Phoebe

Hedwig3 · 13/06/2010 20:33

Phoebe.

There have been a lot of Jessica posts lately haven't there?!

autodidact · 13/06/2010 20:34

Jessica

ZZZenAgain · 13/06/2010 20:34

I'm not a Phoebe
NOt really a Jessica type either but more than a Phoebe

funnysinthegarden · 13/06/2010 22:44

Buffoon?

DinahRod · 13/06/2010 22:53

Phoebe I like as the 'complete' name

but like Jess as a nn.

ZZZenAgain · 14/06/2010 08:18

funnyisinthegarden, are you recommending buffoon as an appropriate name for me?

funnysinthegarden · 14/06/2010 09:48

ZZZen, no. Just playing a silly game on my own!

Tis a bit random TBH. I am sure you are no Buffoon!

ZZZenAgain · 14/06/2010 10:03

you had me going, I thought you knew me in RL

nickelbabe · 14/06/2010 10:05

Jessica.

Phoebe sounds too old lady-ish.

nickelbabe · 14/06/2010 10:08

i called my chicken Jessica because i wasn't allowed to have children.

unfortunately, that follows that the name has now been "taken", so you should call her Jessica just to make it up to me.

funnysinthegarden · 14/06/2010 10:19

Zen. Roffle. I don't think I know anyone in RL on MN!
